The staff was super friendly and the food was excellent. We had the homemade noodles with sausage and Gnocchi with homemade sausage. If you get the chance to stop here don’t pass it up.

In town for a job and this was recommended by our contact. Sure glad we didn't pass them by! Funny, as I write this, I just tried to recreate my lunch. NOT EVEN CLOSE. You wouldn't think that a grilled ham and cheese sandwich would be so good! Homemade Italian bread. Cup of most tasty chicken noodle soup with, again, homemade, noodles. And to top it off, it was at a special price! I hope you will stop by.

Me and my wife are long distance truck drivers and have been all over the United States and we have never and I repeat never had a place that touched our hearts as much as Casablancas we pulled in the lot in the truck with the trailer it was late one evening the bar was open the lights are on in the restaurant part but as we parked and got up there the lights were off but we picked our head in the door and ask if the restaurant was closed and the owner was sitting there and said no sir our restaurant is never closed to a hungry stranger they fed us made us feel like we were family he even went as far as to call his mom and told her we'd be in the parking lot tomorrow morning that we may want breakfast and then he offered to give us electricity for our truck because it was winter time I will never ever ever forget this place the food was great the company was fantastic I always wish to come back

Take out but it was delicious. Beef tips with french fries and a salad and bread. It was also all done and packaged up for us at the time we gave them for pick up. Love this place

Baked fish was good, disappointed in the fried shrimp. They were not battered in their kitchen. They were ordered frozen to fry. So don't expect fresh dipped batter fried. Great customer service

When you visit Gouverneur, eating at the caz is a must. The food will always be good and service is excellent. Very friendly family owned and operated. You will always leave here full. We enjoy lunch and dinner at the caz. They have a bar here too. Bartenders are excellent and you will meet some awesome people too!

The pasta sauce took me back to when I was 5 years old back in my Grandma Guerrie's kitchen while she made her gravy and meatballs. It truly made me so happy, the staff are amazing wonderful atmosphere 🙏

We went here for my husbands birthday supper. The service was great and the food hit the spot. They have a good mix of dishes (steak, Italian, American). There are always specials.

Our family had a funeral down the road. This restaurant shut down for our family buffet. The staff made sure we never ran out of food. They were kind, courteous, efficient. The food was fantastic. I recommend this restaurant to everyone

Sat at the bar. Unfortunately i don't remember her name but the bartender was very informative and attentive. I ordered The Works on Homemade Noodles which was amazing. The food came out in s timely manner. The food tasted great even after reheated at the hotel later the next day. Definitely a small community jewel that everyone should visit regularly. Authentic Italian food served right.

Yesterday 8-13-25 my wife and I stopped in around 11:30am. It was one of our first stops before visiting relatives in near by richville new York. When I was growing up it was always a traditional stop before our weekend stays in richville. Anyway our time yesterday in the restaurant was well worth it. Our waitress was awesome,we had I nice chat with the owner. The food was delicious. It was my first time back after 56 years,and we sat at the same table location right in front of the window. The food is delicious! Homemade pasta, very fresh ingredients. Vegetarian options, and they can customize pasta dishes for vegetarians. My custom dish was a homemade noodle with sauteed broccoli and mushrooms in a garlic and oil sauce. It was excellent. Vegetarians please note that there is no marinara sauce: the red sauce is cooked with meatballs. Vegans - not a good choice for you. The pasta is made with egg. Super friendly service. Comfortable, small town atmosphere where everybody knows everybody. We felt welcome even though we were just passing through.

Covid robbed me of many dinners at The Casablanca, known locally as The Cas. This restaurant has been an Italian staple of Gouverneur for many generations. The food is all homemade and I've never ordered anything that wasn't amazing. The staff treat you like family. A smile goes a long way. Highly recommended for a nice family or celebratory dinner.

