Opinions de Thai Cuisine Potsdam
Always amazing and a favorite of my husbands and mine. Highly recommend the Thai iced tea or coffee, fresh spring rolls, crab rangoon (best I've had), mango curry, volcano chicken, and the coconut dessert puddings. 10/10
Great food and excellent service! The Thai Cuisine is one of my favorite lunch go-to spots. Say Hi to Conrad and Isaiah! Super friendly staff and delicious food! Highly recommend!
The restauant was pretty full, background music was playing , but you could still have a conversation. Good service. Pumpkin curry was delicious. Spicy without being too spicy. Good portion size.
Great place with great staff and owner! My favorite thing there is the chicken lomain! The food is great and priced very well, dining in was a fun experience and I’ll definitely be doing it again soon.
I spent 6 years in Japan, when I finally came home I started looking for a cuisine that compares after 20 years I have finally found it here. After the first bite till the last. Thank you for bringing me back to the good food...
Delicious food! We got the chicken larb, shrimp green curry with brown rice and and beef drunken noodle. All dishes had layers of flavor. This drunken noodle was a thin one, I think I really wanted pad see ew. I will next time. Thanks so much!
Food is almost always fantastic, the staff is very friendly and attentive without being smothering, and the prices are reasonable. If you like your food hot and spicy, or you can't take the heat, they are more than happy to adjust the spice levels to suit.
Quality food. This isn't some Chinese takeout with a bunch of rice, beef, and salt thrown in a fryer. They don't just load a bunch of oil and sugar into the food until it tastes good. Every dish has actual flavor with its own perfect combination of spices. I feel cleansed by God himself after eating here. I recommend the Tom Kun soup.
First off the curry was amazing!!! Brings back so many memories, happy you guys remain open. Love the authenticity and the staff is so cute and friendly haha definitely will be back
Easily the most authentic food in town. It’s also the only place my picky toddler will eat veggies from all day. The foods only gotten better, and the staffs as nice as it gets!
Fantastic flavors for the price. I've had Thai food at super high end restaurants in LA, San Francisco and Hawaii and Potsdam's Thai Cuisine can easily compare favorably for quality of food and flavors.
What a nice surprise to find delicious Thai food, with very friendly service and a peaceful atmosphere, on our visit to Potsdam!
Some of the best food I've ever had. Staff is usually great. Cool atmosphere. A must try.
I don't like ordering at the entrance when eating in, then paying before the meal & being prodded for a tip before seating ourselves. Not a classy place as it was when the Mother was running it, but she died unexpectedly awhile ago.
I’ve never had Thai food before but I’m glad my first experience was at Thai Cuisine in Potsdam, NY. The building was easy to get to and offered plenty of parking. The dining room inside was enough for a large lunch or dinner crowd. Our group started with vegetable spring rolls. I’ve never had a spring roll so this was new to me as well. I really enjoyed it! They were perfectly crispy yet tasty on the inside. I ordered chicken pad Thai and my husband ordered crispy chicken pad Thai. While I enjoyed my own pad Thai rice noodles, I preferred my husband’s crispy version. I also preferred the flavoring/sauce that came on his order. A few others in our group ordered the Thai iced tea and Thai iced coffee – these are a MUST if you’re looking for something sweet. The price was a little bit higher than we were expecting, but seemed to be pretty typical of a small college town. I know we’ll definitely visit or order take out from Thai Cuisine when we visit Potsdam again!
My wife and I had never tried Thai Cuisine but we had a delightful meal in a relaxed atmosphere. The friendly staff provided us with a wonderful meal that was not too spicy which encourages us to come again and try other new meals.
The dumplings are really good. Nice decorations and calm, quiet atmosphere. I also really felt that prices were reasonable. My favorite part is that the food is consistently good. Hands down my favorite, go-to place to eat out in the area.
I should’ve tried this place sooner ! It really is a hidden gem. I ordered the Pad thai and spring rolls. They were SO delicious. I ordered online and my food was ready when I got there. The employees were hard at work but were so nice :) Thank you !
Thai food is (in my opinion after traveling and living overseas on multiple occasions) the best food in the world. I was happy to see this family owned and operated business in Potsdam. You can only do takeout currently, but it didn't lose presentation. Simple yet powerfully flavored food.
I ordered the Won Ton Soup and Low Mein - both were fantastic, and nice & fresh, which goes a long way with me! (You can see the fresh veggies in the photos.) When I picked up our order, the place was very busy so you can tell they're receiving/filling a lot of orders - and rightly so! Very, very good!
