This pizza place is always a delight to visit! Amazing food, great atmosphere and even better service! You'll have nothing but joy and smiles when dinning here.
Food here was awesome. The service was equally impressive. Ordered a couple of pies to go and was very impressed with the White Pizza w/Broccoli, that was a delicious pie, probably one of the best I've had. I will definitely be returning to this establishment in the near future.
Casual dine in or take out. Great soups, pizza thin and crispy, and people very kind. Can also order wine or beer. Fantastic pizza....sandwiches too...will visit again soon! Reco for delicious fresh ingredients pizzas
Ordered Steak and Cheese subs for Hubby and I for dinner tonight. Sooo Good. We've also had their pizza. I hear their lasagna is to die for. Can't wait to try their other menu items. Thank you Highland City Palace Pizza. ❤
The owner, Maurice, was a gracious host who took the liberty of baking the bread for the Roast Pork Philidelphia style sandwich himself! The sandwich features sharp provolone cheese, and garlicky, broccoli Rabe. It was moist, delicious, and the textures generally complemented one another! This location frequently comes up with new menu items! The employees at the restaurant are all friendly as well. Friendly service, great food, and reasonable, upfront pricing are the reasons that I shall be glad to dine at this restaurant time and time again!
We've only ever had pizza here from the pieces you choose from at the counter, but its always been very good. We like this Location better than the one by our house so we drive the extra bit to eat here.
Palace Pizza at highland city offers a combination of great pizza and great prices. Never have I felt as if a pizza was too heavy in price to justify the quality. Italian family-owned, it continues to impress without any dip in quality. Definitely give them a try at the bare minimum. Also, get the garlic crust. Mmm
Amazing pizza, best I’ve ever had from a pizza place and I’ve been to many in Florida, other states and other countries even in Italy itself. The ingredients they use are the real deal they are high quality and you can tell. If you haven’t tried this place you are really missing out!
My coworker and I love the pizza from here. They are go to lunch place. Don't judge a book from its cover.
The best pizza in Lakeland, Bartow FL area hands down. Probably the best pizza I've eaten in my life. I don't like the commercial chains. Ownership and employees always nice. Seems to be family owned which is always best. If you're in the area definitely check this spot out, it's a must!!! Not the location in Bartow on Broadway, the location in highland city in Publix parking lot.
Had to try this place. Definitely my go to restaurant for Italian. You get your money’s worth. The price is absolutely reasonable. The portions are huge and the taste is out of this world. I’ve ordered from here many times since the pandemic and have never been disappointed.
We live right near palace pizza and we love it! The pizza is amazing! The burgers are beyond good and the Italian entrees are so good. I love the Lobster Ravioli and chicken Marsala. Forget about Olive Garden... go to Palace Pizza!
Pizza, pasta, calzones, etc., it's all excellent! Italian family owned, the staff are always friendly and the service is quick! The scenic murals on the walls are a bonus - they really lighten up the place and make it look bigger than it is. The salads are huge and the same goes for the pasta portions - i almost always have leftovers here! Great selection of pizzas too. My favorite is the stuffed pizza. Yum! And don't miss out on the garlic knots and breadsticks with dipping sauce!
The Best Pizza ever!...and the garlic knots...YUMMO! 😋 I love this place...Highly recommend to anyone for great service and cleanliness! Never have been disappointed with ANYTHING here! You pay for what you get and worth the price for sure! Will be back many times!!
This place has really fallen off its high marks since the original owners sold out. Enough said. Pizza is pizza to them. It's OK, but not great. Update They now have their act together and last night we had a very good stromboli, pepperoni pizza, and spaghetti served with a breadstick the size of a small loaf of bread toasted so good... Nice to have this place back on my list and so close to the college. Try it out, you will not be disappointed.
They are the BEST in all Florida (literally) My husband and I come here very often and we never get tired of the food! It’s always fresh and the flavor OMG, outta this world! They are also all so sweet!
Pizza and pasta was great and reasonable pricing
My husband is from NY, and stated this is the best pizza he has had in a long time. He was highly impressed.
Absolutely some of the best pizza I've ever had. The staff is always kind and courteous. Their meatball sub is amazing, too! I also love their garlic knot . Definitely worth checking out. You won't be disappointed if you like New York style pizza.
