An incredibly enjoyable dining experience, albeit a bit performative at times. I did the long form tasting menu and came away thoroughly impressed with the food and the service. The standout dishes to me were the entrees (both exceptional) and the banoffee dessert. The amuse bouches were also particularly enjoyable. The wine pairing was also memorable. An experience I’d definitely repeat.
I have nothing but praise for this restaurant. We chose the Libertad Menu, which was long but perfectly portioned. The service was exceptional. The tables are located next to the open kitchen, and what's most impressive is that you don't hear a sound. They cook in silence, they understand each other, and you can enjoy watching them. Exceptional. As for the food, it was a constant improvement. Something I really appreciate is how they play with textures in every dish. I probably had the best sea bream of my life. I also want to highlight their desserts; both were outstanding, but their version of banoffee was particularly noteworthy. This place is more than highly recommended. The quality, quantity, and price make it one of the best I've ever experienced, and I'm already looking forward to a second visit.
Taking advantage of a leisure trip to Asturias, we stopped at this magnificent restaurant. We happened to be alone on a Thursday at lunchtime, which made the experience even better. The food is served in three spaces: in the entrance hall, where you're served an aperitif, which for me was the weakest of everything we ate; then at tables set up in a hallway leading to a wonderful wine cellar, where we ate a fantastic interpretation of the famous Asturian "Pitu caleya." Afterwards, we moved into the main dining room, surrounding the restaurant's kitchen and in full view of the chefs, which is something I love. From there, dishes arrived, a total of 10, including desserts that were true explosions of flavor. Magnificent combinations and exceptional presentation, as can be seen in the photos. I personally loved the trout, salmon, and sea bream, but the others weren't far behind. Added to all this was the typical accompaniments of butter and oil. Everything was accompanied by a wonderful wine pairing at a very competitive price, presented by a friendly sommelier who demonstrated mastery of her craft. Champagne, Riesling, South African and Italian wines, and sweet Portuguese wines combined perfectly, lifting our spirits and enhancing our enjoyment of the evening. Definitely a place worth visiting!
The whole experience was incredible. From the moment we arrive we were warmly welcomed at the bar with cocktails and small detox bite. We then moved to the waiting area where we tasted their delicious appetizers. And finally to the kitchen. The taste menu was presented and explained by Marcos, where he provided the source of the main ingredients and a bit of the history behind every dish. The atmosphere is very intimate and personal. There are only few tables in the restaurant and the tables are set around the main kitchen so you’re watching the chefs making every dish. Couldn’t fault a thing.
We discovered Marcos restaurant last summer thanks to a gift voucher for my birthday, and it was a wonderful experience. We loved it so much that this year we went back with my sister and brother-in-law (who gave me the voucher), and it was even better! The presentation of the dishes is spectacular; it's embarrassing to touch them because they're so beautiful. The flavors are surprising and delicious, and the service is warm and friendly. Marcos and his entire team make you feel at home and make the dinner unforgettable. We will definitely return every summer. For me, it's on par with two Michelin stars. 100% recommended.
It couldn't be any other way. Attention to detail from the welcome, friendliness, and a lot of work go into each presentation, which can be admired as the kitchen is integrated into the dining room. A few tables provide a relaxed atmosphere for conversation. Concentrated flavors in minimalist dishes, and ultimately, a treat—why not indulge once in a while?
Exquisite service, preparation, presentation, product, and location. As the standards dictate, in my opinion, the cuisine is exceptional, justifying a detour to experience it. In other words, it deserves a second Michelin star. Congratulations and thank you for the experience.
We thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. From the moment we arrived to our departure, everything was perfect. Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted with a delicious cocktail and appetizer. You can choose from a short or long menu, as well as a wine list or pairing wines. Each dish was more delicious than the last, and the plates were beautifully presented. The restaurant has only five tables surrounding the open kitchen. Friendly staff! A real winner!

Marcos Gijón – A Refined Culinary Experience The one-star restaurant Marcos in Gijón impresses with a well-thought-out concept that is evident from the moment you enter. The journey from the bar, through a small lounge, past the wine cellar, and into the dining room with an open kitchen creates a unique atmosphere. The decor is classic and modern, contributing to a very pleasant ambiance. The service is outstandingly professional and attentive. Dishes and drinks were served at the perfect pace and timing. Special requests were handled effortlessly, and the wine recommendations were excellent. Particularly noteworthy was the fact that, as the only guests in the restaurant, we never once felt unwelcome—a true testament to the exceptional hospitality. The menu offered a remarkable variety of flavors and textures, all beautifully presented. Highlights included the grilled tuna noodles and the dessert "Black Forest," both of which stand out as culinary masterpieces. The value for money is reasonable to excellent, especially with the menus offered and the glass of champagne, which was exceptionally well-priced. Overall, the visit to Marcos was a roughly three-hour, exquisite culinary journey. For anyone who values extraordinary food in a stylish setting with excellent service, Marcos comes highly recommended. If the quality remains at such a consistently high level, the name Marcos will undoubtedly continue to gain recognition. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team for this exceptional evening and their high degree of professionalism.

Absolutely stunning. From walking through the door where we were treated to a special cocktail at the bar, to the 'snacks' lounge, where we had a glimpse of the delights to come, and through into the open plan kitchen diner, the experience was welcoming, exciting and delicious. The main food flight did not disappoint either: far from it, it was one of the best meals I've ever eaten. One expects a lot from a Michelin starred restaurant and Marcos' delivers in spades. The personal attention from chef Marcos himself is the icing on the cake of a brilliant dining experience. A must visit restaurant.
Well, food for me is basically ruined now. From the moment you step inside and see what's behind the curtain, you have an experience like no other. Staff are amazing, atmosphere is fantastic and the food is out of this world. Every dish is so magnificently prepared and explained, no two dishes are alike. Never had anything like it before, don't even think about it, just book and go!

An investor driven restaurant, that it is not worth to visit. After more than 15 years experience of Michelin star restaurants in Span, this was the most disappointing experience I ever had in Spain. The restaurant claims to offer authentic and essential Asturian cuisine, but you get copies of international and Spanish well-known dishes with inappropriate wine-pairings. It is an unpretentious attempt to dress Spanish cuisine in a cloak that is unworthy of it. There are numerous local options that offer a better price value experience. Send investors to the area they want to be in without fooling people into believing of getting regional quality. I was amazed that there were such warm and motivated people in the service who try to represent the deceitful offer, the only highlight in this reaturant!