Amazing food! Bank It’s probably one of the best servers I have ever had! I will be back very soon.
This is our go to place around Potsdam. Food as consistently good. If you like Thai then this place won’t disappoint.
Thank you for bringing back table service. The food is amazing, and I always order a variety so I have some to take home. Our waiter was absolutely lovely, and we truly enjoyed everything about our dining experience
Amazing food as always! I tried the Tom Yum soup and it was so much incredible, i’ve never tried anything like it! So filling and delicious. The spring rolls are always very yummy! Totally recommend it.
We are new to town and absolutely love the food here. We've had takeaway several times since moving and it is delicious. Everything is fresh and hot! It's so nice to have choices, and to not just eat junk food. The food here is SO good.
My wife and I discovered this place sort of randomly tonight and, seeing where we haven't had Thai food since moving to the area a year ago, decided to give it a try and.... WOW! It's a little different in that you order at a counter and then the food is delivered to your table. I thought it was a little odd, but it actually worked out really well. The food came out within seconds of it being done cooking! The entire staff were friendly, welcoming and they definitely know the menu, which was helpful for us as we had a hard time choosing. We started out with fried pork dumplings and they were amazing! We've always had a ginger sauce with dumplings at other Thai restaurants we've been to, but the sauce here is absolutely perfectly paired with the dumplings. The dumplings were filled well, perfectly fried and were great on their own - but with that sauce, they were elevated to a whole new culinary delight! My wife had a mango curry (not my thing!!) and she said it was very, very good. She liked that the mango was very fresh as were the vegetables. She added chicken and said that there was a lot of chicken! She also had Thai iced tea and proclaimed it delicious. I ended up choosing pad Thai, which kind of felt like too much of a safe choice. But, having never been here, I wanted to try something that I knew how it should taste as I've had it in many different Thai restaurants. It was spectacular!! It was the best pad Thai I've had in a very long time, way beyond what I expected and chock full of chicken. Not at all greasy, very fresh tasting and very satisfying. The portions were generous and we thought the prices were reasonable, given the quality of the food and the amazing service. The restaurant was recently remodeled and has a really nice, welcoming vibe. We didn't notice the patio until we were eating, but it overlooks the river and looks very nice. After living in the area for a year, we have definitely found our favorite restaurant - can't wait to go back and try something new!
I am new in town and this is one of only two good restaurants in Potsdam. I can only recommend dishes off of the soup menu and fresh spring rolls as that is all I have ordered. They are all very good but expect a traditional size serving versus a massive bucket of soup. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. The staff is attentive and polite.
I wish I had photos of the food for this review, but the food was just too good to spare a morsel. This was my first experience with Thai food, such a flavorful explosion of an experience. Hot fresh, quality food. Will be going back to explore more of what thy have to offer!
Okay let's start off by saying I must have been blessed with the best server there BANK! His knowledge of the menu was incredible and helped me choose something I would love. I highly recommend the drunken noodles and spring rolls!
Great food at a reasonable price. Very good service. Heat level accurately represented ( very important in Thai food imo). Service was excellent. Atmosphere is very average but not unpleasant. Highly recommend!
I love this restaurant 😍😍😍😍! This is my favorite restaurant in all of Northern and Central New York! It’s amazing!!! The food is so good, you will not want to leave, lol. Go for lunch and then come back for dinner, 😁. Thai food is pretty hard to find in this region and to be blessed with such gosh darn good Thai food is a blessing from heaven. I might have to move to Potsdam, in the apartment to across the street, so I can walk over for meals 🤣😍😁. The quality is off the charts, the service is one of the top 4 in the region, the seating is the best there is in Potsdam (outdoor and indoor), the prices are actually very cheap for a specialty restaurant and they have a proud history of serving this community. The servings are huge, so you will never leave hungry or disappointed. I literally cannot say anything about them that is not a glowing, amazing review. This is what restaurants are supposed to be. Live long and prosper 🤟🏾
I recently visited this restaurant and had a pleasant experience overall. If you're looking for a quick place to grab some food, I would highly recommend it. I ordered the Crazy Noodles, which were a delightful surprise. These wide noodles were cooked to perfection and had a fantastic taste that left me wanting more. The portion size was generous, and the flavors were well-balanced, making it a satisfying meal. However, there are a couple of things worth noting. There is a noticeable break in their hourly schedule, which can be a bit inconvenient if you're not aware of it. Despite this, it's fairly easy to plan around once you know about it. Another point to mention is the exterior appearance. The outside sign looks like it needs some repair or a good cleaning. It doesn't create the best first impression, but don't let that deter you. Once you step inside, you'll find a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. The interior is beautifully decorated and much more inviting than the outside suggests. The contrast between the exterior and interior is quite striking. This restaurant offers a great dining experience with delicious food, particularly the Crazy Noodles. While there are minor issues with their schedule and exterior signage, the friendly ambiance and tasty dishes more than make up for it. I'll definitely be returning for another meal soon.
