The absolute best burgers in Hollister. Their double bacon cheese burgers are the best and their chili cheese burgers are mouth watering. Fries or onion rings or both along with a ice cold A&W Rootbeer and your hunger needs are taken care of and you'll feel good all over

A&W Restaurant in Hollister is the best place for a burger. My favorite is the Double Bacon Cheese Burger, a meal in one and the flavor is next to none. Great people, low prices cold cold root beer and floats that will make you feel happy all over. A&W In Hollister is the best, period, end of discussion.

My wife and I like to just go out and grab a quick bite to eat, not to expensive and good food. I ordered the #1 Papa Burger Combo at $10.79 with Calories post on all menu Items, My Papa Burger meal came in at Cal. 860 - 1150. Blanca ordered the the #4 Coney Cheese Chile Dog with mustard, onions at $8.49, Cal. 690 - 970. I liked the point that you can Better your Combo meals with a special Menu thats posted on the window and my review pictures, we got another order of Onion Rings for just $1.29 that were also very good with our fries instead of paying Reg price side order of $4.29. My burger was really good, meaty and the veggies were fresh, good soft bread. Blanca's Coney Dog was also very good, the chile and cheese was very tasty like something you could throw on top of a bag of fritos at a baseball game and call it a frito pie. Sorry for not posting pictures, I guess i'm just going to have to go back again. LoL Another 2 thumbs up! The service was fast and on Point, Very clean place.

This is a great place, and it has the best burgers and their frys are always fresh and so delicious. The rootbeer is the best fabulous taste. But their milk shakes are out of this world. They make it the way you want it and their's is hard to beat. The people on the other side of the counter are so kind and respectful.

I seen the high ratings and was wondering why they were so high, if your wondering the same thing come try it, and you will probably end up giving them 5 stars too. No complaints.

The food was great everything was freshly made the fries were crispy on the outside and sof on the inside. I had the root beer and it's probably the best root beer around. My only critique is the outside seating could be better.

Great little place, hamburgers taste homemade with fresh lettuce, onion, tomatoes. Ice cream is delish and good size. Fries are super crispy

Unbelievably good food and really affordable. Delightful place to go for a nostalgic dinner, love A&W, it really adds to the small town charm of Hollister. Some things should never change and A&W is one of them. One word of caution, A&W is pretty habit forming - I just finished my takeout and I'm already planning to go back tomorrow night 😅

We have moved to Hollister looking for a place to eat so we went to A&W took my grandson is 10 years old and he ate a Burger there at he says now forget McDonald's so we went there and took them again and the lady was so kind to give his meal for free since now I refuse to eat at McDonald's very sweet people there will always go there to eat and we really enjoyed the place and Hollister thank you for always taking care of me and my family

My grandson loves their French fries so when he wakes up from his nap we go for a walk to A&W get our ff and ketchup and go to the veteran's building where we sit outside and enjoy them . They seem to always be fresh and hot

Love A&W root beer . It's still an extra special treat when you have a float. They have a great special purchase lunch of cheeseburger and rootbeer float for $5.50. Sweet. Others items are also on this special order menu.

The white Cheddar Cheese Curds are so delicious and addictive but make sure you eat them while hot. Always a favorite are the Corn Dog Bites, Coney Chili Dog, Burrito and the Root Beer Freeze‼👍🏼

Our mom and dad used to take us as small children...its just as i remember it. Small town feel...root beer float just as tastey. Parking is limited but worth waiting for.

This A&W location is possibly the best in the whole chain, and easily has the best fast food burgers or chicken tenders in Hollister. The only negative thing I can say about them is sometimes it takes a while to get your order, but your food is always freshly prepared so it is a worthwhile trade.

There was really great service here. The cashier "Diamond" is fairly new employee and got my exact order correctly and was very nice young lady.. We enjoyed the delicious food outside on a beautiful warm day. Definitely recommend eating out here to anyone.

A little A&W gem hidden in the middle of an industrial area, in Hollister California. If you're in the area you have to stop here. It's worth the short detour!! When we arrived, at approximately 4:00pm, there was no one else there. First thing we noticed: The outdoor eating area was very clean! The gentleman that helped us has been working there for 17 years. He was great! As we waited for our order more people began to arrive. Before we knew it, there was over half a dozen cars filled with hungry customers filling the tiny parking lot! I don't usually eat Fish and chips at A&W but it was suggested to me as one of our servers Favorites. It didn't disappoint. The fish was crisp, tasty and severed with a good tartar sauce. The french fries were so good that I actually are most of them- and I don't eat fries! Lol They were perfectly seasoned and not greasy at all and best of all the nice and crisp! I don't know about you but I hate wimpy, limp fries. You won't find any of those here! We all know that at A&W it's really all about the root beer though, right?! The root beer at this A&W did not disappoint!! I have visited a few A& W's in the last few years and this Root Beer it's one of the Best! While some A&W's make their root beer much too sweet, this one had a great root beer flavor without being overly sweet! Thanks again for a great lunch! PS: The gentleman that served us is a great asset to this business -he is great with customers and seems to really enjoy what he does. If I had a restaurant I would hire him!