Pizza very good, comparable with NYC Pizza!!💖
Very simple Italian shop but done well once again by the family owners. I frequent this location due to the proximity to home but I have visited other relocations as well, most notably the most popular downtown location. Great pizza, pasta, salads, you name it, it's fantastic. Reasonably priced and the staff are always incredibly vibrant and helpful.
Fantastic customer service and food! They were getting ready to close and as a pizza expert (lived in upstate New York) wanted a fresh pie. They went above and beyond and made a fresh one just for me! Highly Recommend!
Great Food. Friendly staff. Always very clean. Usually, order a whole pizza - grandma, round, or Sicilian - and one or two main dishes and/or salad or additional side (usually meatballs). Food always fresh and quality ingredients.
First of all its in a really good location. There's one downtown but for those wanting something less busy, this is a good spot to be. The decoration is nice inside as well. They have a ton of pizza options and also pasta, stromboli, desserts, and more. I ordered the garlic tomato bacon pizza with 2 friends and it was the best pizza we have had in ages! You can tell by the juicy tomatoes and stringy cheese that it's fresh. Food came quickly, staff is friendly and patient. A large pizza was plenty for 3 college kids and we had some leftover too. With 3 drinks it was about $24 and totally worth it. I have zero complaints. If you're passing through town or live nearby, please check it out! 11/10
Tried different Palace Pizza locations, no comparison to this one in Highland City. Excellent food and service.
We order take out here often and we also order the pizza for for family gatherings. The team is always friendly and quick. Food is yummy. They always are willing to make my calzone or Stromboli without cheese which I appreciate. 😃
Pizza was great and reasonable pricing!
The food is so good here. Will still give 5 stars but I find the staff to be hit or miss. Owners are very nice and definitely our favorite place in Lakeland for pizza. We missed you guys on vacation!!
Very happy our dinner from Palace Pizza. We ordered garlic knots, a large Pepperoni Calzoni and a large Garlic, Tomato and Bacon with red sauce. The portion sizes are great! The flavor was delicious! Will definitely be returning and recommending!
Great place for Italian food with quite a lot of different pizza and pasta, and salad offerings. My family and I have eaten many of their menu items and havent found one that we wouldn't eat or recommend to others. Their service is great and the people are friendly. The one time, in all the years we've been going there, that we had an issue, they went above and beyond to fix it. Better food and service than you'll get from those other chain restaurants.
My favorite local pizza joint. There is a great variety of unique pizza pies. The prices are reasonable and the food is fantastic. There are also other options outside of pizza that are also very good. The garlic knots are one of my favorite things to order aside from their pizza.
Friendly staff with great customer service! The pizza is the best I've had since living in Brooklyn, NY. My favorite it the mozzarella cheese they use. Marco, the owner, goes out of his way to be sure that they get 100% mozzarella cheese with no fillers. This cheese does not burn on top like the chain pizza joints and does not tare like paper which is proof that it is just whole mozzarella cheese.
One of the best pizzas in town and there aren't many. We make it a family affair every time we want great pizza.
great atmosphere, and the best garlic knots i’ve ever had. i definitely recommend ordering a grandmas pizza. full of so much flavor
Outstanding pizza, but I find the last ¾" edge of crust is too tough and flavorless. Otherwise quite delicious. Staff is very friendly, but you place your own order and fill your own drinks. They only bring your food to your table, hence the 4-stars. Atmosphere is ok. I'm often very tired when I stop somewhere to eat and I appreciate the comfort of upholstered booths. It's mostly tables and hard chairs.
This place is great. Pretty friendly staff, good priced items, and great portions. Food itself was amazing, seasoning was on-point, and everything was fresh and quickly delivered to my table shortly after ordering. I'm also not sure if the white-haired Italian gentleman I spoke with was the store manager or the head cook of the restaurant, but he made sure everything was to my liking while I was there. Big shout-out to him and the rest of the staff. Would recommend this place to anyone in a heartbeat.
