Opinions de The Smokin Fox Glasgow
Typically in for drinks but went for the lunch deal; good value for a tenner 👍 It was tasty with a good amount of breaded chicken with chimichurri, pickled cabbage, and seasoned chips.
Fantastic service and food. Great beer selection. Looking forward to coming back again next time we're in Glasgow, we had a lovely time.
Me and hubby went for lunch on Saturday. The food was amazing and the staff make you feel so welcome. Big shout out to our server Tina. Will definitely return and recommend to our family and friends
Popped in for lunch during a vacation in May '25 after scoping our some local food spots in Glasgow for the day that we passed through. Very happy we chose The Smokin' Fox. My lady and I both got a pint of the Inch's cider and some chili squid to start. It was very tasty, and a great start. For mains, my lady got the fish and chips and I had the chicken schnitzel, plus a side of the wee mac 'n cheese. My lady said it was her favorite out of all the fish n chips we had during the vacation, and I was very pleased with the schnitty. The chimichurri sauce with the schnitzel was more like a pesto to me, with a nice pistachio and cilantro flavor, and made the dish. My fries were really nice, and so were the chips with the fish. But the star of the show was that mac 'n cheese. The crispy onions on it were great, and the deep onion flavor with it - it was like the best french onion soup that wasn't french onion soup I've ever had. Well worth your time to pop in here. Service was great and quick, and the place had a nice modern-retro vibe to it.
First time here, we had the full Scottish and the full veggie. Stephen O was very accommodating of my gluten intolerance. Huge portions.
Really great pub food, we loved our meal here. The food is on the pricier side but worth it because it all tasted delicious and fresh. They also do a good lunch deal that’s more affordable. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Boyfriend and I picked a restaurant somewhat randomly in Glasgow's city center and the Smokin Fox gave us exactly the pleasant experience we were looking for! Our waitress was so helpful and friendly; she had us laughing throughout our whole meal, she was an absolute hoot! The food was tasty and super reasonably priced too. We had some snacks with our gins (the squid was absolutely delicious) and the fish and chips and a pie. We highly recommend that place for anyone looking for simple but well executed tasty dishes and a great staff ♡
Food was really nice. A friend had the steak and said it was delicious. The drinks were really good as well and would recommend the twister cocktail. Only thing I would say is it is one of the loudest venues I’ve Been to.
I dropped in with friends for breakfast at this club. We ordered "Full Scottish Breakfast" and a starter "Haggis bon bons" which cost a bit too much for a starter and for 5 small balls. But it was good, I have to admit that but the price was not too friendly. Full Scottish Breakfast tasted very good to us, very well prepared, good portion also very filling. Bathrooms super clean! Super well-kept, especially women's. Service very nice, I highly recommend it for breakfast!
As a happy student to drop by this artistic Smoking freeze inside 💠 zone to enjoy the nearby Central station vibe. I like the way they sell anything inside without the usual stuff next door or nearby. Very decent staff who don't have to tell you what to do and assuming we all understood what's going on and speak less when having the nice pubs 🍻 moments No matter you want a drink for yourself, special lunch treat or after usual happy hours. Just come and have a treat and chilling out. 🍻🚂✅🌟🍁💫💡💕💕💕💕💕
This place looks like a pub, but it's the most elevated pub I have ever been to. The customer service is perfect, attentive but not intrusive. They also ask every table about allergies when ordering, which is very thoughtful. The womens bathroom has free hygiene products (always a sign of top class establishments). And the food was typical pub food, but modernized. The haggis balls were delicious and the wee cesar salad was fancy. My only suggestion is to reduce the amount of dressing on the salad. 100% recommend this place.
Great venue for work night out , superb staff , great food and all round good time in the Den
We spent a very enjoyable afternoon cocktail tasting & had some snacks to soak them up. Cocktail tasting isn't an event they offer but after trying them all we would recommend it. A wide range of cocktails and the food was amazing. We had loaded fries, salt and vinegar onion rings and some delicious olives. All of it was exceptional the service was great and we would love to return if we're in the area again
Came here for Sunday roast and was not disappointed! Everything was very tasty and reasonably priced for how much food you receive. They forgot to remove an item that we asked to be removed, so gave us a slight discount which was unnecessary but really appreciated! The vibe inside is really nice, the decor is great but it can get loud.
Nice pub conveniently located near Glasgow Central Station. A warm welcome for this solo female traveller from the friendly staff - live that they gave me a prime position rather than tucking me away in a corner. The food is good, the service excellent. I love the little touches such as free sanitary and hygiene products in the women's bathroom. Lots of television screens - a good place to watch the World Cup.
