The best bread pudding i tasted in Sanjose! Love it. Service was very fast even our bill😀we didnt have to wait long! Joey the server is really nice too! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
We came here right after the football game, we were able to sit down as soon as we got there. Their we no wait, service was excellent we ordered and with in 15 minutes we got our food. The food was great and so was the service. Definitely, will be coming back when we visit again. We got the feast it was plenty of food for the 3 of us.
Food was delicious!! Comfortable booth and staff was lovely!!
Lena is amazing! I had a request that was slightly out of the norm and instead of saying no, or “we don’t do that” she politely told me they couldn’t accommodate but gave me options they did provide instead. Above and beyond customer service- very happy with the food she sent me home with as well!
super fast and great customer service! food here has always been amazing, especially the brisket and cornbread. joey was attentive and provided great customer service. brandon the manager was also very polite and made sure our food came out perfect
Kayla our server was great, she made it worth it to come in and get lunch. Come in and ask for her. Brandon, the manager was very pleasant to meet as well. He went above and beyond.
OMG famous Dave's has the best ribs and brisket and cornbread ever!! Got hooked up with some famous ribs and their sauce and I can't wait to eat them!! Also if you go to the famous Dave's in the plant in San Jose and go to their takeout the personnel or fabulous and fast efficient and they give you the best food ever!!
The ribs were delicious and always good when I either eat in or take out. They are always so meaty and it falls off the bones! Aldo, the potato salad is the best I’ve ever had! Rachel is a great server and Brandon is a very personable manager. I always enjoy coming here.
Famous Dave's always delivers when it comes to quality and flavor. The smoky, tender meats are perfectly cooked, and the variety of sauces adds just the right touch. Whether you're into ribs, pulled pork, or brisket, each dish is packed with bold, delicious flavor. The sides are also a hit, complementing the main course wonderfully. If you're a BBQ fan, Famous Dave's is definitely a go-to for satisfying and flavorful meals!
My boyfriend and I came here. We enjoyed the atmosphere from the art on the walls to the music playing in the background. Our server Kaitlyn was amazing and so friendly. The food was great! We got bbq sandwiches. Flavor was amazing portions were great! We both got a bread pudding to share which my boyfriend said it was the best bread pudding he’s had! The staff was great and we would definitely come here again!
I recently had Famous Dave's cater for a small birthday party (8-10 people). The catering ordering was very easy with a polite and helpful employee. A confirmation and reminder was sent before the event. The delivery person quickly and efficiently set it up and provided all of the necessary utensils. Unfortunately she was involved in a fender bender on the way so was a little late, but they comped me with a free pie for the delay! The food was excellent (especially the brisket)--I thought I would have too much but everyone ate it up and complimented it, asking who provided it. I would definitely use them again.
While I can't remember specifically what I got at my last Famous Dave's visit, this may be because I usually get a two part meat and sides, which varies. If there is a Famous Dave's is nearby, I will go to it, and while they are more common when I'm visiting family, this location is the closest to me. When I can, I make sure to pick two items and sides. The food is always good, as is the service, the music is good. And I'm always sampling the BBQ sauce before the food comes. The table is always stacked with paper towels. And I recommend their dessert menu. It's a great place for barbecue.
Bar drinks are great and the bartender Kayla is very kind. Food on happy hour is reasonably priced and the traditional buffalo wings are really good with the spicy mango margarita
I like this place because it has the yummy BBQ.. I like the beans, cornbread, and of course the meat. Ribs, chicken ect.sauce is the Boss to. Add a beer and your in Heaven.
This place was a great place to eat dinner! My friend and I got the Legendary Full Slab, and it was the best ribs I tasted in the Bay Area! You can enjoy a few sides that come along with it, and some cool barbecue sauces. The customer service was great in general, and the ambience was a mildly loud case. The bar, for that matter, was a slight bit more louder then the eat-in booths, but in general, I could stay here all day! The pricing....hmmm...let’s say it was a border-line. Maybe the full slab should be a little bit less.....well, I can say, the ribs are great in general so this place deserves its 5 stars for its signature ribs.
