Not so sure how these guys got such a low rating. I went minutes before closing and they served me like they had just opened for the day. I ordered chicken curry, goat curry, oxtails, jerk chicken and the brown stew chicken. While I liked everything, the curry (in both the chicken and goat) had the best seasoning but the oxtails we're a very close runner up. The jerk chicken was my least favorite but that was only because the chicken had dried up being that it was the end of the day. The husband and wife were friendly and entertaining. Made us feel at home. The pricing was very reasonable. 5 full plates & several drinks came out to $60-$70 and we couldn't finish it all. I returned about a week later and had them during lunch hours and it was even better!!! I can't wait to come back to New York and eat there again. Great job, Jamaican Dutch Pot!!!

I ordered the daily chicken soup and lemon cake this was the best homemade chicken soup I ever had from a restaurant. The cake was absolutely fresh and delicious I highly recommend and I definitely will be returning!!

We got 3 oxtails , a chicken bbq and a small beef soup. The oxtail was soft and delicious. Rice and peas was good AND I loved the beef soup!! Flavorful ,beef was very tender and juicy and the potatoes was so good!

The oxtail were very tender. The cabbage had a great bite to them.

So I was feeling for some saltfish & callaloo for breakfast and a side of chicken patty my monthly cravings 😪😪10/10 so yummy 😋 and portion size is great food was still hot when it arrived to me. Flavorful but not spicy which I prefer so I can add my own kick to it. will definitely order again.

The soup was delicious, I got the Beef Pumpkin soup. It needed more carrots and ting but they give you a NICE PORTION OF BEEF. Thank you for helping me get over a cold!

I came here late at night with my boys and u walked in and i felt at home, at peace. I ordered medium jerk chicken platter with rice and the sweet lady working the store packed my medium size box to the BRIM, I was shaking with excitement. I pay for the meal (extremely good price btw) and leave, I get faded with my boys and I’m trembling just thinking about the Jamaican food sitting in that plastic bag, I finally can’t wait any longer, I dig in and … oh… my… goodness… I had never experienced such a euphoric, earth shattering experience… a tear ran down my leg… the food was just out of this world, I will never forget that, I will never forget the kind and gentle Jamaican women who made that night complete, 6/5 stars if I could Fn -Highly recommended - Faze Up

The food is great, the quantity is large. The best fried chicken I've had in Long Island... Th3 Curry goat, Jerk chicken, oxtail, Oeas and rice. All excellent. I bought the large oxtail with rice and peas.The food is good but not for $26 for 1 plate of food.Yikes!!

I was looking to buy stew peas for my wife on her birthday. Everywhere I called did not have it, or they didn't have it on Thursdays. I Google Jamaican restaurants near me, and the Dutch Pot came up. If you're well versed with Stew Peas, not everyone can make it the right way. I called, and the young lady who answered stated that it was just coming out of the kitchen for the lunch crowd. So I told her I'd take a large and rushed over. To my surprise, I didn't realize how close it was and how many times I've driven past the restaurant. The young lady had a few customers in front of me but still greeted me and asked what I wanted. I informed he that it was I who called for the large Stew Peas. She said, "ok," and continued making the previous customers' orders. When she was ringing up their orders, she informed me my order was ready as well. Well, let me tell you, the food was delicious! My wife and I loved it. The flavor was authentic as can be. We will be back for more, as well as trying out the rest of the menu. Y

Decent restaurant but more employees are needed for this location.The elderly lady seems extremely overwhelmed and needs help. Also, learn to acknowledge your customer and simply give a "hello, please hold for a few minutes there is a wait or, how may I help you" rather than...what do you want? We don't have anymore chicken, rice, patties.

Food was great but the wait was crazy. It took close to 1 hour to get a simple oxtail rice and peas. Maybe they had a callout I'll try it again to make sure it wasn't a one off situation.

Oxtail is one of the best I’ve ever tasted. Out of 10 experiences I’ve only had 2 instances where I was disappointed. But apart from that I can’t knock this place or price for what they serve.

Coronavirus nightmare. Friday night 8 people in the front, no masks. 10 people in the back playing cards or something, no masks. Server, no masks, singing while working. Guess they don't care. The food is actually really good. Only thing I didn't like is I got so little goat and mostly bones I didn't get meat really. I like meat on my bone but I was disappointed I got all bones. 🥲

This spot generally has good food. Late night, this isn't the spot. You shouldn't sell scrape bottom food just for a sale. At least that was my experience.