My first time coming here and I will definitely be back. Filling without making you bloated. Full of flavor. Took the recommendation of the staff on my first dish of Thai. Went with the Basil stir fry with pork as the protein and white rice. Great choice. Loved it. Curious to try more of the large menu. Staff was courteous, efficient and helpful. We ate in the small dine in area which was clean and comfortable.
I've been eating here on and off for the past few years and have thoroughly enjoyed every meal. I've had Thai food in different states and also different cities throughout NY. This is right up there with some of the best I've had! The service has always been on point and the place is clean. I highly recommend! Just so you're fully aware of the process and how this place operates... you order your food at the register, pay for it, and then they bring your food out to you. You're not actually being waited on and you don't get real plates, forks, or knives... As long as you know how the restaurant functions and are expecting that, everything should be PHENOMENAL!
Unfortunately I found out about this spot at the end of my 2 week trip! 😩 If I knew sooner…. I would have been here much sooner and regular! The food is delicious, very tasty and they have outdoor seating in the back off a body of water! What more could I ask for?? I will def be stopping here next time I’m in the area! I’m glad I made the hour drive from Malone tonight. I am not disappointed. Just wish I came sooner. My dish is Shrimp with Green Curry sauce. Spicy level 1-5 is a 3 🤗 And Chicken Satay and Thai Iced Tea.
Great menu as always. Sad news that the former owner did pass away. Good news is the food is just as good and they keep a vigil in her honor. The staff is just as friendly even though she is gone. You can’t beat the taste and atmosphere here. Prices remain almost the same even post COVID. The curry and crab Rangoon is the best we’ve had traveling the country. Be sure to get a Thai iced coffee and pay respects to the dearly departed former owner.
We have eaten here a couple of times but generally get take out to bring home to Canton if we happen to be in Potsdam on business. We generally start with the chicken satay and the fried spring rolls. The satay is the better of the two--the accompanying peanut sauce is particularly good. Three of us get the same dish every time--chicken pad thai, volcano chicken, and orange chicken. All three dishes are delicious, the latter two can be customized to be as hot as you like. I bounce all over the place with my order but have always been pleased with the results, lots of curry (either red or green), sometimes duck, sometimes drunken or crazy noodles. I can't really speak to the service as we seldom eat in, but the food is very good and the take out orders are generally done quickly and accurately.
Sat outside, nice view of the river, clean table, friendly server. Everything was great from the appetizers to the crispy duck, prices are slightly high but not terrible. Worth the money because everything was fresh, tasty and well presented. I don't understand the dirty, frayed carpet, it looks terrible upon entering the place, very off putting.
This is a popular place to order at my office and I tend to be the one doing food pick up a lot. The parking lot is adequate, but the lines are worn off so I never know if I am in a spot, but it usually doesn't matter. I don't eat in the restaurant, but the dining area is always clean when I go in for my pick-ups. One day I would really want to eat-in and use the outside dining area because it looks really nice. The menu is extensive, appropriate, and fairly priced. Portions are perfect. We don't have leftovers and we never finish our office lunches feeling like we want more food. Food is always of high quality. It never feels really greasy or sloppy. If the time ever comes where the menu is updated, I would suggest putting the phone number on the menu. It would just be more convenient that way. Now, the reasons why I took a star off. We never have utensils with out take out orders. I am not sure if it isn't offered or if it just gets forgotten, but I keep forgetting to ask so it can partially be on me as well. Also, the take out contains look like they would be sturdy, but they leak. Even when trying my best to make sure they are level, I have had leaks on my car seat and down the front of me while transporting food. Neither of these negatives are deal-breakers, but worth mentioning.