This is the second time we have Famous Dave's catering for our company and it is always a hit! We are around 50 folks and the food is the ight amount, delivered timely and warm and DELICIOUS! The service is wonderful too! I have called the restaurant on Curtner for confirmation or order changes and Josh is always friendly and helpful! He is wonderful and the food is amazing! I highly recommend Famous Dave's!
Manager is awesome helped me navigate website when he seen i was super frustrated trying to utilize it. Hope yall give that man a raise cause he deserves it with his great attitude and helpfullness.
Amazing Food & Outstanding Service! I had an incredible experience at Famous Dave's! The food was delicious—perfectly smoked ribs, tender brisket, and flavorful sides that hit the spot. But what truly made the night special was our waitress, Bella. She was absolutely amazing—friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Her warm personality and great recommendations made our meal even better. If you're visiting, definitely ask for Bella—she’s the best! Can't wait to come back!
Love going to Famous Dave’s. The food is consistently tasty, and you know what to expect. Most recently, I got the “Meal for Two” plate, so I sampled a bunch of the menu items. The chicken was flavorful, the cornbread sweet and moist, and choice of sauces satisfactory 👌🏻 Each bbq sauce has a different twist. Finally, the mason jars they serve for drinks are massive! Thanks Famous Dave’s.
Unfortunately, NOT F.D. fault but... we sat at the bar and had to endure a disgusting drunk dude. My focus was all on him as we tried to enjoy our great food and great servers/bar staff. I was hoping the staff could have gotten him out sooner so the gentleman sitting next him could enjoy his time there but that didn't happen. Staff were all aware and attentive to the drunk and focused on his safety and welfare; as well as trying to assist the other customers. Food and drinks were really good as well as I must say Kudos to the staff for how they handled it. I would have just called police though, so the sober patrons wouldn't have had to hear the belching etc.
My husband went crazy when he found out this place was in the Bay Area, when I tried it, I understood the hype. Food is incredible, portions are big and you get what you are paying for. Taste is amazing. If you are 4-5 ppl I do recommend you to order the feast on the photo so you get to try everything.
For a decent BBQ after a weekend day's grocery shopping, Dave's is a nice place to literally pig out. Grab the pig crown it's honestly a big part of the experience. We feasted on one of the feasts, if you're coming with 3 or more people demolish that thing. The sauces are not too spicy, except the spiciest one you have to special request.
Food was excellent atmosphere was pretty chill the service could have been better we got our food fast but then they never came back and checked on us
Amazing food. Extremely friendly employees. It's a for sure must eat at if you are in the area and love BBQ. I enjoyed it alot. Everything was delicious. It's military friendly to so that's always a plus.. so if you in area please check this place out you won't be disappointed I promise you. Love this place..
We had an amazing experience at Famous Dave’s thanks to our server, Nathalia. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything came out perfectly. She checked on us often without being overwhelming and had great recommendations. Definitely made our visit even better!
Great barbeque. But service rocked. Was taken by how management took care of it s!! Bread pudding was amazing! See Mercedes our waitress and Alex the guy in charge!
Service was great, friendly, fast and spot on! Drinks refilled at the right time, wait staff were attentive not over powering, restaurant was clean neat and orderly. You can always tell when the front works well with the back, this place is one of those places. Platters came out on time and hot! Food was cooked well and delivered at the right time. Very good atmosphere and feeling in the store. Would recommend and will return!
Came with my sister, her husband, and my partner. The food was great. We left full and very satisfied. We had a big dish that was called something like an all American plate or something like that but it had ribs, corn on the cob, corn bread, fries, beans, coleslaw, and couple of other meats. The environment was very laid back and quiet. Just make sure you check the business hours before going because if I knew they closed at 8 I would have come on a different day instead of showing up at 6:50. I'm surprised they didn't say anything when setting us. The only way we knew was because the waitress asked if we were gonna order anything else because the kitchen was going to close soon.