Went here on a Monday afternoon with family. From the moment we went in staff very attentive couldn’t do enough for u. Food was absolutely delicious I had steak was cooked well and really good. My mum had macaroni with truffle photo doesn’t do it justice she really enjoyed it and i tried also and can confirm it was good. Atmosphere very nice And service very good Was the small details in the toilet they had a basket with deodorant etc nice touch. Overall would definitely recommend
Great time, food was amazing! Highly recommend
3rd time eating at the Smokin Fox. Food is delicious and well presented. I had the steak pie which takes a bit longer to prepare but 100% worth the wait. Staff attentive without being in your face. Only down side is the quick turnaround of table time, when your booked time is up you have to move but that just shows how popular it is so not a big issue.
With unlimited pub options in the City Center of Glasgow, the Fox is a shining star! Fantastic staff, great grub & lovely selection of brews! Noah & Tom - you guys are the best! 🍻🦊🏴
Excellent pub located just a stones throw from Glasgow Central Station. Opted to sit outside watching the world go by in the glorious sunshine. Didn't get food, but from what I saw on offer, it looked decent. Nice to see Peroni Red on the beer list.
Lovely visit really welcomed my two shih tzus Clara Meg lots toys and treats for them hope to be back soon Joy🐶❤️
Great, friendly service from the 2 young fellas behind the bar and nice and relaxed atmosphere in the place. Will definitely visit again next time we're in Glasgow. Update: Visited again yesterday (17.04.24) this time for tea before train home. Excellent quality cuisine and service. Staff very helpful. I had a lovely fish and chips, "The Enemy" had an excellent burger. We'll make this place a regular stop on each visit to Glasgow and would highly recommend to anyone.
Sunday roast was fabulous. Good price, big portion and tasty meal
Popped in for lunch today (Sunday 9th October 2022) and we were very impressed with both the service and the food. The staff are very tentative and friendly. The food is outstanding. We opted for the steak pie with mash and roasted veg which has to be one of the best meals we've eaten in a long time. The other meals that were passing our table looked very good too. We can't wait to come back and sample something else off the menu. Well worth a visit x
Discovered a find in Glasgow, …. Well OK it’s been there a while, but we’ve just found it !! Atmosphere is great, staff are really nice and helpful, the food …. ? The food was delish !! The prawn cocktail 🦐 was ( apparently the best prawn cocktail she’s had in a very long time !!! ), magnificent, my haggis balls ( no jokes please, 🤡 especially not the highland haggis, or the lowland haggis comparison ) …. My balls were amazing and the main courses …. First class all the way !! Great job kitchen ! . . Sorry about the prawn cocktail picture … it was half scoffed before I had my phone out 🤦🏻♂️ Oh, nearly forgot …. the larger is like nectar …. you’ll have to try it. 🍺
Went for some food and drinks here before a concert with some friends. It was the first time I've ever been. The food was incredible.. we didn't want to have full meals so we got a bunch of starters to share between us. I can't rave enough about how tasty it was. The cocktails were lovely too, a little pricey, but nice for a wee treat. The staff were friendly and the place was jumping with people so clearly very popular. But I can see why!
We only went for a few drinks, but all credit where it's due the staff are very approachable and managed to keep service flowing even when it was busy. Might be a new haunt on occasion, came across it by accident, pleasantly!
Visited on a busy Sunday evening while working in Glasgow and had the roast beef and ginger cake. Both really good - team was a little stretched with a full restaurant / dinning area and bar area was busy with a good atmosphere of folk enjoying football and F1 on large screens.
Been there with my partner for a lunch recently, service 5/5 and fish n chips extraordinary. Thx to David and Jacob for best experience! Will recommend to my pals for sure!
My husband and I came here somewhat by chance on our first evening in Glasgow, and we were delighted by the welcome we received from the staff. Two days later, on my birthday, we decided to come back to celebrate here: we were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and very attentive to my food allergies... If you are visiting Glasgow, don't hesitate to give it a try.
This is a lovely wee pub. Very handy for central station. Good was delicious and the staff were lovely and helpful. Nice atmosphere. Definitely be back.
great place - first time I have been and I will defo be back. It's lovely inside, has large screens showing football for the football fans and family friendly at lunchtime with kids menu.
Great experience. Went with wife who is gluten free + baby. Table booked in advance asking for pram space, this was provided (probably worth booking if space needed etc as does get busy). Had the Sunday roast - tasted great and happily obliged some extra trimmings as part of their unlimited trimmings deal. Provided gluten free option (essentially normal roast minus Yorkshire pudding, but definitely added extra to initial portion). Meat was great, good portion
I been to The smokin' fox twice and both times its been amazing. The food tasty, it has great drink choices (plenty of cocktails) and it's a nice bar definitely recommend to anyone that's in Glasgow! I would definitely go more often if it was local to me as this place is brilliant!
