Outstanding hotel, especially for dog owners. If you have the choice of adding breakfast, DO IT! We got a $50 breakfast credit daily for only $14. And these breakfasts are first class dishes that you would seek out, not like most hotel restaurants. The crab Benedict was great, but the biscuits and gravy was amazing! I almost never order these out because noodles e can come close to beating my wife's receipe but these did come close. We even got a $20/nightly credit at there fine restaurant. The courtyard is really nice and I imagine the pool would be an excellent way to relax during warmer weather
We chose this hotel through the Bring Fido app! It was highly rated for dog friendly and it was true to its words! From the moment we arrived to the time we left, our pups were treated well! They enjoyed being on the first floor and being able to greet the other pups that were there. We went during Thanksgiving weekend so it was extra busy but you wouldn't have known due to the hotel being so clean and smelling awesome as soon as you stepped inside. It has a beautiful restaurant named Pacci inside! Great food and service! They said you could bring your pups inside but our black lab wouldn't do well with all of the food around her. We ordered food and picked it up. The rooms were very nice and I liked that there wasnt carpet in them and it was easy clean up for the housekeepers! We loved that we got a text during our stay from them and checking to see if we needed anything. The outdoor courtyard was so nice as well! We weren't far from two different potty areas for our pups! The water pressure in the shower was excellent. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash were provided and a great scent to them. The location was on the farthest side of the city which was great because it wasn't crowded and it was only about a minutes walk to the River! The valet service is a must if your traveling with your fur babies. They are very courteous and prompt! Dont forget to do the happy hour from five to six, the wine was delicious! If you are looking for a clean, dog friendly hotel, this is it!
Our new go-to hotel when we’re in Savannah. Why? Because it’s SO dog friendly and classy at the same time. The pool is lovely, open until 10 pm, and the breakfasts are huge and southern-authentic like shrimp and grits or pancakes with roasted bourbon peaches. Our waitress, Shakeria, was excellent, SUPER friendly and welcoming, and a credit to the hotel. And the manageress, Adena, is amazing—really caring and attentive. We love this hotel. For us, it’s a home away from home.
I don’t understand some of the bad reviews. Check in was a luxury experience of its own. Valet is there to greet you and was a nice guy. The furniture decor for the lobby reminded me of a European vibe. Check in process at the front took 2 minutes tops. They have a pretty nice restaurant connected to the hotel and offer room service until 10pm. I don’t believe 24/7 room service is needed at this location due to the size of the city of Savannah. The room came with two Fiji waters and has a luxurious touch to it. The hallways smell good and they offer parking for 49 dollars. They just need more Tesla chargers since EVs are becoming more prevalent. Overall it’s a 4 star hotel with a 5 star experience which it offers. Most of these reviews are ridiculous and are from people who don’t know how to enjoy the little things. Thanks Kimpton for the wonderful experience and having such a great staff all around. The GM is doing a great job and would like to thank them personally!!
From the valet to the front desk assistant to the rest of the staff that was always around and all were super friendly. To get to our room the elevator it was a walk through the beautiful lobby and past the gorgeous courtyard (with lots of great seating options to enjoy your complementary morning coffee). Tbe room was great with a comfortable bed and a beautiful shower. The hot water never ran out and the water pressure was great. The location is fantastic, just a short walk to River Street and a little longer walk to historic Savannah, could not ask for a better location. There is so much good to say about The Kimpton Brice and nothing bad at all. I will be staying here again and highly recommend it to anyone, pet owners included.
This hotel was fantastic. The location is great and the staff is so warm and helpful. My travel party needed all kinds of assistance while we were here and everyone was ready to help. This morning my diabetic mother was having trouble with her sugar levels at 630 AM and we needed some OJ. The man at the counter heard my request and got up and ran to the restaurant and brought two large glasses of OJ. And then he brought some chocolates to our room in case she needed them later. Everything here is well taken care of and clean. The beds are comfy and Elton our 11 year old greyhound travel companion was not only welcomed but loved by everybody we came in contact with. 10/10 will come bacl Again.
This was a great place to stay on the weekend while we were visiting. It was pretty close to all the stuff that we wanted to go to, but far enough from all of the busyness and touristy part of downtown. I enjoyed a meal at Pacci the Italian place that is attached to the hotel and had great service overall except near for a couple instances. The hotel was very clean and they did our room service on time. Would definitely recommend to other people visiting that don't wanna stay at the busy parts of town.
Had a great stay in Savannah. We booked the hotel last minute and we're glad we made the decision. We had a great first day in the sun and enjoyed the pool and courtyards but the rest of our stay rain so we didn't get to enjoy them more. The hotel service was good and the room was clean and they did our room service pretty often and replenished towels and stuff. Other than it raining while we were there, we enjoyed our stay. It was a little bit walk to some of the sites we wanted to go to but River Street was pretty close. Will definitely recommend two other friends.