This place is all about the food! From the outside, it looks like a dingy 1950s or 60s used car dealership. When you enter, however, it is meticulously clean with simple, but pleasant decor. It ain't fancy... That would distract from the food. You walk in and you examine the menu painted on the wall behind the counter. Then you order from the attendant behind the counter. If you are there for pick-up, you pay and take your food. If you are ordering to go, make your order, pay the attendant and your order will be ou pretty quickly. If you want to eat in, give your order to the attendant, pay your money, then find a seat in the dining room, get a paper cup and serve yourself some lemon-infused water, grab your tableware (knife, fork, spoon, and/or stainless steel chopsticks. When your food is ready, the counter attendant will bring it to your table. Now, you get to eat. This is the best Asian cuisine I've had in the North Country. Everything is fresh. The rice is exactly right. The duck is expertly de-boned and cooked to perfection. I've not had such good Thai food since I served in the 7th Fleet! This place is a great little gem that you should see for yourself.
I love this place! I almost always get my food to-go and its always ready when they say it will be. Their staff has always been friendly. I have had a variety of dishes from here and always come back to the Pad Thai. I also LOVE their fresh spring rolls (shrimp)! My husband is obsessed with their Crab Rangoon.
Solid Thai cuisine offering a flavor profile not found anywhere for miles. Nice little dining room, but the atmosphere is casual overall. There is a lovey outdoor seating area overlooking the river. Highly recommend if the weather is nice. The noodle soups are very good, the curries are pretty standard. The duck is always very tasty.
Their tom yum soup is always very tasty. My wife loves their food and would probably eat here every week. Some of their prices can be higher, but all together it isn't too bad. The parking can sometimes be awkward, especially if you have a larger vehicle.
The restaurant had changed with the reopening. We were a little sad to see the dining room changed to more cafeteria style. It used to be a nice place to go for a special night out. HOWEVER, the food is still delicious as always. It's worth it to take out, at least. Hopefully it'll resume its finer dining part soon
At this moment I have nothing negative to say about it. The staff is very nice. And will try and help you out if you're wondering what to get, just ask. What I had tasted pretty good, and they will have something on the menu you'll recognize. Sampler platter is your go-to if you can't decide. I Look forward to going back.
Usually stop by here at least once when visiting the area. The food is good and well prepared and of a much superior quality than the local Chinese places. Though the outside building is nothing to look out, the interior is nice and they do a great job with the meals! Great place for tasty and spicy Thai dinner!
I enjoyed Shrimp Pad Tai and found it excellent! My wife was disappointed that her Chicken Pad Tai seemed tough and dry. The Spring Rolls were fresh with a tasty sauce to balance them. Disposable tableware, self-serve water and no condiments on the table suggested that the meal was a bit overpriced for the community. Had there been tablecloths, condiments and real tableware the price/experience would have been better.
This restaurant fills a niche here in the north country and I love that they offer a number of GF items. Some of their entres are very tasty, but over the past few years, I have noticed far less veggies and their Pad Thai went from tasty to almost inedible. It's dry noodle with peanuts on top and some overcooked green onions. No other veggies. No bean sprouts, no carrots, no cabbage, no lime wedges. Just a big wad of noodles. I hope someone there is reading this. Pad Thai is the dish most folks start out with at a Thai restaurant. If you lose them there, they won't come back. We want to see you thrive here in the north country, but you have got to up your game. Start with more fresh veggies and Pad Thai that resembles Pad Thai.
The food wasn't bad, but it's just not what I wanted from $17 Pad Thai (I got extra noodles for $2). The flavor profile was just really lacking, and I would have liked to see more egg, peanut, and some more fresh green onions. The appetizer sampler was good, and my husband enjoyed the 5 Queen's. However, again, for the price, we probably wouldn't order a 2nd time. I'm definitely open to trying again in case it was an off night - and will update if I do! 😊
The service and prices are very good here. The food is not expensive and they have a large menu. Unfortunately much of the food is bland and needs seasoning. I spent several years living near Ithaca NY where there are several Thai restaurants that compete with one another and this just isn't as good.
First time here. There is nothing to say about service and cleanliness but I can only give 3 star. Thai cuisine is just the name. It is not authentic Thai cuisine. The peanut sauce from sar tay is the worst I had tried in my life. I m from Asia and this place can just be a regular restaurant. Everything taste so sweet even the spicy one.
Called yesterday for a take-out order, both Google and the official website price for my order were $10 before I placed the order. When I picked up the food, I paid $14. That is a 30% difference($13 is before tax) The price is not been updated, better check the price before placing an order.
The guy that welcomed us is very nice and friendly. However, the waitress was really indifferent as if she did not want to be there and provided the bare minimum service. Food came out quickly, last time was better that's why we came back. The thai iced tea was the best part of our meal.