We love ordering from here. This last time we ordered the “large” combo Stromboli and they are not kidding when they say large! We also got the loaded fries, an order of meat balls and an order of sausage… Oh my goodness it was all delicious! Next time will take some pictures, we just attacked and totally forgot to take some pics. Great job over there y’all! So good!!!
The pizza was really good and the sauce tasted super fresh. The people working there were very polite. I would highly recommend their breadsticks. It's a fluffy bread with the flavor and toppings of a garlic knot.
I would like to take a moment and thank the young lady who made a mistake and FIXED IT! Something we ordered in the restaurant for take-out was missing. We called about it and the young woman who made the mistake owned up to it AND Made it right! Thank you for taking such great care of your customers! Can't wait to eat there again!
Food is phenomenal. The owner Tony Russo has been amazing every time I come in!
The garlic knots alone are worth the 45 minute drive. Very good pizza, enjoyed the NY style taste and form. But dont forget to get the garlic knots!
Friendly owner and staff. Pizza was very good! Definitely worth a visit whenever in the area!
I love the pizza the dough is made with care and cooked perfectly and the toppings are very generous, the service is great the employees always thank us and say have a great day or night and never forget to say it.
It was a Friday night, the kind where the week's stress clung to me like a damp towel. I was too tired to cook, and the thought of another mundane takeout option felt utterly deflating. Then, a friend mentioned Palace Pizza. "You have to try their meatballs," she'd insisted, her eyes practically sparkling. Skeptical but desperate, I placed an order, adding a stromboli on a whim. When the delivery arrived, the aroma alone was enough to lift my spirits. The stromboli was a golden-brown masterpiece, its crust hinting at the cheesy, savory goodness within. But then I opened the container of meatballs. Oh. My. Goodness. These weren't your average, run-of-the-mill spheres of ground meat swimming in a bland sauce. These were plump, juicy orbs, each one bursting with a rich, herby flavor that spoke of care and quality. The sauce, a vibrant, tangy tomato concoction, clung lovingly to each meatball, a testament to its slow simmer. Each bite of the stromboli was a delightful explosion of melted cheese, savory meats, and perfectly seasoned dough. But those meatballs? They were the stars of the show. They were so good, in fact, that I found myself savoring each one, making little contented noises that surprised even me. By the time I finished, that Friday night gloom had completely vanished, replaced by a warm, happy contentment. Palace Pizza didn't just deliver food; they delivered a little slice of culinary heaven. Trust me, you need to experience their exquisite meatballs and incredible stromboli for yourself. You won't regret it.
We had the rustica pizza the extra large and two diet cokes hahaha . Business was slow or it looked to be we walked in and ordered our dinner ( no protection warn by employees at all ? ) Just nothing as any protection against coronavirus! But let's get back to the pizza absolutely amazing best pizza o have had in a long time
Good Italian food. I ordered the seafood pasta with clams, mussels, shrimp, calamari, and baby octopuseseses. It's a bit of work digging the meat from the shells, but worth it. (If you want to just shovel clams into your mouth, go to Howard Johnsons for the fried clams... but I digress.) Ordered Tiramisu for dessert. It came with 4 spoons and was *large*. Pleasantly surprised that it only cost $4.95. I plan to return.
Good food, okay atmosphere. Not many pre-made pizza options available but the pasta is great! If you're expecting the same thing as the downtown location, you will be disappointed- but overall it's a good place to grab a slice or sit down for some pasta and salad.
My husband and I here very often. As New Yorkers, we are pizza snobs. We found Palace Pizza soon after we moved to Florida. The pizza is yummy and they have several options. They also make a specialty pizza called, Mama's Pizza. You have to give it a try. My hubby loves their soups. His favorite is Wedding Soup. We often share one of their salads and dinners. We like the veal or chicken parm. The reason I give them 4 stars is because the place can use a good scrubbing and the meals, although ALWAYS excellent, are not consistent in the way the ingredients are used. Give it a try!
