Amazing single origin coffee, smoked salmon open faced breakfast sandwich is incredible and pastries baked in site also incredible. Cute vibe, friendly staff. What’s not to like?
The service was so friendly and accommodating. My chai latte was a definite cut above Starbucks. The Austin Tacos were EXCELLENT. Only thing I'd improve is the music inside is a little loud. It wsd hard to have a conversation inside so we moved outside.
Wow! If you are in the area and want a gourmet coffee with some delicious snacks and food, this is the place. I came here with my friend in October when we were in Kenneth Village and we were impressed. It was a little busy so we had to wait a little bit, but it was worth it. The food was great, coffee was delicious and the service was just OK, but they did have a rush so that could've been the reason why. It's definitely worth a visit.
Just a good as their spot on Olive in Burbank - same menu and greatness. Food is a little on the expensive side for breakfast out but worth it! Everything is made in house or from scratch and very delicious - vibrant sauces and individual flavors. Ketchup is spicy! Drinks consistently good with smooth texture and balanced flavors. Almost ALWAYS busy so seating can be difficult - esp if a-holes working alone are sitting at booths and tables and avoiding eye contact of families who need to sit 3-4. There is an effort tho with several outside tables. Parking in the neighborhood can be a bit of a walk, but it's a lovely walk.
Been coming here for a few years, always top notch, with a very friendly crew. The banana bread, the brisket burrito, the Austin tacos, all amazing. I’m no coffee expert, but I think they have good coffee, with a distinct flavor unlike your Starbucks or Coffee Bean. My wife lives and breathes their chai latte.
I've been many times and I've always had great experiences. This time was no exception. Great food, great service, friendly helpful staff. The brisket breakfast burrito and cold brew are great. Can't go wrong here
Solid coffee and a great menu and pastry case. Hardly ever a seat in the place - but that's a good sign. This is a real neighborhood spot, but worth the drive into Kenneth Village if you're looking to try something new.
Thoroughly enjoy this place. Great staff, delicious drinks, and a very solid food menu that’s a little surprising for a coffee shop. I have to point out how much i love the design of the place as well. The paint and industrial touches work oh so well to achieve something wonderful.
Awesome location! And amazing coffee is totally come back here again. Great place to get some work done on your laptop too!
What a wonderful find! Such a cute coffee shop on a cute street near Burbank! After having dinner in Glendale with my boyfriend, we wanted to find a place nearby that we could stop it to get some work done at, and found Coffee Commissary! It's a cute little coffee shop on Kenneth Street, not far from Burbank. It's a very quaint and cute village-y sort of street. Coffee Commissary itself has a bit of an industrial vibe to it, and lots of seating at both counters along the mirror and booths. Very comfortable and relaxing! A lot of people just chatting or studying inside. We ordered a mocha and a chocolate chip cookie. I thought that they were quite reasonably priced, especially in contrast to a lot of the trendy coffee shops in Los Angeles. They both tasted delicious. I especially thought that the chocolate chip cookie was really yummy and delectable! They have fast, free WiFi, and it's a great place to work on your laptop and/or study, which is what we did! Nice music playing in the background, but not too loud, which I appreciate. An all around great vibe, great value, great food. I'll be back! I love its location and its atmosphere!
Not many places you can find serving great food and coffee at 7 am, but this is it. The angelino burrito, habanero sauce, and brisket hash (weekends only) are my favorites. Service is excellent. Each worker brings personality and lots of effort to what they do here.
Great breakfast burritos! I dare say some of the best in Los Angeles. try for yourself. Nice buzz here - and the coffee is great!
It's a great palace if you plan to order a single drink and occupy the table with your laptop for couple of hours because you don't have one at your own place and making impossible for others to meet up with their friends for a little chit chat. Oh and also don't forget to bring your own food in there in a lunch box in a case if you accidentally get hungry.