While I'm not a fan of outside dining, this place always has a fantastic burger, fries and ice cream. Solid 5/5 for the good food.

I remember going there when I was a kid and how good the food was! Mama Burger, Pappa burger and the chili dog was one of my favorites.And to top it off you can't beat A&W rootbeer. Memory Lane was the experience for me.5 Stars 🤩

The food is always prepared fresh and is always delicious. Their customer service is even better, Cesar and the owner Monte are both kind and warm and always remember me, and my boyfriend by name as well as our orders. Service is fast and the dining area is always clean. The team here never disappoints.

I was in the drive thru. Everything was all you would expect from fast food:. Clean, fresh, friendly, french fries were crispy and easy to eat. They didn't chock me up like McDonalds fries. McDonalds fries, even small amounts .., get stuck in my esophagus. Lol. So I was glad these from A&W were fresh. :)

Burger was fine but the float was really yummy and so were the fries. It was nice eating in the car park.

The staff were friendly and helped us save money on a combo. We liked the dill pickle cheese curds and the strawberry milkshake very much. And of course, the classic A&W rootbeer was heaven. Tables were clean, might need to add a bit more lighting in the dining area.

Real Hollisterites know ball, and A&Ws is a prime example. It's fast, cheap, solid fast food, with more variety than your average spot. Burgers, chicken, hot dogs, fries, cheese curds, chili, etcetera. The floats and cream freezes go nuts!

It's been a long time since we went to a fast food joint that made the calories totally worth it. The fries were made to perfection, root beer float was perfect, and hamburger while not amazing was fresh and juicy. We tried the dill pickle cheese curds and they were surprisingly good. We just had cheese curds a few times in Wisconsin and those were not as good as the ones we had here. Thanks for making fast food like I remember it!

Passing through Haulasster. Found the A & W, Hole in the wall place, just like I like them! Classic house made Root Beer, takes me back to childhood! I behaved and ordered a small even though I wanted a large Root Beer :) Had the Chicken Sliders, order comes with two small sandwiches. The chicken was moist, fluffy and fresh! I had to wait about 10-min but it was well worth it! The mgr/owner, really nice gent. Next time passing through, will stop by for sure.

We LOVED this! Got two papa burgers, fresh toppings, juicy patty, soft bun. The fries were very nice and crispy, and the onion rings were ultra crunchy. Best of any fast food places we’ve been too! The dill pickle cheese curds were had a nice light tang and flavor. Everything came out warm/hot and fresh! The root beer floats were amazing as well! Classically good A&W quality root beer and creamy cold vanilla ice cream! The server was chill. There were not many customers around, but the place wasn’t empty. Overall great experience!

I didnt have the food from here but I did go order and wait for the order. The lady was quick to get everyone's orders and turn around to get the food out was good. Didn't have to wait long even though there were at least 4 people who ordered right before I did. The girlfriend liked her corn dog bites and fries. She said the bread to hotdog ratio was good.

Classic old establishment. The food was hot, fresh, and very delicious. I had the #1 on the menu which is Papa Bear burger with everything on it. A corny cheese chili dog by itself. The cheese was gooey, the chili hot, the bun was soft and the hot dog cooked perfectly. The fries were just ok but it did not make the meal any less delicious. Service was prompt and an excellent experience.

This is my new "go to" place! I ordered two different kinds of hot dogs, cheese curds, fries and an A&W Root beer float. I am picky about fries and these were great! Food was PERFECT! Buns were soft and warm. The entire meal was obviously made with love! The service was pleasant and professional. She answered my questions accurately and friendily. Place looked tidy and clean inside and out. Price was good. I can't wait to come here again!! Please don't close this restaurant!! Update: Came here about three more times since first review. Original bacon cheese burger is to die for. No exaggeration, it was the best burger of my life. Each item on the burger was perfect. Soft serve ice cream is creamy perfection! Plenty of parking as well and you can hear them call your number from inside your car if you don't want to sit at tables outside. Still clean and tidy and runs like a very well oiled machine!! Yummy!!

