Amazing Spot in Glasgow! Church on the Hill is one of my favourite places in the city — the atmosphere is always amazing, warm, and welcoming. The staff are friendly and attentive, making sure you’re looked after from start to finish. The bar snacks are a real highlight — especially the chicken tenders (perfectly crispy and juicy) and the thick, cheesy pizza that’s absolutely delicious. There’s a great range of other bites too, all packed with flavour and perfect for sharing over a drink. Whether you’re in for a casual drink, a bite to eat, or a full night out, Church on the Hill always delivers. Highly recommend!
Visited tonight, 29th January. Service was fantastic, our server was very knowledgeable. Her attention to detail was impeccable. Thanks for looking after us. Nice Atmosphere before the kick off today. Good to see both sets of fans enjoying themselves. Large selection of beers. Decent food, generous portion of fries. Lots of seats and large beer garden.
Reserved a table for 14 of us before football game at Hampden, 15 minute walk along from it. Big place, lovely staff, lots of staff, food very yummy and what a great atmosphere too. Recommend here for sure x
First time visiting church on the hill on Saturday to watch the Scotland wales rugby game and it did not disappoint. Considering how busy the place was, it still had a very welcoming atmosphere, especially for people who are not locals! …and its dog friendly, what’s not to love?! We were served at the bar straight away and shortly after managed to find a seat to relax and watch the game. Everyone was so friendly and in such good spirits, not to mention the bar and kitchen were still doing table service which was super fast so we didn’t have to move! Staff were polite and made sure we were sorted throughout the day/night. We tried some of the Scottish tapas and it was absolutely delicious! Just the kind of nibble you need when out for drinks with friends. I can’t wait to try the rest of the menu. We stayed until late and also got to hear some of the live music that was on which was really good! I will most definitely be back with friends and family to enjoy more of what this venue has to offer. Ticks all the boxes for me! Ps I loved the interior. It gave off a very clean and cozy yet stylish vibe. 10/10. Thank you (:
I had such an amazing time at the church on the hill the food was out of this world staff was amazing I couldn't make up my mind on what cocktail I wanted so a staff member surprised me with 1 just from asking what kind of drinks I like and got it bang on so from now on when I want to eat out I'm going here loved it
This was an incredible spot for a hungover Sunday evening dinner. It was quiet and we had a booth to ourselves - the service was really attentive and friendly. The food was really good - fresh, with good portion sizes. I was driving so they made a mocktail for me. Top notch!
Fun pub with great vibes and food. Came for drinks and dinner, and I got chunky chips with garlic mayo, deep fried lasagna bites, and the cauliflower. I had one of my friend's onion rings as well which was delicious but sadly they ran out and i couldn't get them as well. There's loads of outside and inside seating, and the staff are all very friendly.
Had the steak for 2 deal. 2 steaks, 2 sides, 2 sauces plus you also get chips, onion rings and corn on the cob with the steaks. And a bottle of white, red or rose wine. It was all delicious and amazing value for money!
Easiest app ever used to order food
Great burgers, would recommend to any burger lovers!!! Also the side selection couldn’t be any better. Super friendly staff, will be coming back!
Always a nice time here!
Lovely cocktails served by friendly and efficient staff. Interesting that they no longer use real passion fruit due to the severe environmental impact. The rice paper equivalent is tasty anyway.
Great service and good selection of beers on tap such as West St Mungo and Paulaner. Dog 🐶 friendly too. Recommend the "weedgie chicken kebab" washed down with a St Mungo
Good gastropub just south of Queens Park. The large and spacious venue has a good food menu, including daily offers, an extensive drinks menu and has a variety of seating (tables, booths and bars). The staff is friendly and the venue also shows sports and hosts a regular quiz.
Really good food, great service, friendly attentive staff. Relaxed atmosphere.
Amazing as always. Sat outside as it was a nice day. Indoor was lovely and cosy when we popped inside later on. Love this place
Great food.. Good service.. quality staff
Love it here great for taking the dogs after a good walk in the park. Staff are great.