I don't always go below 5 stars, but when I do its not because I didn't still really like the food. This pizza is great. I love the sauce because I can taste fresh basil in there. The cheese they use isn't super greasey and has great flavor and they use a decent pepperoni. The crust has great flavor to it but this is where my missing star went. I like crispy pizza that has no "flop" to it. This pizza is not that. It flops. Quite a bit. That being said everything else about it makes up for that. If you don't trust my judgment I say go there and use your own
Fast food service and picked up right on time. Garlic knots and wings were cooked great, only complaint if we have one is that the pizzas weren’t cut, like they had been but not very well so we had to cut each slice. Aside from that great experience, give this local south Lakeland pizza parlor a try :)
I’m going to address 4 things, food, service, atmosphere, and cleanliness. (1) Food: Great food, came out within ~13 minutes. We ordered a X-Large pizza and 3 fountain drinks. The total was around $15 total and that was for 3️⃣ people!! (2) Service: Amazing service, we walked in and someone was ready to take our order. (3) Atmosphere: There was 1 of 2 TVs playing. GMFB was on if you’re a sports person, I highly recommend this atmosphere. (4) Cleanliness: The tables, clean. The faucets, clean. The men’s bathroom, 70% dirty. The urinal was disgusting shown below ⬇️. I highly recommend this pizza place!
Palace pizza has a few spots around Polk County, the Highland City location is just as quality as the rest. The pizza is waiting ready and heated up by slice when you come in. The dough is excellent and the toppings are quality. The price is very good value for 2025 you can get a good filling meal for ~$10
My pizza was very soggy. So disappointed :( Was dripping with oil. I expect great pizza for the prices they charge
Pizza is as close to NY as is possible in Florida. Service was good, but had Fox News on TV.
The penne Alfredo sauce was good and so was the manicotti. My gnocchi was ok, but I wish I had gotten manicotti. The cheese was hot and it was delicious (I had a bite of my daughter’s order). They ran out of garlic knots which was sad. That was part of the reason we were coming. We ended up with 3 out of 5 breadsticks we should have gotten with our orders, but they had run out of garlic knots and breadsticks. I feel like they could have substituted something else, but they were done and wanted to be off for the holidays already. There was a family who came in after us and apparently they were told they could sit and eat at first, but then they were told that they needed to go/could not stay to eat. Overall, the food was pretty good. The Parmesan cheese ran out and we were able to grab some from the fridge on the side by the door without having to wait for someone to get it which was good because after they drop food off, they don’t come back since it’s a pay and then sit down to eat vs. servers. If we were relaxing and trying to enjoy our meal, I don’t think the ambiance was right for that. The people were cleaning up and getting ready to check out for the night and they were closed the next day so I would say they didn’t need to be open if they wanted to leave and were going to make sure the customers felt like they were a burden. The food was probably 3.5 stars, but I gave them a 3 since it wasn’t super welcoming.
I’ve been going the highland city town center location for years. Loved everything I’ve ordered throughout their menu. I don’t know what’s going on but this will be the third time I have received a gooey, wet, underdone pizza within the last couple of months. Same with the salad. Soggy and wet. They are supposed to take orders until 8:30, but I’ve called long before that and it will ring and ring until someone picks it up and doesn’t say a thing just sets it on the counter while you listen to activity, never even having the decency to acknowledge you. You call back, same thing.I know it gets busy but that’s rude and ridiculous. If your business is overwhelmed and you’re unable to keep up at least say so. I’ll go elsewhere. Sad. So many decent establishments going bad. I hope they take this as constructive criticism and correct the issues I and other patrons are complaining about. Trying to finish it off off possible in oven where as you can see the liquid is dripping through the holes. 😩
Before we went there, we looked at their website online for this particular location. When we got there I asked for the plate I saw that has bruschetta, green olives, roasted peppers, fresh mozzarella and balsamic glaze. The staff had no idea what I was talking about and said it must’ve been another location. The girl at the register suggested the sub/fountain drink combo, even though I initially only wanted water with lemon. I also ordered the bruschetta to share. I filled my drink and proceeded to the table, noting how very uncomfortably hot it was in there! Once seated, I looked at my receipt to see why it was so much since she didn’t tell me the price of the special. They up charged me.75 for lettuce, .75 for onion, .75 for tomato and .50 for Mayo. I went to the counter and canceled the sub. I ordered a slice of pizza and asked for a garlic knot, which I was told I could not get just one. Who can eat 3 of them? When the pizza came I immediately noticed that they used canned mushrooms and not fresh, very disappointing. When the bruschetta came it was 4 very small pieces with no fresh mozzarella or balsamic glaze. Again very disappointed. My coworker got the mini canolis and because they were sitting in a cooler already filled, they were soft and mushy! Any true Italian knows that you can’t pre fill canolis. Again disappointed! I guess I was expecting this experience to be at least as good as the location on the north side or Bartow. Both of these locations are fabulous!!! So to say that my experience today was disappointing would be an understatement!
