Opinions de Saigon Noodle House Goleta
This is my go-to place to enjoy a meal with friends or family. The place holds so many memories for me and it will always be one of my favourite spots. The food is excellent, the staff is friendly, and the prices were affordable as a college student.
We love this place, they have our favorite broth and noodles out of any other pho place in town. Sometimes my boyfriend and I go in more than once a week, and it doesn't break our budget because their prices are pretty good! They have some decent hot chili oil too, you have to ask for it, so make sure you do! Anyways, I don't want to sound like a payed review, I just really like this place and will miss it when I move soon. T_T
Food was good. Service was quick and friendly despite staff being very busy. Decent prices. Young college crowd.
Wait staff very helpful and friendly and made special dishes for me because of food issues. The food is almost as good as the best in San Jose or San Francisco. The pho was outstanding and not too salty. Had a very delightful experience.
We come here often for pho. The pho broth is a mix of beef and chicken and they don’t have veggie broth. I like that you can order veggie pho but add fried tofu. The meat is usually very dry and over cooked so I wouldn’t recommend it. They only have 3 vegetarian dishes to choose from. So if you are vegan or vegetarian you don’t have a lot of options and definitely can’t get pho. Don’t be misled by the veggie pho option. They use the chicken/beef broth.
Hands down the best pho place in the area! Service is always efficient and portion sizes are generous. If you're not feeling like noodles and soup, I recommend trying one of the vermicelli bowls. Fresh, delicious, and filling 😋
I was in town on a work trip and didn't have a lot of time in the early for my. I was able to call ahead right when they opened and place my order by phone so that all I had to do is get in and eat. I ordered a combination pho. Being from San Diego and having a huge Vietnamese population as well as a location in our city called Little Saigon I did not expect that the pho was going to be all that great. However, it tasted exactly as expected, and was a very generous portion with great flavor for a good price.
My favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Goleta. My wife and I often visit this place for lunch! We usually order the grilled pork vermicelli bowl and the appetizer sampler. I really like their spring rolls and the peanut sauce. Their house special fried rice is also excellent. The fried banana in the desserts is also great! The staffs are friendly and they always have excellent service. I highly recommend this place for dining in or takeouts.
The food and service were excellent. First timers !! Large portions and affordable. Could use a deep cleaning and refresh . But definitely recommend 👌🏼
Really good bowl of pho. The stock is superb and the portions are generous. The appetizers are also worth getting especially the shrimp rolls. It's a place that has become a regular for me on cold(ish) nights.
To my taste buds, this is the best Pho 🍜 around. I've had many other Pho's and I love it here. My friends agree too, and this has become our foodie hang out at times. To my knowledge, this is the only place in town that makes a 'beef bone' broth for the Pho, which explains the savory flavor compared to others. I live in downtown SB and I drive here 1-2 times a week. The flavor is always consistent, also have a great Thai Ice Tea, amazing coconut water and fried oreo & banana dessert. I love Noodle House!!
My favorite place to go for pho in the area! I typically get a #10 pho (rare steak and brisket). The broth is bold and full of flavor. You can tell they put a lot of time and effort into making the broth. Perfect for a rainy or chilly day. I'm also a huge fan of their Thai Tea and coconut water.
Love this place! Go once a week atleast. Hope it reopens soon
One of the best (and one of the only) Vietnamese restaurants in the Santa Barbara/Goleta area. Cash & credit card payments accepted. Authentic Vietnamese food. Pho features prominently, but they also have bun, spring rolls, rice bowls/platters, vegetarian dishes and traditional Vietnamese coffee (strong French roast with a healthy amount of sweetened condensed milk) in either hot or iced form. Lots of seating, but they're also usually quite busy. Take out available and worthwhile. Prices are good for Santa Barbara/Goleta area. Highly recommended.
I first reviewed Saigon Noodle House six years ago, and it’s still one of our family favorites. The owners—past and present—are some of the hardest-working, kindest people you’ll meet, and the food has always reflected that care. We’ve worked our way through the menu over the years, but dishes #18 and #20 remain our go-tos. Most photos are taken mid-meal because we can’t wait to eat. The recent ownership change and renovations have truly brought the place to life. It was always a great spot for our family—my girls still remember the clownfish in the big tank—but now the space matches how good the food has always been. The pho is still the best in the Target shopping center. We’re glad they’re open again and wish the new owner nothing but success.
The pho is pretty good. Tasty broth, good amount of noodles, and meat. The 33a (fried rice) is awesome! Best around. I put siriacha all over it. We usually start of with an appetizer of fried shrimp. Yumm. The staff are amazing and friendly, which justs adds to the enjoyment of the food. Love this place! Oh, and the pho is pho King great!
Food was great and the service was great as well! So good in fact my family came back multiple times over our weekend trip 😂 I loved that they have a special vegetarian menu. I got the V3 option which was a stir fry and suuper tasty! My family also enjoyed their pho and goi cuon dishes. I also think their portion sizes are perfect. The only down side is I would not really recommend their cafe sua da. Otherwise, definitely check out this spot if you’re in the area and in the mood for some viet food! 😊🍜