Everything was ace!! The server who took my order was all smiles! The food was top notch, and my Iced Latte was amazing. My Mom got a hot vanilla latte, and the vanilla tasted so good; I usually loathe in my drinks. When leaving, I saw their homemade syrup bottles with dates listed on them. In-house made syrups? Yes, and please!! This will be my new weekly ritual! P.S. There were two gluten-free baked goods - a chocolate mini cake and a Polenta Blackberry cake/bar type pastry. Just an FYI for my fellow celiac crew or those avoiding gluten! I spotted an Earl Grey vegan baked good, as well! Thanks for having options for those of us with dietary restrictions and/or lifestyle needs.
I love their coffee .but the prices are high
I recently visited Coffee Commissary in Glendale and had an outstanding experience. The moment I stepped in, I was greeted by the warm and inviting ambiance. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, providing top-notch customer service. The coffee was exceptional, freshly brewed, and full of flavor. The menu had a great variety of options to choose from, and the baristas were skilled in crafting delicious beverages. Whether you prefer a classic latte or a specialty drink, they have you covered.
My first time here and looooved it! 😍😍😍 The rose pistachio cappuccino was out of this world, its flavors impressively reflecting local Central Asian gustatory cultures, and the chocolate-drizzled marble Kouign-amann took my favorite pastry to the next level. With an all-day cafe menu and plenty of seating inside and out—and a thoroughly lovely staff—I’ll be coming back for sure. 😋😋😋
Excellent experience! Awesome food and drinks! Love the vibe! Staff is top notch. Highlight was Tyler! What a friendly professional human!! I'm here on a family emergency and 2 days later he remembered and asked me about it. Wow! It's nice to meet truly nice caring people! I HIGHLY recommend!!
This is an awesome place 4 coffee, breakfast, sandwiches, a few pastries and a little more stuff for brunch on Sundays. They use Clark Bakery bread for the sandwiches and toast which is simply fabulous. It is a local newer Bakery and is incredibly good. A really great feature about their kitchen is they cook eggs in a pan instead of on the flat grill American style which I find pretty rehensible. Instead of eggs coming out as overcooked flat latex paint normal Diner Style , they are defly sauteed fluffy moist and lovely out of the pan with potatoes ,Meats and of course they're great toast with Clarks bread. There are several locations . I frequent the one on Olive and the one in the lovely section of Kenneth Village on Kenneth Road
What a great move by Coffee Commissary to open a location in Kenneth Village. It fits right in with these other shops and restaurants. Great coffee, teas, baked goods and hearty foods. My favorite is the pork belly burrito. It is so tasty and quite filling. A little pricey but it's definitely worth it!
We tried the Coffee Commissary in Glendale as we were in the area for breakfast. I had the California Toast that is so full of flavor. It's simply delicious. Everyone else had the breakfast burrito and by the way they inhaled it I'd say it was yummy. The coffee is so good. I had a skinny latte with caramel swirled in there. The barrista made it look so pretty. It's a huge breakfast menu full of variety. There's quite a few other things I want to come back and try. The cafe has a clean and modern style look to it. So if you're looking for somewhere to eat breakfast in Glendale it was a positive experience. Also, they have extra brunch items on the weekends. So I guess I'll have to go back on the weekend! Hope this is helpful to anyone wondering about this place.
Delicious bakery, different and yummy, same with the coffee. First time I avoided this place due to many people in the line. But now I understand why there is always a line I didn't want to spend my time in. I accidentally met my relatives and was offered to drink a coffee together. OMG, it was so fresh, so delicious. I love this village and the option to sit outside.
Wonderful Christmas experience, everything was great and Coffees just fantastic ! thanks for great service guys we will visit again
Very good coffee (though lagging a little behind some of the fancy specialty places around). Great breakfast food and baked goods!
Loved their breakfast burrito and Texas tacos. Good coffee. Great place for work and to meet with friends. Nice and quiet.
