Babe's is always delicious! The food is hot and fresh, good old fashioned home cooking like Mom (or Grandma) used to make! One dinner with sides is enough to feed two people. The parking situation is a little difficult for the uninitiated (because there is no actual parking at the restaurant) but you'll figure it out. I highly recommend eating here (if you love chicken)!

If you are looking for an old fashioned family style meal Babe's is a place to try. There are several locations in the Dallas/Fort Worth metro area. For reasonable price you get a choice of chicken, chicken fried steak, or fried catfish and unlimited sides of green beans, corn, mashed potatoes, biscuits and gravy. The food is good. Each location has unique fun decor. The restrooms are clean. The staff is friendly and they have deserts that are worth trying if you have room after the generous meal portions.

For years Bade's has been consistent for good food and service. Very good food and fresh vegetables with portions served family style. You will not be disappointed.

This was my first time going to this location. I've been to the Roanoke location a few times. The fried chicken reminds me of the way my grandmother made it. The mashed potatoes and gravy are perfect. You won't get fake instant potatoes here. The biscuits are perfect too. I had planned on taking more pictures, especially of the food. But when our waitress brought it to the table, I immediately dug in and completely forgot about this review. The service is great and everyone was friendly. We went on a Saturday evening a little after 5 pm. We did have a 25 minute wait, but I didn't care. I would have gladly waited an hour. The staff was very efficient at cleaning tables and keeping the traffic flow seamless. If you are craving fried chicken and want a cool town to visit, you won't go wrong here. We'll be back. My girlfriend wants to hit more shops in the town square.

We waited till the last minute to decide on dinner, 850 to be exact and they close at 9. The manager and waitress were so welcoming and fabulous. Food was hot and fresh, service was excellent and everything was on point. She checked on us regularly never missing a beat. Made sure our drinks were always full and bowls never empty. Man this place is great! Menu is so simple it is a verbal one. Had the smoked chicken (on par with what I do at home, and that is saying something), fried chicken (absolutely delicious and so fresh it was burning my mouth), and an actually fork-tender chicken fried steak. Babe's is a solid meal for any family gathering or just a Saturday in town. It's nothing fancy or spectacular but you'll leave full and generally happy with the experience... and isn't that what it's all about? I'd personally like to see the protein portion size a bit larger but to be honest that's splitting hairs because the sides are really the highlight of the meal. The salad is unique as compared to other side salads and is a favorite of both mine and my wife. The corn is quite the treat too. Lastly, let's not forget the biscuits that are hot, fresh, and almost always perfectly prepared. The servers are attentive, upbeat, and pleasant. They "read the room" well and seem adept at engaging or standing off as the situation calls for. Moreover, they are responsive so don't hesitate to communicate your needs. Enjoy!

Babes chicken is an interesting place. The service is a bit abnormal. You don’t order like most places. You just pick your meat choice and they bring out every side they have. The food was very good but our server didn’t come by very often. I sat with an empty glass for 20-30 minutes before I flagged her down to ask for more. The atmosphere was a little spooky. Dissonant country/folk music that freaks my kids out and mannequins in chairs in the restaurant. It felt like that mine cart ride at six flags.

Chicken is amazing, in whatever form you get it. I got fried, my wife got chicken fried steak. Both were great. The cost of your meal includes salad and sides. Standard sides are corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, and some kind of green beans. We asked for a bag or box to take home our leftovers and were straight up told “No” by our server. Basically, she will get you a bag or small box for your leftover chicken, but you can’t take home leftover sides. We thought this was bizarre, but the server wouldn’t budge. We asked to speak to her manager, who she went off to get. The manager explained that the sides are “all you can eat”, so they don’t let you take home what you don’t eat then and there. But we hadn’t finished the first serving of sides, so it seemed like at least that much should be considered what we paid for with the meal. I can understand they don’t want people polishing off plate loads of mashed potatoes and then asking to take home the uneaten last plate loads, as this I guess would technically be “all you can eat plus extra”. But we hadn’t asked for additional servings of anything and felt like we paid for at least the first servings worth. Anyway, the manager ultimately asked the server to bring extra boxes for the leftover sides so we could take them home. The about taking home leftover sides is not posted anywhere, at least no where conspicuous, so we weren’t aware. It’s a weird policy, I think. Somewhat understandable, but somewhat not. I guess we’ll know the next time we go in. New diners, consider yourselves warned.

We had a fantastic lunch and were really impressed with both the fried chicken and the smoked chicken—each was flavorful, well-cooked, and clearly made with care. Our server was friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu, which made it easy to decide what to try. The overall experience was relaxed and enjoyable from start to finish. We’ll definitely be back and look forward to trying more of what they have to offer.