Five stars! I visit this spot every morning and I'm never disappointed. The staff is incredibly friendly and the prices are great for the quality you receive. I’ve tried the Asian restaurant in the center of Santa Barbara, but the quality here is far superior. It’s not even a contest! Also, Sonya is a rockstar—she provides excellent service every time. Highly recommended
Really tasty food! The staff was very friendly. After I asked a few questions our server kindly suggested a substitution that made our meal fit our needs exactly. Might be hard to tell from the outside but it's a clean bright dining space on the inside.
Delicious food! Always good customer service! Very clean and good atmosphere. The prices are more than reasonable for the amount of food you get!

Spacious restaurant with a chill welcoming atmosphere. We came for lunch at 12 noon. Good food, and good service. We only ordered Pho Special and pho tai. Visually the pho bowls did not look enticing because they only had chunks of green onion floating (maybe a mixture of both green onions and cilantros will make the soup visually more enticing?) Tip automatically charged per receipt.
Santa Barbara county is an Asian food desert with the exception of Japanese sushi joints. I'm a Pho addict and this restaurant has the best I've found so far.
This place is probably the best in town. Not much to compare to, but I have lived in bay area for 10 years, and this is the only place in town that I will go to for pho. Food is usually fine, and perfect for the area, but I must say my broth today was luke warm. My soup wasn't nasty tonight, but just good soup with warm broth, instead of the typical hot that cooks the rare meat.
Pho spot next to Target. Nothing too out of the ordinary, has all the standard pho menu items. I personally liked the cut of steak for the pho. It was a bit thicker than I usually have it. Broth was fragrant and onions were thin, just the way I like it. The only issue I had was they didn't bring the vegetables that usually come with some of the pho and that the service wasn't as attentive compared to the other spots I have been to. Would still come back for the food though!
Rare beef pho was delicious, the meat was tender and flavorful. Same goes for the chicken pho and egg rolls. The vermicelli with pork was tangy and light. The house fried rice was savory and hearty. The staff was friendly and efficient. The interior was simple, humble and large. Many tables and booths to accommodate groups of all sizes.
The food is quite good for Santa Barbara. Actually, it may be one of the few places where you can get a decent bowl of pho, outside of driving to Oxnard or Ventura. The portion sizes for the fried rice are huge...it took me four days (of leftovers/lunch) to finish a plate.
A surprisingly nice Asian food find in Goleta. A nice well rounded menu, very affordable and extremely great tasting food. From appetizer to dessert, every dish is delicious and memorable. They, unfortunately, do not have an easy way to order online for delivery or pickup. The only options are dine-in or ordering at the restaurant.
Decent prices and friendly people. I had the pho with brisket and a Vietnamese iced coffee. The broth was full of flavor, packed with meat, with large portions. The coffee wasn't bad, but not great either. I'm grateful that nobody laughed at my feeble attempts to eat my pho with the little spoon. If I had attempted using the chopsticks I suspect they wouldn't have been able to hold back the laughing and pointing.
Good place to come in for a bowl of pho on a foggy day. The bowls are pretty big, I could finish all of the noodles but not all of the broth as they give you so much. The egg rolls were cooked great and served with a dipping sauce that was fish sauce along with something else which complement the egg rolls nicely. I found my noodles a bit more cooked than I like, but I have still come back many times to eat!
I stopped by this restaurant on my way back to Orange County. The taste of the pho didn't taste quite the same as the flavor of PHO, so it's more like an Americanized- Vietnamese restaurant. However, it wasn't at all bad, and it's still a good place to try Vietnamese cuisine.

