If you want real English pub food and a drink then this is the place for you. They play 80s and 90s music which is great for those who remember the songs. You have to know what an English pub is to enjoy the experience as it is not fine dining. We wanted a real meat pie and they delivered it with fries, peas and gravy. It was rich and delicious but we haven’t had one for more than 12 months. It won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but they do make a great cup of tea unlike the Spanish. Great selection of beers available and nice outside seating on the Main Street. The dessert was a warm chocolate cake and ice cream, it was ok. We had friendly and helpful service which was much appreciated.

Stopped for a drink. Nice place , very busy. Had to wait a while to be served as the till had gone down, no one's fault but the guys waiting tables were under pressure. Would go there again next time we're in Gibraltar. Didn't have food so can't comment on that.

Really nice food, portions are good. Had half chicken, lamp Chops and scampi (scampi was on the small side compared to the other mains and they only like to bring one sachet of tartar sauce) Alhambra beer on draught was good. Will eat here again.

Great food and service. The atmosphere wasn't conducive for children but that's not to say it was bad, just not for famies, in my opinion. But great place to enjoy good food and a pint. Great service and nice management.

So wonderful! I loved it and the barman was charming and the server was fast, efficient and welcoming. Some engaging local characters there, as well and a nice dog and cat. Fuimos a The Angry Friar y pedimos la parrillada mixta. En general estaba muy buena: buena cantidad, todo bien presentado y el servicio fue rápido y amable. La única pega fue la parte de la oveja: supongo que hay que tener en cuenta que la oveja del plato debe tener 3 o 4 años, porque la que nos tocó a nosotros estaba realmente dura y no la disfrutamos nada. Por lo demás, todo correcto y el ambiente es agradable. Eso sí, mejor pagar con tarjeta: si pagas en efectivo y necesitas cambio de libras a euros, te lo hacen a 1,50 cuando el cambio real está sobre 1,15, y la diferencia se nota. Buena experiencia en conjunto, repetiría pero evitando la oveja y pagando con tarjeta.

Sitio precioso!!! Muy típico inglés. Comimos algo rápido q estaba bien! El camarero muy atento y servicio rápido. Recomiendo solo entrar a ver el local y sus colecciones merece la pena. Ubicado al final de la Main Street, de precio genial (ojo, si pagas en Libras o con Revolut) en cash, x1.5 en Euros o x2 en Dólares. De sabor y presentación más que aceptable.

El servicio es agradable, pero le falta experiencia. La comida muy normal. El gazpacho es de bote y el fish & chips muy mejorable.

Nice spot offering seats in the sun and shade. Some of the outside seats could possibly do with replacing as we often find ourselves swapping them with other seats at different tables due to missing one or both arms. The little blonde waitress was knowledgeable, friendly and funny. Unfortunately I didn't catch her name hence the description. I have eaten here a few times and would highly recommend the breakfast roll. Continuing our chicken wing crawl, our order was taken straight away. The wings were £10.50 and came with chips and salad which were delicious. Unfortunately we had to politely remind them we'd ordered food 50 mins ago and hadn't been served food. I like the way the cutlery was presented in envelopes.

Un sitio típico British en una ciudad British. Lo "mejor" de la cocina británica. Con tendencia a inundarlo todo de gravy y guisantes. Poca variedad de cervezas inglesas de grifo. Al menos el fish estaba bien crujiente junto a sus patatas congeladas.

Típico pub inglés, el local deja mucho que desear pero te sirven un buen fish & chips y varias cervezas inglesas a buen precio, mejor en la terraza.

The food was not really what you would’ve wished for. I had the steak in apple pie and it was OK not more, and the French fries had a slight fish odor and flavor. I guess they use the same oil for the fish. Friendly staff, though.

Small pub inside with large seating area outside. Not impressed with the lunch we had. Wouldnt eat there again. Not overly friendly or welcoming staff. Toilets grubby. Good beer though.

Had the fish and chips - wasn't anything overly special. The fish was nice but the batter was quite crumbly. I was also seemingly overcharged by 3€. I first attempted to pay on card, which didn't go through, so I paid in cash. The water charged me 16€ but the bank transaction said the conversion from GIP to EUR was 13€. 16€ for an average fish and chips and soft drink just wasn't worth it for me.

Rustic, little, old British pub in the centre of Gibraltar. Lovely atmosphere, service was great, better than the food I need to admit. If the steak had been accompanied by a sauce and the salad had dressing, it would be have been an excellent meal.