I love this place! The food here is always amazing and I'm sad there isn't one closer to me but it's still a great location at the plant. There are a few items on the menu that are not described as spicy but in fact they are when you get them and they have jalapeños in them. Overall the food is still great here.
Has become a tradition to pass by on our way from working Outside Lands event. The food is delicious, ribs sweet and crispy, the corn bread golden shine yummy, the corn so sweet and juicy. What more can I say. The staff is always great, ready to help.i recommend getting the all-American feast
This place is great! We loved the pulled pork, the tri tip, the corn bread and pretty much everything we had for lunch and dessert. The lemon pie is probably one of the best we have tried. They gave us the kids menus which are like crowns to wear but piggy shaped, and with activities on the back, so it’s fun for the kids. Restrooms are clean and the decoration all over the place is so neat, not like other country rustic style restaurants where tends to seem dirty. The manager and all the staff were very kind as well. We will be back for sure.

Food was amazing quick and excellent service very clean. Everyone was very friendly. I definitely recommend and I would totally come back.
Emilio our server was amazing very attentive and the food was amazing specifically the ribs and corn bread!! Yumm also Brandon had excellent customer service. I will definitely come back and visit.…
Famous Dave’s BBQ serves slow-cooked, smoky barbecue with generous portions, featuring St. Louis-style ribs, brisket, and pulled pork sandwiches. The burnt ends appetizer is a standout, offering tender, flavorful bites. While the sauces add variety, some diners find the meat slightly dry at times. Service is friendly, though wait times can be long during busy hours. Despite minor inconsistencies, it remains a solid choice for barbecue lovers.
Was a great experience but service was slow lacked on server checking up on us for refills etc. They had their own conversations witch was ok I guess but don't forget about us
Good place for some BBQ. I love the brisket and ribs. The sauce is amazing and the people here are very chilled. I had the pleasure of hanging out with Nathalia as my host but she kept a smile. Thanks again.
Decided to get some BBQ for lunch with friend. Pictured is my meal, and it was delicious! The chicken was cooked nicely and not dry. The ribs were delicious, however not the most tender I’ve ever had. Beans were decent, a little sweeter than I prefer. And the potatoes and cornbread were good too. It was fairly expensive but overall a good experience. I also highly recommend their devil’s spit spicy bbq sauce if you like spicy 🔥
The food here is excellent, and the portions sizes are great! I like the different selection of BBQ sauces for different tastes. The restaurant was clean and lively. The only problem we ran into was that their tap-to-pay didn't want to accept our card and put us in quite the bind. Luckily we found a close-by bank and an atm.
Great quantities for the price with decent meat quality. Would have got five stars if the quality has been a little bit better. they have a nice selection of sauce is on the table but there's a sauce from the back that's even better it came out with whatever my platter was and I just had to ask for an extra cup. There's Caesar side salad although it's $1.99 extra is huge for a side salad.
I got to the restaurant about 10 minutes after 8, it was pretty packed, I was seated right away. Hostess was very friendly, she told me my server will be right with me. I knew the restaurant was closing at 9, so I was going to order my food immediately eat and leave. This was not to be. The bus boy "Jason" comes, wet rag in hand, to my table and states "I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but we close at 9 so if you could just order your food to go." I didn't want to overburden Jason or suffer his wrath, plus If the staff doesn't want you there you don't want them handling your food. I wound up at five guys, so the food gets 5 stars. After I finished my meal, I swung by the restaurant because I saw bus boy Jason at the front podium greet station and I wanted to say hi and get his name. They promoted bus boy Jason to greeter while I was gone, service gets 1 star. I would avoid this place from 730pm on, and on days of the week that end with the letter y.
Portions are small for the price ... Flavors were okay... If I pay almost $17 for fish and chips, I expect to get more than two small breaded pieces of fish and half a pile of french fries I paid $5 for macaroni and cheese and it was less than half a cup ...