The food, the people' & THE FOOD ! The staff makes you feel like you are family from the moment you take a seat to the moment you leave! And you can bet your behind you will be back for the homemade noodles w/ butter and garlic! And homemade gnocchi! And please this is the biggest.... The salad is a simple iceberg with carrots and onions.... What gets it tho is the homemade magic dressing(as I like to call it). This place will not only leave your tummys full. But your hearts as well! Be sure to bring the kids! For ever my favorite!

Food was cheap and good! Service was ok at best, but thats because they were so busy. Defiantly the place to go if you are going through.

This hometown Italian American restaurant serves quality and generous portions as good as you can find in the "real" Upstate NY. Talking 45 mins to Canada from here. You will not leave feeling you paid for more than you received. Try it. You will not be disappointed.

Amazing environment, people friendly. Food took a little long to get to us (like an hour and a half, which is in default the only fault I found). the special for the day was to die for. Just couldn't ask for better service or more hospitality. Definitely recommend to anyone and everyone who wants a great meal for a fairly decent price, and an overall good experience.

The prime rib had too much fat, but on good note was huge and delicious. The beer battered haddock was also huge and delicious. Had a lot of large parties/ reserved tables in dining area, so we sat in dining area with bar, it was loud, but over all atmosphere was good.

Over the last month I have been 10+ times and enjoyed every meal. The steaks, fish, and pasta are all good. The prime rib special is enough for two meals easily. The bar offers plenty of fun and libations.

Outdated decor, service was OK, and food was not worth the money.

Staff was friendly but service was slower. Love the atmosphere but the prices seemed a little high for certain items and drinks.

Food was great as always but the waitress was rather unorganized, forgetful and at one point made a rude comment to my sister-in-law who is a pretty regular customer there.

This is a local diner and bar. Imho, if you accept that it's a nice place to eat. The prices are cheap, the staff is friendly, and the food was filling. It was full the evening I visited from out of town. That said, I think you'll likely find food that tastes somewhat less bland elsewhere. The fried haddock and the scallops were decent. The sirloin, however, was very dry and overdone.

We had a family gathering of 10 people this past Tuesday evening. My niece made reservations for 10 at 5:30pm. It took over an hour for our orders to be asked. They brought our drinks out at separate times. They brought out our meals at separate times. They served people that came in after us, before us. It was freezing in there. I haven't been there in years and I will probably never go back again. The handicap ramp for a separate customer was completely useless. The ramp was only set up for the steps, not for the curb, the step up to the ramp or the entrance. It's very sad that my daughter and I witnessed this, we helped the customer get in the restaurant. Very disappointed

The people are very nice but if you are looking for a good italian restaurant this is not the place. I ordered the "homemade" lasagna and it seriously tasted like cheap jarred sauce and whatever meat they used tasted like dog food. I took one bite and pushed it aside. My step father also wasn't pleased with what he ordered. Definitely won't be going back.

Will be my First and Last visit to this restaurant.Based on the reviews we chose to go there. We are from out of town.Waited 20 mins after ordering meal to find out they were out of lasagna waited an additional 25 mins after re ordering something else.Had to ask for bread after the food arrived at table.No drink refills. Maybe it a locals spot or the individuals written the reviews are employed there.

Kudos to the chef!!! His food is delicious when served timely! The servers should all be fired!!! Start again...serving food that is cold and so dried out that the fish cracked open and the broccoli was blackened🤮 I will say that they make it right! However the wait time is ridiculous even with reservations. I would think the owners would be onsite to either rededicate their servers or roll up their sleeves and pitch in. Again the chef is fantastic!!!

I was truly shocked when they brought me a 22 Oz. steak and it didn't have a lick of seasoning on it just a slab of beef that's it, not to mention my wife's hot roast beef sandwich was cold, the only thing they get right was our drink order. It was freezing cold in there and the service was below average to say they least. 115 dollar bill is one thing when the food and service is terrible it makes that bill hurt that much worse. I will never go back and recommend no-one go there either.

I ordered pork tenderloin and the meat did not come from a loin. It was tough and came in large chunks. Mushrooms from a can, gravy from a packet and not pork flavored. The only good thing was the salad. Will never go again.
