Love the service, love the food, love the atmosphere (outside on the patio with our dog). Fridays for fish tacos is my favorite! Always fresh. Always a smile.

Ordered Afternoon Chicken Clubhouse ($10.25). Yum! My first time here and the service plus food are awesome! The sandwich was not skimpy on any ingredients (especially avocado!). Bacon is crispy and the chicken tender. French fries remind me of Give Guys. Slightly crispy but mushy on the inside. Very tasty. Looks like they have burgers and gyros too. I’ll be coming back to try them soon!

Ordered Afternoon Chicken Clubhouse ($10.25). Yum! My first time here and the service plus food are awesome! The sandwich was not skimpy on any ingredients (especially avocado!). Our Family LOVES this place. Bob and his wife had a wonderful Idea openeing this deli. I will have great memories here for as long as I live. This is one of few places my hubby can eat fries. Whatever type of oil the other places use up here use have always made him sick. His reaction is similar to an allergic reaction. He also loves the Bison burger. My kids and I like too many things to mention. They will ALWAYS have our business as long as they are around. Thank you Bob for having a wonderful place that will also be special to me!!! If you are reading this looking for a new place to try... You would be crazy to pass this up!

The cheapest lunch in town. They have a lot of vegatarian options and just a lot of options. Under $10 for a sandwhich and fries. Their meat is all natural and they have beer if you like to tie one on with lunch, as they close at three. The guy who works the register is on it. The owner's got lucky with this guy.

Nevada County local, born and raised yet somehow I have been glossing over this gem for years 🤷‍♂️ Shared a Chicken "cheese steak" sandwich (not sure the name) with my 15 month old and we both LOVED it! The fries here are some of (if not the) the best in town! Crowded but we found seating outside and enjoyed lunch with family. Outdoor seating area is just secluded and private enough to keep it from feeling like you are eating in front of Kmart as the backdrop is small pines. Place is busy and it's well deserved but the parking is generous and the workers move quickly but are also attentive to detail. All around good experience for my first time through, will definitely be back! Oh yeah, and they have beer 🍺😍👍

That’s why I always save my fries for last - not only are they the tastiest fries in Nevada County, they also help ease the pain of missing that delicious sandwich 😆. If I’m being honest, the staff always seems a bit stressed… but maybe it’s just because they’re always super busy because they are amazing. Lots of vegan options, alternatives, and the staff is very knowledgeable about how to make substitutions to suit all dietary needs. Thanks for being the true delight we all need in the afternoon 😉🙏🏽

I get a hankering from a sandwich every now and then and when I do I come to Afternoon Deli. They have many amazing options, but I just get a deli turkey sandwich on gluten-free bread toasted with a bag of chips and it's so damn good. First of all, most GF bread sucks. Theirs does not. The quality of ingredients is apparent, which I also appreciate very much. It's not much to write home about from an ambiance stand-point but I don't care and find it a little charming. The folks who run it are present and engaged—you can feel the love in the food.

Afternoon Deli is my favorite place to pick up lunch. The tempeh they use is the best I’ve ever had. There’s such a wide selection of great vegan sandwiches (and even sides - hello v potato salad!) I can order, and my meat-adoring in laws have been back multiple times on their own (and they don’t get out much) since we took them there. And falafel!!! FANTASTIC FOOD, friendly service, vegan cookies (!!!), and so easy to get on and off the highway. I really can’t say enough about this little gem of a restaurant.

They have something for everyone. I usually just get the gyro, it's very good. Everything looks and tastes very fresh. The food comes out a little slow tho, I wouldn't recommend here if you're in a hurry.

Best kept secret for us locals. Their food is always consistent, staff is friendly and service is great. I love the tempeh ruben sandwich with delicious yam fries.

Prices are good. My sandwich, the ready steak was lacking in wowers. I would not order it again. The tea was lightly flavored. The gyro meat was awesome. They support wearing of masks and do it themselves.

I have been before and had 5 star service. This last time i went i waited 30 minutes for a falafel and fries and watched 5 people the came after me be served. I made it apparent that i was still waiting. I had to complain for them to realise they had forgotten my order. Once they made my food it only took about 4 minutes to get and was very yummy food. I will go back, but just be more on it with my order.

The food was fresh and tasty, but i ordered two sandwiches, and one had almost no meat on it at all. There weren't many veggies, so the sandwich was mostly bread and spreads, and they were the same sandwich. So i give them a much lower grade because in the restaurant industry, consistency is king.

Have not been there in a couple years. Food was good, no complaints, but I remember it being fabulous when I use To go there.

The "gyro" I ordered was a turkey burger patty cut up with a spoon. I will definitely go to MeZe next time. The owner was griping about parking lot being full of target customers and lost his temper. Not a good look.

Service was ok but the food was terrible! Basket of fries 80% were burnt. Had ywo different sandwiches, turkey & Gyro subpar on both! I did get something extra a Stomach ach, stay away

I love this place but every time I get fries they’re soggy and not cooked covered in oil. No refund nothing not worth it. Tired of spending 15$ and getting an uncooked side.