Ordered a ham and cheese sub, told the young lady I wanted lettuce tomato and onion. The price for the sub is $9.99, when I paid I noticed it was $13 and change so I looked at my receipt. These freaking people are charging.75 for each item added to a sandwich. I have never in my life seen such a thing. Needless to say I won’t be back. There are way to many other places that have better subs and don’t charge for lettuce, tomatoes or onions!!!!
I didn’t stay for the atmosphere but this was a saaad soggy expensive slice :( I should’ve taken a picture dammit lol I had to legit roll it up like a tequito. Sorry yall
Wasn't too happy with the pizza. The crust was good. I've never eaten there prior to this time. I also ordered loaded fries. For the price, there should have been more cheese. Looked as if the fries were spread out to appear there was a large amount. I'll be back, I always give at least 2 tries.
I have been to a few palace pizzas around Polk county. This was by far the worst. The ceiling is covered in grease, the ac vents have black mold growing on them. The table was sticky. They got rid of the tea an hour before closing. Both the one in Bartow and off south Florida Ave made me feel like they were happy to serve me. This location was the exact opposite. The food was mediocre. The only nice thing was the garlic knots.
Bus pans collecting dishes on top of garbage cans were full for entire length of visit (45 mins); pizza was overheated to the point of being dry, crust burnt around edges. Price point vs. end product = won't be back for a while. Will attempt one more time in the future, hoping things improve. Service was very barely inviting. Interior of restaurant, in disarray.
Ordered 1 large 2 topping and 1 small 1 topping for carry out. Requested the pizzas be cut in squares, they were not. No big deal but still !!. The price was almost $32 for 2 pizzas Come on, this is robbery. The pizzas were good but far from $32 good.
Sadly we won't be back. Went for lunch the other day because my daughter wanted spaghetti. It was close to home so it's where we ended up. I got the Meatball Parm Sub and my wife got a Calzoni. The kids spaghetti was $7.50 for a bowl of spaghetti with plain pizza sauce. No drink or side included. My sub tasted good until I woke up at midnight with stomach cramps and threw it back up. My wife said her calzoni tasted good until the next day when her stomach cramped and hurt all day. Next time we want Italian we will go to an actual itialian restaurant that doesn't baste their food in butter and doesn't make us sick. Not another hole in the wall pizza joint that over charges. I added pics for proof we were there. Food looks and tastes good, but it caused us GI problems after eating it.
I ordered the grandma pizza and was told it's was going to take 50 min because they were busy. After watching many people come in order, eat and go after we had been there waiting for an hour and half they were just putting the pepperoni on the pizza. I asked the owner making our pizza why it was taking so long? He pretty much insulted my intelligence by telling me it was a "special pizza", because it was square. Being a previous owner of a pizza shop or just any ordinary person, you would know, it's just a pizza not rocket science and it shouldn't have taken 1hr 40 min. I think they just forgot about us. We were never offered an apology, our money back, a piece of cake or anything for our bad experience with our $27.00 grandma pizza. Will not be back!
This was the worst chicken piccata I had in my life!!I think because I ordered couple minutes before the restaurant closed, the cook didn't added any love to cook this classic and the most easy to make Italian dish! Was no flavor other then a heavy fridge chicken taste l,no salt, no lemon or even a drop of butter!!!!I don't recommend this dish to anyone!!!!So desapointed,my recommendation to the cook is!!!Add a pinch of love the dishes you make for your restaurant guests.
We placed an order this past weekend. One of the pizzas was made wrong. I called to let them know and requested a refund of half the wrong pizza. I was polite and understanding. The young lady that took my call tried to get one of the owners to take the call, but I was told I would get a call back. Never did. During the pandemic there has been so much talk about supporting small business and that is what we try to do in our family. Our experience has been hit or miss with small businesses. Some care about their customers and some don’t care. This one didn’t care to take the time to make things right. We won’t be back. I hope other people consider this review before going to this establishment.
