I was craving Beef Fajitas and decided to revisit Barcenas Mexican Grill in LaMarque. I was promptly greeted, seated and provided the menu by the hostess. The waiter, David came to the table to offer beverage service. I ordered Ice Tea which was delivered in a few moments along with chips and salsa. David had been my server about 6 months ago and recalled my patronage. There was no need to review the menu since beef fajitas were my mission. With my order in place i enjoyed the chips and salsa! About 15 minutes passed and David delivered a sizzling platter. The fajitas were tender and cooked to perfection, as well as the sides. David stopped by a couple of time checking on the meal and refilling tea. The meal was a success. David’s service was great. I paid the bill and was invited to return.
We are regular customers at Barcenas Mexican Grill, and we have to give a huge shoutout to our favorite server, T-Roy! Every single visit, he keeps us entertained with his uplifting, fun personality and great sense of humor. His jokes always make our day. The food here is already amazing, but T-Roy truly takes the whole experience over the top. He goes above and beyond to make sure guests feel welcomed and taken care of. If every server were like him, the world would definitely be a better place! Highly recommend asking for T-Roy when you visit — you won’t be disappointed!
Everything was amazing. We had the birria enchiladas and quesabirria tacos. Ending with churros that that had a sweet milk based filling, topped with ice cream, chocolate syrup, dulcet de Leche syrup, and whipped cream. Amazing all around. Will definitely recommend and return.
I've been here twice, both times I had excellent service. The last time was during the cold freeze during January, and they were closing early because of the weather, but instead of turning us away showing up 5 minutes before they closed, they invited us in and served us anyway.
This is a really nice, comfortable restaurant with delicious food, excellent service and very warm atmosphere. Highly recommended for small and large groups. Has a private room, with tvs.
Couldn’t get our rental car until noon so we came here and they are the kindest souls and the food is good! They let us bring our luggage in, snack on chips and dip & wait here. Avis wouldn’t even let us tuck our suitcases away in a corner while we came over to the bathroom. But this restaurant is amazing with such kind people!!! That’s hard to find these days
My first time here with my entire family for our Christmas party and it was great! Semi private room in the back, TV so we didn't miss the Big 12 games, and I can't say enough about the servers. They were amazing! The food was great and the drinks were 🤩🤌🏽 now I know where to eat when we come into town to visit family! We usually go to some other places down 45, but not anymore. This is our new place!!
We are here now at 9:46pm, and I must say the customer service here is wonderful by Jackie, the bar tender. She is such a ball of life and very tentative to the customers. I had to ask her name because I wanted to make sure her review gets to her but definitely a 10/10 service.

Great experience. It was my first time going. Venue is clean , staff is amazing, especially the two ladies(manager and waitress)that served me. Food was great,hot fresh and ready to eat. The only issue for me was the drinks are a bit expensive comparative speaking, otherwise I definitely recommend this Barcenas Mexican bar and grill.
The food is delicious. The restaurant is clean. AND THE STAFF ARE AMAZING!!!! When my party of 4 went mid-day on a Tuesday, we were greeted with happiness by the hostesses. We here helped by several of the wait staff, and they were co portable enough to joke around with us. And they all helped to make sure we were happily fed. The food was excellent tasting and fresh. THANK YOU!!!!

Fresh tortillas and charro beans taste like a little old lady made them! Good food overall lots of choices. The red salsa was good and green salsa was great.! All day breakfast! Great job from the wait staff super friendly and attentive! I don't know why I have tried it before! Prices are a bit high it was $55 for breakfast for two.
The 1/2 order of beef nachos was perfect amount for me. Chips didn't break when loaded with meat, cheese and fixings. Fast friendly staff
Was in the area from Galveston, and decided to try Barcenas Mexican for lunch, and so glad I did. This will definitely be a new regular place. The food was delicious! I got the crunchy tacos, with ground beef and charro beans! They were amazing. In fact, I'm craving them today! I can't tell you how good just the taco shells alone were! The service was fast, and attentive. Even, the manger walked around checking on guests and making sure everything was good! You won't be disappointed!
I’m not a Tex-Mex cuisine lover and I was reluctant to eat at Barcena’s. Lunch was calling and we went in hoping for a good bite. Well surprise surprise!!!! Chips and salsa real good. We had lemonade and it was well balanced taste, no bitterness to it. Hubby got Carne Guisada I got Aztec Soup, I was warned it was very spicy hot. Well I was totally in love with this Aztec Soup very delicious, yes spicy hot the way I like it! Carne Guisada was oh so tender and awesome flavor, specially with flour tortillas. On the wait staff all friendly and attentive. Clean restaurant. Good prices. Ok yes I’m ready to go back.
Always fantastic food and good service! The margaritas are amazing and you can purchase them Togo! I’ve never had a dish here that I don’t like. The food is always fresh and flavorful. The employees are friendly and accommodating. Definitely recommend this place is you’re craving Mexican food!

Great place!!!!! Delicious food, fast and courteous service. I had the shrimp stuffed avocado, sub salad for the rice and it was to die for! My mom had the shrimp quesadillas and my daughter had the kids chicken quesadilla. Everything was fabulous and affordable. Definitely give it a try!

I remember the first location on Bay Area by Heritage Park and have been to the one by Texas City & 45. First rate TexMex at great prices with impeccable service.

I literally ordered the fajita for 2 priced at $38 with a glass of water (free). I’m a veteran so I got a military discount which took 80cents off. My bill was $51.78 somehow. After viewing the receipt, I noticed for sour cream with my Fajita, I was charged $2.99, a small cup of shredded I was charged $3.99 and a small cup of cheese sauce I was charged (9.50). I explained to the manager that I have never ordered a meal and paid $15 for condiments. Even fast food gives you condiments with your order. Let alone, the waiter never disclosed that the condiments would cost these substantial amounts. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE
