Coastal Capri Ristorante

The food was amazing! We had the soft shell crab special and the crab and shrimp capellini in a garlic wine sauce. Everything was so fresh and delicious! The atmosphere was both friendly and sophisticated. Even the dish ware was beautiful. And definitely try Flora’s key lime pie! All of the desserts are made by Flora. Everyone was so fun and welcoming! We really had such a special night. Don’t miss it! This is a really impressive family owned restaurant. Make sure to make a reservation!

Had a wonderful dinner at Coastal Capri Ristorante for my friend's birthday! The service was excellent and the food was delicious! We had Arancini, Clams al forno, Vitello (Veal) Parmigiana, Spaghetti Carbonara, and a cannoli for dessert. We could not eat it all and took the rest home. We are lucky to have Chef Johnny Rovito bringing his Southern Italian cooking to HHI!!

This is one of the most amazing Italian restaurants on Hilton Head Island… the sauces and flavors are amazing.

We went here during our vacation at Hilton Head, SC. I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere of this restaurant was suitable for intimate and family dining. The environment was comfortable and not overcrowded. My family thoroughly enjoyed their meals. I went with a seafood pasta. My son linguini with a meat sauce. My wife had the lobster ravioli. We ordered dessert to take back to our condo. The meal was wonderful. It reminded me of a family trip that we had at Mama Leone's in New York City back in the 80s. The finest Italian restaurant that I have had the privilege of dining.

Flora’s is a gem with amazing food and service. As a Chicago native, Italian food is our favorite ❤️ and Flora’s delivered. Turns out the new owners moved here from Chicago, are Italian and their family owns our favorite Italian restaurant back home. What a small world! If you love authentic Italian food with amazing flavor and service, come here. We arrived during peak time on a Saturday evening with no reservation and a cranky toddler and the owner was more than accommodating! Our waitress was WONDERFUL! We were seated, given bread service with butter and a spread. The bread was delicious and warm! We ordered drinks and the pour was generous. Our food arrived quickly and was hot 🙌🏻 I ordered the carbonara, my husband had the Chicken Parmesan. Their marinara sauce was savory and sweet, just like our favorite Italian restaurant in Chicago. Both entrees were delicious and with generous portions. Dessert was delicious and the coffee was fantastic. Nothing like a good cup of coffee ☕️ after a delicious meal. If you are a cannoli fan, order the Martini Cannoli Dip. I wish the new owners the best of luck, especially because they are fellow Chicago natives! We will definitely come back the next time we are in Hilton Head.

The food was delicious. Started with the mushroom soup, which was very tasty. The entry was fish and also included vegetables. The flavors of all the ingredients worked well together. Two thumbs-up to the chef. The wait staff was very attentive and professional. Worth tracking down this wonderful restaurant. I will be back.

I got the linguini shrimp diavolo and my husband got Vitello San Giuseppe. We loved it. The staff, food, and ambience was amazing. We highly recommend. Michelle was our waitress and she was awesome. The entire team was great too.

HIGHLY recommend Flora's. As soon as I walked in the door I felt like family. The entire restaurant has an amazing smell that makes you want to just sit down and eat. It was my birthday dinner and we were a party of 10. Everything, and I mean everything was absolutely fantastic. The food is amazing, every single person at our table finished their entire dish. The wait staff (who is family) was VERY attentive. We also all ordered to-go desserts once we found out 90 percent of the dessert menu is made in house. When we come back to Hilton Head island we will definitely be coming back to Flora's. Thank you so much.

We have been to Coastal Capri several times and it is always a lovely dining experience.The atmosphere and staff are top notch. Chef prepares an excellent menu with interesting specials for everyone. All are delicious! Go and enjoy!

I we came here for my husband’s birthday and it was by far the best meals we have had in years!

My husband and were celebrating our 30th anniversary and we decided to go to coastal capri restaurant. It was by far a great dining experience. The food was truly authentic Italian food. It was like being in Italy. The chef and his wife were amazing, not to mention our server Alisa was incredible!! It was like eating at nonnas home.Please, don't leave hilton head without trying this amazing restaurant. We plan to visit it again this restaurant before leaving to go back home.

Love this restaurant. If you like Italian food you need to eat here. Arancini is amazing. Arugula salad fresh and light. Ravioli so delicious. Lasagna amazing! Wish I had room for dessert.

