We visited on New Year’s Eve for lunch, family plus the hound. It was busy service but you wouldn’t know it, the food was amazing (best ice cream sundae ever), the staff and service were first class. Best meal out in a long time, congrats to the owner and the team. Will 100% book again next time we’re in the area.
We had a brilliant meal at The Rock Inn. Delicious food (the venison was so good), with a really varied menu. The team at the pub are really nice and it is dog friendly! Highly recommended.
Amazing little TARDIS. From the car park we thought we would struggle to find a table. We were surprised how big it was inside. Made to feel very welcome. Food was of the best quality. Not too long to wait seeing it was cooked to order just as you requested it to be. What an amazing find by just looking at good old Google. Very well deserved reviews. Sadly seeing we were on holiday it maybe some time before we return but hopefully there will be plenty of others that use our table. Wishing them all the best for the future.
Decided to spend our last evening at the Rock Inn before heading home to Bournemouth in the morning. What a great decision. Shared Asian belly pork for starter and then I had a burger whilst the wife had a the steak and otter ale pie. The food was incredible. The staff couldn't be more helpful. The two lads behind the bar are a credit to the establishment. I only wish we lived closer.
We visited The Rock Inn whilst staying at Woolacombe Bay. It’s a really great place to eat. The menu offers tons of gluten free options as well as catering to vegetarians & vegans. Our food was delicious & didn’t take long to arrive. The staff were really friendly and attentive. The car park is quite small however there is a car park about a 2 minute walk away you can use.
For a tucked-away seemingly small village pub, this place does some of the best food in the area in my view. The choice was extensive but also to amazing quality. I had the Venison burger and it was delicious and cooked to perfection. For dessert I had the creme brûlée and it was equally as tasty. Service was great here and the atmosphere was lovely and extremely oldie-worldie (my favourite kind of pub!) I would highly recommend to try if you’re staying in the area of Georgeham or you live nearby, you won’t be disappointed.
This place is Georgeham and crosses best pub. The food is incredible, as are the staff. The blonde girl who served us both nights (we came two nights in a row it’s so good) was amazing and the food was exceptional. We aren’t local but if we were we’d be here everyday. Thanks for making our trip to Devon that much better :)
The food was delicious, served at lightning speed and the staff were lovely. The pork belly bites special was especially nice, perfectly cooked. It was rather hot in the dining area even without anyone else in there, so probably should have chose to sit outside!
Reviewing 2024, I came across a photo of the most delicious bouillabaisse I had the pleasure of tasting. It was at The Rock Inn, Georgeham, and I do not lie when I say that I did a little dance of delight as I ate it. Service was impeccable and very good atmosphere. Parking is limited in front of the pub but we luckily managed to get a spot.
Having popped into the Rock Inn a few times for a pint and even just to sample the deserts, which I have to say are amazing and worth every penny of the £7.50, we decided to have a meal here, and we are so very glad we did. Buffalo Cauliflower wings were very tasty with the sriracha mayo, great starter. I'd spotted the Rock Inn Fish Pie on the menu earlier in the week and was salivating at the thought, I checked with the staff to see if it was any good, they said it was one of their most popular dishes - I can now testify that it is truly amazing and gorgeous: lovely cheesy mash on top of creamy haddock, salmon and prawn. It is no wonder they serve it with a chunk of bread as you'll want to eat up every last morsel, it is one of those dishes you never want to end. My wife had the burger which was expertly cooked and chips that were lovely and crispy. Our bellies were very happy, thank goodness we'd popped in earlier in the week to try their deserts, I don't think we could manage another thing. So amazing that one village has two excellent pubs, I'd be hard pushed to tell you which was my favourite!
I would thoroughly recommend trying The Rock Inn. We ate a lovely meal (roast, pie and scampi meals and they were all great). Good atmosphere as well. What you would call a great village pub.
one of the best pubs i have been in amazing local fish which was deliscous. the atmosphere was light-hearted and the staff were amazing, had a little problem parking but it is worth it for the food there. the muscles were massive and full of flavor. 100% recommend this to anyone in that area to stop and try some of the food there. had a great time looking forward to going there again.
Well worth a visit. We got a table last minute and the staff were so welcoming.