We loved The Brice hotel. The location was great located near the waterfront, and in walking distance from the best restaurants and attractions. The rooms were spacious and modern. The pool was such a gem, we went there daily to cool off from the Savannah summer heat. It was great to have the pool bar too. They could add a few extra loungers at the pool as they filled up quickly and the wicker furniture was not comfortable. All the staff members were very kind and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay.
Absolutely the best time we have had. The helpfulness from the valet attendant, front desk, house keeping and front office manager. They all went above and beyond to make our 30th wedding anniversary be exceptional. The hotel is walking distance to almost everything.
I had a fantastic stay at the Kimpton Brice Hotel in Savannah! The rooms were very comfortable, and the AC worked perfectly, which is an absolute must for me. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. I also loved taking advantage of the free wine from 5 to 6 PM every day, such a nice touch! The location is amazing, right in the heart of Savannah, making it easy to explore the city. I would definitely stay here again the next time I’m in Savannah.
Went for a 3 day vacation with our dog and wanted the best dog friendly hotel. This location was perfect for the walkability to the river restaurants and stores. Walking to the Market area was convenient also. If we go back the the district I would choose the Brice
A favorite of mine in Savannah. Found this place years ago when my daughter was attending SCAD. Visited again this week and lived up to my picky husband’s standards. Dog friendly, ideal location off Bay Street, quiet rooms and nice staff. Restaurant serves incredible breakfast, good coffee, expresso drinks. Will stay here again!
I was hesitating to book because of the reviews but happy I ignored them and here is what I think: 1. Pet friendly no fees is a no no-brainer for me. 2. Clean, spacious rooms, nice cute interior. 3. EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE BED. I mean it! It was SO HARD to actually get up and carry on with my day. The sleep was insanely good, my back was shocked and now I have to find the same mattress for my own house. 4. Friendly staff. Jason and Maria were the stars, we came back same week twice because of their treatment. 5. Nice common areas, very good smell in the lobby, afternoon little wine and snacks area. I truly don’t get what the hate was all about. There are always things to work on, little updates here and there , but I loved the hotel overall. Stay and see it yourself!
Our anniversary stay at the Kimpton Brice was truly exceptional! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel celebrated and appreciated, setting the tone for a perfect getaway. The hotel’s stylish charm, mixed with Savannah’s historic character, created the dreamiest backdrop for our special weekend. Our room was cozy, modern, and beautifully appointed — the kind of space that instantly makes you exhale and relax. The soaking tub was EVERYTHING! Every interaction with the team felt warm and genuine, and their thoughtful touches made our stay feel extra meaningful. And of course, being just steps away from great food is a bonus — we had dinner at The Pirate’s House, and let me just say: do yourself a favor and get the fried chicken. Crispy, flavorful, and unforgettable. Worth every bite! We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate our love and our anniversary. Highly recommend the Brice for anyone wanting style, comfort, and true Southern hospitality. 💛✨
We have stayed at the Kimpton Brice Hotel in Savannah many times in the past 4 years. The staff there always makes it feel like a second home when we are there. Adeina Salter, Shakearia Williams, and the new addition to the staff, Jaiden Montgomery, have always gone the extra mile for us. Our last visit was New Years Eve 2025, where we attended their New Years Eve party, which was excellent. The Pacci restaurant and bar has always had great food and service. If you are going to Savannah we highly recommend you stay at the Kimpton Brice hotel.
This hotel is amazing. I am especially impressed with the manager who is able to keep all of the customers happy but also be multitasking simultaneously effortlessly. She is the reason for this review. I did not catch her name but she was on duty today when I checked out and she did a phenomenal job today!
My stay at the Kimpton Brice Hotel exceeded expectations in every way. From arrival to checkout, every interaction with the staff was outstanding. Bryan at the front desk was full of good cheer when he learned it was my wife’s birthday, setting a wonderful tone for our stay. The valet service was prompt and professional. The restaurant delivered an excellent dining experience with delicious breakfast and attentive service. Even housekeeping deserves recognition for being prompt and thorough. It’s clear the staff takes pride in their work. The Bryce Hotel has cultivated a culture of excellence that shows in every phase of the guest experience. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning.
I like staying at the Kimpton brand of hotels. They offer a unique feel amd ambiance that you don't get at the bigger hotels hotels. Brice is no different. The afternoon wine hour is something I look forward to after check in...regretfully I missed it this time around. The relaxing patio where you can enjoy morni g coffee of tea. Also bikes to explore the city. Always a wonderful stay. Although parking is a bit steep. I opted to park on the street and use a mobile parking app to pay for it. I got in late so paying that much when I could easily park withing a few feet for almost free, was a no brainer. The hotel may need a bit spacing up...but it is still a great stay.
We really enjoyed staying at this hotel with our pups for a few days. The hotel is very dog friendly and in a perfect location in Savannah. Our King room had a balcony which overlooked the pool area. The room had a super nice tub and shower combo with a modern design. Our only complaint during our stay is the hotel booked a wedding reception and this prohibited us from being able to go or use the courtyard area.