RUDE owner (I'm guessing, he was older than the rest of the teenage staff) and pizza was just OK. We had never been to Palace Pizza but someone got us a gift card recently so we decided to order from this one since it was the closest one to us. My husband tried to pay with the gift card and the owner made this huge scene about how the gift card was bought at the downtown location and how we couldn't use it at his location. On top of that scene, which could have just been calmly explained, he shows my husband a map of his location and the downtown one pointing to his location and saying something like 'see, we are not downtown'. Like we had any idea, we didn't know they're franchised, but beyond that he just didn't have to be so obscene about it. On top of all that the pizza wasn't anything to write home about, I would rate it just under mediocre. Definitely will NOT be going back, especially to this location, maybe just to try out the gift card at the DOWNTOWN location and hopefully their pizza gets more marks.
This place went downhill fast. Argued that deli ham slices is what lasagna is made of. No meat in the layers of pasta just a couple small pieces of deli ham and cheese on top. Worst lasagna ever made and then told me they are five star. Zero stars absolute trash. I used to order regularly now i take my business else where!
I ordered a small white pizza and a capprez... salad for $30. I could have bought what was in salad while I was in publix. Even the Italian dressing sucked, right off publix shelf. Pizza, not much flavor, about a $6 dollar worth of pizza. Won't be back! Don't waste your money, go to dominos and buy a salad at publix for a total of about $12 and much better!
Called at 810p and restaurant said they are closed. I asked what time they close they said 830p, so I asked if I could place an order since it was well before “closing time” (which is not listed as their closing time on google). Second time this has happened. Poor service. Pizza taste like tap water the next day. Wouldn’t recommend.
Update: the owner just replied to this post and blamed me for my bad experience . .haahaa. that tells you everything you need to know! Im not sure how an order of chicken fingers and caprese salad became some imossible task for the staff at this palace pizza, much less how it took more than 20 minutes when dishes were flying out of the kitchen in 20 seconds or less for everyone else. The attitude of the girl at the counter (who refused to provide her name) had a less than helpful attitude and could careless about her customers (me) experience. I had to ask why my food wasn't coming out when all the other diners in the whole place had food in front of them. What I got from the same girl was "oh its coming it's all kitchen" (whatever that means) . I finally got my food when everyone in my group was getting ready to leave because we had to be back at work. I asked for a box that never came. I had to go get it myself from the front counter. The food itself was the quality of a high school concession stand. Extremely disappointing. The managers/owner were indifferent to our bad experience . So they're as useless as their staff. Moral of the story, go to a different palace pizza or pizza place. This one is the worst.
Was just given the most undercooked pizza I have ever had. When we told the owner something all he said “you want it crispy? Sure…” as if it was cooked right begin with. $40 down the drain. Horrible service on top of that. Sat there for 10 minutes before anybody let us know where and how to order and the table was super sticky and dirty…
Ordered pickup of large Pepperoni Pizza, Greek Salad and Chef Salad. Received undercooked pizza, and two ‘garden’ salads. Basically a head of lettuce with some olives. Shredded mozzarella, onions and tomatoes. Not what I ordered. Complained and was offered 10% off. Was also offered to come pick up some feta cheese. Unacceptable!
I eat at the downtown location all the time and never have complaints. I came to this location and I got two pieces of pizza and they made me sick and they were not that goo. I have had better pizza at the Silver Moon drive-in.
I have been going to palace pizza in downtown Lakeland for years and always enjoyed it. I went to this location at 8:19 on a Saturday night. They would not take my order because I didn’t just want pizza. How can a pizza place close this early on Saturday (8:30) and stay in business??? I am VERY dissatisfied with Palace Pizza and will likely not go to the downtown location any longer as a result.