I ordered on the app and scheduled a time for pickup, that worked great. When I got there the service was a little slow to get any help there were people waiting before me and they had to actually go find somebody to get help at the pickup desk. Other than that it was great.
Sides are decent. Meat is yummy. Just what you’d expect. There was a 15 min wait this Sunday so we went over to Tapioca and get some snow bubble. It was hot af and just what we needed. Needless to say, we were too full to eat all this and had to take some home. The cat fish is excellent and the ribs were on point.
First time trying it, and not bad. Service was kind of slow, but maybe they were short staffed? Food was great except for the mozzarella sticks that were cold and the potato salad that tasted like walmart’s brand. They offer a great variety of food items. Restaurant was clean and good atmosphere overall.

Went there expecting good service ended up waiting 45mins to just get the water and my order taken
Omg there bbq ribs and corn bread along with their chili it is so good the reason I only rated 4 star is because they are too expensive I mean the food is good but geez for bbq food to be charging …

Ok meal..The sweet corn was awful it tasted like water. Nice staff..
Went with coworkers on a group outing. Service was good and everyone had a good time. Fish and chips were soggy. Another coworker didn't enjoy the pulled chicken salad, was oversauced. But, most of us enjoyed our food. Probably best to stick to their primary menu items. Kinda expected better across the board, but it's a decent place for a group outing.
Some very Good Items on Menu, But I have had Better BBQ.
As far as BBQ is concerned, there are better places around. Where they shine is the selection of sauces at every table: Wilbur's Revenge (XXX Hot), Devil's Spit, Rich and Sassy, Texas Pit and Georgia Mustard. Decor is cute and very much along the theme of a southern BBQ cabin. Lighting is dim though, and quite hard to read the menu or see what you're eating. A great place for large groups and parties (check out the "Famous Party Room"). It has a fireplace in the middle, and a huge bar. Overall a place to check out if you are nearby and craving BBQ, but not a destination restaurant for me.
So we ordered the $30 meal for one and burnt ends. Burnt ends was 6/10 it tasted like oversmoked canned meat and the onion straws was a 8/10 . The ribs was a 4/10, edible but so dry. The 1/4 chicken was 7/10 it had decent flavor. Coleslaw 8/10 reminds you of KFC. The beans was a 7/10 nice smokey kick to it. Cornbread 10/10 only complain needed more lol and butter. Pulled pork was a 2/10 it was super dry like the ribs honestly probably left 80% of it because it was so dry. Our server was nice and our alcohol beverages was good. Bloody mary 8/10. Black cherry smash 5/10 it was too strong and so it made it taste like medicine. Strawberry lemonade was a 8/10. House made bbq chips was a 3/10 for me but bf rated the chips a 6/10. Now we thought we was getting happy hour prices but we sadly learned this bloody mary was $11 and my black cherry smach was $13!!! Geezus. Definitely would recommend the smoking pig over this and for the cost we would have enjoyed the food alot more and wouldn't have missed the drinks. Service wasn't bad, guy was very nice. Over all 3/5 stars..
We went to eat last Sunday all the food was good we had the American feast but the chicken either was bad or raw cause my whole family got the diarrhea from eating the chicken we all thought the chicken tasted funny
We came here on Sunday, I know bad idea on Easter Sunday. It wasn't packed like we thought it would be. We order the all-American feast, order brisket, and tri-tip for 6 people. We thought it wasn't going to be enough but everyone left content. The reason for the 3-star was the service was okay, our server didn't come to check if we needed a refill and we were behind the fireplace so it was hard to get anyone's attention.
I HAVE TO HONESTLY SAY… THE GILROY FD IS HANDS DOWN THE VERYYYYYYYYYYY BESTTTTT! This place was just sad. Service was equivalent to a fast food joint. Yawn worthy….bathrooms were AWFUL. Tables sticky, tableware had red lipstick when I asked for replacements I got another set of dirty tableware. So I used my hands, barbaric! Not the same as GILROY. Bring back the GILROY LOCATION!!!!