The hotel is very beautiful and pleasant, and extremely pet-friendly, which we really appreciated. The only area for improvement would be the service. It felt like they needed more staff, both at the front desk and in the restaurant, as service took quite a long time. Regarding the restaurant, it also felt a bit overpriced considering the level of service and the portion sizes.
Urban Oasis in the Heart of Savannah We loved our stay at the Kimpton Brice Hotel. The pool area truly felt like an urban oasis—peaceful, stylish, and perfect for relaxing after exploring the city. Our room was spacious, beautifully updated, and offered the perfect mix of comfort and modern design. The daily social hour and morning coffee are always a favorite perk of staying at Kimpton, and their truly pet-friendly policy is one of the reasons we’ve chosen Kimpton hotels in several different cities. The location is in the historic district, but on the outskirts, so most attractions are a bit of a walk. We opted for the hotel’s valet parking at $49/day—pricey compared to street parking, but very easy and convenient, especially for our excursion to Tybee Island. There are a couple of areas that could be improved. The elevator occasionally had an unpleasant smell, possibly due to pet accidents combined with the Savannah humidity. Also, when we used the pool in the morning, it seemed like it hadn’t been skimmed yet and could have been cleaner. Even with those small issues, the overall experience was wonderful, and the charm of the property made it a memorable part of our trip.
Definitely a great spot for couples or a group of friends looking for fun!! Live music with a bar and restaurant in the lobby. But before you get to that, there’s the valet staff out front making sure you and your things are promptly ushered inside. There’s a beautiful patio in the center of the hotel strung with lights and music streaming. I can only imagine if it hadn’t been raining….. If you don’t like dogs then stay away because this hotel welcomes all breeds so they’re all over the place! There’s constant cleaning so I saw no accidents at anytime in the hallways. The rooms are huge! Bring some bedroom slippers or socks because there’s no carpet on the LVP floors. The towels were well stocked and the shower was hot with great water pressure. I had a fairly quiet room and only heard a little barking. The location puts you right across the street from River Street District and a very close to downtown. We would walk to dinner each night so we didn’t try the hotel restaurant.
This is a tough one to review so I'll break it down piece by piece. I used to manage hotels so I try to be gracious. Check in was mediocre. The front desk associate was on the computer and barely greeted us. We in fact had to ask to be checked in. No one else was in the lobby so I assume she wasn't doing anything work related but I could be wrong. We should have received an upgrade but we were a little early so maybe nothing was available. But she should have at least acknowledged that fact. All the reviews about the smell in the hotel are spot on. Way too much fragrance. In the area near the pool it was so strong that I couldn't stand there for more than about 30 seconds. The room was only ok. Nothing to write home about. I wish they had an extra blanket in the massive armoire but instead it's a robe, an umbrella, and a yoga mat that the website seems pretty proud of. And like most hotels, the room gets hot in the middle of the night even when the thermostat is set low. The hotel is old and it shows. Signs are fading to the point of not being able to read them, carpets in the elevators look dirty, the wood floors are worn, and the wood frames around the windows on the outside are rotting. Definitely needs a renovation. Dinner at Pacci was tasty. We had a hotel credit to use which is why we ate there but $35 for shrimp scampi when it only comes with 5 shrimp seems steep. Then there was breakfast. What could have been the nail in the coffin was actually the redeeming grace because of Adina, the wonderful lady working the front desk. After waiting to be sat at breakfast for a few minutes with no acknowledgement from the team, we were told that they were shutting down the kitchen and no one else would be served. We were peeved because again, we had credits to spend. When I approached the front desk, Adina immediately made everything right. She went above and beyond to make sure we left feeling good. If she isn't a manager, which I suspect she is based on her professionalism, she should be promoted immediately. Overall, I wouldn't stay again unless there was a major renovation but at least I didn't leave on a sour note. 3 stars is devastating for Google reviews so it's a good thing we met Adina!
We stayed at the hotel over Indigenous Peoples’ Day weekend and had a great experience. The hotel was clean, and the atmosphere was lively, especially with the live music one evening. The beds were comfortable, and the location was convenient — about a 20-minute walk to most of the main spots in the area. What really stood out was the staff. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and welcoming, but a special shout-out goes to Shakira, who went above and beyond during our stay. She was always smiling, eager to help, and seemed to be working incredibly long shifts without ever losing her positive energy. The hotel is lucky to have her — they need more people like that! I would definitely stay here again.
We dined at Percy (PACCI) on Christmas Eve and were especially impressed by our waitress, whose name means joy, blessings, and grace ( not mention for her privacy — a perfect reflection of her service. She introduced the Christmas menu with warmth and professionalism, and her hospitality truly elevated our evening. We sincerely hope the dining group considers her for a managerial promotion. Food was 6–7/10. Facilities are good and pet-friendly, but carpet freshness and room cleaning could be improved. The mattress was too soft for this price point. Overall, our waitress’s exceptional service was the highlight of our experience.