I've been to this place a couple of times in the last month, ordered coffee with milk and their signature cookies. In my opinion, the first coffee was quite bitter and the second was surprisingly soft and aromatic. As for the cookies, they were wonderful 🥳
Super trendy coffee with a simple menu and great vibes. Plenty of seating and street parking. I had a quad shot with steamed oat milk. Barista was super thoughtful to provide me with steamed oat milk on the side. Great experience and will be back.
I recently visited this charming coffee shop and had a delightful experience. The extensive pastry selection was a pleasant surprise, offering a wide variety that catered to different tastes. The coffee beans used were of exceptional quality, resulting in a rich and satisfying brew. The spacious layout of the coffee shop provides ample seating, making it a comfortable spot to enjoy your drink or work on tasks. The customer service was outstanding, with friendly staff adding to the welcoming atmosphere. The fast and reliable Wi-Fi is perfect for those looking to catch up on work or simply browse while sipping on their favorite coffee. One of the highlights was the diverse food options available for those with a hearty appetite. Whether you're craving a quick snack or a substantial meal, the coffee shop has you covered. Overall, a fantastic place that combines great taste, comfort, and variety—perfect for any coffee enthusiast or someone looking for a cozy place to unwind.
I’ve been to my fair share of coffee spots, but Coffee Commissary in Glendale truly stands out. From the moment I walked in, I could tell this place was something special. It was packed, which is always a good sign, but the energy was great, and the service was still on point. Now, let’s talk about the food. Good? No. AMAZING! I started with the Avocado Toast—flavorful, fresh, and with a serious kick. It was a bit spicy for me, but if you love heat, you’ll absolutely love this. The Austin Tacos were the perfect balance—light, fresh, and not overwhelming. The habanero sauce surprisingly wasn’t as spicy as the avocado toast, but it added just the right amount of flavor. From the bakery, we couldn’t resist grabbing a Morning Bun and a Strawberry Glazed Donut. The morning bun was flaky, buttery, and had the perfect touch of sweetness, while the donut was soft, pillowy, and had the most delicious fresh strawberry glaze—not overly sweet, just right. Of course, no visit would be complete without coffee. I ordered a Vanilla Bean Latte, and wow—the espresso was bold, smooth, and had such a rich depth of flavor. You can tell they take their coffee seriously here. The menu has a fantastic selection of breakfast and lunch options, so there’s truly something for everyone. The service was friendly and efficient, the place was spotless, and the whole experience was just top-tier. If you’re in the area, just stop by. You won’t regret it. Five stars all the way!
Very beautiful coffee shop! Open all day from 8am to 8pm. Nice located in very good neighborhood in Glendale. You can park in-front of it. They serve very nice coffee and have a bunch of good food on the menu. Very cool, that they have a station for free water! Also to mention is that there were just very nice customers there, a lot of people working on something with their laptops…
Maybe the best breakfast in the valley?? I love this coffeeshop! The baristas are always nice, the food and drinks are delicious, and they usually have good music playing. Plus, breakfast all day! The soft scramble is my favorite breakfast in all of SoCal. The eggs are perfectly fluffy and melt in your mouth and the potatoes are fried to perfection. I added avocado this time which made it *chef’s kiss*. Maybe it’s because I was slightly hungover but I could have cried from the perfection. I also love their chai—not too sweet or spicy, just nice and smooth. They also carry a seasonal drink called the “white winter chai” which I go out of my way to snag every December. The only downside is that because it’s such a great spot, it’s usually pretty busy, but they move quickly behind the counter.
This is one of my favorite quick service coffee and brunch spots. The staff is extremely friendly, there is adequate seating indoors and outdoors, and the food and vegan friendly baked goods are always delicious. Must Haves: Smoked Salmon Toast, Pork Belly Brown Rice Bowl
Great coffee shop with many indoor and outdoor seats, toilet and water fountain. We loved the place so much that we visited it 5 times during our trip. Amazing hot and iced oat cappuccino and vegan seasonal loaf and avo toast. Great service too.
