Great quality fish. Lots of choices, they had a special menu with a salmon dragon roll. It had salmon on the outside and the inside for $20 a roll. They have the price on the menu for some reason. We ordered two of them. The OMG roll was also very good. I enjoy this spot it is small and cozy. Originally, I found this place because it said they had beer on draft, but they do not. They do have large bottles of beer, though.
Coming out of the Ikea we were hungry so we were looking for a place to eat. We were very very lucky to find this place. The service is great the people are really nice and the food is exceptional. I highly recommend this place. Thank you had a wonderful people that took care of us at lunch yesterday.
The OMG roll was appropriately named. So many great flavors packed into a single roll! The curry was also very tasty and filling. Definitely found our new spot outside of little Tokyo and to make up for Tokyo Yakitori leaving. Don't let the unassuming strip mall fool you, get in here and be pleasantly surprised by this little gem.
I live close to Tokyoya Sushi and have been going there for a while now. It would be remiss of me to let another day go by without leaving them a 5-star review. They’ve got solid food at a great price. I wouldn’t keep coming back time after time if that weren’t the case. The sushi is on point, and I also like to order their chicken teriyaki plate.
Incredible place. I have been about 10 times. The atmosphere is clean, the staff are kind and take special orders like not adding wasabi or sesame seeds. My brother gets tonkatsu curry and i get the moto sushi combo. It includes 5 nigiri pieces and 5 rolls with just seaweed, rice, and your choice of tuna ot salmon.<i get salmon> Would recommend!!
Yum just had my first meal here and it was so good! I’m a sushi snob and the sushi here is so good and fresh! Thank you!!🙏
Bento Box was so good! Cashier lady was friendly. It looks alright from the outside but inside is actually pretty clean and has awesome Japanese themed design, as it should. I'll probably come back again for lunch.
The pork tonkatsu, the salmon sushi, and the spider roll we had were well made and delicious.
Love this place. Coming here since 2019. Delicious everything!
Wonderful spot! We got the Unagi Nagiri, Dragon, Ichiban, and Hopelee rolls and they were wonderful!
We were in town apartment hunting from my son and were long overdue for a good sushi meal. I looked at all the reviews online and found this place and we decided to go. They definitely did not disappoint. The fish was extremely fresh and the rolls were very good. Very flavorful and decent size - not too big, not too small. The entire meal was thoroughly enjoyable. Highly recommend.
My take out order was accurate and the food was full of flavor and reasonably priced.
Been coming here for years. The food is consistently great. Staff is always very attentive and kind. They have a great variety of stuff and are always improving their menu
Just tried Tokyoya for a late lunch and it was fantastic. A nice little restaurant, great service and the chef's-choice nigiri was amazing. Each piece was perfectly prepared and seasoned and it was clear that they had designed it as a culinary journey. And! I had lots of delicious food for a reasonable price. I will definitely be coming here again.
Stopped by this sushi joint, I’d seen it on Google and wanted to try it for a while. I got seated and had my order taken quickly. My choices were the Dragon Roll and Philly Roll. Both tasted great. They do a great job on the rice and the fish was top notch as well. They delivered everything I wanted and the service was friendly too.
Excellent sushi in Burbank. Their omakase menu is amazing, the 7-courses menu is the one you don't want to miss. Service is way above standard. If you are in Burbank try this place out. Chirashi is another amazing dish. Great value for the quality of food they are serving. The vanilla ice cream tempura dessert is a lovely surprise.
Don't Judge This Amazing Eatery By it's External Appearance! The food and service are excellent and the vibe is very authentic. They have a great selection of raw and cooked choices, and several veggie dishes. Enjoy!
This place was an unexpected surprise. My friend wanted to come for her birthday. The first thing I thought was strip mall sushi? I'll go back! Great food priced right and the service was perfect. Parking can be challenging as the lot is small but definitely worth the trip. Don't let the strip mall fool you! Get in there and have some good sushi! The roles were really good too!
Exceptional service and food quality, fresh wasabi complete with full menu of authentic Japanese cuisine. A+
First time eating here. I got the dinner combo - their food was fresh, delicious and it came out fast. Isabella was my server. She was genuinely nice and attentive. Will be coming back.
Wonderful atmosphere, love the green tea and the cup ! Love the place ! I felt like I was in Japan ( which I lived there for 5 years) . Especially when someone also can speak Japanese . Feels like you are there . When I will go back to LA , I will stop there again . Thank you for the wonderful service and food . It is worth going there .
I really loved the sushi at Tokyoya Sushi. I've gotten a couple different specialty rolls and love them both! We also split some sake that was very delicious. If you're looking for some really great sushi Tokyoya is a must. I highly recommend and would love to come back.
I always passed by and didn’t think about stopping in… but once I did…. I was sold! Such Wonderful service. Fresh seafood! 3 way uni was insane! Everything was great! Love this small place! The sushi chefs are very nice, the girls working there are super sweet! Dian was our kind waitress and she was so friendly and attentive! This place is a very clean and cozy spot. It’s definitely a gem in Burbank !
Oh my goodness! I have found my go-to sushi spot in the valley!! Went here for dinner with a friend and was so impressed with the quality of the fish. So much so that I came back the following night by myself!! The main chef is amazing, staff is great, and restaurant was clean! Very much highly recommend!!
Wonderful place to get high quality and delicious sushi. The blue crab hand roll is mild but very tasty, and the mackerel and huge Hokkaido scallop Nigris are my go tos. Highly recommend you try out Tokyoya! :)
Ive been coming here since the pandemic started and have been here several times. The staff is super clean, super attentive and always provide great service. The food is incredible, ive tried half their menu already lol the food is just as good as it looks in the pictures.

This place is amazing from their sushi chefs to host and servers .great hospitality im visiting from texas and I love this place. If u in Cali LA area u must try this place .
I don’t leave reviews lightly—I’ve eaten here at least six times before finally writing this. I drive about 20 minutes one way from Encino to Burbank, and it’s absolutely worth it every single time. This isn’t a big, flashy, overhyped spot, but every dish is phenomenal and consistently executed with care. The quality, flavor, and attention to detail are outstanding. Honestly, part of me almost doesn’t want to post this because it feels like a hidden gem I want to keep all to myself—but they deserve the recognition.

enjoy coming here for dinner (dine-in or takeout), I’d recommend the salmon teriyaki
Most of the food was fresh at an off peak time. Service was great. Water tasted a little bit like cleaning solution. Scallops were a little disappointing and felt like maybe had freezer burn.
Let me start off with the most positive thing about this place: the food! Which is what you want to hear when you go to a restaurant, right? Good food. In this case, good sushi. Really good sushi at an affordable price. I strongly recommend the Cucumber wrap. That crunch and savoriness of the fish... hits! And the ex-girlfriend, unless you don't like little fried onions. What you skip: the baked scallop roll. It just wasn't it for me. Wasn't horrible, but eating everything else.... felt lacking. Okay, the not so good part of this place: the service. I will preface this with they do have a "help wanted" sign outside their door. And don they need it. I don't think it's entirely the lack of staff. After waiting 20-25 minutes being seatee and asking if there was a list to put our names on, one of the wait staff came over and asked the billion of us outside waiting to be seated if he added our names to the list. Like, dude, really? Whatever. We quickly made work with the menu because we hungry but had to wait almost another 10 minutes to have someone our order, which we wrote out because we had all the time in the world. Fine, whatever. Then I started noticing people that came in after us getting served before us. Which is a not a pleasant thing for a hungry, paying customer to see. On top of which, when our dishes started coming out, they would forget things. Hmmm. Now, I've been to some places that were short staffed but the staff that was there was on it. Perhaps to each their own. We did notice while that take out and delivery orders got preferential treatment. Now, a Friday night might not be the best night to dine with the shortage of staff, the long wait and the inconsistency of service, but take out seems to be a winner.

This is a small place in Burbank with friendly service and nice food. I enjoyed the Ex-girlfriend roll, although I was cringing as I pronounced my order to the server. You can get many of the typical rolls as well as premium special rolls that are on another. I would have liked the portions a bit larger. I thought the rolls were a little small although mine was covered in crispy onions. The small portions translate into a not-cheap meal.
3.5 stars. Based on what we ordered. Grilled chicken bento and grilled chicken with spicy sauce including tempura with steamed rice and a couple pieces of veggie sushi. Along with a portion of salad and sides. In addition we had 2 bulgagi. Dinners with same tempura and fried chicken. This was good, however the rest of the dishes was okay. was as they say, nothing to write home about. As always, please post wherever your palate takes you in, in this case , Burbank.
I finally ventured out beyond my sushi “go to” the fish was fresh and service was great. Out of the many things I ordered I got the Kobe hand roll, I liked that it came with a soy wrap and the house made sauce was 🤤. I ended up ordering two… I also got the Marilyn and toro sampler 😍

Good Sashimi, very small portion, pricey. I ordered salmon yuzu w/ truffle oil. Six pieces of salmon 3/4” x 1-1/2” x 3/16”, nice presentation. For approximately 2-3 oz of sushi @ $19, at 3oz that’s $100/lb. I thought the portion was miserly. I should have gone to a seafood restaurant. Sorry I didn’t take a picture. Typical restaurant pricing is 1/3 food cost, 1/3 labor, 1/3 profit. It took minutes to eat it was so small. This was just a micro appetizer. I was still hungry, Not worth ordering more, so I went across the street to Summer Buffalo to eat.
I’ve been coming to this place for years—well over 10 visits—and today was the last straw. I ordered the chicken udon, and what I received was basically a vegetarian udon. I honestly thought they forgot the chicken completely. When I asked the waitress, she told me I could “add extra chicken for an additional charge.” What a joke. After digging through the bowl, I finally found about five tiny pieces of chicken, each the size of a peanut. I pointed it out, she spoke to the chef, and then they both laughed about it. Completely unprofessional. After so many times giving this place my business, this is the last time. I walked out extremely disappointed. The chicken udon is a total scam, and the service today was disrespectful and unacceptable.

I'll preface that I have eaten at Tokyoya many times. Sadly, on this occasion I got extreme food poisoning, missing school and work for two days. I experienced borderline norovirus symptoms. I say this because I have had it before. I reached out twice and never heard back from the management. I ordered two rolls, and my husband ordered sashimi. He did not get sick but I did, and I had nothing else to eat that day. I spent over $80. I will not be returning. Be very cautious!
