Food is good and HOT (Temperature) Don't go to places where they bring your food out lukewarm or cold.
Muy sabroso el original sabor mexicano... La única excepción fue la barbacoa que parecía haber estado congelada por mucho tiempo...Sorry

Casual place for authentic Tex-mex. Food was great! Would eat here again:)
Delicious! Prices reasonable! Great value! Family restaurant vibe. Lots of choices in Hillsboro, but I would go back.
We love this place. Highly recommend the fajita plate and pupusas! Delish
Very good food and friendly service. Would recommend

Delicious food, always great service, one of the best places in town.
Dinner with a friend. It was quiet, excellent food. I will go back.
They moved from whitney to Hillsboro. However their food is still amazing.
I have always loved their family, and their food is amazing.
Love the new bar and seating area! Great addition to the community
Best place to eat Mexican food in Hillsboro
Very good food, service and prices.
We always have great food and family-like treatment! All our special occasions are celebrated here.
What an amazing surprise this lil' restaurant was. The food was great all around... chips freshly made, and the salsa(s) were on point. Totally recommend.
This is one of the best Mexican restaurants in this area. I have eaten there several times including the Whitney location when they were open. The servers are always so friendly it's just like family. The food is awesome you cannot expect anything better from a tex mex restaurant. I am giving them five stars for always being so welcoming when I come in.
Maria and her family make this a wonderful place to visit, the food is always good, and the queso is fantastic, wonderful, excellent, top-notch (can't say enough positive adjectives), sometimes we go just for 16 oz. to go 😋.
Quaint restaurant. Friendly staff. Food is well prepared. Fajitas are well cooked, flavorful, juicy. Go enjoy them. You won’t be disappointed!
Had lunch there the other day with my wife. The food we had was very good. Server was friendly and attentive. Prices were also reasonable. We'll be back.
The food is great. A family meal will feed three of us with plenty for tomorrow's lunch. The woman I spoke to on the phone was very polite. They wasted no time making the food not that I'm picky about waiting time. Good food is made when a person is passionate about their skills in making the best effort to make the customer's experience pleasant.
Not just our favorite Tex-Mex - but our FAVORITE restaurant in Hillsboro. My bride and I have a date night almost every week here. They have been known to offer hugs, as well as some fresh, delicious dishes. Everything we’ve had is wonderful - including the service and atmosphere. Especially when they have the occasional live music or karaoke. The people who rate this place low must have had a bad day beforehand, taking it out on the staff. Toopid, as my then 4-year old daughter would say. I’ll have the #9. Or the fajitas, please.
Love the food here. One of my favorites. It's great that they now have a bar and serve alcohol. You can get orders through door dash and Uber eats.
If you're on a budget, and you want something great for lunch or dinner, Diaz has it. They have more expensive dishes, but they have quite a few more pocket-book friendly options that don't skimp on the quality. Some of them are as cheap as $7 before drink and tip. I suggest you take a look, see what you think for yourself. I've eaten there with family and friends since they opened and none of us have been disappointed.
This is was our 2nd time here and the food was outstanding, the price is very reasonable, and the margaritas are pretty dang good! The photos are after we already started eating but I had to get some photos for a review after we tasted it! Thanks for the awesome food and service!
Not fancy from the outside, but this family owned cafe puts out excellent food! I had a chile relleno plate. Delicious! I could choose from several fillings - including vegetables or fajita. I picked ground beef, my favorite. Served with charro or refried beans, rice, pico, guacamole, & choice of tortillas. You start with green & red salsa served with fresh chips. Generous servings at a reasonable price. Lots of menu choices, too. Margaritas looked really good, but I didn't taste them this trip. Lots of choice at the bar, also. Try them!!
If anybody is ever traveling through Hillsboro this is the spot. Pupusas are amazing service was top notch and live music on Friday. What, What! Do not pass this place up!
We had the #11 and there was so much food!! The green sauce is so good! We will be going back!
This place is a funky little restaurant taking advantage of the upcoming eclipse event. Good music and good food. Friendly service.
Delicious food and friendly, welcoming folks. Enjoyed chicken fajitas for two, while listening to some live music.

