Bootleg Chicken

Bootleg chicken is my new favorite lunch spot! Right across from the park, we can eat lunch and go play afterward. The food is very good, the staff was so kind and welcoming, and the restaurant is very clean and well put together. They even have a couple of goats in the back that are the mascots 🤣 Cute place

Chicken tenders were cooked just right and waffle fries were great. We also had desserts that are baked in-house. We even got to see the little mascots out back. Owner introduced himself and gave us background on how the restaurant came to be. We will definitely visit again.

Really neat atmosphere, friendly staff, and great food! The women's bathroom might be haunted, the door kept slowly moving and making creaking noises! 👻 We'll be back forsure and tell our friends!!!!!

Visited our new chicken place in town today! It was great. The food was great! Between our family, we tried the nuggets, tenders & grilled chicken combos with thwir waffle fries! All were delicious! The atmosphere was fun! The restaurant was very clean and great service. We had interaction with 4 employees, and all were pleasant! The owner was helping our youth behind the counter learn the ropes of service while being respectful. It was nice to see! We would definitely recommend this place!

What a treat! Passing through town on our way home and made a quick stop at Bootleg and we were SO impressed. BEST fried chicken since we were kids! Light, seasoned and fresh. No fat, not chewy. Customer service was great!

Chicken was great atmosphere was awesome. Met the owner, super friendly! He even offered a hose to water my horse, plenty of room to stretch your legs after a long trip!

Always wanted to stop and try them out on our way to Fredericksburg. Finally stopped on our way back to the metroplex. I ordered the steak finger combo. Fresh and hot! Tender and tasty. My husband order the chicken tender combo and enjoyed every bite. The waffle fries were great as well. I also back in a fresh baked cinnamon roll! We enjoyed the retro photos inside the dine in section.

Stopped in here for a quick lunch break. I have no regrets whatsoever amazing food the owners are just incredibly sweet very kid friendly I highly recommend they've got pet goat in the back that is their mascot that he lets the kids and people feed. Very awesome looking soda machine lots of cool decorative art and pictures on the wall definitely try their steak finger bites with gravy and mac and waffle fries I guarantee you that I will be returning soon

Yall gotta come eat here! Better than chick fil a. Visiting from Arkansas and decided to stop in. Heard it was great. Beat expectations. The owner is phenomenal, staff is friendly, food is amazing. If you’re in town or haven’t tried it yet please come down! I heard the milkshakes are also out of this world. Just haven’t tried yet.

An absolutely incredible experience...hands down, with little room for comparison, the best chicken and fries I've ever had. Spoke with the friendly owner, who explained he was a former franchisee of a Chik Fil A and went out on his own with a new recipe. So much better, it tastes gourmet. I will be coming back every time I'm in Goldthwaite, and start finding reasons to visit! Thanks for the wonderful customer service experience as well, friendliest people you could ever hope for. Just did drive thru w/my boyfriend @lunch for chicken tenders. I usually hate chicken tenders. But I tried his and these were the best I've ever had. They appeared to be homemade and the batter was great. I highly recommend.

The chicken is nice size strips. There is no chemical taste to it. Tastes like what your grandmother would cook. Nothing like the nasty chain food chicken mystery pieces. It's even good cold. Grab it before Sunday because they are closed on that day. Chicken fried steak strips are good too!! Waffle fries are cooked nice and crunchy. Not oil soaked or burnt.

Y’all this place is SO GOOD! Stopped by while in town for work (support local!), and was beyond impressed. The food was freshly cooked, the chicken nuggets were tender, flavorful and crispy. You don’t need sauce, but they gave plenty to try out if you want it! Great sweet tea for my fans out there - it’s just sweet enough without rotting your teeth out after 2 sips. I got the drive thru so missed the indoor decor, but the outside is cute and clean, and I’m partial to the fact there’s a goat pen bordering the drive thru lane. Definitely worth a stop - best chicken I’ve ever had from a drive thru by far!!

Fresh chicken, hot and juicy! Waffle fries are better than the shoestring fries. I’m not sure why we had a mix of both.

This used to be my favorite place! It breaks my heart. They’ve taken away the waffle fries, and the chicken doesn’t taste the same. It’s like they’ve lost everything that made them unique.