This spot was recommended to me by some local friends while I was visiting from out of state. Walked over Friday morning and this place had quite the line, but the menu sounded good and inside smelled so good that I stayed. They have a simple coffee menu, and lot of options for breakfast/brunch. Vegan options are clearly labeled which is always a plus. Definitely a great spot to stop for some breakfast! Thanks!

great neighborhood cafe with consistently good coffee and a relaxed, stylish vibe. the coffee is smooth and well-made, and you can tell they care about quality and sourcing. pastries and food are fresh, balanced, and perfect for breakfast or brunch, the toast options especially hit. the space is bright and comfortable, good for catching up with friends or getting some quiet work done. staff is friendly and welcoming, and service feels easygoing, not rushed. solid spot if you want good coffee, good food, and a chill atmosphere all in one place
Finally checked out this place and honestly, it’s exactly what you want a neighborhood coffee shop to feel like. It’s got that cool, industrial-chic vibe but still feels warm enough to actually hang out in for a while. The coffee is clearly the star here—they really take it seriously. I tried the Vanilla Bean Latte, and you can tell they use house-made syrups because it’s not that fake, sugary sweetness you get at chains; it’s actually rich and bold. But for me, the real surprise was the food. I grabbed the Angeleno Burrito, which is basically a masterpiece of tater tots, eggs, and habanero salsa. It’s their most popular for a reason, but be warned: it’s definitely got a kick. The staff was super chill and didn't make me feel rushed, even though the place was buzzing with people on laptops and locals catching up. It’s just a solid, reliable spot with great energy and even better espresso. If you’re near Kenneth Village, it’s a total no-brainer.

Pretty busy most of the time during the day and I can rarely find a good place to sit inside. The drinks are quite nice but I haven’t had much luck with any of the food, yet. I usually just get my drink to go. It is one of my favorite chai latte’s in Glendale! :)
I visit often since it's close to my house. I rarely go here without getting a vanilla latte which is delicious. The pastries are usually good but can be hit or miss. I love the brisket burrito as well.
The coffee really good. Lots of spots to sit in and out, but no one cleaning outside. If they put trash cans, people can clean and remove dirty cups, but there are non. So dirty cups and plates pile on outside tables...sad...
I really love the Iced Vanilla Latte, Angelino burrito, and the vibe here. It is slightly pricey and easy to spend $20 per visit. My only wish is that they had a large coffee size with a triple available (the standard is medium). The music can be loud so not the best place to have conversations, write or do zoom inside which is probably to keep people from staying too long. I like this location better than Olive st. better seating but also crowded depending on the day.
The coffee and other beverage options are delicious ans high quality. The Chai latte is on the sweet side. Wish there was a less sweet, spicer option. The specials drinks are always very fun and delicious. Ambiance is nice. Very spacious and open. This location is always extremely busy, so you may not always be able to get a table if you are planning on staying and working on a laptop. There is a lot if outdoor seating, which is a plus. Nice pastry options. The chocolate chip cookie is fire! A lot of the food options on the menu are overly greasy. The breakfast tacos are pretty good. The avocado salmon toast is tasty, but the bread slice is so so thick, making it a little difficult to cut and eat. Overall, Love this place and taking friends here
First time trying this place out. I got the Austin tacos, a chocolate milk with almond, and a chocolate chip cookie. I also bought some coffee for a Xmas present. Smells like dark chocolate And cherries. Anywho service was great, clean establishment, the cashier answered all my questions. I received my food and waited for my drink at the counter. The barista took a minute to make my drink, which I thought shouldn't take long it's chocolate milk. She called my name and I received it. She put some art on my whipped cream, I loved that she did that. Made my drink feel special. I took a sip before leaving so it wouldn't spill, it didn't taste too sweet but thought it's prob fine. Not until I got in my car that I really started to drink my drink that I noticed it wasn't sweet enough. Then debated if I should go get a hot cocoa across the street at the bakery. I was gonna go back inside but I felt like I would be a bother. On another note the tacos were excellent. I will definitely be back for those. It's scrambled eggs, bacon, guac, micro cicro cilantro and tater tots on warm flour tortillas sided homemade chips and habanero salsa. If I decide to go back for the hot cocoa I'll remind myself to let them know to add more chocolate or simply just get the tacos.