We just love the fresh, tasty food! The staff are wonderful and so sweet! Authentic all the way around and very much worth every penny!!!
Always come here everybody's really friendly really nice today he was short-handed but yet he still did his job
Enjoyed a late dinner there with my girlfriend. We were both extremely pleased with everything from the chips and salsa to the entrees and sweet tea. Our server was also nice and friendly and checked on us often. It may be labeled as TexMex but is our favorite Mexican food place in Hillsboro. Yes we will be back until they give us a reason not to.
Never had a bad meal or bad service here. I eat here every chance I get.

Good tasty 😋 food. Good service
Food was really good
They have the cutest decor...
Fast and friendly service
Got my food to go. Street tacos were really good. Ki d of a simple place but the food was good.
Food is good. It's just hot in there. Staff is great
Great food, drinks, and owners are nice.
We sampled several different items, food was very good. Ordered online. Couple items ordered were incorrect, but still worth revisiting. Great charro beans, fried shrimp, and enchiladas.
Our server was nice and checked on us often. The food was good and the portion size was reasonable for the price. I would have given 5 stars but they were out of a few things I wanted to order and the time it took to get our order was a little too long. I would go back again.
Stopped in on our way back from Waco. Food was ok and service was great. I would try it again and maybe try something else.

Delicious chimichana with beef fajita! Wonderful chili relleño with shrimp! Delicious rice, beans, margaritas! Guacamole would be better without all the add-ins. The best service!!! Now the sad part: please clean the front door, please clean the floors that stick to our shoes; please level the wobbly tables; please clean the restrooms. Done!
Food was good, if a little overdone. The place wasn't busy, so the service was okay. We had adult beverages which why the cost was a bit high. Overall, not bad. I'd go again.
I was pleasantly surprised. Everything was delicious. Fresh. Great portions. Great flavor. The beans and rice were great unto themselves. So much better than we expected. The family is so sweet. The place is clean and fresh feeling. We live in Dallas and may come back down just for the food.

Good TexMex . Eat there often. We
Was ok just ok
Decent place.
Service was slow, friendly and the food was good.
The food was decent but it wasn't worth what they charged. The queso was gross. The waitress didn't check in with us once after we got our food. She didn't tell us that we needed to go to the counter to pay so we sat there for several minutes waiting for the ticket. Very dissatisfied.
The menu is WAY too big. The mismatched decor can be overlooked. Service is great and nearly everything on the menu is good. One of the best salsas in town though. If they downscaled their menu, I believe, they would be more successful.
I only gave a 3 because they were out of steak. The salsa is one of a kind and delicious! The charro beans are delicious too. The food was good and will be back.