I used to get pho here for take out every single time I would come into Goleta. Towards the end, I started realizing that their pho isn’t all that great; maybe it’s the noodle’s quality. I love how they have actual Nemo’s in their fish tank in their main dining room next to the register. I love Nemo’s. I probably wouldn’t come here again for the pho. I’ll try sometime else if theirs next time though. If you’re looking for good pho, there’s another place behind Costco.
1st time here. Decided to give this place a try for lunch. It's big and pretty spacious. Has plenty of settings and tables. There was a good amount of people in there this afternoon. That's a pretty good sign. Before going to the food I just want to put this out there. The white dude with the little chain around his neck, if you're reading this, please just quit. I see the way you questioned us, your tone of voice, the way you hand customers their drinks and the way you approach customers is not a good look. When folks thank you for providing service, be nice and respond back. Don't just walk off with that little pout on your face. When I came up to pay the bill, you ask us in the most rudest way possible. That is until I responded back disrespectfully to you. You simmered down your attitude a bit. Let this be a lesson. One day you might disrespect the wrong person and that individual may pull your card.
Busy, bustling restaurant. Sticky tables and lack of uncleanliness makes eating here a little questionable or maybe they are short on a busboy. However, the food is typically flavorful and hits all the taste buds in the right spots. Greasy, dark egg rolls might mean it's time to change the oil in the fryer vat.

Food is very inconsistent. This is our must go to place to eat every time we come back from LA. Their food used to be very good. Now for the past two times we were there, pho was really salty. No service yet they charged us 18% for 4+2. I definitely don't mind gratuity added on the bill but when there is no service, it shouldn't be added.
You would expect an Asian restaurant to know better than having you sign with a red pen. Would never go there again. Food is mediocre: nothing special. at times salty or oily. There was also one time when they forgot to get me water until I was leaving.
Why are there so many people recommending this place? The pho broth is sour and the meatballs tastes so fake, like some technical production instead of actual“meat.” Thai tea is fine and the service is good though. Spring rolls are mediocre.
The food was extremely salty! I got Pho Tai ($9.50) and the broth came out very dark and a lot of msg as it made me thirsty. We also got rice with bbq pork and egg loaf ($10.50). It’s regular steam rice not broken rice. The meat was not grilled, it was pan fried and really tough. It was salty and so was the egg loaf and fish sauce. I had to squeeze a lot of lemon into my broth. I have to admit that this place was busy. I was also disgusted that they reuse take out paper menus. The bathroom was also dirty and no more hand soup. I hope the employees have another sink that they use because the soap bottle was completely out and someone prior had poured water in to dilute it. Didn’t work, it’s just all water.
I've had much better pho elsewhere. Lukewarm broth and not very tasty, even the bean sprouts were soggy and the lime wedges brown..

I’m a Vietnamese and tbh i don’t really like the Pho here, the broth was ok, and they gave me less beef than what I was expecting. I would choose Pangzi or Phamous Cafe for the Pho.

I had numbers 6 and 14. Plus an order of spring rolls. Truly awful food. Overcooked and carelessly made. Wait staff were nice, though.
A waiter poured an entire bowl of sticky sauce on my pants and my phone, and ruined my phone case. Did not say sorry, and the attitude was so bad, like they don't care anything about their reputation. Said something like "the pants can be washed and you can buy a new phone case". Very passive aggressive. Worst service ever experienced.
Staff including owners were super rude. We felt very unwelcomed. They don't care whether they have customers. Never coming back due to their horrible service. If you're in the mood for noodles go to Noodle city on Hollister Ave. Their noodles and services are way better.
Saigon Noodle House offers the worst service among all restaurants I have dined in. They spilled the sauce on my phone case and destroyed it (it was soaked with sticky sauce). I asked to see their manager but they repetitively emphasized that it was an accident and never said sorry. I will never come again for this service attitude.
the noodles were completely frozen in a solid block, making the dish impossible to eat right away. It clearly shows poor preparation or packaging. I expected a hot, ready-to-eat meal—not a soup with a block of ice in the middle. This really ruined the experience and I won’t be ordering from here again

TLDR: I do not recommend this place for anyone with a food allergy! We were really excited to see Saigon open again after the renovation. Unfortunately they have zero care for food allergies. I spoke with the waitress about my allergy when ordering and when the food was delivered it still had jalapeños. I then spoke with the owner who didn’t seem to care very much, but brought a new side of bean sprouts to without the jalapeño. We also ordered a chicken fried rice to share, the waitress and owner confirmed only black pepper in the dish. Thankfully after the jalapeños, I didn’t trust them and only had one bite. When paying, I asked the owner to confirm the rice was safe and she checked to find it also had white pepper. Im hoping my exposure is low enough that I won’t be in the hospital tonight. I do not recommend this place for anyone with a food allergy!