It was a busy Saturday night in Granbury and we were getting hangry. We decided on Babes, which is located in the downtown area, where there is little to no parking. We illegally parked in the church across the street. (Sorry Lord, please forgive us) 😁we only did because there were no services in session. We were immediately seated and our server explained the non-existent menu. You could pick from several kinds of chicken and then all of the sides were shared. We were very surprised to hear alcoholic drinks were not being served. My partner chose the chicken strips and I picked the smoked chicken. Biscuits and salad were served. Both were delish. The chicken and sides came out. Both chicken dishes were very good, as was the mashed potatoes. The corn was just ok and the green beans were awful. The music of the night was very loud, making it hard to hear the server and each other. We asked for a box to take the chicken strips home and was told there were no boxes, just bags. We bagged up our chicken strips and made our way out. The family style serving was nice. It would have been nice to have a beer or a glass of wine as well. The place was busy and obviously good but it was not a place I would return to.

Not really sure why this place is rated so high but I would say it was average. Smoked chicken tastes good but sides almost seem like they were just canned. Salad well, basic is the best way I can describe it. Anyway seemed like a fun atmosphere but loud. Not too loud but right at the level any louder and you cannot hold a conversation. I guess the way I would sum it up KFC might be a better use of time and cost for dinner.

The meats were well prepared, but the sides were not very good, there is a reason they are bottomless lol. They don't have ranch dressing which was a big minus for me. Mediocre food. They get huffy and act very offended if you dare ask for a menu. Instead, the wait staff regurgitates a pre-scripted rundown of their offerings and expects you to make a decision the instant they stop talking. Similarly with their beverages, you have to ask what they have (“it’s a cola drink, not Coke…”) and they’re annoyed to have to respond. Food is fine, but overpriced and overrated. They seem to think that making their sides “all you can eat family style” makes up for their lackluster quality. If there’s anything you don’t finish, you’re stuck. They’ll expect you to slop your leftover entree into cheap plastic Walmart-style bags, if you don’t finish. Gross. With the price people shell out, the owners here could at least afford to-go boxes for what’s left over. I have family who love to come here (beyond my comprehension), but I don’t plan on returning enthusiastically or voluntarily.

As another reviewer said, it's about impossible to take anything home. My kids wanted their left over chicken nuggets. They brought us a couple of small plastic baggies. If you wanted the nasty green beans and mashed potatoes, you'd be out of luck. The salad consisted of head lettuce and one kind of dressing (sweet vinaigrette) only. Head lettuce! Not even spinach or other types of greens?! At $18 - $20 a plate, on a not-crowded Wednesday evening, I struggled to understand why this place has any good reviews. Plenty of restaurants in Granbury. Pick another one.

My family and I have been coming to this location for months. We kept trying to give it another shot at a good experience and the Granbury location has lacked a positive experience several times now. The service is always hit or miss. I don’t want to talk badly on the server, just going to give her the benefit of doubt that maybe she was having a bad day. You’re supposed to eat the CFS dry at home or be expected to have gravy at home by chance? We were also denied taking home our leftover soda by our specific waitress tonight even though we have been allowed to take it home before but maybe that was just those waitresses being nice and not really supposed to. There’s more points to add due to the poor business practices but I don’t care to write them out.

While placing a pickup order I asked for additional dipping sauce for my meals. I even offered to pay for the extra condiments. Upon pick up, I asked about the dipping sauce and was quickly told it was in the bag. The lady at the counter asked me to please sign the top receipt and simply walked away without another word. The food is good. It is also expensive. If you aren't able to give good customer service, just please give the requested condiments.

Food was just ok, server was rude, and no parking for large vehicle and on handicap parking! There are so many better pmaces to eat with parking and wonderful servers. We were there when they opened. I expected much better food, faster food and drinks, and better servers! I won't be back.

We have been coming to babes for a long time. It depends on what waiter/waitress we get on whether or not we had a good experience. The food is always good. We came in one night last week and we have 3 kids (8,5,4). Instead of ordering 3 kids plates, we chose to order an adult meal for the younger two to share and the oldest kid a kids meal. We were told we would be charged a vegetable plate for one of the kids that were sharing. We tried to explain that we were ordering an adult plate because there’s simply not enough meat on a kids plate to fill them. They don’t eat most of the sides so we order more meat. Which in turn is spending more money than the 2 kids meals put together. I understand charging extra if two adults split a meal, but charging for 2 small children to share was absurd. Sadly, we won’t be back because of the business practices. But like I said in the beginning, it depends on the server you get. We’ve done this other times and haven’t had any issue. This young woman wasn’t comprehending so we ended up leaving.

Food was good like always but always always check your bags and make sure you got exactly what you ordered before you leave. We live in Stupidville aka Stephenville which is 30 minutes away so I don't have time to go back to get the missed items that we ordered. This has happened the last 4 times that we've picked up our order, last time was for my grandson's birthday party.

Really disappointed that Babe’s Chicken doesn’t keep the standard of their other locations. First, not a big fan of a waiting 20 minutes just to get inside to find a bunch of empty tables. NOT A FAN. Then the server and food was mid. Get better management.

We got our food togo and they said they couldnt give us a togo box because thy didnt have any so we got a bag for our chicken. I understand them having a policy but if your gonna charge us as much money as they did for the food at least let us get some togo boxes.