Booked in for lunch around 9:30 on the day of the booking for a 12pm Sunday lunch. We both went for pork which was really tasty with a generous helping of sides including cauliflower cheese fresh greens, carrot and swede mash. Service was really friendly and the coffees were not bad either. Good recommendation from the guide in our holiday cottage.
Unfortunately I'd like to give this place no stars, just to keep it quiet, but hey I have to be honest! Probably one of the best most genuine pubs in the area. The beers are great, well served and a good choice including guest ales and ciders. The wine is good too with a good selection to suit most. However the big draw apart from the great historical nature of the pub and very welcoming and friendly staff is the food. A really good creative selection of local and inventive dishes and board enough in range to suit most, including children's adaptations and very clear vegan, veggie and gluten free options. Drawbacks are parking, but hey walk and have an extra drink or two, it's not a big deal as further parking very close. Drop into the rock and have a rocking good time ! We did!
Amazing venue. Recommended to everyone. Brilliant service from waiting and bar staff. Everyone very friendly. Busy place so it worth booking in advance. Limited parking nearby, but worth a short walk. My ribeye steak is the best steak I've ever had, and all members of our party agreed that they were the best chips any of us have had. Really cannot fault the food or service at all. Great atmosphere as well. If you have the chance, this is well worth the visit.
Great place fantastic food great staff, highly recommend the pork& spice sausages burger
The best cheesecake we have ever tasted! Generous portion sizes for all courses! Wonderful garden room table for me and Liss. Could not complain about a thing! Vegan options… we were just so content! Thanks all!
Great Sunday roast, really good value compared to many roasts. Great service, very friendly and helpful with our awkward combo of allergies.
We discovered the Rock Inn about two years ago when we first tried camping in Croyde. We’ve been back to this part of the World several times since then and we always go to the Rock Inn at least once! The staff are great, it’s nice to come across a landlord that actually wants to be at work (people wonder why so many pubs are failing!) and the food is lovely! My wife is Gluten intolerant and they cater so well for this which is an amazing breath of fresh air. If you’re ever in the area then please visit the Rock Inn, you won’t regret it!
Visiting mid-week during early Summer (Bank Holiday week and schools half-term), and with a party of 9, I was pleasantly surprised with the quick service and delivery of food and drinks. We were placed in the prettiest part of the restaurant - the conservatory at the back - and had plenty of space for 3 children, a baby and a great grandmother. The food was the delight of the evening. The starter, for me a black pudding scotch egg, being the best of them all. There was a good variety on the menu and portions were filling, not excessive. Children were well catered for and the staff were happy to offer details on what meals were and could be made gluten free (the chips are and they're delicious!). There was enough parking when we arrived and there were a few seats out the front for sunny days. Getting there for us needed the knowledge of a local, but sat navs or Google Maps app would equally do the job - though don't expect much in the way of data. I didn't check whether they offered Wi-Fi. Overall good service, great food and at sensible prices. Would happily visit again.
Great dog friendly pub serving food all day (unlike some other local pubs) and very clear social distancing measures! We had the fish and chips and fish pie followed by sticky toffee pudding. The service and food were both excellent. Highly recommend the Lyme Bay Brut.
Really enjoyed The Rock Inn and dinner here was excellent. Very good covid measures but made it feel normal at the same time. Table of 6 booked on OpenTable was easy and they took our Beagle too. Very friendly and considerate of any allergies. Been again and still as good.
Great local in Georgeham. Friendly staff and 5 real ales (I only had one of them but it was very well kept). Would certainly return. Food rating refers to quality of beer.
A lovely country inn that is warm and inviting. I ordered the large portion of mussels and they were to die for.
Always spot on. Great atmosphere and awesome food. Excellent landlord. We always visit on any trip to North Devon.
We went for lunch and had amazing food. I really recommend the fish and chips. Lovely establishment and super friendly service. Thank you, we will be back
Sssssshhh, there's a secret in Georgeham, the most amazing food, it's rare our whole family are so gushing about all the different food we had enjoyed, properly top notch and each of us had a different main course. Can't compliment the chef enough, the staff delivered great service as well. Much impressed, definitely going back. But don't tell everyone, otherwise we'll struggle to get a booking.......well done, an absolute gem
Found after walking but what a lovely little hidden gem we didn't have any food but I could see looked excellent...very friendly staff which you don't find anymore lots of people going in to eat also dog friendly which was a bonus!