Never had A&W for years, and first time trying it here in the U.S. Surprising french fries was cooked really good. Super crispy but not burnt. The chili dog paired with root beer was awesome. Outdoor dining or eat in your car option. Good options during the pandemic.

Pleasantly surprised! When you go to a fast food joint right before closing, you expect to get stale fries and soggy produce, but everything here was not only cooked to perfection, but the veggies were extremely crisp and fresh. The fries were straight out of the fryer and just lightly salted. The icing on the cake was the super friendly and considerate service by the two working behind the counter. I don't live in the area, but next time I'm passing through and need some late night eats, I'll stop by again.

Can only give it a 4 because the seating area is not enclosed from the outdoor elements. Food is great and service is moderately on pace to get your order.

Best chili dog in town. Classic early fast food like Papa burgers, Teen burger, shrimp & fries, chicken-n-fries ..mixed with new foods, cheese curds, chicken sandwich, good onion rings. Classic root beer still tastes like it did way back when I was a teenager!!! Still a bargin price with good old rock n rock always playing.....

Food was good for a fast food take out place. Servers were nice and doing the best they could. You can tell they were under staffed, but still had a pleasant attitude which I greatly appreciate always. Would go again.

They still have the best fast-food burgers in Hollister. Their fries are super tasty, too. You have to eat outdoors near the Cannery, but as long as you're okay with that, you won't be disappointed. It seems to take them a little long in the food prep, so I wouldn't recommend this spot if you're in a hurry.

Solid burgers and frys at a fair price. Parking options are good and it has a small amount of outdoor only seating that is covered. The two girls working the evening I visited were extremely friendly and my order was ready pretty quickly for such a small staff. The Papa burger was really good and the chilli cheese fries were good but not great.

Nice place great food if you like chilli but the staff seems as if they hate their jobs don't want to be there n take their sweet time to do anything. What ever happened to service with a smile come on Hollister we can take care of our employees better n hold them to a higher standard or an old school standard.

Ordered a medium A&W Root Beer soda. The carbonation was semi flat. Almost tasted like the old diet sodas in the beginning stages. Will not return.

Very disappointed. Music was so loud the order was messed up. And was cheated out of my change. Kept telling the boy could not hear over the music. 2 customers later it was finally turned down. Complained and was given half of what should had been my full change. What food we got was good is about only thing positive for the service.

It took 4ever for my simple food order to be done (2 shakes & a burger & onion rings). I was the first person in line but it took like 5 minutes it seemed for the guy to finally take my order? But I think he may have been placing online orders? Other than that it was ok... But I m definitely not going back there any time soon...

Usually you get the order right but today you gave me two plain coney dogs with only the chilli...I ordered them with everything on it including the CHEESE which I told the person at the register!!!...Very disappointing as I could not enjoy my meal as I usually do. Too bad ...will think twice about going there any time soon.

Place is a rip off came here and tried to use a coupon and they said that the system isn't accepting them. I'm sure they can manually over ride the price to honor the coupon.

The food taste like dirty oil, Which is why they need to change it more frequently, sometimes you get lucky and it's pretty good.

Deserves NO STARS. I order the Cod Slide Combo, then tried to give me my order with no Cole slaw. When asked where's my coles slaw, they did have any. I paid full price and all they were willing to do is give 1 extra tartar sauce. Said there tartar sauce was the same price as Cole slaw. These owners are cheap n will rip you at any moment. I warning everyone, don't go there or you will regret it.

Uuhmm.. If a&w is the name of the restaurant do not have watered down flat root beer. Fries were not phresh stale and hard in fact.. Burger was a frozen paddy microwaved

I didn't get what I ordered. I was told that they were out of root beer and had to wait while they made it. My burger was cold and the patty was so thin it was falling apart. Don't eat the fries! Talk about SALTY, I had to toss them between a paper towel so I could knock off some of the salt. The only item that was good was the root beer. You can't mess that up. I was robbed...my meal was not worth the $21+ dollars that I paid. I definitely won't return there!

Its a below average place to eat. The bathrooms don't look to be cleaned, I walked around the back and took a peek at the kitchen; no gloves, not even hair nets being worn, even the boss had a beard with no net. Flies inside the kitchen while the food is uncovered. You can get a peek in the back door from behind the kitchen It would be nice to see this replaced with a new building, sucks to see this hasn't been renovated yet to keep up to code. I reconsidered my chili cheese fries after a few bites and tossed them.
