Speedy kind service, indoor and outdoor seating, great tasting lattes!
A welcome and refreshing (literally) take on coffee in a collegiate town setting. The staff was friendly and prices reasonable. The iced caramel latte with almond milk was really good - I wish I could get the recipe for this so I could make it again as I was only traveling through. It would be nice to have expanded seating options, but they do not really have the land to do so it seems. I would love to return to this location if I ever travel through the area again! If anyone has that recipe though.... I really want that latte again...
Maximus’ smile made my day. Also I know people be hating on the Coffee+ smoothie but I loved it. So refreshing and energizing. THANK U CAJÉ!!!
Best drinks anywhere, no doubts. We got the caramel blended with two add shots and it was perfect. It wasn't too sweet, wasn't too watered, perfectly blended throughout. Additionally, the espresso shots were pulled perfectly, and tasted phenomenal. We also got the strawberry lemonade smoothie and it tasted amazing as well. It wasn't too sweet, it didn't taste artificial, and it had a swell aftertaste. The prices are competitive, and I'm hoping my drinks are just as good next time, whenever that may be.
This place has an amazing atmosphere that makes it challenging to leave. The staff is both friendly and knowledgeable with their drinks. The Bela Rose is one of the best matcha teas I've had. This drink was not only beautifully presented, but tasted fantastic. Highly recommend this place.
Chai’s are delicious, the bowls are amazing and the bagels are great too. I stop by here and pick up one of these delicious items at least 3 or more times a week. You must try for yourself and be amazed.
Love that the Açaí bowls are all the same price and a great value. Had lots of add ons and a really good portion size and was very tasty. Definitely got more food than I’m used to in an açaí bowl. The service is also great.
Great place! Coffee is excellent (and not expensive!), the açai bowls are amazing, and the staff makes an effort to remember you even after just a couple days! I just wished there wasn't a surcharge (20 ct) for credit card but that won't stop me from returning there whenever I'm in IV.
Man this place is on point worth every penny great breakfast bowls and great staff. They work hard and fast shout out to my man on the bowls u know who u are caring thoughtful and works hard and needs a raise. Tip them extra they are busting out food and drinks like a well oiled machine!
The absolute best matcha in the world - get the Bella rose with almond milk, you won’t regret it! And make sure to come by the Lab Social at night. Cajé becomes a bar that makes great cocktails, happy hour from 5:30-7:30. I have yet to have a bad experience here.
Great coffee place that is open late in IV
The food in this place FILLS you. Those acai bowls are just a huge healthy meal. Also the matcha latteis by far the best I have had, very well mixed and not bitter. Seating is hard though, so if you can find a spot, great but you likely won't.
Best espresso in IV. I usually order a machiatto, which is served more like a cortado than a strict machiatto. I've been told their flat white is to die for. It's excellent espresso and consistently high quality. Good service, friendly people, plenty of outdoor seating. Beware that they don't have a bathroom, so plan accordingly.
Best Coffee in IV by far!! Their coffee consistently tastes exactly like it should, espresso tastes awesome and milk is always steamed correctly. The people that work here love coffee and know how to make it right! Caje also probably played a huge part in me being able to graduate because of all the caffeine ;)
Great coffee and bagel sandwiches. Had an espresso that was delicious and a tasty mushroom cheese bagel sandwich with tomato and avocado. Nice outdoor patio for me and my dog.
Best coffee shop ever!! Staff always super nice and the coffees and bagels are the best thing ever!!!!
Active and modern cafe. Bowls are huge and packed with nutrients! Also have bagel sandos and coffee. Can get busy but it’s a good kind of social busy and stay open late too, with WiFi. Outdoor and indoor seating. Very fair pricing.
I have posted about the Santa Barbara location, however, the first location I ever tried was in Isla Vista. This shop is a local startup originally in the early 2000s. The vibes and quality of product, very much translates that cultivation by those truly passionate about delicious coffee drinks. I got the plain hot latte with almond mylk as always, steamed perfectly such a light an sweet texture of foam. The flavor is really the star.. you can really taste the quality and full body of the espresso (and coffee which i have ordered in the past) it has a richness that always makes me question if I had cinnamon or some spice added by mistake. Always a treat even in the rising! l'm making this my local coffee spot whenever in town; whether its Isla Vista, or Santa Barbara i'm officially a regular when visiting! Also staff is super sweet an I apprecialove that in the early hours of the day, really makes a nice way to begin, glad I stopped in!
an absolute gem in Santa Barbara! If you're a coffee or tea enthusiast, this place is a must-visit. The drinks they create are like works of art. What really sets Caje apart is their dedication to using freshly ground coffee for syrups and garnishes, giving their drinks an incredible depth of flavor. You won't find any week-old beans here! It's a whole new level of coffee and tea experience that's truly unique. The staff clearly loves what they do, and it shows in every sip. Don't miss out on this innovative and flavorful journey. Stop by and treat your taste buds to something extraordinary!
My son drove us to this Cajé Coffee near UC Santa Barbara campus, the latte is very good, and the Bagelwiches are delicious!
Caje is my favorite coffee shop near UCSB’s campus. I’ve been going for over 5 years and it’s consistently good. I love their drip coffee, so particularly their Ethiopia blend which is nice and fruity. Their flat whites are also great. If you don’t like coffee, their matcha and their chai lattes are yummy. I also love their bagel sandwiches. This is a good place to come for a relatively short stay since they don’t have restrooms. But they do have wifi so I’ve had meetings here. Another plus is the super friendly staff, who actually make an effort to pronounce my name correctly :) I love the atmosphere with lots of plants and the music. Don’t miss a stop here if you are near campus!
Coffee was amazing. I love that they make their own almond milk. The açaí menu was huge and very good. I liked the bagel too, nothing amazing but still good. The food came very quick. The only thing I did not like were the concrete tables. It gets pretty busy on Sunday mornings too.
• P. Nutty Açai bowl:5/5 ~$13 huge and gave me the energy for a period of 6 hours of work! That’s crazy and most importantly healthy 😋😋 I was guilt free 💗 • Breakfast egg bagel: 5/5 ~$8 Cream cheese mixed with eggs in any type of bagel you like 😋
CAJE has packed Acai Bowls and is great if you are looking for a place to eat and work. Food is good and drinks come out quick. There are many Acai Bowl options to choose from. There are indoor and outdoor seats. Good for parties of 2 - 4 inside and 6 if outside.
Amazing coffee, if you like it strong. I ordered a flat white, and it was perfection. Nice selection of bagel sandwiches as well, although I didn’t partake.
Love this place, great acai bowls. Mine had hemp seeds and honey granola. Also had a works breakfast bagel which was decent, not as good as bagels from IV Bagel. Latte had oat milk, which is rare. Love the little touches and unique flavors here.
The best coffee in campus area. Their bagels and coffee so delicious! Really enjoyed my time there
Just finished a monster of a meal at Caje and loved every mouthful. I had the avocado toast to start followed by an Açaí bowl. The avocado toast was amazing, a thick piece of bread with a hearty spread of smashed avo drizzled with tangy balsamic. I didn’t have much room left but had to try the Açaí bowl which was a generous serving of fresh berries and bananas atop granola and Açaí, honey and chia seeds. Wow. So delicious I finished every morsel. I might need help walking out of here but I’m happy:)
On the off chance that I get to work from home, I work from Caje! I'm obsessed with their Carmel latte. It's not too sweet and you still get a hint of espresso. I cannot comment on their food but the atmosphere and staff are wonderful. Love the free WiFi. Only disappointment is their outside seating- the table is too high for the seats making it really weird to work at // however inside is comfy.

