Went with my partner for Valentine’s Day and the staff and atmosphere was super lovely. The food was tasty and I’m excited to try other menu items. Teresa was the best and made the experience 10x better. Definitely coming back because of her.
All I said was good morning, and my neighbor says "if you take him he'll buy you lunch at La Costanera Restaurant" Take who..where..I said..and he says..my friend Wally..he's a hunchback, and has trouble sitting in cars, and needs a ride back to Half Moon Bay, but the shuttle bus that brought him to Napa wasn't running for another 3 days, so can you take him, he'll sit in the back of your truck, and you can strap him down so he doesn't bounce around. Well, I thought about it, real hard because it's illegal for sure ..but the thought of eating at La Costanera outweighed all else! My neighbor had a big cardboard box that his new refrigerator came in, and we put It in the back of the truck, and put Wally the hunchback in it, strapped it down and off we went! And Man-O-Man was that a lunch! The catch of the day was amazing! 5 stars and well worth the trip! ☆☆☆☆☆
An amazing experience in the harbor of Half Moon Bay! We came in on a weekend day trip looking for some good drinks and a nice view and wow were we amazed by the experience! KJ at the bar took such good care of us, the cocktails were YUMMY! Food was also fantastic, we were recommended a ceviche tasting, pulpo and arroz con mariscos which were all superb recommendations. We will definitely be back and tell our friends about this special gem in the harbor.
Came here for anniversary. Staff was great, food was great, drinks were amazing. Definitely want to suggest the chorizo empanada, the Pisco Chicha Morada, and the panna cotta. I'll be coming back.
This is a great peruvian restaurant! It is a fine dining restaurant and therefore perhaps not the most authentic or traditional, there are cheaper options for peruvian food if that's what you want. But the chefs here do an amazing job. The atmosphere is stunning, especially if you go on a clear day and can see the beach or the sunset. The interior is beautiful as well! The staff and friendly polite and professional. The ingredients are all top notch and fresh as can be, I don't believe anything on the menu could dissapoint. I particularly recommend the Chicha Morada Pisco Sour, and for the dessert the suspiro. Que requito esta! Edit for another visit (my 3rd?): definitely will get the Yucca Croquettes everytime, they're sooo good. Also the king salmon was the best salmon of my life, definitely! And while potatoes au gratin are always good, this was also the best rendition of that dish I have ever tasted!!! Edit for my 4th visit: it was still really good, although this time they didnt add any cheese on top of the yucca croquettes. And the king salmon did not come with the creamy sauce it had last time I went.

What an amazing experience. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was wonderful. We definitely picked the perfect spot to celebrate my husband's 30th birthday. Our server, Michael, was very friendly and helpful, and we even learned some very interesting facts from him! We can't wait to come back. Thank you!
It’s been a very long time since I have felt compelled to write a restaurant review, particularly a favorable one. Everything about our experience, here was terrific. Most importantly the food was superb, But the service and the environment were equally wonderful. Can’t wait to come back despite the 1 Hour drive
This was the absolute best Peruvian I've ever had. So flavorful, delicious and plated nicely. The service was great as was the atmosphere. Wish we lived closer. My main course was so good I ate it before I got a picture. My husband got the lamb and potato lasagna looking thing (very fancy description I know). The other pic is their tuna tartar or ceviche (😬 I forget which), but it was AMAZING!!

We sat at an outdoor table and waited for over 20 minutes without even a glass of water, and no waiter came to ask if we had ordered. I hope the waiters in this restaurant can be more attentive and pay more attention to the guests sitting outdoors. As for the food, drinks and snacks, they were all very good.
Such a lovely place with ocean view. The food was fantastic it was a little spicy and it was a very nice treat after along day at the cold ocean.although we had a little delay with our main course because the restaurant was fully packed but the staff was very caring and manager gave us a discount and complementary desert from the chef for the minor inconvenience.
Been meaning to try this location. First, the view is beautiful if it would have been a beautiful day. Nevertheless, the service and the food was awesome. We ordered to share: yuca chips and BBq ribs. Eh. Yuca chips was ok. Ribs was so good. We each othered: lomo saltado, adobo, seafood chaufa, and pescado Costanera. Yummy. For drinks: Pisco Sour. For dessert: Vanilla Panne Cotta and Suspiro a la limena. Let me tell you. Everything was yummy including their chips. I would definitely come back.
Delish! From the first bite to the last the food was excellent! I had the special which was swordfish and it was perfect! The sauce on the beet salad really kicked it up a notch! BF has the croquettes and the paella and that was also really good! Service was great, very attentive! Will definitely come back!
Had lunch there this afternoon. We had a variety of appetizers, fruit freeze beer. The ceviche and the fried calamari were good and fresh. The seafood paella was tasty, lots of fresh seafood, the fish stew was good, the swordfish was delicious, and the vegetarian taco with mushrooms was flavorful. Generous portions. Very good service, our waiters Michael and Guimba were so nice. It's nicer seating on the patio than inside the dining room. It's roomier sitting on the patio.
My first time here and I didn’t have too many expectations as it appeared to be a Peruvian/California cuisine style restaurant. Very pleasantly surprised with the welcoming and friendly atmosphere. The food was eclectic to say the least and sometimes you had to search to see the Peruvian roots in a dish. Despite that everything was delicious and very fresh and I really appreciate it so much delicious seafood.

The service was friendly. We received prompt service with minimal wait time (after sunset). However, it is too expensive: $96.00 for two people. The food was great but for as much money as it costs for a plate, I would like to have seen better carb to protein ratios; it seemed like more than half of the plate was just carbs (corn, rice) with much smaller than expected portions of protein.

The vegetarian food was average - paella felt bland and not as flavorful, the yucca fries felt too dry, the corn cob and desserts were good. The outside patio was nice with the heater. Sadly I didn’t get a good level of service which made the experience average. My first drink order was mixed up which caused a delay, then when I wanted to order second drink, I asked the server for menu which they brought but didn’t wait or come back to take the order, and by the time I was asked for drink order I had already finished my meal. Then after the appetizers, the server took the plate and asked to hold on to my silverware which was fine but then totally forgot about bringing the new plate and was chatting with other servers for a while until I waved and had to remind that I was still waiting on the plate. They weren’t even busy and for the price, I expected more prompt and caring service.
I really hate giving bad reviews. Pretty sure we had an unusual experience here. It wasn’t terribly busy, we had a reservation but the service was pretty bad. I get that it’s a hard job, so I feel bad for complaining but it took maybe 45 mins to get drinks and water? We sat there just kinda sitting and waiting. The food was ok. I expected more, the cebiche sampler platter was not impressive. The ahi definitely did not seem sushi grade, which is a made up label anyway. Everything just felt mid. Some needed more salt, spice, citrus. I was impressed with their tequila selection. But the food and service really let me down. The server we had was nice, she just didn’t pay much attention to us. I wouldn’t come back here. I’m sure others have had better experiences, and maybe there’s better food on the menu. But I wouldn’t return.