Editing to add response to owners response: I am not reviewing the wrong location. Highland city palace pizza in the plaza by the publix right next to the dairy queen. This IS the restaurant we order from. I guess the other younger guy isn't the son (we thought he was) but regardless of whether he is the son or not, my review still stands as this IS the correct location. We used to love this place, ordering every week usually multiple times a week and always with large orders. The owner (the dad) is amazing, and we can always tell when he makes our food vs. someone else. However, we have noticed since the owners son took over (we still see the owner (the dad) every now and again but now it seems to mostly be the son who is in and making food - at least around dinnertime anyway) the quality and correctness of the food and our orders has gone downhill drastically. Our receipts are always right (so it isn't the people entering in our order), but the food is wrong. We always get charged for things we ask for but then when we get home after picking it up the order is wrong (example asking for a small pepperoni and large cheese but getting a small cheese and large cheese no pepperoni at all) the last 3 or 4 times we've ordered something has been wrong with our food and when we call about it, the people answering the phone are very nice but the men in the background when asked about it usually seem upset over us calling about THEIR mistake. Sad to say it, because like I said this used to be our go-to, but after multiple incorrect orders (and the irritation we seem to be met with when calling or going back in about the issues - to the point where, this last time we didn't even bother to call or go back) has us looking for other options.
Absolutely terrible food. The heart of a pizzeria is the marinara which this place is obviously not aware of. Horrible, Horrible, HORRIBLE marinara. Imagine opening a can of tomatoes sauce and calling it marinara. They should be so ashamed to have pictures of Italy and regional maps of Sicily on their walls and receipts. Take them down, you are an embarrassment. The staff couldn’t tell me the difference between a Stromboli and a calzone. I ordered a Stromboli and it wasn’t even made correctly, why was I surprised?.What a waste of money and time. If you know what Italian cooking is, save your time and money, save your sanity, just don’t do it, go somewhere else.
The place is great the food is amazing, but some employees destroy other people business. My husband started going there for lunch since he find out the place like a week ago. I ordered him his lunch online which was a pizza and 2 lt of soda, when he went to pick it up his lunch and eat it there the cashier charged him $3 for JUST A CUP!!! + the $5 for the 2lt that I already paid online..... the funny part is there's couple there that after they finished the lunch they took out 2 big Stanley cup, filled them up and the same cashier who charged my husband didn't say anything to them....so let me understand....you charge for a empty cup $3, but you didn't charge for 2 XL Stanley cup full of soda.....I spoke with the manager and he apologized and he said he will take care of it.....but unfortunally that kind of situation change a well deserved 5 star for the great location and food for a 1 star rate just for an employee with lack of common sence. Customer Services and common sence is a key to make sure your customer are back again.
I don’t want to come off as rude or malicious but I feel like it needs to be addressed. The ice machine is covered in black mold and our salad was dirty due to not being washed. Hopefully they take better measures to up keep with this food and place.
Got a carry out stuffed pizza. Sausage tasted rancid. The sauce in the cups was like tomato juice. I ate 2 pieces of it and threw the rest out. I'm sorry, but the worst stuffed pizza I've ever gotten from you guys. I even tried to eat it with some sauce I had at home and it was still bad. The young guys working there were very nice. Just what I got wasn't as good as what I've gotten before. Was very disappointed.
Today, a coworker picked up a call-ahead lunch order and encountered an unexpected “dairy fee” for items like pizza, calzone, and stromboli. When questioned, the employee explained it was “because of Covid.” Let’s be clear: Covid is no longer a valid excuse. If your costs have increased, simply adjust your menu prices rather than adding hidden fees. To make matters worse, another coworker mentioned she ordered delivery last night and was charged an unexplained “eat local fee.” We understand the costs of doing business and are willing to pay fair prices. The issue lies in the lack of transparency. These additional fees aren’t disclosed on the menu, leaving customers to discover them at checkout. While you may justify these charges internally, as a consumer, I can’t support being nickeled and dimed without upfront disclosure. This practice feels deceptive and doesn’t reflect well on your business. Transparency and honesty go a long way in earning customer loyalty.
got a chicken philly that was supposed to come with peppers and spinach and got a sandwich with just chicken and cheese. driest sandwich ever. when i called to ask why my sandwich didnt have ANY of the topping i was told its because thats what we asked for. they asked if he wanted mushrooms and onions on it and he said no? then gave me a plain sandwich. called to try and figure it out and was offered a credit for peppers and spinach. Things are too expensive now to be paying for something that isnt right. i wont be going back lol peppers and spinach are completely different from onions and mushrooms.