The Thai noodle soup was the worst soup I’ve ever had it was so intensely sweet but sour at the same time giving it like a stomach bile taste. Absolutely putrid. Spring rolls and fried rice are good though
The food is really good at this place. The atmosphere is really upsetting and ugly. The chairs and tables are very dirty and not nice. I would eat if they changed the entire restaurant and the chairs and tables. But if you don’t do anything about it. I wouldn’t even bother going there. Or recommend it to anyone else. Change first before I or anyone else gose here.
They were out of a lot of stuff…no appetizer, no dessert. I ordered a Tom Yum soup. I couldn’t taste the refreshing lemon grass, instead, i tasted this overpowering sourness. The only things that worked were the basils and the crunched peanuts. The noodles were slightly undercooked. But at least, the food was hot. There were a lot of us and no one was impressed. Thailand is a tropical country, so almost all the authentic refresh ingredients are from the tropics. North Country is nowhere near tropics, so i think 3 stars are fair. The dining area can use a makeover.
It was decent food. Seemed a little Americanized but yet again it is in Canton NY… can’t expect too much. I’d recommend you bring your own water bottle/drink. The drinks were expensive. Spring roll came with 4, I just ate two before taking the photo. Portion sizes were good! Wait staff is very kind and sweet.
Food here is decent. I tried to call in a take-out order. The number I called sends me to an automated message saying to go online to order instead. Not a big deal! So I go onto their ordering service, get my order set up and I'm ready to pay. This is when I find there's no way to actually place the order online, it says at the top of the menu "online ordering not available". Their website says the restaurant is open but their online service does not work and the phone doesn't ring. Guess I'm not getting Thai food tonight!
I was a bit disappointed with the quality of the food and the service. The Tom Kha was very light and missing coconut cream. Same goes for the green curry that came missing the curry itself. They put a minimal quantity of curry and a huge portion of vegetables and rice. So at the end, it doesn’t taste like authentic Thai food that you eat in Thailand. This restaurant serves average food adapted to the local American palet.
Ok food. Great service. Clean restaurant. Friendly atmosphere. I think the food need a more 'flavor', spice + heat . I ordered a 'spicy' or starred item, and the food was bland. Needed more flavor, less sugar.
While the food was yummy, the service was less then great. The unsmiling waitress/hostess tried seating our party of 6 at a 4 person table twice before we suggested her pushing two tables together. We waited only 10 minutes for a couple of cups and silverware to be cleaned away and the tables pushed together. After being seated, we were completely ignored for no less then 15 minutes while the waitresses passed by us without pause, smile, or apology. Before our food could be served, they tried to see if they could take one of our tables to make room for some newly arrived guests. These tables are 2.5 feet on each side, and they wanted to fit 6 people at one, plus food. Umm, yeah, NO! Besides bringing out the wrong food and portion sizes not being worth the price you pay, the food was a refreshing break from the everyday fanfare. If you choose to try it out; go with the knowledge that the service is slow and unfriendly, the staff is inadequate to handle a rush and the location is not large group friendly unless you like elbows in your plate and your friend sitting on your lap.
It’s a bummer….Most of their dishes have similar ingredients (cost cutting maybe?). There wasn’t bamboo shoots or eggplant in the curry like you typically see. The drunken noodles taste and look the same as pad thai (my family thought they received the wrong dish!): They use the same thinner rice noodle (not the soft wide noodle), same sauce (not the spicy chili garlic) and have ground peanuts (?!). It’s the only Thai place around Potsdam so folks probably don’t know the food isn’t as it’s supposed to be.
Immense disappointment. The restaurant used to be phenomenal but here they are now over charging for pre-made, previously frozen cuisine. They are not making anything from scratch as far as we can tell from our visit this evening. "We have been out of crab Rangoon, Thai tea, Thai coffee all week." If you know the preparation for any of these items, you know how ridiculous that statement is. Paper plates, plastic utensils. What a disgrace to Banna's legacy. Now an overcharged, underwhelming experience.
Upon entering our once favorite restaurant, we were told to look at the menu on the wall to place our order. They were out of certain items on their menu this day, totally disappointing. The once warm inviting dining area has a fast food feel..our dishes were served on paper resembling what u would place french fries in, with plastic utensils. It’s a far reach from when we were greeted by Banna Samerpitak, making everyone feel welcome, like family. It was unheard of to be “out of lettuce” or any other items listed on the menu. Quite sad when Banna took such pride in every aspect of her business. We will no longer be eating at our once loved restaurant in the north country.