My food experiences here have been great i keep coming back for the Salmon Toast. And my service experience equally has been positive. But the music is so loud that if im alone i usually just eat my food with some headphones and go. But its a fun place if you want to meet with a friend(s) for a bite; i have no idea how so many decide to work/study remotely here though.
Chocolate chip cookie is delish.. the avocado toast… awful. It had some sort of red sauce on it which I thought was odd. Wasn’t a good combo
Tasty eggs Benedict Thought they don't have metal forks or knives so it's really hard to eat some items. I ended up using a metal spoon to eat my eggs Benedict lol. Otherwise great atmosphere and friendly staff.
Pretty good food and a nice location. I ordered the eggs benedict which was $13 at the time. Not worth that much though. The biscuit was small and it was a pretty small portion. Tasted good though. After finishing it I'm still pretty hungry though...will probably pick up an inexpensive sandwich elsewhere to satisfy my hunger. For me and my girlfriend it was a total of $40 to eat here so unless you have money to spend I'd look elsewhere.
Really nice place in the small village, nice decor, friendly customer, good cafe late! Good place for teamwork like doing homework with friends if the Brand Glendale Library is closed! One thing I would suggest you, there’s nice music there but please do not put the volume up! Turn a little bit down!
Just came out for a few warm drinks on a cold and rainy evening. All our drinks came out quick, and were tasty. I like the vibe in here, it's mellow and relaxing I liked the mirror in the bathroom Would like to try the food here next time
Abby & Lexi were amazing. True sweethearts ! I came here for coffee and ended up getting the truffle tots as well. The coffee is truly amazing and all organic which I appreciate! The food however was subpar. I got the truffle tots and they were cold. My cheese never melted which was disappointing because they were a little expensive. The cheese kind of just congregated at the bottom of the bowl instead of melting onto the tots.
Commissary has such a cool vibe, and their food is incredible. I had their brisket hash and absolutely loved it. I also had a few bites of their spicy chicken sandwich which was really good. There were both indoor and outdoor seating options, but I’d make sure that if you want to get a booth or something inside that you get there earlier to claim a spot. This looks like a great place to get some work done!
Excellent coffee! Loved my cappuccino. The chocolate chip cookie was fantastic. I honestly would come back just for the cookie. The ambiance was lovely. Had mostly good vibes The angeleno burrito wasn’t too bad. Wish the habanero sauce was spread more throughout the burrito and i found the cheese crust on the outside to be way too salty and had to peel it off. Will be back to try other items on the menu :)

It was about as busy as you'd expect a coffee shop to be at 9am on a Wednesday but service was quick. I got smoky campfire latte and the bacon egg and cheese sandwich. Both really hit the spot. I look forward to coming back and trying the other seasonal items.

Delicious coffee, great food, especially the avocado toast, but the croissant is something incredibly disgusting. There was so much oil/butter in it that it was literally floated in oil. Please stop doing business with this bakery, they have no clue what a French croissant is!
Coffee is okay. Got a drip black and it was expensive for drip. Seating selection is good and has several options to set up shop. It can be a bit loud at times with the music. Service was good!
We have visited this coffee shop several times. We really liked it before. The food is really good and I personally like the coffee. The space is great because didn't feel crowded. However, today was obnoxiously loud and heavy. Customers service is just okay. In the past we didn't mind they don't smile and don't feel they care, but because the noise (music) today you ended noticing it . We are gonna try again, hopefully they fix the music volume
"Out of Espresso". I can see two grinders from the counter that are full of beans, with adjustable grind size. The pour over was okay, the Austin tacos were delicious. I came for the specialty drinks that have such good reviews here, walked from downtown Burbank in fact, but instead they said all they can do right now are run of the mill coffee drink that are available at all of the shops I passed on the way. Use the grinders!!