Food was okay but will not be back as customer service was not.
Food was very bland needs more flavor enchiladas we're decent
My mom and I were one of two couples on our visit at lunchtime. The waitress came to our table only once during our meal and we ended up having to ask her twice for the same item. When ordering, my mom requested no bell peppers with her beef fajitas and I got the chicken fajitas. The chicken tasted like the pre-prepared fajita chicken from a grocery store. Neither of the meats had any flavor at all just like the rice. The refried beans were absolutely amazing and might go back just for an order of them. When I asked why I didn't get bell peppers I was told that they don't serve them with the lunch fajitas. Our waitress and two other employees just sat and chatted at the table closest to the kitchen. All in all, we most likely won't go back unless it's for a Togo order of refried beans.
Ordered the Diaz nachos and was highly disappointed. The nachos were so soggy and the beans were basically soup. No flavor at all. Meat was tough. Asked for a to-go cup of tea and she forgot all about it. Floors were so sticky, and no one was there at lunch rush. Won’t go back.
So today I had the Enchiladas Trio with the refried beans. My husband had Chicken Flautas with the Charro beans. There was no flavor in anything. The Enchilada Trio had so much cheese on everything that it drowned any of the red sauce. Now the beans were good along with the flour tortillas. My Margarita was supposed to have been a top shelf with an additional three dollar charge for the Corraiejo Tequila you could not taste any of the Tequila. Overall not impressed with the restaurant.
Visited without having read any of the reviews. Now that I’ve read through quite a few, it seems that my experience was one that many others have shared: - Rice has zero taste. None. It has the right color for Mexican rice, but no taste. I’m not even sure how that possible. - The menu is HUGE. Easily over 100 items. It’s too big. - Fajitas, chicken and beef, didn’t taste seasoned at all. - Tacos Al carbon, beef, didn’t taste seasoned at all. - Charro beans tasted good, good broth, beans soft. - Tortillas. At a minimum, the corn tortillas are store-bought, not homemade. Maybe the flour too, but you can tell the corn aren’t made there. Overall, the food wasn’t good, left it half-eaten. It comes out came out fast, though. If you just want something in your stomach quickly, come here. If you want to enjoy the taste before it gets to your belly, go elsewhere.
I really wanted to like this new restaurant. Our server was great but the food was underwhelming. Vegetarian enchiladas seemed to be a bag of frozen vegetables. Carnitas enchiladas seemed to be just soft, stewed pork. The meat was good but I'm used to pork being fried. Neither of us finished our meal. Suggestion: your menu has too many items, so you might want to cut it down to one page and concentrate on doing those items better.
Our server was a nice lady. She was quick about getting our drinks and chips (freshly made) out to us. However, based on the picture from reviews versus what we got, they’ve really cut the quality. Maybe they’re trying to save money. But the fajita portion for lunch was not as pictured. The beef was overly tough and over cooked on some pieces. The salsa was watery and lacking flavor. The beans were plopped over the fajita onions and you had to dig them out. The rice tasted like 90second Uncle Ben’s rice. The tortillas were the only thing really enjoyable. Once our food was brought out though, we were quickly forgotten and no drink refills were provided. I hope they get back to the quality shown by others. However, we won’t be back.

Food wasn’t great, wasn’t horrible. Service was good. But $25 for some chicken quesadillas and a sweet tea really caught me off guard.
Be careful what you order. Thought I was getting crispy taco on the combo, but it was a taco cup with 1 teaspoon of cheese sauce. When ask, she never offered a substitute. What you see is what you get. I will save my money won't go there again.

Average at best.
Claims to be Tex-mex but being from San Antonio texas, Tex-mex is the meaning of great tacos with HOMEMADE tortillas. Also Tex-mex is offering bean and cheese, potato and egg and simple morning tacos like that. The fajita taco was awful. It was basically a street taco. And it was super expensive for one taco. Would not recommend.
Chicken enchiladas tasted like canned chicken. Beans were ok, but rice was no where near good. Unfortunately we will not be back.
Service was bad, food tasted all right.
Food is good, but terrible service. Hire more people.
Went in with my family a total of 10. We had high hopes for this place because we had wanted to try it since they opened. We were the only ones in there. The service was horrible. Had to ask for refills as eveyone just stood around. The food had no taste. We ordered queso actually 4 bowls along with our meals. I have never been charged almost $15 for each bowl of queso. Nothing in it just cheese. The bowls of queso were more than most of the meals. Sadly I can't recommend this place to anyone.
Service was horrible!!! Server took order delivered it and never came back. Didn't get refills, and food was lacking flavor!!! Salt goes a long way if you add it. 3:30 pm Only 1 other table in here so they were not busy by all means. Do yourself a favor and go to the restaurant across the street. I've never been there but it can't be this bad!!!
Terrible service. Walked in 5 of us total. 6pm on a Friday night about 3 tables of people eating. A lady that works there was just staring at us like she wanted us to leave. Another guy walked out of back. The 2 stood there talking to each another obviously about us. No sign saying to seat yourself so we stood there. So we finally just left....... slowly in case someone said something. And the lady just watched us still not saying anything. Stay away unless you want to be stared at and leave hungry. Went next door to El Zarape. Sat us right down and food was delicious
The Mexican rice sucked . It was par boiled yuck. And a little to pricey.
Placed my order online through door dash and went to go pick it up in person and I am a person of color so I am going to assume that is why the staff was very rude to me but I was very kind To both of them. Very unfortunate not sure how the food taste yet I am writing this review before tasting the food because I am distraught about how I was treated simply picking the food Up.