I order takeout from here quite often. Drunken noodles 10/10, so good! Always hot and fresh. Crab rangoon - always hot and fresh, too! Gave the thai iced coffee a whirl, wasn't that great. I really wish they would do delivery though! Update 9/17/22: it seems they have new ownership - updated menus (with higher prices which is understandable given the price of everything has risen), new staff and now they put wide noodles in the drunken noodle.☹️ they didn't reflect this change on the menu so if you haven't ordered in a while - heads up, your old faves may have changed a bit! The guy running the cash register was wicked nice but you can tell the wait staff isn't doing their job and it's falling back on the cashier. When I was waiting for my takeout order, the waiter was standing behind the cashier on his phone. 5 people came to the register from the didning room while i was there. One who had an issue with her food being made incorrectly, one who needed napkins, 2 who just needed takeout containers and another one about getting water. The poor guy up front was doing EVERYTHING! He was very kind, helpful and efficient. However, please hire better waitstaff. The waiter there wasn't doing a good job (or any job it seemed) at all. Update 1/22/23: No real plates or silverware here and they don't serve you water, there is just a jug of it at the counter up front and you have to go get it yourself. There's no ice in it and I think it's probably just left there for a couple days til someone remembers to change it. This could be a really great place but cutting corners makes it mediocre. Update 12/5/23: I ordered the fried rice with chicken and it had mushrooms. It doesn't say there are mushrooms in it on the website. Also, the flavor was a little bland despite requesting a level 3 spice.
We were far away from home and everyone needed dinner. The internet said that Thai Cuisine was open. We drove there to find it apparently closed. The place looked abandoned and shabby. Who would choose to go in...
I love Thai food ! I used to love this place 10 years ago but it has changed dramatically. The current chefs don’t seem to have the skills to produce dishes on the large menu. They have adopted a cafeteria style dining room where you buss your own table. My suggestion is reduce the menu and work on improving those dishes.
My boyfriend and I got takeout on a date here, he had hair and large pieces of plastic in his food. I got food poisoning and vomited blood. The next morning I was hospitalized. This used to be a great place, and we were regulars. But now it's under new management and I am of the firm opinion it should be shut down permanently due to health concerns.
VEGETARIANS BEWARE. BE CAUTIOUS! Vomiting & Diarrhea could have been avoided today if the chef kept the chunks of meat out of my dish! LUNCH offered soup (all made with chicken broth) without substitutions & not offered a discount. "Ran out" of Jasmine tea also. Really? Tofu Pad See Ew was clearly not prepped on a clean grill/pan from the meat dish cooked before it. Third family visit this year, now our last. Don't order veggie dumplings unless you want to gag on old noodles compressed with a mystery green item into triangles! Visiting my son attending a local University. Similar experience happened to another patron at the next table. She ordered a veggie version of my dish and discovered a two inch long slice of meat. Another family experienced the horror. Sad.
I was surprised by these 5 stars comments below on how many people like the food here. We had a very bad experienced at this place. The food were tasteless and the fried rice came into a chunk of rice 🙄 I’ve been to many Thai restaurant and I have to say this is the worst place I’ve ever been to one. Definitely not going back!
My family and I came here for lunch hoping for a decent Thai restaurant as it was rated quite high. First off was the poor service. They had only two waitresses during their lunch rush. After taking our drink order first and the food order shortly thereafter we waited 20 minutes for our drinks before we got up and asked for them. As it turned out they had completely forgotten about the drinks. The waitresses never came back to the table except for the bill. The appetizer of "vegetable dumplings" were filled only with kale and were drowned in soy sauce. They don't deserve to be called dumplings. Next our dishes came out at completely seperate times with pad thai and crispy pad thai out first. I immediately noticed the vegetable spring rolls were as small as my pinki finger. They both had no peanut butter and was covered in duck sauce instead. The eggs weren't scrambled and were overcooked. Last came out the "pho". The soup used precooked beef and tasted sickenly sweet as though they poured an entire bottle of hoison sauce in it. The service was poor and the food even worse.