I arrived around 10 AM. The front desk informed me that my room was not ready yet, which was completely understandable. However, they told me they would text me once the room was ready and even recorded my phone number. I never received any notification, which was disappointing and felt unprofessional. -0.1 star After checking in, I found that the suite had no hand soap. I asked the front desk at around 6 PM before heading out, and they assured me it would be delivered. When I returned at 9 PM, nothing had arrived. I called and was told the hotel had run out of stock for the day, so I had no choice but to use shower gel as a substitute. -0.3 star The most serious issue was the shower drainage. It was so severely clogged that water began flooding over my slippers within ten seconds. A few minutes into the shower, the water level made it impossible to stand comfortably. I even opened the drain myself and removed a handful of hair and debris, but the issue remained unchanged. The fact that a guest could pull out that much buildup indicates long-term neglect in maintenance, which is unacceptable. -1.5 star The restaurant also fell short. As an Italian restaurant, pizza is supposed to be a core menu item, yet it was already sold out by 6 PM — clearly a sign of inadequate preparation. Meanwhile, only one employee was responsible for seating, taking orders, serving, and handling payments. -0.3 star Overall, my experience aligned with the hotel’s 3.9 Google rating and many of the negative reviews I had seen. I booked this stay mainly to use my $150 credit, but it turned out to be the wrong choice. There are better options nearby, and I cannot recommend this property.
After staying at numerous Kimpton locations, I’ve come to expect mediocre service, and unfortunately, this property is no exception. While I appreciate that Kimpton accommodates pets—which is truly the main reason I remain loyal to the brand—the rest of the experience consistently falls short. The rooms are adequate and the restaurant is passable, but neither stands out. What concerns me most is the service, which should be the cornerstone of any hospitality experience. Time and again, Kimpton locations fail to deliver on this most important aspect, and this property is no different. Until the brand prioritizes genuine guest service, I can’t recommend it beyond travelers specifically seeking pet-friendly accommodations.
Extremely stretched to call this a 4 star. Rooms need more upkeep( showers grout and cleanliness is bad), beds and linens are great. Service at lobby and valet is awesome. Restaurant seems to have reheated food items and was very very underwhelming but the bartender spins out great quality drinks. Pool was nice and enjoyable, just wish it had better upkeep and poolside food service or a bar that’s there in evenings too. I did not feel this place deserves a 4 star rating 3- for sure.
Very pet friendly and has an attached Italian restaurant with it. Nice portico where you can sit and relax. Pool area wasn’t very clean.
The hotel is very cute. It was extra humid throughout the property (barring the room, thankfully). There was also a leak in the roof of the elevator which soaked the carpet & made it smell like mildew. We had a private balcony room that overlooked the pool. To the naked eye, the room seemed clean; however, when i started the tub (just to see, it was [thankfully] not going to actually use it) it filled with a black sludge that seemed to come from the drain - it was pretty disgusting. The do have a parking garage but you must do valet & it's a $50 fee (which seems average for all hotels in the area). Luckily there was street parking nearby for $1/hr & free after 8pm. All in all, it was nice for a 1 night stay.
The location is good, but parking costs $52 per night, while nearby garages charge around $20. The room had a strong moldy smell. The shower sink was clogged, and the water did not drain properly. The front desk staff member was friendly but seemed to lack sufficient knowledge.
The Brice is in an excellent location, but left a lot to be desired. The room was small and to use the “desk”, you had to move the TV. The glass desktop was broken glass and had sharp edges. Thankfully I brought my own extension cord so I could plug in my laptop. There was a hairdryer provided, but it was broken. It took 3 visits and 8 hours to get it swapped out. Ironing boards and irons were available upon request. Those only took a couple of hours to get. I didn’t bother asking for an in-room coffee maker. Coffee was provided in the lobby in the morning only. Housekeeping came and changed out my towels. The housekeeping staff was friendly and efficient. The room was ill-equipped, but clean. They provided a single bathrobe that was lovely, but not if there are 2 people in the room. Do you share? Getting the remote control batteries replaced led to an uncomfortable situation where the desk staff seemed to expect a tip for servicing their own equipment. Just no. The elevator smelled HORRENDOUS. It had a rug that was full of debris and who knows what else that was never cleaned, or even vacuumed during our 4-day visit. There was dust and lint built up in the corners of the elevator . The desk staff agreed it smelled awful, but nobody bothered to address it. Really gross. The carpet on the stairs was stained as well. The price for the location was fair, but don’t expect ANY luxury. If you enjoy a fancy hotel, this is not the place for you.
Room was clean and bed was comfy, but we discovered at bedtime that the lamp and charging station on one side of the bed were not operational. There was a raft of plugs and connectors and surge protectors to contend with; nothing seemed to work, and we gave up rather than calling for help at that hour. This should not have happened---housekeeping should make sure everything is working before finishing up in a room. Also, we were told at check-in that room service was available but discovered when we tried to order that it was not, because the restaurant had a banquet that night. One of us is immunocompromised, so eating in the restaurant instead was not a good option for us, and also not what we wanted to do. It was very disappointing to have to order and wait for a pizza instead. We expected better.