I ordered a small and large chicken soup and although the soup was very tasty, there was no meat in either of the soups. There was just a couple of small bones and the soup was mostly made up of carrots, potatoes, and dumplings..

The food used to be really good. I’m not sure if the same chef is there. But for the price I paid, the rice was stale. I’ll drive back to Queens for Jamaican food from now on

Ordered from doordash. Spent 80 dollars 3 large meals .... I was disappointed to so alot of rice and peas. A little bit of vegetable and hardly any meat just bones and sauce. Smh

Well I thought I would love this place however the way the food is prepared is inconsistent... I got some fried chicken one day and it was the best thing I ever tasted then every day after that it was never the same. I addressed the person's who work there but you can lead a horse to water but you can't make em drink it. Today was the last straw for me I tried the chicken ones again I also got rice and peas and trust me nothing had any kind of flavor so that's it for me sorry.... Any person in the food business must keep in mind consistency with the product and customer service along with pricing and cleanliness is everything.........and to many drop the ball .. Just to say everything was fine except food lacked seasoning..please take this in regards I would love to come back

I would give a 1 star but the food is good, but they lack customer service. I used to go there for breakfast but the last few time especially the last time, the woman was so rude, I decided never to go there again. I did my best to keep money within our ppl but I will not tolerate what I've experienced there.

I have NEVER paid this much for jamaican food. We got no type of fish just jerk chicken and oxtails with rice. The food wasn't good enough to be paying 23.00 for oxtails. They don't even spend that much for them to be charging these outrageous prices. I will never return until they lower these prices and get new staff.

Ordered a jerk chicken dinner and a side of plantains through DoorDash. The jerk sauce and the rice and peas were the best part. The jerk sauce has a nice sweet/spicy flavor, however the chicken was okay. Nothing to write home about. Thinking I was having an overall okay meal. The problem began when I opened the plantain box. Those things were so dry that I double checked the app and made sure it was not plantain chips. I was looking forward to those plantains and unfortunately they dropped the ball with them. I called up to inquire if they were old, or sitting there, etc. And to let them know my experience, in hoping they would not serve them to more customers. According to google they are open till midnight and DoorDash says around 10:45pm. For context, I placed the order at 9:48pm. The woman on the phone mentioned that the plantains were not ripe as to the reason of the dryness. TLDR: their plantains were not fresh, not edible and should have never been served. My suspicion is that they were sitting around for quite a while, maybe even the whole day. If you are going to give this spot a try, do it during the day because selling food that dry is unacceptable, especially if they knew they "were not ripe".

Imagine I have been a Loyal customer even when they shut it down order some food and they give wrong order ask to get the food the Food I order that’s a problem they wouldn’t give me my right order I willl never order from them ever again. Listen to me, I ordered a medium curry goat on DoorDash that was my first mistake. But you know you expect a level of professionalism from the business you’re ordering from. Not to be robbed, If the platter was two small sides and a large area for rice. They gave me a medium plate. Just the small portion had curry goat and every other portion was filled to the brim with rice and peas which was rude to me. I took offense to that. Maybe it was me. But a medium is not that small portion. I threw away most of the rice and the curry goat had many bones. But was tasty. Sorry for the grammar I’m so upset.

I ordered oxtail & jerk chicken. Food is dry and less flageolet from any other take out place. I also noticed that they charge NY Tax Rate of 8.875% and Card Service of 3.5% which I did know have I not looked at the receipt.. Am I missing something here about the charges???

I went to the jamaica family fun day at thomas Jefferson highschool, and bought food from here since they were selling at the event.... my family and I were so disappointed. The jerk chicken and the curry goat was ridiculously spicy, and as a Jamaican born woman I KNOW spice. The rice and peas was not cooked all the way. The grains of rice were hard. The food was cold. I just wasnt expecting that from a jamaican restaurant.. I don't usually write reviews but I'm just expressing my disappointment. I spent 28$ and literally had to throw my food in the garbage. I really hope my comment is used as advice and not hate because I love to support my people. This just wasn't what I expected.

I ordered via Uber in the morning so why were my patties old, why was there no saltfish in my callaloo and SALTFISH. The only correct items were the fried dumplings and D&G soda.

The customer service was great over the phone. The girl that picked up was so sweet, nice and very patient with me. The food though! I will never order from here again that’s how bad the food was. The prices are not bad but I’m sorry it’s still not worth the money.