This was not the BABES I went to at Sanger and Roanoke for all those years! If it wasn't for the batter in the chicken fried steak there wouldn't have been one.The gravy and catch-up gave it a much improved flavor.Still left half of it. Tea and corn were good Biscuits were good and white.Had to add butter to the art. Mashed potatoes to give it some quality. Wife's chicken was burnt both in color and texture.Sent it back and received exactly the same thing.The nice waitress said that's the way it comes from the kitchen every time.Left there hungry and went to KFC which I'm not fond of to let my wife to eat the original chicken she is can stomach.IOh Yes I bought their 2 gt.Molasses Bottle of syrup and glad to report it's great.

We were seated promptly, and our server was very attentive during our entire meal. The atmosphere was what I would have expected it to be. Mostly clean, only off things were the Lazy Susan on the table was greasy, and one of the chairs at our table was an office chair 😂 Our server first brought out biscuits, (super good), and a salad (okay, but was overly drenched in some kind of house dressing). Ordering was super confusing, no menu, no mention of prices (our fault for not asking). My husband and I decided to go with the smoked chicken, as we wanted something a bit healthier (We came here with a few others, and they had chosen the place ). The food came and it was awful! The smoked chicken was very, very greasy, and quite small pieces (one tiny breast, tiny thigh, and tiny drum; way smaller than a normal size you’d expect). The sides were so bad that we (my husband and I), couldn’t eat them: instant mashed potatoes, and I’m pretty sure the creamed corn and green beans came straight out of the can. If we weren’t with a group we would have sent the entire meal back (sides were served family style), and went somewhere else. We quietly sat and tried to eat the smoked chicken. The check came and I felt for what we got it was outrageous! $18.99 for the tiny three pieces of greasy “smoked” chicken, and $10.99 for the instant potatoes and canned veggies that we didn’t touch. Also this is the cost for one person (so $32 per person); we chose to share a meal, thank goodness. I did quietly speak to the manger; and he took off the price of the sides. We had eaten other places during this weekend visit, and got huge wonderfully made meals for half that price.

Very interesting little town...I was 1st in line to be seated and a gentleman and daughter was behind me. A lady came to help him right away. Another gentleman walk in after me and another lady went straight up to help him. After sitting for a few more minutes, I realized that maybe I'm not worth serving. So I will spend my money elsewhere.

Fish was terrible and no tarter sauce served with it had to ask and took very long time to get it. . Small bowels for this type of table and when asked for more it took too long to get the food back to table. Was not impressed. And they were not busy Took too long to be seated according to the amout of people there.

The Quality of food was Horrible. My plate had food on it. I cleaned it off myself. Chicken was not done. The green beans were over cooked. Mashed potatoes were like past. . The tea tasted like last weeks. The salad was good. There prices have gone way up. It is 19.99 for chicken now. Two people with one drink was $50. I did call the manager Kyle at the Granbury. He just said he was sorry it wasn’t up to their standards. He didn’t offer any compensation. It was my husband’s birthday didn’t want to complain at the table and ruin his birthday. After we left he said that will be the last time we go there. It was the worst meal he’s ever had. Not the Babes we have had before and the price has gone way up and Quality way down.

You guys really screwed up when you disallowed patrons to bring in their own alcohol. And if you are not going to allow patrons to bring an alcohol, you should have alcohol is an option on your menu. We love the food and we love the place, but we will not be coming back

We had went to babes for dinner, we had gotten the chicken strips to share for 19.99 which included unlimited side. When it was time to pay the had added an unnecessary 11.99 for a vegetable plate just cause we got a the chicken strips to share. Very upset and disappointed in a restaurant I loved. Will not be going back again.

Way to over priced, they hyped this place up but it’s really nothing to get excited about. you get “family style “ plates but it’s not enough to feed the 4people I was with, small portions, they had us waiting for a refill on the sides and it took so long. No dipping sauce was offered when asked. I wished that I would of gone to canes instead i would’ve got more bang for my buck.

In my opinion, it wasn't the right choice as recommended, because it was a young lady's first time and the manager was a lady on the floor. Another young woman assigned us a table, but she didn't offer any appetizers, I don't understand why. That you met. And looking at my cell phone at the photos of the Babe Rest menu. Because I and my wife had doubts. Well, they explained the trick to me, The menu tells us about a breaded grilled breast and between Bean, Mais Grabi etc. While waiting, the young woman brought the food service, she served me the bosquit green salad and a piece I think looked like stake which was not what we ordered, the first bite had nothing to do with it, I didn't say anything Wife also not wanting to express it, I told the young woman that it was not like that, she told me that if we knew the menu!I told the lady I wanted breast or tender, look or understand, she understood us, the wait was Our hunger was gone when the waitress arrived.I asked for the bill, I paid 41 with something and I said thank you very much. I got a bad impression. He didn't come back, not even for recommendations. I must understand that the manager should be more attentive, he is a waiter and have Person trained to explain the concept of food well,I thought the waitress was going to talk to the mom to give us a good explanation or something like that or look for options for us but that wasn't the case. I paid or we got up from the table and left. I don't recommend her. We ended up cooking at the house wow.A fatal experience.