Really Good family friendly pub, the service was excellent and the food and drink was great. All reasonably priced. We'll worth a visit
Absolutely inspired roast pork baguette with chips and gravy- delicious! And this was for one.
The food was absolutely delicious - we had the halloumi burger, Spanish burger and the banofre cheesecake. The servers were all also very polite, cheery and friendly, the best pub food & pub service we have had in a long time !!
Really nice place to visit for some really nice food. We went for the Sunday roasts and they were delicious. We we're quite a drive away, if we had of been closer we would have visited more than once for sure.
Just had a great evening. Many thanks, the food was great, service was excellent. Highly recommend.
Had lunch here today- lovely food and great service. Very friendly team working there- really welcoming, chatty and relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Love this pub. Fowey Mussels are totally delicious as are the other dishes I've tried on the menu. Great service every time. Ales kept well. A total favourite place to eat, and spend an hour or two relaxing.
Love this place and found via the net whilst out in North Devon. Lovely old pub with great food and fab service. Can sit outside if the weathers kind. Will be returning. Thank you
We've eaten there twice during this stay, and called in for a pint on another day. The hosts are all friendly and made us feel very welcome and cared for. The food was just gorgeous. Simple but beautifully prepared and presented. The burgers were fantastic, fish pie was generous and delicious and the chicken bao buns were a very tasty break from the norm. Beer was always good. We only had one desert, which I enjoyed immensely, a generous and very tasty cheesecake. Great place, great food, good beers and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. This is a very lucky village!
Excellent Sunday lunch. Good portions and very tasty roast beef, potatoes, Yorkshire, and lots of veg. Topped off with an indulgent sticky toffee pudding. Parking was easy (12.40 on a Sunday in high season) and the staff set just the right tone.
Great pub with delicious dishes especially the fish and seafood. On our night the demand slightly overwhelmed the number of staff serving.
Well worth a visit if you are in the area. Roast dinner was very good.
Extremely friendly landlord. Excellent food and service. Cosy atmosphere. Will return next time we are in the area!
Just been to North Devon for a long weekend and visited the Rock Inn twice. Excellent food and wish I could have tried more on the menu to be honest. Young chap at the bar was great and recognised us coming back. Had the Ravioli, Venison Burger, Seafood Linguine and Roast. All delicious and highly recommend. Nice outdoor seating area and inside was really cosy as well. Will be coming back 100% when next in the area!
We had a very good roast Sunday lunch there - a warm welcome, excellent food which arrived very quickly. The staff were all cheerful and the place had a relaxed atmosphere of somewhere that knows what it's about. Well done The Rock Inn!
Harry the Landlords son was attentive, pleasant and efficient. He welcomed us to his Dad’s pub and made us comfortable. I had the mussels which were the best mussels I’ve ever had both in size, flavour and presentation. Hubby had prawns to start which were excellent for the same reasons. Mains, rack of ribs - stupendous and sea bass, perfection of crispy skin, moist flesh and filleted. All in all a fantastic meal. Wonderful service, friendly staff and wonderful surroundings. Would definitely, definitely recommend all day long!
Lovely old country pub which is much bigger than it looks from the outside. Good selection of drinks and the food is amazing, the steak & ale pie and fish pie were particularly outstanding. Harry,D'Arcy, and Gemma behind the bar are very attentive,as are all the staff. All in all a great pub.
A superb pub and restaurant The whole place couldn’t be faulted, the food, staff( especially Gemma) atmosphere and facilities were all excellent. Would recommend to all .
Visited here on a Saturday night. Quiet in the restaurant with only 5 tables. We all ordered mains. All were good minus the beef burgers which we were told we’re served well done and came rare which is not how the burger was wanted. This was rectified by staff when brought to their attention. Our waitress was great. Worth a visit.
We sat outside under a gazebo to have lunch in the sunshine on a Thursday. We could have gone indoors, but it was so warm. Food was lovely, we had fresh crab, chicken enchiladas, ribs, and steak and ale pie. Crab was great, as was the chicken enchilada, ribs a little too much sauce, steak and ale pie was fab. Finished with sticky toffee pudding (fantastic) and rock Inn sundaes - which was ok, but needed a bit more in the cream, maybe a Chantilly cream. Friendly staff and nice and clean. Good pub food ☺️
A very a good Sunday Roast. Good portion sizes and tasty food. I had a “junior portion” and it was more than enough for me! Will go again.