This place is big. However, not too many people eating inside. We were there around 6:30 pm on Friday night and barely anyone inside. We ordered a sampler plate and a bunch of stuff in it, a salad, a beer, and a coke and it comes out to be about $54. The food was kind of dry and feels like eating cardboard even with the sauce drenched in it. The fries were great and very unique. A bit oily but good. The environment is kind of cool with a farm like feel to it. Lots of seating areas and a bar for those who like to get a few beers. Not sure if because of the amount of traffic is slow so the food is not too good or because the food is not too good that’s why they don’t have a lot of people. Or maybe too greasy for all the healthy eaters in California.
Food came out quick, but the meat wasn't fully warm. Ordered mac n cheese bites, brought out regular mac n cheese & then eventually the bites. Took over 10 minutes just to PAY. My time is precious & …

Food took really long to get to our table and felt really weirdly cooked. Staff was friendly but honestly I felt sick a few days after. Definitely not going back ever again
We love Famous Daves but the service through Famous Dave's is lacking. Visited this location today on 5/20/2025 and it was not busy and the server took a long time to take our order, never checked on us and we had to wait even longer for our check. I guess our time is not very valuable......
Just ordered. Online options are not the same in house. Franchises run their own options. San Jose doesn't offer half slab or full slab. It's a rip. Ordered a beer and there's more head on it than my head. Glass now 2" down and not one sip. Don't care if the ribs taste like lobster dipped in diamonds when they get here, not coming back. Food here. Jackie's Place better
Ordered the brisket... what was that, spam, mystery meat!? Yuck! I'm sure some other items on their menu are of better quality, but I won't be going back to find out. Nice space and the wait staff were nice. Too bad that in their race to the bottom price/cost the business is serving "hot garbage" to their customers (just like many other big chains)... and apparently there's enough demand from undiscerning customers who only care about price and quantity and willing to compromise on quality this much.
Was just here and it was empty with the exception of a few guys at the bar and 1 family sitting in a booth. We sat down, waited 10 minutes & decided to get up and leave. Not once did the server come …

Placed an order on line, went to go pick it up and like always when doing a phone order or on line order they always mess it up they give you the order and you go through it to make sure its all the correct stuff you ordered and its like they get all offended. I mentioned to the guy you forgot the one item and they get all bent out of shape, you ask for extra Bbq sauce and they give you one and then before ordering they even ask for a tip.to top it off food was very cold. I have a tip for you, learn how to treat people better and do a better job.
Our entrees, which included ribs, chicken, tri-tips, beans, and a baked potato, were served lukewarm. The cheese on the baked potato never melted, and the margarine (not butter) that accompanied it also remained unmelted. The side salad, made with basic iceberg lettuce, was served with a bottled dressing instead of a homemade one. The chili beans tasted reminiscent of canned Stagg beans you can buy at Safeway. Additionally, Wilbur's beans were overly sweet. The cornbread was so sweet that it should be labeled as cake and placed on the dessert menu—not exactly a compliment. The flavors of the BBQ sauce were disappointing as well. The iced tea had no flavor. Overall, it was quite an underwhelming experience, although our server was personable.
I’ve been this place for a few time and this time I order a take out and I’m very unsatisfied that they didn’t give any bbq sauce with 2 orders of bbq. The lady at the reception is very cold and doesn’t talk much. I was asking if they can help verify my order and she just said you can check yourself. When I got home there is no sauce for the order and I called the number. They just told me to come back to pick it up. It’s pretty far from where I live and I guess I’ll just have it without the sauce this time.
I’m sorry to report I did not like my Famous Dave’s meal. The brisket was very salty, tough and chewy. The St Louis ribs were old; beef jerky like texture. In summary the meat seemed old and the flavor wasn’t tasty. Not the restaurants fault but the Mac n cheese contained corn kernels-not a fan. Cheese sauce was thin and runny. Beans were ok. Corn bread was good. I ordered sauce to dip and I didn’t receive it. The meal would have been a good value for bbq if the food was good but alas I’d rather have my $$ and hungry. Today was my second meal with Famous Dave’s; my last.