If I could give a score of zero, I would. I was in a group of 4 including myself. We were given our drinks. We ordered 2 appetizers, a bowl of soup, and 4 entrees. We waited a half hour and were only brought the soup, and the other appetizers and entrees didnt come out. We spoke with the woman who took our order ( she was also the manager) and asked how much longer the food would take. The woman stated that our food was being "started now". We waited. After a total of 55 minutes 1 entree came out and we were still missing 2 appetizers and 3 entrees. A group of patrons that came in after us received thier food, yet my group and another group that came before thier group hadnt been served. We were then told by another employee that our food hasn't been started yet so we cancelled the rest of the orders. We asked to speak to the manager to see if we could get comped for the 3 meals we didnt receive and the manager refused to come out from the back. We left and will not be going back.
Terrible service. Both the owner and a waiteress are very rude. Seems impatient and irrespective when I made my order. I left my bottle there and they already discarded it into the trash can when I came back in a hour. They told me they would never keep any clients' stuff after they left. Take care of your purse or cellphone when eating there. It will be gone if leaving there. Will never go there again.
Thai Cuisine I will first start by saying i wish i could give less than one star. I brought my fiance, sister and brother in law to this restaraunt and was completly humiliated. I talked them up so much having been there before. Please save your money or atleast give it to a restaraunt that truly wants your business. I hadnt eaten all day due to a crazy schedule. I showed up two hours before I officiated a sporting event for a pregame meal. Little did I know after ordering 4 entrees 2 apps and a bowl of soup it took a half hour to get ONLY a bowl of soup. Long story short we were told our food hadnt been made yet, waited an additional 25 mins to be told it hadnt been started but served one of my guests a plate of food and walked quickly away. Who would enjoy being watched eating? When I went up to the desk to talk to a manager I was told by the staff (after her going to go get the manager and returning assumingly embarrassed due to the look on her face) and stated " she said shes to busy to talk right now." When asked how they expect to compensate the waist of time, humiliation, and hunger we were left with she then says to me "im really sorry sir." What type of manager sends out an employee to deal with a customer complaint. I will say she was atleast kind enough to offer an apology because thats about all I left with. This is honestly the first bad review ive ever written....better yet this is actually my first review ever written and probably never will write another but I want to save anyone else the humiliation I experienced do to people who guinly lack the integrity to run a business . I will never return to Thai Cuisine
One of the worst places I’ve ate in a long time, not to mention the price tag they put on the bland food, I understand being vegan can also hinder what you can order but tell me what Stir Fry is please, is the not something you put in a pan and cook together and season? What I ended up getting was literally boiled vegetables and boiled rice noodles and not even mixed up and cooked together. I recently dined here on St. Patrick’s Day and I must say, I was extremely disappointed with the food and overall experience. My appetizer was vegetable dumplings and veg spring rolls, which turned out to be mushy, didn’t seem to be cooked but also just boiled and lacked any flavor - a complete letdown. The main course was no better - I mentioned before my stir fry and my significant other said her Pad Thai was overbaringly sweet and lacked the signature tangy and aromatic taste that makes Pad Thai so special. Even the rice felt like it was overcooked and under-seasoned. Very very disappointed with my $66 meal Can’t say I’ll ever go back there
It was Friday and arrived at 745p. Not from the area and was hoping to dine in. We were told the dining area was closed and decided takeout anyway. We bought several items which added up to over $90. The food is absolutely horrible and has zero flavor. The only thing remotely Thai about this restaurant is the pictures on the wall. I would not recommend.
So disappointed. First red flag, my Thai Tea came in a small Pepsi branded paper cup. 2nd red flag, the Pad Thai I ordered was served in cardboard. 3rd red flag, before I even took a bite the Pad Thai didn’t even look right, when I say it was white, I mean the whole dish had no color. I had chicken added and asked that the Pad Thai be made spicy, it wasn’t, as a matter of fact it was bland and flavorless, I think the chicken was boiled, that was the flavor and texture of it. The worst Pad Thai I’ve ever had. Sadly I would not recommend this place.
Was recommended to come here by a family member. The food was decent, but not plentiful enough for the price paid. This isn't what bothered me however, what bothered me was the waitresses. The waitress who greeted us gave me a dirty look (the person I was with noticed it as well) and threw our menus on the table. The other waitress who helped us was nice, but the experience was already sullied. Additionally, we went at the later hours, and the location for dining in is quite bad if you are pointed toward the window as the gas station across the street has cars at the pumps, which shine their headlights straight at the window (and into my eyes) for at least a couple seconds. I decided never to go here again.
