Bartender was very nice. Had some great wings. Price was good too.

My husband and I were just passing thru looking for a good place to eat. Everything was really good. Prices were reasonable. Staff was very attentive and cracked a joke or two. Everytime we pass thru we will be stopping. We would love to make this a weekly spot if we decide to move closer to the area. Thanks for the great food and service.

We came after the dinner rush, served up our street tacos with style, great house salsa. Food was on point, waitress was very polite and helpful, very welcoming feel from the staff. will definitely be back, I highly recommend this joint.

Great place! Good food, good service and hospitality. The environment was pleasant and I felt at home. On top of all that they even had the game on the tvs. Overall A+ stop, get a table here I recommend it. 👌

The food was delicious, I ordered the chicken flour. I went for my birthday and the chef brought me a special birthday treat that was also amazing.

We had a GREAT experience here!! My mom and I are gluten free and they are VERY accommodating to that. Madison Ahart (Thunder) made the BEST Mexican martini I’ve ever had. And our server, Victoria, was absolutely the BEST! Let us know what we could eat and not and was the friendliest and so sweet. Thanks for putting up with us!!! We’ll be back for sure.

Great little neighborhood bar. My wife and I will stop there often on the way back to the island. We'll get the El Jefe margaritas. Sometimes, we'll get a second one, but no more than that. Food is good and bartenders are always nice and attentive.

We will definitely make this a stop when ever we stay in Hitchcock or Texas city. Prices on food very reasonable and plates are plentiful. 💯

Jane was very attentive and made sure we plenty to drink .We got water and coke to go .They have a big menu with a wide variety of food items . The prices are reasonable. They serve alcohol also . The restaurant was clean and well maintained. I liked the friendly atmosphere. I would highly recommend this place.

5 stars all day long now! The Baja is under new ownership and has a new chef! I couldn’t be more pleased with the new atmosphere and good food! The new owner took the time to introduce himself and welcome us, he’s a local and has done a great job with the place! They’ve added a side bar with 4 beers on tap so far with the promise of 8 to come!! Good job Wayne and the whole crew!!!

1st visit. Great local hangout nestled in a little strip center. Cozy, extremely nice and attentive staff! Inside and outside seating. Drinks and a big menu for grub! And they have KARAOKE 🎤🤣!

This place is under new ownership. I can tell you personally that they are still making great food and drinks. The bartender Sam is awesome, even the owner was onsite and he is the one that took my order .That speaks volumes to me.

Had a late dinner at the bar. The team seems like family and get along well. The food was great, I had enchiladas. But the margaritas could have been better. We did have a good time with the night crew.

Morial was a great server! Food was amazing but holy smokes the music was way too loud! We couldn’t even hear each other at the table it sounded like the speakers were blown out. Would give five stars just for the server! She was the best

This place used to be great until it was put under new management. The menu is completely different and very limited. Atmosphere is very small and crowded. Not sure why the new owner didn’t change the name of the establishment to reflect these changes. The service was mediocre and the fried pickles were excellent.

Taco Tuesday. Hard crunchy tacos were not very good. The shells need to be heated up longer. Tasted old. The soft taco was much better. Service was solid. Atmosphere was pretty bland.

Food was absolutely mediocre. It was missing half of its typical ingredients. Salsa tasted like water. Fajitas served with only onions. Tortilla soup tasted like chicken broth... however, the margaritas arent bad. Decent atmosphere, bad food, good service.

Eaten here 5 or 6 times. Service is good, drinks are cold, food is lacking. The bacon wrapped shrimp are excellent, but that's about the only thing on the menu that are regularly good. The green sauce is very good, but over all I'm disappointed with the food

I had to leave halfway through my meal due to the smell of sewage coming from the bathroom. This started after I had received my food. The bartender put bleach down the sink which seemed to intensify the smell. Felt sick the entire drive home. Still feeling sick to my stomach and cannot bring myself to finish my meal.

Im sorry....food quality was on par with Taco Bell at 9 times the price...cheese on food was not even real, just the cheap stuff that doesn't even melt. Margaritas had no hint of alcohol whatsoever...never again...server was good but reaked of cig smoke and while we were there she went out 4 times to smoke while there...never again..

Soooooo I originally gave this place 5 star review, but now after new ownership i dont believe I will go back. You now have to pay for chips and salsa. The chips are like the $2 bag chips from HEB. We ordered the chips and sausage queso. The queso came out with a think skin on it, had to stir it and there was no sausage. Queso nothing even close like before, it tasted like the ballpark cheese in a can mixed with a little velveeta and some rotel. After a bite we couldn't eat it. Then our margaritas showed up, those were overly sour and tart. I drank mine and my wives and dont even think there was much tequila in it. Usually with two margaritas I'm good, with these nothing. So we didnt order anything else afraid of the results. I hope that the locals are giving the new owners honest opinions on the food. Because if anyone says it is better than before, they are lying. The menu itself is not impressive any more. This is the lowest rating I have ever given a restaurant. So sad this place is what it is now, used to be a great damn place.... Maybe it was just a bad day but there was only the Bartender taking orders & serving. We ordered Chips & Salsa and she said the cook is making fresh chips. They never came. Then we ordered Enchiladas & Burger. Horrible. Hopefully the food & service will improve.

Wait time was ridiculous. We sat there for 20 minutes waiting for the drink order then 30 minutes to place our order. At some point my friend tried to find a server only to be yelled at and still we waited. Then we watched several people come and go (unserviced). The only reason we stayed was we had eaten everthing else in the 3 restaurant town 2x already. The owner finally came to take our order and promised to make things right, which she did nothing at all!! Dont believe her sob story. If I could score 0 I would!!!!!

Seemed understaffed, so it took forever for service. Went for a late lunch on a Wednesday. Tables were dirty, plates looked like they weren’t cleaned properly. Forced myself to try the food…very bland. Restrooms were a wreck and falling apart.

so me and my son ain't here 2 days ago and right when we got there the waitress came and took our order for drinks and then brought us our drink and we were about to order food but then she walked away and then she went and sat down at another table then she proceeded to help them and then came outside and sat down at another table and then help them and then sat down again, she looked at us and then looked away. She finally came to help us after about 15 minutes. we ordered tacos and if you're going to get tacos only order the pork. The beef was horrible, I don't know what cut of meat it was but it was really bad and definitely old and borderline rancid. The chicken gave us food poisoning and I informed her that the chicken was bad and she didn't attempt to comp the chicken taco which was one of five that we ordered. definitely stay away from this place

All frozen all trash except a BS 1/2 cheese tortilla ppl come here to drink the food is trash I ain’t coming back. We had just left the grocery store shoulda just hit the frozen section

Not to mention, when we got there it wasn't very busy, tables that got there after us got their food first, other tables our waitress went to multiple times and didn't even check on us. Had to go neck up to the bar to tell them they didn't put shrimp in my fajitas, then they messed up AGAIN and made something else. Ended up telling them it was fine and asked for the tab. Service was extremely poor. Food had zero flavor. Overall extremely disappointing experience. There is not many places I won't give a second try. But I will never be back. Overall a terrible experience.