Commissary has always been a short walk for me and I enjoy the lovely seating area of this coffee shop. It’s great to read or get work done, my problem is the coffee. It’s not too bad on it’s own but I don’t understand what kind of coffee shop only puts 1 shot in all their espresso based drinks. A extra shot to make it the standard double will be an extra dollar on top of your overpriced coffee. Enjoy
Not sure why I stopped. This place has a cool vibe and good quality products. Friendly staff. The downside to me is the laid back take on service. Ordered 2 cubanos, couple customers in front but not excessive. Waited 20+ mins to get them served at about 4-5 ounces each. Order ahead if you can I guess. Its always packed and a great hang out spot. But the turnaround has always been slow for the 10+ times Ive been. Even if not in a hurry not to my liking.
Great place and vibe, nice, tasty food and I’ve been here many times to work but I have to say: after my last visit I have to reconsider coming back as the music is quite loud and very hard to concentrate if you plan to work from here. It seems to me from all the times I’ve come here that a lot of people come to this coffee shop for studying or working and I’m inviting the owners to lower the speakers as even with my headphones on the music is still quite loud. Thank you!:)
Everything is cool honestly but you guys get complaints regularly about the music being way too loud and you don't really listen. A lot of people come here to work and it gets incredibly hard to focus when Mr. Brightside is playing at full blast
Ordered a black coffee. It had a sour taste. Not a rich coffee flavor I was expecting from this nice place. Also they do not serve half and half. Just milk. Weird.
Great vibe, coffee and pastries are great, I would recommend that. But think twice about ordering food. I’ve ordered maybe half a dozen times here, hoping that it would be better, but it really isn’t. Attached photos of the potatoes, and how it’s cooked. At least they keep their quality consistent. Also took 40 minutes to get my order of eggs and potatoes.
Good food, good coffee, but always slammed and understaffed. Hope they’re paying their baristas well. This is our go-to coffee place but recently had a mobile order that was cancelled 20 minutes after it was ordered (about a minute before I arrived for estimated pickup) - that sucks. Come on guys.
I was very excited to get breakfast here. It started out great. The front of house service was awesome. They made a chai latte exactly how I wanted. I ordered the breakfast burrito with brisket and I was delicious.. but it took 21 minutes. It wasn't even very busy there. I don't know if it's always slow in the kitchen or if I went at a bad time. Maybe I'll try again when I'm not in a rush.
I've been here a few times and I will probably avoid it in the future. The prices seem high and the orders come out grindingly slow. The coffee was fine, but not better than a chain coffee shop. Inside seems louder than usual. The avocado toast is pretty good, but I wouldn't go just for that.
Food and coffee is bomb. Really slow upload speed, and it's hard to concentrate on work when they're playing club music at 100 decibels on a Monday. I love this part of town and I can always find parking, but I know they get complaints about their music being too loud all the time. I just think it's time to fix that! People go to coffee shops in LA to work or talk with people, and that's nearly impossible to do here.
Their food is more hit than miss -- the one major being those stones they call breakfast potatoes. Crispy chicken sandwich and chips are constantly good. Coffee is okay. Everything is a little overpriced. Service, however is pretty bad. The place is popular, lines happen, thats fine, but the register workers on my visits have been either overly chatty or just plain slow, making the line not only long, but slow. Their communication is also pretty bad. I ordered two meals online once and never again. The first sandwich was ready when I arrived so I waited for the other. I asked if my order was coming up after a while and the worker just told me to wait. After waiting another five-ten minutes (first meal getting cold now) I asked again. Lo and behold, my second sandwich was out-of-stock and that order canceled. All I got was a "sorry."
This is a hit or miss place. Coffees fine, but I normally get cold brew so that’s easy. The place is on Kenneth so it’s really the only cafe in walking distance for a large community of ppl. The staff are sometimes overwhelmed and that has led to crazy long waits for a coffee. The biggest issue personally is that the music is way too loud. I’m all for background music, but since the music changes depending on who’s working sometimes it’s blowing out the doors.