Had a fab time in Church on the hill for my first Belfast brunch yesterday. Fantastic venue. Staff and service were brilliant. Food was lovely. All and all great time was had. Will definitely be back and soon 😊
Great pub, love it. Ideal for sport and even kids and family.
Staff were amazing! Everyone working hard and deserve credit. Was the perfect place to have pre game drinks before Aberdeen won the Scottish Cup 🏆🔴⚪
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here and will return. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. Lovely, friendly staff and a great vibe to the place, very comfortable
Good place for a midweek pint. Good range of beers. I like the Baltic IPA. Make sure to download and use your Crave loyalty card for 20%off.
Hands down some of the best service I’ve ever experienced. They couldn’t fulfil our original booking but the length they went to make it right was above and beyond. Great food, great staff, can’t recommend it highly enough
Great spot for family We been on sunday for breakfast with santa Kids enjoyed so much, very good breakfast value for money. Great staff Great food Well organised Will be coming back very often
Best vegan roast ive ever had. Its so rare to find somewhere that does a huge plate of quality vegan comfort food that isnt junkfood fried nonsense... Really fresh ingredients with a lot of thought and effort put into to it. I'm so happy this exists. Please keep it on the menu x Service and staff were perfect and the price was vwey reasonable. And excellent 0% beer selection too.
My favourite local gastro pub. Good atmosphere, very aesthetically pleasing interior, good choice of beer and great small plates.
I come in to church on the hill regularly with friends for a quiet spot to do our Bible book club. Staff are so lovely and attentive, and there’s a great selection of meals, drinks and snacks to choose from. It’s such a friendly neighbourhood spot 🧡
Amazing atmosphere and delicious food. 100% recommend if you're looking for a chill place to spend your evening !
The food was amazing. The portion size was just right, and the menu is reasonable priced. We had lunch, so there was plenty of seating. But what a fantastic place to eat, we will definitely be going back
Great place. I'm always curious what is upstairs and why it's not open for public. A nice concert venue would be handy in the Southside!
Great pub, I go there often. The bar area is dog-friendly and the restaurant area isn’t so it tries to accommodate for almost everyone. There is also an outside area front and back, with the back one getting plenty of sun in the afternoon. The choice of beers is good and most of the ones on tap are nice. Other drink choices are also not too bad. Food is also good, the menu changes once in a while but classics like fish n chips are always there.
We celebrated a birthday with 15 of us. It was the weekend brunch menu and it was brilliant. The food and drinks were great and we preordered, which was perfect. The staff were great and the atmosphere was perfect. Relaxed and comfortable. Can’t thank all the staff enough. Great food. We will be back.
Great local. The burgers are fantastic and there’s a great selection of beers on tap. Love coming in with the dogs as they always get fussed by the staff. Service is always excellent but on match days it can (understandably) slow slightly, that’s not a criticism, the staff are super friendly and professional all the time. The Monday Quiz night is great fun but best to book a table for. We really love coming here whenever we get the chance.
Big fan of the atmosphere. Really nice food and great customer service from both members of staff on today. Definitely going to be coming back here more often
We had the most wonderful time at Breakfast with Santa, from start to finish the event eas beautifully organised and full of festive cheer. The breakfast was outstanding. Santa was absolutely fantastic- friendly patient and truly magical with the children . He took the time to chat with each child, making them feel special creating memories they'll never forget. We cant wait to return next year, a huge thank you to Agie and her team.
It was quite which you would expect on a Thursday. Love that you can scan the QR code at your table and order food and drinks which is then gives table service. Lovely staff
Brilliant place for Sunday roast, delicious food, plenty of TVs for all sport and great games/gift bags for kids which keeps them occupied. Friendly local atmosphere. Their Halloween party looks amazing so I will need to book tickets! Thanks guys for fantastic family dinner.