Our server was awesome thank you Matt! But dear god this horrifying unforgettable tasting food it's like eating greasy bacon and the French fries tasted like water on the inside it was so gross would not recommend the ribs were dried out like ripped apart tires for a car like to the stuff you would see on the ground of a play ground I could not finish my food I let my dog smell it and he snarled don't eat here
My son and came here today to have a nice dinner but it came to disappointing meal. We order 2 pcs meat, i had a roasted chicken and prime rib.. chicken is half way cook i ask the lady if the looks cook she said. The chicken is smoke so it's supposed to be like that.. Nahhh… if it smoke its not like that..
I usually don’t write reviews when I go to mediocre restaurants, but this place was far from mediocre. $100 for two drinks and a plate with three meats that were dry and poor quality. The corn bread, fries, and coleslaw were the highlights of the meal- not a good sign. Mac and cheese was soupy and lukewarm. Corn was the worst corn I’ve ever had, no sweetness and soggy. Beans were ok. Service was also awful, workers were too busy flirting to even ask us about our food once, and I had to ask for the check and a drink menu.
Food is trash ! I ordered rib tips last month so I decided give them another shot with brisket sandwich .Bread taste old brisket was cold and tough .A waste of money .Ill never eat at this location again .This has the nerve to ask for a tip online Absolutely Not! Hire new cooks
I went to Famous Dave’s for the first time for lunch. The place was huge but empty. The food prices were extremely high for mediocre food. I was expecting larger portion sizes. Luckily, I wasn't too hungry and I was there with a guest. I remained as positive as possible until service staff mentioned that there machine may not take apple pay. I only had my electronic wallet so that was a fun situation which involved calling a friend. From start to end it felt like I took a time machine to eat at a stale office space with awkward decor back in time to decade without the advancement of technology.
I ordered appetizer rib tips they did not look like what I normally get, they were cut like ribs but no bones, I thought they just did not cut them up. I ate the fries which were great but they do not give you a lot of fries like Gilroy Dave’s did. The rib tips were mostly fat in just 3 pieces I ate there I left a plate of fat like this picture below, it was more fat than meat. I brought the other half home which was 3 pieces and it was just as fatty more fat than meat see the picture below for the other 3 pieces I got and brought home. I took a picture of the fat I got on 3 pieces more fat than meat on the rib tips and that’s only the fat I could get off them. Not sure I’ll go back to Dave’s in San Jose too bad. I loved the Dave’s in Gilroy but they closed down. The Dave’s in Gilroy served a lot and gave you meaty rib tips, and a lot of fries. I’m not paying high prices for a plate with more fat than meat and not much of a side.
Hadn't been to Famous Dave's in a while and was in SJ and decided to get the rib tips combo and bread pudding for dessert. The rib tips are not what they used to be, lots of fat and hardly any rub on them. The cornbread is far from cornbread, more like a slice of yellow cake. The bread pudding was the only decent thing. Quality has gone way down as to what it used to be. Very disappointing.
Ordered online for a subtotal of $68 for burnt ends, rib and meat combo, with sides mac & cheese, potato salad, and an extra add on of mashed potatoes. The add on was six dollars for something the size of a Baskin Robins kids scoop. Corn bread was buttery, soft, and tasted like white sheet cake. Corn bread is supposed to be moist but crumby. The slab of bread is the type of cheap white bread you buy with SNAP benefits and was not toasted or buttered at all. Potato wedges were hard, which indicates it was frozen and not fresh. Meat was delicious, with the pork ribs being the best, followed by the burnt ends, and lastly the brisket, which had a lot of fat but was not evenly spread out, so you would either have a mouthful of fat or bite into stale, dry meat. However, see the image for the portion size. The size of this meal has a value of $35 dollars at best, and maybe $40 if pushing it. This serving size was barely enough for my wife and I, and we are skinny legends who ate easily blown away by the lightest gusts of wind.
