Great atmosphere, delicious food, and phenomenal service! We chose to go to Monique's after our small wedding ceremony, and boy did we make the right decision. As soon as we walked in we were shown our reserved table without having to say anything. The drinks, starters (get the duck bon bon!! I don't usually like duck, but these were soooo good), and every entrée we ordered was super tasty, and the sticky toffee pudding was heavenly. After the starters we stepped outside to call our family, and our wonderful servers waited until we were back to bring out the main courses. The vibes, decor, and music selection were all on-point as well. Thank you so much for making our special day even better! ♡
Delicious food great service. Every item in the menu was great shareable size amazing staff the view. It’s a breathtaking.
Moniques was amazing. We stumbled across it after our wedding and had an amazing table, right on the harbour. The service was friendly and fast. Food was delicious, I had the seafood risotto which was lovely. Defintely recommend visiting. We were having such a good time I didn't take many photos and the ones I did were poor, sorry!
Had an absolutely amazing meal here, my husband had the chowder, hes eaten alot of chowder in America it's one of his favourite dishes and he absolutely loved the chowder here said it was one of the best hes ever had he then had the seaford risotto again a great meal I had the prawn cocktail with a twist which was amazing with the chicken and bacon salad staff where very attentive well worth a visit
Every visit to Monique’s in Gibraltar has been an absolute pleasure. The attention to detail is second to none, from the beautifully presented dishes to the thoughtful, consistent service. The food is always exceptionally fresh and of very high quality, with a rotating specials menu that highlights seasonal produce and creative cooking. What truly sets Monique’s apart is the warmth and professionalism of the staff — they are consistently friendly, welcoming, and attentive without ever being intrusive. This is a place where quality meets heart, and it has become a firm favourite for us. Highly recommended.
I ordered the fillet of salmon on rice I thoroughly enjoyed mine , cooked well and presented nicely . Husband had fish and chips , batter slightly overdone but he still liked it. We chose to be seated outside. Staff were friendly and we were served quickly , restroom very clean as was inside restaurant.
This place was recommended by the staff at our Hotel which is a 10-15 minute walk down hill, and it did not disappoint. As soon as this Northern lass saw sticky toffee pudding on the dessert menu, the main course food choice had to be made to leave enough room for dessert. The pan fried cod with lobster sauce and asparagus was lovely though I agree with a previous reviewer that the new potatoes are more mash than crushed new potatoes, if they were whole new potatoes it would have been perfect. As it was it didn’t over fill and left room for the dessert. As a self confessed sticky toffee pudding connaisseur, it rivalled the world renowned Cartmel Lake District one 😮 I asked if I could have mascarpone with it as opposed to ice cream or custard and whilst they weren’t able to oblige, they did offer clotted cream with it and this was sublime. A couple of cocktails accompanying the meal slipped down nicely too. We will definitely return on future visits to Gib and are even tempted to sample their lunch and other afternoon options as there are many temptations on the menu
We had dinner here last night, and it was an absolute delight. The inside is decorated really quite tastefully, and importantly, they have fantastic, super comfy chairs. The house wine (french) was a really nice change from all the good Spanish wines we generally opt for. We had the chowder to start with, which was really good, and as this is quite filling, we then shared a main. The main of ribs with chips and coleslaw was cooked to perfection, and the meet fell off the bones. We were too full fir dessert. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place and would also like to mention that staff were efficient and helpful. We would definitely return here again. My only suggestion to improve the diners experience would be that the owner update the menu prices online as these are out of date and the food has increased in price. I've uploaded the menu from our visit last night.
Had a fabulous afternoon tea here. Sandwiches, scones and cakes were lovely and fresh. Service is good. Friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant overlooks the marina. A nice way to spend an afternoon.
The ambience is aesthetic and the service was wonderful. The waitresses were most patient and attentive. The food was just perfect, we had the Roast fillet of John Dori and sticky pork ribs, both of them were absolutely delicious, so was their mango icecream cup, it will just melt in your mouth.
What a gem this place is, beautiful setting by the water and the food to match. Every course was delicious, well presented and full of flavour. I had the chicken and chorizo croquettes to start, followed by the duck breast in a red wine jus and sticky toffee pudding to round it all off. Great food, good service and an all round great experience! Would highly recommend.

Decoración muy chula
We had a great experience at Monique's Bistro & Café! The ribs — both the Thai-style and the classic ones — were absolutely world-class. The tuna tartare was fresh and flavorful, and the side dishes that came with the main courses were very well done. The cocktails were perfect — beautifully balanced and expertly mixed. The wine was okay, but everything else made up for it. If there's one thing that could be improved, it's the service — a bit more attentiveness would have made the experience even better. Still, definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!
Ate here recently over the summer, had the rack of lamb, and steak also and both were amazing. Perfect setting on the Marina in the evening! Service was great, and all staff extremely pleasant and professional. Pricing is in line with the location and food quality etc. Will be sure to return again.
We visit the restaurant on February. He staff was excellent and very polite! The vibe of the restaurant was very warm and everything was clean. But the food was something else! We enjoyed every single bite!! We choose for our starters Crispy goat cheese with beetroot carpaccio, Lamb cigars, Duck bon bon and Homemade seafood Chowder. It was delicious, with the Chowder to be the No1 plate of the day! We continued with Jack Daniels Burger, Pan roasted duck breast, and a special plate of the day, 2 way beef, which was beef Wellington! Again Delicious!!! High recommend!!
Encantadora !