This pains me to have to write such a review for one of my favourite hotel chains…. This is not my first time I’ve stayed at the Kempton Brice … we return to this place because of location, the amenities and accommodations. I arrive to the entryway of the hotel, (I have parked my car around the corner from your establishment,) and I am carrying a purse, a wheel luggage, a backpack, and a few other things in my hands. I noticed that the door did not have an automatic opening and as I struggle to open the door, I noticed that the valet who was standing at his post (there were no cars or vehicles to tend ) was more interested in flipping through his Phone, then attending to the needs of a patron. Luckily, my fiancé saw my struggle and came to open the door for me to let me into the entryway. Off to the room we went, and essential King room which was on the second floor and overlooked the street. The accommodations of the king bed room were nice, but I noticed that there was repaired to the desktop which was a mirrored topped. When a room cost over $350 for a Saturday night, it’s not the standard of having to come into a room that’s been repaired. My fiancé is a diamond elite holder and he took the selection of the hot breakfast for 2 voucher for the following morning on site. (See pic of breakfast menu with the diamond elite card/voucher for verification of name and date.) Normally I don’t have complaints, your establishment does everything so very well. When we arrive to the host stand to obtain a table there were three people off to the side speaking to each. There were several minutes that went by-the host stand was 10 feet away with no obstruction to see that we’re waiting on a table. One of the three finally left the area from there their discussion to come to attend to sitting us at a table. I didn’t mind that the service was slow to the table. What was unfortunate was that when our food came to the table it was lukewarm (steak and eggs are not good served lukewarm)(see pic of breakfast served to the table)and there were only five tables being serviced at this time between two wait staff. Why didn’t I send the food back? It took a considerable time to get to the table and I didn’t want to waste more time waiting on food the same items I ordered to come out hot. We have made plans right after breakfast to enjoy the city we were visiting. If you check my past reviews for any IHG hotel reviews, you will see that my reviews are impeccable about your establishments. I know there are“hiccups”, but these could’ve been easily avoided. For your record we’ve visited on September 7 of 2025 and you can see the complementary hot breakfast for two card/voucher please on top of the breakfast menu with the date and the holder’s name to verify our stay.
This hotel looks like it was nice at one time and it is in a great location, however the rooms are really run down and the housekeeping is really poor. The shower and tub were so nasty looking my daughter used her sandals in the shower to keep from touching the floor. I am very particular about cleanliness so I won't be staying here next time I visit Savannah. The common areas are better than the rooms. If your hotel is so run down and your guest rooms desperately need an update, you really have no business claiming to be a 4 star hotel. Don't let the pictures online fool you.
The staff is great, but the hotel is so worn down. My room kept having a horrible smell coming from the bathroom. Staff offered to fix it, but the stay was too short to deal with it. There is an amenities fee so the price is higher than what is shown. The parking is $49 a day when street parking is so cheap and easy to manage on the City’s app. Ample parking around the hotel and City.
Very dog friendly! Room was small. Short staffed and staff is unattentive. Hotel is uncared for, dirty & rundown. $52 for valet parking is ridiculous!
We booked our stay at the Kimpton Brice through Chase travel, but the hotel was overbooked and we didn’t receive the room we reserved - the 1 bedroom King suite spa. There was no compensation, no alternatives offered, and not much empathy from staff. The front desk blamed it on chase travel. The property felt poorly managed, and even the restaurant—though staff was kind— clearly understaffed and chaotic. For an IHG hotel, especially on a holiday weekend, the lack of organization and care was unacceptable. I’ve contacted the hotel and am still awaiting a response.
We chose this hotel because it allows pets, but if you don't have a dog, there's no reason to stay there. The hotel looks better in the photos than it does in real life, which is dirty. The bed and towels were clean, but the walls, floors, and doors were dirty And there was a wet smell in the room. The advantages include comfortable beds, clean towels and comfortable robes.
Upon arrival, no greeting. There was a valet across the street “hanging out”. Gave me a funny look. That was my first impression. When you walk inside the hotel, you are hit with strong chemical smells that are actually fragrance that has been sprayed on top of fragrance - on top of more fragrance into the carpeting -and furniture- but not “Tom Ford”….not a classy Miami smell. It’s the cheapest smelling chemical air freshener smell and I immediately got a headache. I checked in with hesitation, asked the Front desk attendant to allow me to go upstairs and inspect the room. It was a maze just getting to the room and in that maze was carpeting that had been sprayed over and over and over and over again with the same disgusting, cheap fragrance. The carpet was disgusting. How did I get here? As I walked along the corridor (a single woman), maintenance men were working on a room, and they looked me up and down, checking me out, which made me very uncomfortable. Inside the room was the same horrible smell that I experienced when I walked in the front door. So I decided I could not keep the room. There was no way I could sleep in that smell and not have a migraine when I woke up. The furniture in the room was bery “beat up” dings all around it. The room just felt “gross”. This hotel has a lot of potential but clearly the owners do not care about it.. Save your money on this hotel and upgrade. The Bardo Hotel is amazing. That’s where I went and it’s worth every penny.
