Opinions de Del Pueblo Cafe Santa Barbara
I've always loved their enchiladas, equally happy with red or green sauce. I also like that you can substitute veggies and salad for the rice and beans. I need to make more trips to this restaurant.
Great food with very good price. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Definitely will come back!
You’re missing the best breakfast in town. The owner is an expert barista. I had an almond latte with cinnamon and the scramble with nopales (opuntia cactus) and California chiles (not spicy). Also try horchata with a shot of espresso for lunch. The portion was enormous and the flavors were fresh and exciting! The potatoes were so crispy. I used to frequent this restaurant years ago for their healthy soups. I’m so pleased that this is now a woman-owned local restaurant. This is a must visit for specialty Mexican breakfasts and coffee brews. Also a great spot for gluten-free options.
Was looking for something new to try aside from our regular fast food stop. So we decided to stop by at del pueblo cafe. The service here was great. They had our food out in a short time and no long wait. The food tasted good and what gets them 5 stars is their customer service. The attendant was very fast at getting our orders and checking in on us very often. Would definitely recommend.
Great Mexican food! Unique art and large banquet room. Consistently great service and presentation. The sopes are so fresh! Try the pollo enlechado! Like nothing we've had before! 4/21...Still solid with great service! We miss Alex but are glad the tradition continues ☺️...prior reviewer said salsa bar...umm no . But great salsa to your table! Great mole! 10/30. Another Fantastic dinner! My son loves the fried chicken tacos! My wife loves the Enchiladas, and I love the Mole...
I ordered the chilaquiles with asada and avocado… I also ordered an horchata so that I can mix it into my coffee… It was perfect!!
Great spot for some good food. Had the mixed tacos, they were perfect.
This was our first visit, but won't be our last. What a surprise to find such a hidden gem in this little shopping center. Appreciated the outdoor seating, kind service, and delicious lunch.
Took my 5 & 7 year old here for dinner. The waiter told us they have chips and salsa just for kids - it's the first time my 5 year old had actually enjoyed salsa! My 7 year old chose the shrimp tacos and he was stoked and ate it all! Definitely a kid friendly place, especially with all the decor on the walls. We'll absolutely go back

This has been our family's favorite Mexican restaurant since it opened about 25 years ago. Recently the owner decided to retire, and his niece stepped up to take over running the place. She has updated the decor and created online ordering. The wait staff is courteous and on-the-ball. The menu has been updated a bit and some recipes tweaked too - all for the better. Food is high quality, fresh, well seasoned, and delicious. Presentation of food has been upgraded and is quite pleasing. All in all we are thrilled this place has stayed open and think the niece has done a terrific job in making improvements while keeping all the things we love intact.
We arrived around 9:30am and there was nobody inside but we decided to take the risk anyways. What a pleasant rewarding surprise! I have ordered Huevos with Machacas and honestly, they were the best I ate in my life, and I go to Mexico every year and eat this same dish very often there. My husband also loved his chilaquiles and said they were the best in town! Service was good but not wonderful. We asked for hot chocolate for our young daughters and waitress came back saying they didn't have it, which it was a little disappointing since it's such an easy thing to prepare. Other than that, just wonderful food besides being a beautiful and well decorated environment! Totally recommend this place and we will be coming back very soon!
Very nice people own and run Del Pueblo Cafe along with super yummy food!
It had been about 5 years since my only time going to eat here. I was pleasantly surprised how good my food was. I have started to eat nopales or ( cactus ) recently. I saw it on the menu and tried it. It was very tasty and cooked properly. I didn't remember all the decorations, which I truly enjoyed. Will definitely be going back soon

I am having the Mexi-Bowl which is like a taco salad but switch out the salad for the best fajita vege combo ever. It has bell peppers, onions, zucchini, carrots and eggplant. The carne asada in it is tender and tasty.

Food was excellent. If you have a large group, more than 20 people, expect that it will take longer. Other than that, staff was super friendly.

Huge portions, great food! Our waitress forgot about our appetizer but by the time we realized we were so full it was ok. Had the Mexi bowl and sopes. They were out of shrimp so I was bummed but the food they had was still good!!
Food is good but not the best in this town filled with tacquerias. The service was very good but the atmosphere I love all the art and colors and offrendas. That alone is worth a visit. Go visit - you'll enjoy it.
Love to hit up this local neighborhood eatery once in awhile. Traditional Mexican decor, and giant margaritas only add to the authentically prepared meals offered on their ample menu.
Got some takeout the other night and can't say it looked very appetizing once I opened the box. I got the chicken mole enchiladas and my partner got the chicken chimichanga. Thankfully it tasted better than it looked, but not the best I've had. Don't like that they use styrofoam containers.. there are better alternatives that can be recycled or composted.

Waited 5 min to be acknowledged at the counter then left before anyone showed me to a seat. Hopefully food is better than service.

While the authentic Mexican decor and atmosphere here were a perfect 5/5, the rest of my experience was underwhelming. My breakfast burrito was mostly a bland, watery, and mushy bean-and-potato filler with a noticeable lack of meat and egg. It was poorly seasoned and unbalanced. Service was also subpar; the host never smiled or offered a greeting, which felt odd for a breakfast spot. It's possible I simply had an unlucky visit, but the food quality and service were disappointing overall.