5/11/2023 Visit Friendly service. Busy late-breakfast to lunch crowd. Place orders at the counter. Limited table service. The food was mediocre. Definitely a vibes spot. I ordered Truffle Tots along with that week's special: Forager Toast — Mushrooms + Ricotta. It was meh. I would've preferred my bread to be more toasted + crunchy to balance the softer textures of the toppings. The assorted mushrooms needed to be seared/grilled or carmelized for a crispy meaty texture. Instead they were underseasoned + had a steamed, flaccid, almost-soggy texture. Not enough lemon zest. Needed a finishing salt + cracked black pepper to boost the ricotta. The truffle tots came out lukewarm so I sent them back. The second batch was better; however, light on the truffle flavor. I've definitely had better. My teen ordered the Protein Plate + hated it. The sausage + bacon were dry + tough, eggs + potatoes were middlin. My aunt enjoyed the Soft Scramble, which was a very basic egg + potato dish. Coffee was on par with similar boutique coffee shops. We shared the Cinnamon roll made with crossaint dough. Not overly sweet, which I prefer. But I've also had better.
I visited Commissary Coffee recently and was impressed by its spacious location. It's great to have ample room to relax and enjoy your coffee. However, the lack of parking was a downside for me. Additionally, I was disappointed to find that the espresso shot I ordered tasted over-roasted, and waiting 15 minutes for it was quite frustrating. Overall, while the atmosphere and space were positives, the issues with parking and coffee quality left something to be desired.

Tried their pumpkin spice holiday drinks. They were watery, bland, and lacked any sweetness. I had asked for an iced drink but got it hot instead. They fixed it, but didn’t add much of anything to the drink. 2 drinks for $14 is not worth it here.
I had not been to this place since it opened 5 years ago. Eating there is a nice atmosphere on the outside tables. Beyond that the prices are outrageous for the neighborhood. I paid 21.00 for coffee and a breakfast burrito that was okay at best. Incredibly disappointing amount of food. The dining room was so dirty no one cleaning the tables. I expected better service and that they would be wiping down the tables. I watched numerous people grabbing napkins and wiping the table down from the previous diners. Yuck! Especially with Covid in our lives I will not come back. Sadly the owner of the Kenneth Village allowed a daycare facility to take up a huge space that was parking so good luck with getting a place to park. I live down the street so it is a bummer.
The coffee is decent and the service is pretty good, but the food is very disappointing. The fried chicken sandwich wasn't a sandwich at all, instead it was two dry day-old small chicken tenders on a bun. Seriously, I think the tenders they put on the bun were left over from the day before. Very dry and gross. I do not recommend getting food from here, only coffee.
A sad day has come when I have to leave a bad review for a place I really liked. Minus it being a little pricey, the flavors and quality of drinks is good and I’ve only had their lil breakfast burrito, which quickly became my favorite to the point of me daydreaming about it. However, the past few times I’ve ordered it I’ve been disappointed. The potatoes were either over cooked and dry or the bacon was. This last time today it was all of the above and beyond. The potatoes were rock hard and inedible. Luckily I eat slow otherwise I could have cracked a tooth possibly. I don’t know why they would even bother putting them in at all. I probably won’t be coming back here anymore since it’s become a pattern and not just a one time incident. Sad day for breakfast burritos😢
I'm a local a block away visit 3x times a week food it's Amazing. However the lady with short hair is the worst cashier makes you feel on welcome has no smile or greed you. Try to make conversation by telling her with a 😃 smile "you should already know what I drink I come here 3x a week, employees at straburks master my drink because I'm a regular daily. They make me feel special." Her response was by the time you leave I already forgot with and attitude and made fun of me with her coworker. Sadly 😥 I love the food so I have no choice to see her miserable face food keeps me coming other then that I would take my business elsewhere.