Stayed here for a long weekend with my husband and dog and was not impressed. We are loyal to the Kimpton chain for their commitment to being pet friendly while still delivering luxury hotel and culinary experiences. The rooms and restaurant left more to be desired. The air conditioning was broken in the first room we were given, and so later that afternoon we were moved into another. The rooms were just okay, updated enough for the building to be as old as it is. When we visited the pool, there were no towels anywhere to be found. Other guests told us that we would have to go to the front desk to request them, and even then it took upwards of 30 mins to receive them. We visited the restaurant's bar every night of our stay for pre-dinner drinks. One evening, I waited at least 20 mins before even being approached by the bartender. The drinks were not good and extremely overpriced as compared to other fine dining establishments we visited during the weekend. The highlights of this hotel are that the hotel/restaurant staff were very friendly, the location is within walking distance to many other restaurants/bars and the riverside area, as well as the pet friendly atmosphere that Kimpton's are known for. Once I received my bill after check out, I realized that it was incorrect. I have called been transferred to accounting and left voicemails 4x and not heard back from anyone yet. It's been nearly 2 weeks since our stay. I finally reached out to IHG and have been reassured that hotel management will reach out within 48 hours to resolve my issue.
Far and away the worst Kimpton I have stayed in. For reference, I’ve stayed and enjoyed my time at the Kimpton Monaco, Palomar, Marlowe, and Tyron Park. The front desk was disinterested and curt while the room was dated and could use attention. The toilet seat was broken, our fridge did not work, there were various scuffs and damage to the walls, furniture, and doorframe. If I had not arrived after a 12 hour drive, I may have asked to change rooms or offered some kind of feedback in the moment. Unfortunately it did not feel worthwhile given the attitude at the front desk. The associate who checked me in did not make eye contact and seemed genuinely annoyed that I needed to check in though it was only 745pm. I had to ask to be acknowledged and she did not offer the information I know I’m meant to receive upon check in. Additionally, while checking in another guest indicated that he was given a room key to an occupied room. Instead of entering a clean and available room, the room was full of other people’s items and clearly in use. The individual managing his concern laughed it off in a way that I do not think acknowledged that as a fairly serious error. I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you’re expecting the Kimpton experience you’ve had elsewhere. I booked on the Amex platform and will be providing feedback there as well as I don’t think this is aligned with the hotels they aim to partner with. We did have one positive and bright interaction during check out on Sunday morning. The woman and gentleman working were kind and personable.
Nice hotel, but everyone seems to have a dog. I love dogs, and most pets, but a number of these dogs are not very well socialized. Yes, that is the owner’s fault, but the staff does nothing about it. Constant barking, even in the bar. I expect a peaceful stay when I spend this much. Hotel staff, please consider all of your guests.
The most awful staff and experience (except the maintenance guy that came to help) I am a local and I decided to stay here for my girlfriends 21st birthday. Upon checking in the front desk guy acted like I was scum as he answered phone calls and practically questioned me as if it was really her birthday. Denied giving me an upgraded room ( which was fine), but it was after 9pm and I had just paid a premium and they were obviously at very low capacity. Finally we get a room, bam no a/c. Maintenance guy comes in, says sorry about this guys, I’m going to tell management to change your rooms right now. We sit for 4 hours in a 80 degree room on her birthday I just paid $$$ for to stay for maybe 12 hours. Finally, ( with them saying they are booked and won’t be able to move us) they agree to move rooms. Finally we have a room that’s not 80 degrees, ac is working no problem. Nope, now there’s no hot water in this room. Awful experience, awful degrading staff. I hope if you stay here, you get the better experience. On top of all of that. 40 minutes before the bar and restaurant closed, we were denied service because they were about to close. This is not luxury price service. I know for a fact I would have been treated better at a 2 star $80 a night spot. Brice hotel management. Fire every body there except for your maintenance team.
Completely a disaster!!!!Thank you again for ruined my wonderful vacation. There is no any place can be worse than here. We booked the room which is breakfast included which means I paid my food. But when I go to the breakfast restaurant, I was standing to wait for my breakfast for over ten minutes and then someone came out told me they can not offer me the breakfast that I already paid for because the chef is pass out. However, I can see they still consistently bring food from the kitchen to the table that people already sitting on the restaurant. So the final solution is they gave us four pieces for toast. So we have accept the food like a homeless getting free food from the food bank! So please don’t ever stay in this hotel I am begging everyone who see this review
The Kimpton Brice Hotel is far from being a luxury hotel, its infrastructure is aged and dilapidated, poorly maintained and it appears that the asset management group cares very little about client services. Photos on Expedia and other online resources including the site are heavily doctored and by no means convey the real sense of the property. This must have been our worst experience in the last 5 years. When we arrived on July 30th, I immediately noticed that the common areas were filthy, carpets stained and the scent in the hall and the stairwell were not pleasant. We found our room floors in a similar condition, poorly cleaned and the air extremely humid. The staff lacked professionalism and were unhelpful, treating us with contempt, the manager was not present on the property or the staff wasn’t able or willing to locate him/her to address the issues. We vacated the property within 30 minutes of arrival, the management refused to speak with me, in person or over the phone, they did not attempt to refund even a portion of the money we spent on the stay that we did not take part in. Absolutely not worth $2,674.10 for 3 nights.
