Wow, the original is here! The first time we have already noticed an intense, awesome smoke and barbecue smell from a large distance. We followed the cloud of smoke and saw a long line of people queuing up to the street. That's how we discovered habit Burger and since then we love the food there. The burgers are always made fresh and grilled on charcoal. The No. 2 combo is just perfect. The meat is extemely delicious and has a very high quality - everything comes from the region. You also have to try the other dishes like the steak sandwich or the tuna sandwich. Super tasty. Everything is topped off with delicious side dishes like crispy fries or onion rings. The shakes are also amazing. If I could, I would come here every day. Nice, quick service and free pickled chillis complete the offer.

Brought my kids on a Spring Break and UC campus tour road trip and stumbled upon this Habit Grill! We had no idea it was the original here in Goleta! This is so different from the Habit Grill we have close to home. It is walk-up service and they have special menu items you can only find at this location according to one of the regulars we saw. There was a bit of a wait and a line—this must be a popular place! There is parking in the back and it’s on a pretty busy street. They don’t allow customers to serve their own drinks, keeping everyone safe during COVID. This is such a unique location in a beautiful town and apparently “The Original” Habit Grill—so don’t miss it!

Those toast buns are amazing, the meat tastes fresh and the burger as a whole is simply delicious! I also loved my sweet potato fries. Seating at the outside makes the whole experience much more immersive and lovely. The price is also very cheap compared to other places, service is quick. The value is incomparable.

Good place for a burger and fries.this is the original location. Recommend the regular burger over the Santa Barbara version, which didn't work for me. Try the chili cheese fries as well, they are off menu I guess but they are a notch below Tommy's chili fries so quite tasty (super greasy lol).

Such a shame to watch what was once a local delicious staple go down In quality. Serving fake sirloin meat that crumbles to the touch over the iconic tri tip sandwich is something to be expected from the YUM brand smh

Is it necessary to change $0.60 for what amounts to $0.02 of sauce? Corporate really ruined Habit. Used to be a good deal, now it's over $20 for a combo meal and y'all have the gall to charge an additional $0.60 for a measly dipping sauce? Treat your customers with some respect and they'll come back with friends. Nickel and dime them, good luck staying in business. Been eating here my whole life and there's been a massive drop in quality since the pandemic. Can't say I'll be coming back.

Feedback - please toss your salads. You recently stopped and the bowls they are served in are too small to toss them. Caesar has always been my go to and delicious but I won’t come here to get it anymore until you can toss them again

There’s no substitute for quality! Should be removed from your receipts. You clearly have changed things like the salad 🥗. Wasn’t expecting you replaced the “salad” with literally just shredded lettuce you use for the burgers. Really….Avoid the salads… what else have you substituted since being taken over.

Updated this review. Let's just say, not what it use to be. Sorry but I don't think I'll ever go back. The Last hamburger I'll ever buy and partially eat from Habit looked like it was dropped on the floor and stepped on. I definitely would've sent it back, but I got it to go and was down the road to my next stop when I opened up the bag. It's to bad, I really used to enjoy the local hamburgers.

Way overpriced! I spent $22 on a chicken sandwich onion rings and a soda. The chicken sandwich didn’t have a description of it was inside of it, and it came with a coleslaw. Mix with onions in it, which are in denial about and it was cold by the time I got to eat it, which was five minutes after I ordered it the only highlight to this place was the onion rings were really good.

The ONLY reason for the one star... This is the original Habit.. And they had the BEST of the best and served many things that were not part of the "chain". They have since sold out to the "chain"... Still cool to experience and have you food... Just sad is no longer the authentic original location...