We went for the rugby - affordable drink and the food is good. Dog friendly huge bonus. The staff were all great too. We will absolutely be back
The first time I have been to Church on the Hill and I will be returning. A modern bar with fabulous exterior, spotless inside, the staff were great and its dog friendly. We got two sandwiches and 2 drinks (1 alcohol) and the bill came to £35 which I thought was a bit a much however the food was decent enough and wouldn't put me off coming back.
Love this institution in the Southside of Glasgow. The space inside changed recently and the restaurant feels more cosy separated from the busy bar. They have a new-ish tapas menu and it is great, some really tasty dishes great for sharing! 3 tapas for £15. Service is nice and friendly.
Food and drink in beer garden good Busy Saturday, not be for a while . Nice restaurant. Good beer selection plus dart board . Visit December 07 th . Place busy food good , beers , Cold town company . 10% service charge for only 2 people . It's not great. I hope the staff get it
Good food and drink made all the better by having a warm sunny day. Hygiene standards were excellent. There was a good outdoor seating area
New menu was good and excellent service but too many screens and music could be turned down a little bit. Overall a good experience and will be back.
Place looked great since last time. Refurb has def added a few stars! Staff very friendly.
I had expected an actual roast dinner before arriving and looked forward to it all week; however, the menu noted the roast was within a Yorkshire pudding. Although the photo does look nice, unfortunately as everything had been soaked in gravy it was all soggy and the gravy was too rich for me. The beef wasn't the best quality and not something I would normally complain about, but there was also too much of it. The signs were there upon arrival and on exit not to get a roast though and in hindsight, should have noted these walking in. In a fairly busy restaurant, I spotted one other table having the roast with remaining tables having burgers and panini's. The other food did look nice and may be back, but won't be back for the roast.
I enjoyed the food and drink but that's not the reason I went there.
Came in for the Sunday lunch which was delicious, but it came with a tiny amount of gravy. We asked for some extra gravy and were charged £2 per person for another tiny portion of gravy. Service was incredibly slow, we were mostly ignored. Wanted dessert but got fed up waiting to order. They also cranked the football up halfway through dinner so we couldn’t hear each other. Most people were there for food and drinks and were not watching the football so seemed very unnecessary.
Decided to go here for food after walking in Queens Park and the food was nice (a bit pricey though). I ordered a Guinness that was supposed to be draught but I've had better out of a can. We were also charged a 10% service charge for serving 2 people...won't be back. The reply below reinforces why I wouldn't go back. It's belittling how you would state all this to a customer. Asking for something to be taken off the bill? You should be telling your staff it's easily rectified. Not me. The bar staff clearly couldn't even tell when this pint was poured that it was wrong. It came with a massive head on it
I was very excited o try this place after it’s been refurbished and reopened, but I was very disappointed. Me and my friends decided to go there for a brunch on a Saturday. Need to point out there’s no way to find out when their brunch ends. So we came at 2. After we arrived, we’ve been told there’s a 30 minute wait for food. Ok that’s fine. It took 30 mins for somebody to come around to take our drinks order and we got them 45 mins after we were sat down. Still no menus to look at and we were being ignored by all staff just passing by. Finally, at three we were told they do not take any more food orders at the moment, but after telling the waiter about us waiting for already an hour to just look at the menu, we promptly received them with an apology and rounds of drinks on the house, but we were told we can no longer order from the brunch menu, because their brunch finished 5 mins ago (It was 3:05pm). Well played. Another hour later we received our food. I did not enjoy the chicken burger, as the chicken was quite dry and avocado hard, but I’ve eaten worse. Also, I’ve had to ask for my dessert, which I ordered at the same time as my main, twice before it arrived and it tasted good but I’ve never seen a smaller portion of a pie for 4£. Overall, the place looks lovely and the drinks are great, but the food and the service was horrible, even tho I respect the waiter for putting up with me when I was starving. I don’t think I’ll be back or maybe just for the drinks, because they are the only thing worth coming back for.