Our food was very good. We had the Asian ribs and the creamy chicken and the superfood salad. The waitress was great and the atmosphere was nice.
We ate breakfast and it was best eggs benedict I've had in Spain. -1 star for really long service. I don't mind waiting a bit but total wait time was around 40 min.
Me and my wife both had burgers which were lovely, and it was in a gorgeous location, however the only downside is I found the service to be friendly yet quite slow, to the point where we asked for the bill we waited 10 minutes before going up to the bar and paying ourselves, would be 5 stars if not for this but the rest of the experience was great.
Stopped in for lunch and it was just right. We had chicken and steak ciabattas and banoffee pie. The portions were great and the food tasty and fresh. The Elderflower lemonade was refreshing and tasty- would def. Recommend a jug between 2.
Had breakfast on our visit. Lovely decor, ambience and friendly staff. The food coming out looked lovely and fresh. Proces were reasonable. My particular choice (breakfast burrito) was however very bland and mostly egg rather than bacon/ sausage.. also watery drips as I tried to eat it. I would eat here again but choose differently.

Went to Monique's because of the reviews. Very average tasting food. Lamb burger over cooked and dry. Lamb pie was the best thing we ordered. Views lovely. As another reviewer mentioned, standard pub fare. We were taken aback when we asked if we could pay in euros and were told the conversion rate would be 30%. Ouch..
Good food but be prepared to wait. Also, if you go on Sunday, there is a reduced menu - mainly for roasts. I was quite sad to not see many fresh seafood/fish options given you’re sat right there on the water. We ordered the burger and the salmon - both were very nice.
Dined here for the first time On the 17th of February. Service was great from Moi. Unfortunately, however, the food let it down. Bland tasting and nothing special. Dessert was meant to be a strawberry champagne crèam brulee, which it did not resemble in the slightest, was extremely watery.

Gibraltar resident - If ur in no rush and dont mind asking several times for the drink you ordered then this is the place for you - waitresses just huddled chatting, or eating cake at the back. 3 times brought wrong drink or given incorrect information to be met 5 mins later with ‘we have a new barman’ ‘we have a new waitress’ (no issue with new people learning the ropes but seemed every position was new) i even had to ask if i could 'get through' going to the loo - havent been to Moniques for a few year after a disaster evening with rudeness from a waiter and awful food. (thank goodness he defo wasnt there) Never got a reply to my email complaint and thought ownership had changed since then and we give it another go, defo never again!!! Such a shame as a lovely setting we love spending out weekends in Queenway
Service was really great and the scenery is lovely, but the food was not good unfortunately. The main food was barely warm and tasted quite bland, and prices are quite expensive. However, we tried the goat's cheese starter and that was really nice and seemed fresh, it would be great to have mains like that.
My husband and I ordered the beef sandwich and duck wrap. It came with chips which were good, olives which were good. The duck was good - tender and did have an Asian flavour. The beef was mediocre at best and quite tough. Definitely do not recommend. 2.5 at best, why we did we rate low? Because of the wait. For a sandwich and a wrap we waited over an hour after ordering. They realised quite late that they lost our order (we had already gotten our drinks) but the food order was lost. They did apologise but we were starving and regretted not grabbing a McDonald's instead. For the prices, establishment, service, food and to regret not grabbing fast food.
Food takes very long to come out. From the moment of ordering to arriving at the table, it took 1 hour and we ordered simple sandwiches. We were told by the staff that the kitchen had lost our ticket, it took them almost an hour to realize that and on top of that we weren't compensated in any way. When the food did come, the duck wrap was nice but the beef sandwich didn't taste good. The prices are very expensive as well, more expensive than even London! I wouldn't be coming back again
I do not recommend this restaurant because there is a very long wait the menu was cold and they have a greater chance than elsewhere and the staff is not friendly.
Ordered poached eggs on toast and a pot of English breakfast tea. The service was really poor - the waitress brought over the wrong order twice. The tea was very weak- not nice. Eggs were very undercooked and edible the whole meal was present really poorly. The eggs came on the side of my plate with two pieces of bread. The bread was horrible- it wasn’t fresh. Really underwhelming. I could have made this better myself at home.
Took visitor from uk for Sunday lunch 26 October 2025. Waitress did not speak English sufficiently. Drinks order was wrong. We all ordered Sunday lunch. I requested no Yorkshire pudding, meal still came with Yorkshire pudding. My son's meat preference was delivered incorrect. I ordered pork which was so tough I couldn't chew it. I suspected it had been cooked the day before. The parsnips were so burnt they were inedible. The roast potatoes were hard and dry. I suspect that they were frozen roasties. We requested the bill at which time I explained I was not happy with the meal. The male head waiter apologised and left it at that. We were waiting for the bill for quite a while. I could see no waiters so went to find someone. There were 4 waitresses/waiters in the back area and they appeared to be doing nothing but checking the tips tin. I have been to moniques previously and had really good food and service. However, I will definitely not be going there for Sunday lunch again. Sorry.
Very slow service waited for well over an hour. The food was very dry. Very disappointed. Very over priced for what we got. Late night kebab shop is way better and lower price.
We had a terrible dining experience here. We first waited over 20minutes to get a drink and nearly an hour for our food. When the food came, parts of the order wasn’t available however we weren’t told that when we ordered. We waited a very long time for our plates to be cleared and to order more drinks. I would not recommend this restaurant on a busy day.