First, the food is almost always very good here. Today I’m giving it a single star because of the service. We ordered 4 take out meals and apps. I ordered on line at 4. Expected pick up was 5:05. We got there at 5. At first they couldn’t find my order because it came in with someone else’s name on it (or so they said). At 5:10 they told us they were out of the ingredients for one of our meals, so we gave them an alternate. They said it would be an extra 10-15 minutes. We waited and waited and waited. The rest of our order sat on the counter getting cold. Around 5:30 we asked how much longer it would be. After another 5-10 minutes our order was complete. I made no further comments on the lateness of the order, but I wasn’t smiling as we left. As we walked out the door, the counter person said loudly that we don’t need to come back if we’re not happy. Such an inexcusably rude thing to say for an $80+ order that we had to wait so long to get. The on line order has all my information so they could Contact me if an item couldnt be fulfilled. Very disappointed in the rude behavior.
Impossible to understand the good reviews. On the plus side: fast service and a good crisp shrimp spring roll. Mediocre rice, a poor pad Thai with scary chicken, and a sodden orange chicken with no orange in evidence. They were completely out of duck at 6pm on a Saturday, but maybe we were spared as a result. Save your money and make something at home.
If you are vegan do NOT go here. I have been to this restaurant on numerous occasions always asking for vegan friendly option as stated on their menu. They do not know what vegan means, always putting the oyster and fish sauce into their vegan dishes. I have also got eggs in my vegan dishes. I’ve had problems with this every time I’ve ordered out or dined in. A lot of times I didn’t find out until I made it home which was extremely disappointing. VEGANS BEWARE.
Portions were small including the drinks (bunch of ice) and the food is not traditionally made. This place is a gentrification version of Thai food. Plus did not listen to special instruction when asked to make orange chicken crispy they did not listen.
I can only rate the vegetable dumplings. They were grease soaked and completely tasteless. After one bite of that, I went back to get a side order of brown rice. Unfortunately, I poured the dumpling sauce over the rice, thinking it was soy sauce. It wasn't. It was sweet and syrupy (and not in a good way). So I ruined half the rice as well.
I have ordered from Thai Cuisine since I moved to Potsdam in 2009. I recently ordered a green, red and mango curry. They gave me the exact same curry, all orange, all mostly coconut milk, no curry. I called them and they gaslit me, implying that I have never ordered from them before and I don’t understand their curries. They also lied and said this is “the way their curries are always made.” They were a great restaurant. Not anymore.
Rice is too wet, food is seasoned weird, soups are watered down and it's expensive. Big regrets, went home $90 poorer and family is still hungry. The food was so unappetizing two dishes went mostly uneaten. Would have been a Karen, but the waiter never checked up on us again. Rename "Sort of Like Thai Cuisine".
Overpriced bad food. I’m sorry but I paid 13.99$ for a small bowl (which was their large size) of vegetable thom kha. A regular sized dinner soup bowl. That a hot pot price for a small bowl. I will not be back
Absolutely the worst Thai food I’ve ever had. I ordered veggie pad Thai to go. Opened the container to frozen (bagged) microwaved veggies laying atop plain rice noodles. No seasoning, just some peanuts sprinkled on top. I drove back to the restaurant, thinking it was a mistake. No. This is their pad Thai. They offered to remake it. It was exactly the same. No seasoning. No garlic. No tamarind. Just boiled rice noodles under microwaved veggies. Definitely would NOT recommend Thai Cuisine!
the worst Thai restaurant. Tom yum was diluted with water. for a large bowl of soup I got: 4 shrimps, one scallop and a couple of pieces of squid. And raw mushrooms as a topping. If you call yourself a Thai restaurant, then at least read about Thai cuisine. And let the chef fly to Thailand and learn how to cook their cuisine properly. We don't need your apologies, better review all your dishes. And do it the right way.
I am not sure how this place has such a high review. The food was absolutely abysmal. We ordered Pad Thai, Pad See Ew and Mango Curry. The Pad Thai tasted like molasses and the Pad See Ew tasted like sprite, it was the most bizarre Thai experience. On top of it neither noodle dish appeared to have been stir fried at all, more like the sauce had just been dumped on top. They also make you pay and tip before you sit down, the tip options are 20, 25 and 30% which did not make sense because the water and utensils are both self serve. The waiter only brings your dish to the table and absolutely nothing else. This is probably why they ask for tip immediately instead of after service. Will absolutely never come here again.
Sometime was burnt/ charred in my food!Nothing in my meal is grilled! The red curry chicken is bland. Majority of it is green beans, minimal chicken in the order. The rice was okay. They only serve dinner portions for lunch time now, 15$ for bland red red curry veggies with a small amount of chicken. Not satisfied with the food. Staff was nice