Workers here are usually slow but today they were in another level. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I rarely leave a review but I have to for this one. I honestly couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Went in and got in line… a girl was ahead of me and I noticed she was just chatting with the person behind the register (not about coffee or anything consumable). A line started forming and they literally didn’t care. Person behind the register saw and carried on with the conversation. When it was finally my turn and after I ordered my drink, I ended ip waiting another 30 minutes for my drink to be made because the baristas were too busy talking instead of making the drinks. At first I thought maybe they’re just backed up with other orders, but nope. Just standing there and telling stories, not working on the drinks that needed to be made. I thought I was being punker. I honestly don’t think I’ll ever go back in there again. Such a shame too because I live around the area. Sad for the store owner to have such lazy people working there.
Horrible service. The waitress was very rude. We entered the shop, she did not acknowledge our presence. She was chatting with guys. Then she took the order and said the coffee will be ready in 5 minutes. 15 minutes passed she was talking with her coworker. When we inquired about the order then she realized that she has to make it.
I’ve been here four times now and every time the food has disappointed me. Also, very overpriced. The coffee is not bad. The workers are nice. Food however, not nice. Fun place to hang out though.
The matcha latte was so BITTER and the deserts were not cooked, and not soft. I do not recommend this
It might have been the worst-tasting coffee I have ever had. I asked for a hot coffee, and they gave me lukewarm, and it tasted horrible.
I've been a regular at Commissary Coffee in Glendale, and there are certainly some things to love about this place. The staff is consistently wonderful, and the breakfast options, especially the avocado toast with egg, have been a favorite of mine. However, my recent visit left me a bit disappointed. When I asked for some hot sauce to go with my meal, I was surprised to be told it would cost an extra dollar. Given the already higher-than-average prices for items like lattes and avocado toast, this felt like an unnecessary additional charge. Moreover, after I received my order, I was offered the chance to speak with the owner regarding my concern about the hot sauce charge. While it's nice to have an owner who cares about customer feedback, it's unusual to be asked to talk about such a small matter. In the end, while Commissary Coffee has its charms, I can't help but feel they may be getting a bit greedy with their pricing strategy. I've visited many similar places that offer complimentary condiments or have a more customer-friendly approach. So, if you're willing to overlook the occasional nickel-and-diming, you might still enjoy your visit here. However, be prepared for some unexpected charges, even after spending a substantial amount on your meal.
I can no longer drink coffee. I used to enjoy this place coffee was decent. However once I no longer drank coffee & moved to matcha , I was extremely disappointed in this place coffee. The strawberry MATCHA was awful. The barista who made my drink was also snarky & rude. I had to double check if what I ordered was matcha & her rude response & look was a “yes”. I told her I was expecting strawberry puree or something. The shade of matcha was also a sewer green. The taste of the drink was absolutely disgusting.you can also taste the powder . I was so angry I paid $8 for a drink & tip only for rude treatment & a drink I almost considered a refund for. I was so disappointed that I drove to another coffee shop only to get a better tasting quality matcha drink. Suffice to say that if you want to try their matcha. Don’t. The baristas need more training in making matchas. I included a photo from comissory’s drink & the better drink from another coffee shop
I loved coming here until I had an unpleasant experience today :[ I ordered a hot drink online - so when I came into the store, I wasn't expecting to see an iced drink since I ordered a hot one. I thought the iced one at the bar that was made already, was for someone else. I understand that mistakes happen, but it was the passive aggressiveness from the barista. It felt rude as the handoff, and left me feeling so weird. It was just a bizarre experience after I had shown my receipt of what I ordered to the person at the register, so that there wasn't any confusion or miscommunication. That is why I felt compelled to write this review, after the blatant ignoring of what I actually ordered, twice.
Ordered Matcha which ended up being oat milk with syrup(and I didn’t ask for it), when I asked barista why matcha isn’t green I was told “if color matters I can add more”. Didn’t feel like arguing but won’t be coming back.