Hi, booked a table for 16.45 on Sunday 2nd Nov as it was right next to Glasgow Central and we were heading out to the Hydro for a concert. Dealt with four staff members in all and they were all very courteous and helpful. Great atmosphere, great food and we will definitely be back. Well done all.
Excellent bar/restaurant in the heart of Glasgow. Very friendly and attentive staff, good food and beer, and decent prices. Ended up coming here three times over a weekend visit, and I can honestly say that the Veggie Breakfast that I had on the Saturday was THE best breakfast that I have EVER had. (Previous holder of that title was the Malmaison in Newcastle, but not only was this an awesome breakfast, it didn't break the bank either!) The Smokin' Fox will be a permanent addition to all future Glasgow itineraries. 11/10
I can't fault this place. Really busy Friday night, great staff and service, buzzy atmosphere. Best of all was the food. A steak frite delivering a steak better than many specialist steak restaurants that I've been to. I will absolutely be back.
A warm welcome, great table, excellent service and the food was tasty, good quality and great value. We had the veggie haggis and it really delicious, others had the fish and chips which was huge with crispy batter and succulent fish.
The only bar my niece and I went to in Glasgow last week where we felt safe, did not get hassled, and the atmosphere was brilliant! Thank you to the staff! Highly recommend x
Booked a table for our group for food and drinks. Really impressed with the service. All the staff were outstanding, friendly, chatty, accommodating but not over bearing. The food was first class too, surprised at just how good it was. Cannot recommend this place highly enough, thanks 👍
Been in here a couple of times now, and haven’t got anything negative to say about the place. Nice Saturday afternoon atmosphere, not rammed to the max, plenty of bar staff on so served pretty quickly. Have started going to this pub when using the central station as it’s right across the road from the Hope Street entrance, and a much more pleasant atmosphere than the Toby Jug, which is the go to pub for most commuters as it’s probably the nearest pub to the station these days. Also, a pint of Tennents and a double vodka and coke was cheaper in here than the Wetherspoon down the road. £10.33 v £10.61 Yeah would recommend The Smokin Fox 100% ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Lovely place, friendly staff. Food was delicious, hot and fresh when served. I have only reduced by one star on this occasion as a first time customer coming with work for a night out and 2 out of our group didn't get their main until most people were nearly finished. I will give credit to the staff as they apologised and deducted from our bill. Will come again as all the food looked great.
Easy going, really friendly service, food was lovely, we had a really good time.
Decent pub near the Central Station. This was our third pub of the day. Food looked good but we had already ate lunch. Beer selection was limited. Sam enjoyed her gin. Toilets were clean.
First time eating here, usually just come for drinks in the bar. Very good food, atmosphere and our server was good too - when she was available - but felt the place was understaffed for how busy it was. Felt like she was the only one working the full restaurant area including. Felt for her. Meal included 4 mains from the Sunday menu, 2 sides, 6 drinks.
The Smokin’ Fox is a really nice spot in the heart of Glasgow - cozy atmosphere, good music, and friendly staff. The food is hearty and well-cooked, especially the burgers and Sunday roasts, and the cocktail menu has some great options too. It can get a little busy at peak times, but the service stays cheerful and efficient. A solid choice for casual dining or a night out with friends - definitely worth a visit!
Lively pub serving a range of small snacks burgers and mains. We had the caesar and veggie burgers and everything was delicious. They manage to keep everything moving despite the pub being very busy on a Saturday evening. Sport on big screens and great music. A great buzz.
Very slow service. Sat with dirty plates on our table for over 1 hour
Was really disappointed with the food. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the bar itself looked amazing, with sturdy tables and comfy seats, but the food was where the places looses stars. First of all, the portions were tiny. I got the lunch deal which was fish and chips for £10. The fish was the smallest fish I've ever seen in my life, along with overcooked, burnt tasting chips. I get that this is a lunch deal and obviously the portions will be smaller than the main if they are a reduced price, but c'mon, you can do better than that. My mum got the burger and commented that it was rather bland. I don't want to write this place off, as it does have brilliant aesthetics, and the staff were top notch, but I certainly will not be returning for the lunch time deal.
Had a lovely meal here on Tuesday and went back on Wednesday with a few friends , again lovely food. Popped in on Friday and things were very different. Server was very rude and dissmissive when i asked if there was a table free, waing his arms in our faces ect. Felt very uncomfortable and a bit embarrased tbh as he was loud and people were watching his actions. A lovely girl that had served us the day before was very embarrased by the way we were treated.