Check in is at 4 pm. Arrived at 4:33pm and was told my room was still being cleaned because it is a suite and would be 30 more minutes. Had dinner reservations at 5pm so had to leave our luggage and walk to dinner. There is no coffee maker or microwave in the room. For the price and being a 4 star hotel I would expect those things. There is a mini fridge with $7 bottles of Fiji on top. There is no ice on the 6th floor and my husband had to go searching for ice which he found on the second floor. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated inside and out. The lobby and outdoor garden seating was very nice. The location is also very good with walking to River street. However there is also no parking and $49 per night valet parking only. For the price I would stay elsewhere. However I’ve seen a lot of dogs and it is very dog friendly here with poop bags and dog treats in the lobby.
I called on 11/7 to inquire about the pet policy and ended up booking an overnight stay for 11/8 as my husband and I move 3 cats and a dog across the country. They said as long as I was there before 10pm there would be no issues. At 8pm on 11/8 as I was 30 minutes from the hotel they called to tell me they overbooked but not to worry because I wouldn't be penalized. PENALIZED FOR WHAT literally the biggest inconvenience that could have happened??? Couldn't tell you how the rooms or location are but service is the worst I've ever seen from a hotel. Have another stop to make during this move and I won't bother with any Kimpton Hotels ever again. Thanks for being terrible! 👌
Listen to the low-star reviews! This hotel is mid at best, despite the four-star hotel status. I don’t mind paying a “resort fee” if the hotel actually feels luxurious (unless you count the free cheap wine and stale potato chips they serve in the afternoon). This hotel does not provide a luxury experience. While advertised as a “pet friendly” hotel, the hotel website states that there are pet-free rooms available. When my husband and I arrived, we were informed by staff that the website was not accurate. All rooms are pet rooms if a paying customer arrives with a pet. The website also boasts “yoga mats” in every room. Our room was bereft of the promised yoga mats. The hotel looks pretty on the outside, but the rooms, lobby, and restaurant are run down. The hallways are cramped and loud. Even our room didn’t feel private due to the noisiness of the halls. Based on the photos and copy on the website, we’d envisioned this hotel as a quiet, luxurious retreat while in town under unfortunate circumstances (a funeral). We left feeling duped. Next time, we’ll swing for The Holiday Inn instead. At least their room rates align with the value of the experience! The bartender was nice, though.
Walking in the lobby will be the best experience you will have at Kimpton Brice. Nicely decorated, smells great, nice courtyard. Beyond that is less than par. Carpets very dirty, musky odor throughout, very dark. Rooms are not cleaned daily. Extra towels are available upon request only. There wasn't live entertainment in the bar, everything ridiculously over priced. Did I mention the AC wasn't working in our room? There was one female staff member at the desk Saturday morning that was very helpful. All other staff we encountered from valet to front desk not helpful in answering questions nor providing solutions. Customer service skills definitely need improving as well as educating staff on how to provide a great experience to paying customers. Needless to say after staying one night we made other accommodations elsewhere forfeiting two nights that were paid in full. Will definitely do more research and read reviews before our next trip.
The hotel’s location is centralized which is very convenient. The rooms are clean and comfy. However, the staff was terrible. They all seemed as if they hated their jobs and were annoyed by guests. Whether you’re just checking in, asking a question, or grabbing something from the bar (for the exception of the bartender) everyone seemed bothered or frustrated. Very disappointing especially since I was hoping to experience some southern hospitality. Our experience was also not fantastic considering there were so many families here with young adults who were out all night then came back to their rooms and partied all night (3am-4am). This happened from Friday thru Sunday morning. It was awful. Pay a little bit more and go somewhere else.
Experience wasn't 1 star level bad until I checked out early in the morning and found no one was at the front desk (nor did they ever come) and the valet said "there was a system reset so they couldn't print the receipt anyways". Reluctantly, I left so that I could travel. Restaurant was over priced for what you get (not abnormal for hotel food) so I would recommend some of the local restaurants within walking distance instead (B. Matthews was great for breakfast and dinner). Valets were always kind however, I would recommmend a breakroom for them to sleep during the night shift and a way to ring for them at the front desk as there is a lack of professionalism in the valets sitting in their cars out front or sleeping on the couch in the lobby. When I recieved my car at the front it smelled like Marijuana inside which I did not appreciate in my rental. The room had wall paper peeling off and the TV stand way cracked (normal aging). Overall, had it not been for the unprofessional at the tail end of my visit I likely wouldn't have even made a reviewing comment.