Outstanding Experience for a Milestone Celebration! We recently celebrated my mom’s **95th birthday** at this incredible restaurant, and I can’t say enough good things about the experience! From start to finish, everything was absolutely perfect. Michelle, the manager, was an absolute pleasure to work with. Her communication was prompt, professional, and kind—she made planning a special event for 23 people feel completely seamless. Her attention to detail and genuine care really stood out. Our waiter, Mike, was truly outstanding. He was attentive without being intrusive, anticipated every need, and helped make the evening feel extra special. It’s rare to find service this good! And then there’s the food—WOW! The owner, who is also the chef, is a true culinary artist. Every dish was superb, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The ambience of the restaurant was warm, elegant, and festive—just perfect for such a meaningful celebration. We’re so grateful to the entire team for helping us create unforgettable memories. Highly, highly recommend for any special occasion—or anytime you want to enjoy a truly great meal!

Other than the noise level (which they are working on), this restaurant was terrific in every way. Service was excellent, atmosphere was great and the food was incredible. Love it, love it, love it! A great addition to our restaurant scene.

This is a very nice restaurant. The meals were obviously prepared by a chef who knows what he's doing. The meals were very good and the portions plentiful. The bread was also excellent. Our waiter was helpful and very attentive. It's a place we wouldn't hesitate to go back to.

We have my wife and I been searching for the last 4 years to find an Italian restaurant that we can call our favorite. Being from CT NY area it’s been a challenge, that is up to tonight, the search has ended very successfully!! Coastal Capri is now our favorite Italian restaurant. One night stands out above the rest: it was late, after closing, and they didn’t just wait for us at the door — they had set aside a slice of hot chocolate cake for my wife, knowing how much she loves it. That level of care and thoughtfulness is something you don’t find every day. It meant so much to us. On our second visit, the eggplant parm and chicken parm were both phenomenal — and don’t even get me started on the bread… warm, fresh, and honestly, to die for. Every meal since then has been consistently excellent. We’ve become regulars now, not just because of the incredible food, but because Michelle and Johnny make every visit feel personal, welcoming, and unforgettable. Capri is a newer spot in the island and you don’t want to miss it. From the minute you arrive and are welcomed by Michelle, the service throughout the evening was great. Chef has prepared an excellent menu, lots of variety and authentic Italian. This is definitely someplace you could eat at every week.

This place is amazing. The service is out of this world. The food is some of the best Italian food i have had. We ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, penne rigatoni and the pollo limon. It was so good. We had no leftovers. I watched them make the banana foster and it was incredible. I highly recommend.

It was incredible!! Best Italian restaurant in Hilton Head. Each meal was real Italian expertly cooked. Veal was Perfect. Mussels very soft & firm not fishy. Our waitress was very attentive and personable. Great evening celebrating our daughter’s birthday.

We stopped in last after the Lantern Parade and figured without a reservation, we wouldn't be able to get a table, but we thought we would try. The Hostess was very nice and was able to fit us in! We had visited before several years ago, but hadn't been back in awhile. The waiter informed that new owners took over in July and he guided us through the menu. We ordered and the food came out very quickly. We were shocked by the portion size as it's easily two meals per entree (who doesn't love leftovers?!). The atmosphere was very elegant and most folks dressed nice, but we didn't feel too out of place in jeans we wore to the parade. We'll definitely be back and we now count this as a true "HHI Hidden Gem"!

Delicious Italian food. Excellent fresh seafood Piatti di Mare and Linguini Calamari platters. Better than the seafood restaurants. Pollo Vesuvio just like Nonna made, Gnocchi with a delicious tomato butter parmigiano reggiano sauce. Lava cake and a large cannoli. We all left very happy and will be back. Nice staff, nice location and interior with a separate bar.

Our new favorite restaurant! Excellent dining experience. We started with the arancini rice balls which were excellent. The best I’ve had. The rigatoni arrabiata was spicy and delicious. From start to finish the meal was one of the best we had on the island. Marcus our waiter and the hostess were friendly and welcoming. We can’t wait to go back.

First time visit tonight. Had appetizers of meatballs and caprasi salad. Both were very good. For dinner, I had the veal parmagianio and my wife had the linguine and clams. Both were excellent! Could not finish the veal (lunch tomorrow)! Shannon was a wonderful server; attentive and friendly. We will definitely go back when we are back on the island. (Hint: Lasagna is highly rated on reviews. But, it is only available every other weekend. Reserve accordingly)!

I have nothing but positive remarks for Coastal Capri. First, after a mistake booking my reservation through Open Table, the hostess was kind enough to call me to accommodate us. During our drive to the island we encountered an accident that delayed us over the 15 minute grace period. We called again and were told that our table would be there no matter what time. It was great to meet the friendly faces that belonged to the voice on the phone. I simply loved our server Stacy. We laughed and joked with her all evening, listened to her recommendations and overstayed our welcome I'm sure. She could not have been more pleasant nor more attentive on a very busy night. I wish every establishment had someone so enjoyable!!!! The food is fantastic. Thanks to Chef for coming to our table to speak with us. First, dishes fly out of the kitchen. Thankfully they space everything so that you are not rushed. Salads were chilled and generous. The Caesar was very flavorful and fresh. The Caprese is enough to share for the table. I cannot recommend the mussels diavlo enough. The mussels were cleaned properly....which is a big thing! The sauce was pleasantly spicey and the pasta cooked perfectly al dente. The most amazing thing was that not only was the dish piping hot....it stayed that way from the first bite to the last. I have never had that experience before. You can't go wrong with Coastal Capri! Ten out of ten from the front of house to the kitchen!

