We had dinner at Izzica this evening and the experience was truly excellent. My wife and I started with two very good appetizers: the delicate and flavorful glazed eggplant, and the octopus on a pumpkin cream with crumbled taralli, an original and perfectly balanced combination. For our second course, we chose the black sesame-crusted tuna with sweet and sour onion: impeccably cooked and a truly successful combination of flavors. To round out the evening, a soft-centered chocolate cake accompanied by a surprising parmesan gelato: a truly delicious, refined dessert. The staff was impeccable throughout the evening: kind, attentive, and very professional. Kudos to Antonio, the owner, for his friendliness and professionalism, which make the atmosphere even more pleasant and familiar. When we ordered the ravioli with cardoncelli mushrooms, it's true, we asked if we could split the portions, but we were told it was impossible due to the quantity. Therefore, I assumed the portion was a full one, especially since when you served the dishes at the table, we weren't told they were half portions. However, aside from this inconvenience, just to clarify, I gave it 5 stars because I had a great experience. My first review follows: The place is beautiful. I love the idea of ​​walking in and walking through shelves of typical products before reaching the table area, where the walls are lined with bottles of all kinds. The food is divine, as are the plating and the combinations of top-quality ingredients. The appetizers are delicious, as are the first courses, and even the desserts. Perhaps the portions of the ravioli with cardoncelli mushrooms and crispy bacon could be adjusted, but otherwise, everything was perfect. 🔝🔝🔝

My mum and I decided to have dinner in Grottaglie after browsing the lovely little ceramic workshops and my god are we happy we found Izzica. We received a fine dining experience with food that was so fresh and good we could not believe we found this gem. I am vegan and they easily catered to that preference with amazing dishes that were neither lacking finesse nor flavour. The owners and chef were so friendly and attentive, and made sure we had a great experience throughout the whole evening. If you are in the area I really urge you to check this restaurant out, you will not regret it!
