Recently, I noticed this restaurant and decided to stop. Inside, there's a small space to order and seat, but they have outdoor spaces, too. Food is throughly cooked, and there's no fat particles in the food that most restaurants do. Overall, this is my new spot to stop by.

The food here is truly wonderful. I particularly enjoy the meat shish, and I often visit around midnight before heading home. I highly recommend this place; it's a small, cozy spot on the corner. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. The food is freshly prepared, unlike some other establishments where it is already made. I encourage you to give this place a try; I believe you will enjoy it.

I went with the charbroiled chicken, and it was incredible—perfectly cooked, juicy, and packed with flavor. The skin had a nice crisp to it, while the inside was tender and moist. You can tell they use quality ingredients, and the seasoning was just the right balance of savory with a touch of smokiness. I couldn’t stop going back for another bite. It also comes with a generous portion of sides—fresh, perfectly seasoned rice, crispy fries, and a really tasty salad. Everything complemented the chicken beautifully. The atmosphere at Charcoal Kitchen is relaxed and casual, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The service was fast, and I felt like I was getting great value for the quality of the food. If you’re craving grilled chicken, this place is an absolute must-try. I’ll definitely be coming back for more next time I’m in Glendale! Highly recommend it.

What a hidden Gem. Had dinner with one of my brothers several months ago, and I was talking to one of my Nephews about it but couldn't remember the name, or exactly where it was (I wasn't driving). He looked it up and reminded me of the name. The lamb? To die for, as was pretty much everything. The service was on point, and though the cost was not cheap, it was extremely high value for money. Atmosphere I would describe as casual yet classy.

Never have been so motivated to write a review for a restaurant. Been here a few times now and their shawarma is unbeatable. Some of the best food in LA period. So far I’ve had the chicken and the beef and I’d say I prefer the chicken but that’s just my preference with shawarma in general. Beef is still quality for sure. I wouldn’t suggest going with a large group because it’ll take a long time to get your food, but if it’s just a few of you, it’s more than worth driving 30+ minutes to get it.

The food is pretty good. Knocked off a star because of the tipping situation. The employee waited at the tip page expecting me to tip. I tipped the standard 15% since I was eating at the restaurant. By that point, I had walked up to the counter and grabbed our own drinks. We waited for our food at the outside tables. The employee knocked on the glass pane asking us to come in and pick up the food. If you’ve pressured me to tip and had received it, I expect at least some service.

Really friendly staff. Food was just not to my liking. The smell of charcoal was very satisfying though would recommend for a late night eat as there's not much open around it.

June 25, 2022 Below mediocre quality kabobs. I was excited to “discover” a new place. 5 star reviews (all 5 of them) had seemed promising, but unfortunately they were misleading. I have ordered 4 different kabobs, and a side of potato (on a skewer). The potato appeared to be the best (5 stars), the chicken breast was all right but nothing extraordinary (4 stars). Boneless pork - most of it was hard to chew and tasteless, just a few pieces were OK (2 stars). Pork belly was even worse - tasteless and hard (1 star max). Beef lula was INEDIBLE, I could not swallow even a bite. I would not eat it even if they paid me… It was over salted, over seasoned and hard. I’m leaving 2 stars only because the service was quick and friendly.

The woman working in the morning refused to allow me to use the bathroom. I then offered to buy something and she then refused to serve me, stating that she was busy cleaning now. I am not from the area but was wearing a suit and was the only potential customer present. Seemed like blatant discrimination. Don’t go here.

Did try the food! Looks Good but the man handled coin and dollar bills for change on a customer, then didn’t change or clean his gloves straight up grabber the meet after and put in skewers, he had no basic food safety handling care!

Pardon the repost from Yelp, but I gotta do my civic duty and post this PSA here as well: Ho-ly, I haven't been here since sometime in 2025, but things have gotten bizarro dire. I don't know if they had to cut costs or lost their head chef or what, but every component from the hummus to veggies to protein to the sauces are all visually similar, but incredibly inferior versions of themselves. Tonight I got the beef shwarma plate and suddenly the shwarma is flavorless and bone dry, the hummus has the texture of an old bowl of oatmeal and or like a bad tuna salad, the "cucumber salad" seemed to be missing both citrus *and* oil, and worst of all? The sauces! What happened?! They used to have a dilly yogurt and like a meatloaf-style spicy ketchup. Now? It's like a wet marinara and a lumpy, gray-white thousand-island. This place went from hidden gem to extremely disappointing. Do not go here, it's a ghost of its former self. Something has gone horribly awry. They don't even have their refrigerator of quality sides any longer--my wife is gonna miss their borscht most of all.

I’ve been here before and it was great but now was disappointing. Tried the beef shawarma wrap and couldn’t even finish it because it had no flavor. Will never come back again, highly dissatisfied.