Delicious dinner, beginning with Calamari Fritti, followed by Papardelle Bolognese and Veal San Guiseppe, supplemented by a glass of Chianti Classico. Nice quiet atmosphere with excellent service from Alina. Would strongly recommend for special occasions or just a pleassnt night out.

Coastal Capri is one of the best kept secrets on the island. The food is always excellent. The menu is great, the staff and owners are very friendly. You won’t be disappointed.

Best meal we had on vacation! My family and I dined here on our annual family vacation to the island and I must say the dining experience was exquisite! Marcus was our server and his service was impeccable! We met the owner John and he was super personable as well! The portions are plentiful and the sauces were to die for! Food was all fresh and so tasty! The rigatoni vodka, eggplant parmigiana, chicken parmigiana and my seafood dish were all fresh and absolutely delicious! Even the bread with the sauce they provide on the table is delicious! The service and food are the best! If you live on HH or are visiting, Coastal Capri must be on your restaurant to do list! You won't regret it and you can thank me later!

We recently had a birthday celebration that was made extra special thanks to Michelle and the wonderful team. Michelle went above and beyond to coordinate a custom take-out order of carrot cake for our event — not an easy ask, but she handled it like a pro. Not only was the cake ready right on time, it was phenomenal. Moist, perfectly spiced, and topped with that dreamy frosting that makes you close your eyes and nod in approval with every bite. This wasn’t just dessert; it was a statement piece. Michelle’s attention to detail and extra effort turned what could’ve been an ordinary dinner into a truly memorable celebration. Big thanks to Coastal Capri — you’ve won yourselves some loyal fans (and carrot cake addicts).

We visited this restaurant on August 12th, 2025. Wow, what a great experience! Elina was our server. She was fantastic and very friendly. She anticipated our every need, never an empty glass. The food...oh my! It was excellent.The sauces were so tasty. Our compliments to Chef Johnny Rovito!! Everything was incredible. Definitely an A++!

What a welcome addition to the HHI restaurant scene! Wonderful family-style dining serving excellent traditional Italian cuisine. Service is friendly and professional. Owners are beyond gracious. Recommend the baked clams, shrimp basilica, gnocchi Romano, lasagna (alternate Saturdays), cannoli dip, tiramisu- etc!

went here to celebrate a friend's birthday day. the service and food were good. It was extremely loud and hard to hold a conversation. Some of the tables are close together. My friend loved the banana fosters. was scared of possibly losing an eyebrow:). The pistachio cake was nice and fluffy. We asked the waitress what was good and she said everything. Usually the chef does better at something. The bread on the table was very good. They had dishes you normally don't see carbonara & rigatoni. They also had two different gnocchi dishes.

The bread/tomato/butter appetizer on the table was delicious. The entrees were alright but some missteps that really made it meh. Soggy breading, undercooked parts. Pasta was fairly hard. Desserts were not good at all. Overall, not impressed with the food and wouldn’t go back. Our service was phenomenal, and our server James was amazing. Best part of the night. The ambiance is nice.

Came for dinner with friends. The staff was attentive and helpful. The atmosphere was very very loud making conversation difficult. They should consider some sound baffles. I ordered the escarole soup of the day and it was cooked beyond recognition it was basically mush, without any taste. I also ordered the spare rib ravioli, also a daily special. It was lukewarm and the pasta had the minimal of meat stuffing. Again the sauce and ravioli were very very bland. I was here several years ago and it seems as if things have slid a bit.

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. When I raised concerns about the service, the owner told me the person being rude was his wife and, quote, “if you don’t like it, leave.” I have never encountered such unprofessional behavior from business owners/management. I would strongly caution others against dining here, as there are many other restaurants that treat their guests with respect and appreciation.

I was extremely disappointed with my experience here. While the atmosphere initially seemed promising, the treatment from the owners created an unwelcoming and uncomfortable environment. From the moment we arrived, their demeanor was noticeably cold and dismissive, making it clear that hospitality was not a priority. What should have been a pleasant outing quickly turned into an unpleasant experience due to their rudeness and lack of professionalism. As someone who values good service and a welcoming environment, I was surprised and disheartened to be treated in such a way. There are plenty of establishments that truly appreciate their customers and create an atmosphere where people feel valued… unfortunately, this is not one of them. I cannot recommend this place to anyone seeking a positive and respectful experience.