The only place I go in the Santa Barbara/Goleta/Isla Vista Community not only because the coffee is made with the most ethically sourced, delicious beans they can source, but also for the great service, vibes, and ambience. Thank you so much for those life saving Iced Mochas ☕

Delicious coffee. No bathroom, so don't even think about needing to wash your hands or have a pee.
The smoothies here are breakfast in a cup. They have bagels, tea, and coffee too, but I go here so I can get a bunch of fruit blended with something like kale or avocado or peanut butter and attach it to my mouth like a feeding tube and slurp it up. There’s never enough seats indoors but the outdoor seats on the side have heaters for chilly weather.
Awesome coffee, good bagel sandwiches but no restroom :( So make sure you come prepared ;)
Awesome Acai and other similar bowls, i.e. wonderful breakfast options. Mediocre coffee, at best (tried their mocha). REALLY busy, don't count on getting a table, unless you're lucky.
Good coffee (Handlebar), tea, smoothies, bowls and bagels. Usually pretty busy, sometimes hard to find seating. Nice staff. No bathroom.

Great coffee here, came out quick as they were not too busy. The staff was helpful and kind, and I love the patio it's a cute hang out area where you can people watch and hang out in the sun (some shade). There is no bathroom here, they sent me to the pizza spot next door who didn't seem to mind

Got an iced matcha latte to go while visiting from out of town. Chose this place because I read all of the great reviews about their matcha lattes, so my expectations were pretty high. When I took the first sip, all I could taste was the dairy. I opted for almond milk but all it tasted like was whole milk. I couldn't even taste the matcha. Not the best experience and it was pretty pricey. I also got a bagel which was pretty small for $9. There is only street parking so just be aware of the craziness when coming while UCSB is in session.
The coffee beans themselves are from handlebar (a local coffee roaster) and can be exceptional. The standard brewing can leave something to be desired in terms of bringing out the best. No pour over options, and a generally over packed by students location makes Cajé a place I won't go out of my way for. The staff are always polite, and always make your drink to order. The sandwiches are good, and the location when it isn't crowded can be very cozy. There aren't great options around IV, but within a few miles there are far, far better choices.
Haven't been in a few years but on my last two subsequent visits I found metal objects in my food: the first was a metallic bolt inside a plain cream cheese bagel. The second was multiple staples inside my Jeremy Supreme smoothie. Look before you bite!
The avocado toast and Caprese bagel are delicious! But our first visit, my friend got a dirty chai and threw out the entire thing and the second day she got a coffee and did the same lol. I ordered a matcha the first day and it wasn’t anything amazing at all, was just green milk, and it’s very hard to not make a good matcha, so i just got starbucks the second day and ate the food here instead which was yummy 🥯

They have a couple bagel sandwich options on their menu, though apparently no longer make them. They have very limited options, and the acai bowl I tried tasted like a bad smoothie poured in a cup with bird seeds thrown on top. Normally, I like acai bowls... but this place is only rated well because it is the only acai/smoothie place in the UCSB general vicinity.
Terrible attitude. Breakfast bagel was served cold and had the flavor chalk, after one bite I had to just toss it. The bagel was so dry I swear it was 2 days old, the eggs tasted like they were made yesterday. A big crowd was there, so I could not hear them when the called my name. I went in to see if my order was ready. I asked and the rude person said "It is if it has your name on it!" in the most condescending tone possible. That was a complete was of $11.50.

My açaí bowl was nowhere near full, despite other customers receiving near full bowls. Tipped 18% too…. They also have no ports at the tables