Comimos en la terraza, ya que dentro el aspecto no era todo lo limpio que se puede esperar de un local donde comer, los platos típicos ingleses en carta, el frish and chips y hamburguesa es lo único de lo que pedimos que se podría salvar, los perritos malos, la ensalada muy pobre, las guarnición de acompañamiento también pobre, el pollo frito muy reseco, los camareros aunque están atentos van cada uno a su bola con los uniformes, servir en bañador no es muy profesional, pero las dos estrellas se lo doy sobre todo porque el baño es un sitio donde no volver a pisarlo, muy sucio, sin jabón, ni papel, y el descansillo para entrar al baño con cosas sucias y todo desordenado, da muy mala impresión. Tienen que mejorar muchas cosas, no todo vale para dar comidas medio decentes.

No está mal pero no se si repetiría ,los camareros muy simpáticos ,pero la cerveza estaba caducada menos mal me la cambiaron y se agradece , el fish and chips me decía uno de ellos que no venía con salsa fresca tártara el clásico y la verdad estaba bastante aceitoso y seco, las patatas que le acompañaban tiesas y guisantes de bote, el pescado de mi novia pez espada tampoco estaba tan fresco, tardaron en traer la cuenta casi 25 minutos desde que la pedí, comento cosas negativas lo positivo ya lo e dicho los camareros muy buenos, la verdad me gustaría que mejorarán porque parecen buenas personas

La atención muy buena pero la comida deja que desear nos pedimos una hamburguesa y me recordaba a las que ponían en los buffet de los hoteles eso si la cerveza muy buena xD

Food - got 2 fish and chips - fish was overcooked and very dry - chips were ok, nothing special. A side of sad salad. My Mrs got it aswell and both looked the exact same so I would say it's properly fresh. £24 for 2fish and bottles of Corona. Staff - the female server was nice and chatty. The barman was ok. The second barman seemed to ignore us when we went upto pay, just chatted to other customers while we stood there. The pub - main st, lots of seats outside but small I side. The toilets are tiny - as in they only made for 1 person each. So it could be nightmare when it's busy. Lots of drinks available but it's overall just ok.

Asked what non alcoholic beers they had. Barman grabbed a Heinekin 0.0 out of the fridge, opened it with a lighter out of his pocket, sending the top flying across the bar....without confirming if I wanted it. The drinkers beers were flat. Didn't stay long

My first visit in 35 years, Was one of my favourite pubs in Gib. Food was terrible, went for the fish and chips ..... chips were a childs portion of French fries ( this is supposed to be Britain not America) and the fish was out of an a box from Iceland Food shop. The toilet sint was overflowing and the beer was more expensive than in Ocean Village. Never Never again . Hugely disappointed took my brother who had never been to Gib before kept telling him what a wonderful place it was before we arrived. Total embarrassment on my part.

Loved the ambiance and the friendly bartender and servers. Unfortunately, their red wine was not very good and we observed several small roaches running around the table! Cold beers were good though. Please get rid of those roaches guys!

No vengáis aquí!!! Camareros bordes que solo con escucharte hablar en español te dicen en el mismo español, solo inglés. Te entienden perfectamente y te tratan como basura, solo tratan bien a los ingleses. En la carta pone que el desayuno inglés es hasta las 13:00 y cuando vas a pedirlo te dicen gritando NOOOOO hasta las 12 entienden español, le rebates con la carta delante adjunta en la foto y te dicen solo inglés, y así eternamente.

Menos estrellas no se puede. La comida malísima, probamos una especie plato combinado de carne bistec 🥩 y otro de bacalao 🐟 La carne durísima y el pescado era algo empanado que simulaba ser un ex-servio que en algún momento estuvo cerca del agua.

Sucio, una cucaracha pequeña nos hizo compañía durante toda la comida.por lo demás. Seré objetivo, pedimos.fish and chips, correcto, un pudin de huevo y bacón, correcto, y un pollo con curry, muy bueno. La camarera sería y limpia, relación calidad precio un disparate. Nos.traslado a Inglaterra y claro en relación con la hostelería española no se puede comparar.

I really don’t often leave bad reviews. But if you’re looking for somewhere clean, this place is not it. Cutlery came dirty (filthy) asked for new cutlery. The food was “ok” but we’ve definitely had better fish and chips elsewhere. The atmosphere is smelly, the toilets are horrible and it just felt dirty. They also didn’t give us our change- we had to go and ask and were made to feel awkward for doing so. The irony is we would have left a tip… but that didn’t happen! I would avoid.