Disappointing Experience at Kimpton Brice Hotel – Not the Birthday Weekend I Expected. I stayed at the Kimpton Brice Hotel for my birthday weekend, and I can’t help but feel incredibly let down by the overall experience. While I was initially impressed by the warm welcome from the valet, front desk staff, and even the restaurant manager (Shakiria, who graciously gifted me a birthday dinner at Pacci), the rest of my stay was a nightmare. The hotel is dog-friendly, which is great since I was traveling with my pup, Dax. However, the issues arose when I encountered a group of college kids who seemed to be staying on the same hallway as me. The noise was unbearable, and it was clear from the start that they were going to be a problem. On Friday evening, as I was heading out to dinner, I was greeted with ridiculously loud music blaring from one of the rooms at around 6 PM. At that time, I didn’t think much of it it’s Friday night, after all. But things quickly went downhill. By midnight, when I returned to the hotel, the group returned to their rooms and proceeded to be as loud as possible in the hallways. While this noise didn’t last as long that night, it still disrupted my sleep. Saturday was a bit of a wash after that, but I made the best of it and headed out to the farmers market with Dax. We came back exhausted, hoping for some rest before dinner. Unfortunately, the college kids had other plans. They were running back and forth, yelling, and antagonizing the dogs. Every time a dog barked, they’d bark back, which just escalated the chaos. This went on for hours, and I couldn’t get any rest. By the time it was bedtime, I was beyond frustrated. 2 AM came, and the noise got worse. Yelling, whistling, banging on doors it felt like the party was never going to stop. I called the front desk, and the staff member on duty was kind and tried her best to calm the situation. She was aware of the issue because apparently I wasn't the only one complaining and she was doing everything she could to control the chaos, but unfortunately, things continued to escalate. By 3:45 AM, I called again to follow up, and at that point, I was in tears from exhaustion. The staff member was clearly frustrated too, as it was just her on duty and she couldn’t get management or the police involved in time. The noise didn’t stop, and at that point, I was left with only a few hours of broken sleep. Sunday morning, I asked to speak to the manager, hoping to address the situation. When I spoke to her, she immediately knew who I was and apologized. She said she would be compensating me for a day or two and explained that the cause of the disturbance was a group of “entitled fraternity guys and their girlfriends.” Not exactly what I wanted to hear, but at least she acknowledged the issue. However, that still didn’t make up for the complete lack of sleep or the frustration I felt over the whole situation. When I left the hotel early Sunday morning, I was beyond exhausted, and I couldn’t even enjoy my final moments in Savannah. It was the worst stay I’ve ever had, and for a Kimpton hotel, I expected better. I felt like my concerns were dismissed, and there was no real action taken to address the situation. It’s clear that this hotel has a serious issue with noise control, and based on my experience, I’ll be staying elsewhere next time I visit Savannah. If you're looking for rest and relaxation it's really hard for me to recommend the Kimpton Brice Hotel right now!
After being in the car for the entire day on the way to our booked and reserved room, the hotel called to inform us that they had overbooked and that we would not be staying the night. At 10pm we had to scramble to find somewhere that would take us and our animals. So if actually being able to sleep in the room you reserve is something that is important to you, I wouldn't recommend this hotel
Do not stay here. Dated. FILTHY. Understaffed. Worst Kimpton ever. Note: All Kimptons are dog friendly and most I've stayed at are still beautiful so that's not the reason this Kimpton is SO substandard. This hotel is simply disgusting, and absurdly mismanaged. IHG/Kimpton should retract their flag immediately. Savannah is PERFECT for I-95 travelers with pets. What a shame! Such a lost opportunity. A terrible hotel.
I don't usually write reviews but honestly my worst experience to date. I booked it through the Chase Edit collection. The welcome amenity was a bottle of water. The fridge started leaking during our stay. Breakfast was included but no one came to take our order on our last day and we just ended up leaving. Icing on the cake was that they charged the entire room again to my credit card though I had prepaid it through Chase. They did not respond to my emails and had to contact IHG customer care to get it resolved. Just glad I didn't take the valet parking because I'm sure something would've gone wrong there as well.
Stayed here in 2022 and had a wonderful experience. After returning this time, I was thoroughly dissapointed in the experience. Starting with the valet who did not offer to hold open the front door while I was juggling a bell hop and dog in both hands. I then waited in line for checkin over 20 minutes. Upon reaching the desk the staff didn't greet us, smile, or show any semblance of customer service. The hotel did not honor our $100 amex credit or late checkout. None of the advertised items or services were available (coffee, toiletries, etc.) The room was dirty, had a heavy musty odor, and the fridge was broken. The walls and doors are so thin that we were able to hear all the maid conversations in the hallway starting at 7am each morning. Our room was near the cleaning supplies and washers/dryers. There were dogs barking endlessly throughout the day that could be heard 6 doors down. When the maids came through it was clear that they did not vacuum or mop the floors. I've stayed at many kimptons and often enjoy the change of style as compared to Marriott (my usual choice) but this has left a really bad taste for me. Update: I was surprised to see my folio included a resort charge which was neither mentioned during booking nor at check-in.