don’t know what half pepperoni half cheese means. they serve slop and don’t care. oily and bad. the employees there have always been arrogant and don’t care about their jobs. maybe management needs to take a look at who they hired because these employees DONT CARE what they serve. if someone orders a half and half pizza that means half and half, not throw pepperonis on a pizza and see where they land. these employees will be the downfall of this place. sad. and this is not the first time we have ordered a half and half pizza and it doesn’t come out half and half. irritating.
We have been coming to this location since the day they opened, unfortunately the food quality has gone down hill. Pizza was extremely salty and was not all the way cooked. Very greasy. The people are extremely rude.
I have always loved Palace Pizza regardless of the location ... This location at Highland City though, I will give 1 star ... Not because of food quality, but because of the owner/manager ... He is the rudest and nastiest person and has no business in being in any sort of management role .. if you have a problem with your order, make sure you don't come across him because he doesn't care if you do .. he will argue with you loudly in front of customers .. I'll take my business elsewhere
We’ve been loyal customers here for over 7 years, often driving 20+ minutes across town because we used to love the food. Unfortunately, the service and accuracy have declined noticeably. On our most recent visit, we ordered a Sicilian Grandma pie for pickup. We specified at least four times over the phone, clarifying that we wanted the square, thick-crust version. What we received was a thin Grandma pie. This isn’t the first time in recent months that our order has been wrong, despite being very clear. While they did offer to remake the pizza, it would have been a 30-minute wait, and we still ended up paying full price for something we didn’t order. After repeated mistakes and a lack of care, it’s hard to justify continuing to come here. I can no longer recommend this place. The quality of service just isn’t what it used to be, and it’s disappointing after so many years of loyalty.
Bad atmosphere, arrogant employees. Try smiling and greeting your customers with a warm welcome when they come through the door. Love the pizza and always will but dang, I remember walking in and everyone was upbeat. I don’t know what has happened in the last couple years.
Ordered a pizza last night and told them I would arrive about 9 pm to get it. Arrived and the business was closed. Both Pizza Palace and Slice their third party online ordering company refuse to issue a refund saying each other are responsible for authorization of a refund. I'm reporting both companies to the Better Business Bureau and the State Attorney General s Office for fraudulent business practices. They took my order, my money and said my arrival time was fine, yet went ahead and closed anyway. I know many seem to think their words don't matter. But when a business verbally says they are going to do something and take money, it is considered a verbal contract. I own a small business and would never treat my customers this way or commit fraud like this. I know what time I got there and I also know I called you ahead of time and the phone person said I had time to make it. The fact that Slice is taking orders so close to your closing time should also be a concern to you. But regardless, you were not there at 9:05 pm when I arrived, after saying you would be. You were closed. Slice has decided to take their own action on this matter and refund the money. I'm sorry but telling the truth is not defamation nor is threatening your customers because of their bad experience with your business "good customer" service.
Can't really comment on the atmosphere I didn't dine in. I sent my mother in law to get 4 tiny cannolis and a piece of chocolate cake. These cannolis have been sat out all day the shell was mushy like left out cheese cake quality. It was just awful quality. We called to see if we can make it right and we're told each palace pizza location is different. They did not offer to make it right or any effort to resolve the issue just better luck next time. if you know what good cake and cannolis are suppose be like you shouldn't go here. These have been sat in a fridge for a week. The shell is just slop and soft and mushy we paid 36 dollars for a small piece of cake and 4 cannolia.... Just go to Winn Dixie at least they make them daily to end on a positive note there pizza has always been really good but idk what's going on with there deserts
Visited this, Highland City, Palace Pizza Sat, Jan 14. Ordered Spaghetti with Meatsauce and a side of Garlic Knots... The Spaghetti was quite bland, and worse, had a slight aftertaste of dishwater.. Furthermore, the Garlic knots were all burnt. Quite dry as well, as if they had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. I've been to this location before and it was good. But based on my last order. It seems like things are slipping lately.. Unfortunately.
