Opinions de El Rinconcito Hollister
I ordered the shredded beef enchiladas it was very good. Good service, good food also the cocktails are very good I recommend the watermelon margarita.
The food was really good, the drinks were fun and the settings was really great. We will come back again :-) It has a really nice selection for food and drinks
Great food, atmosphere. Went with a party of 20 with no issues. Will be back again. Highly recommend anything on the menu. ;)
Too be honest I was really hesitant at first. The last time I went was about 8 years ago and it was horrible. I'm so glad I gave it another try. Not sure if it's new owners or cooks but it was amazing. I had the garlic shrimp and it was the best I ever had. Can't wait to go back to try the whole tilapia. My husband is always looking for chicken mole and can never find a good one in town but he finally did here. The girl that helped us was very kind and great at her job😊 we will definitely be back for date night.
Quality, consistency and service plus down home cooking. Pleasantly surprised. I will go back again and again.
Such good food! They also have the best salsa!
A friend told me about this place. Said the Chili Rellenos were the best. She was right. So if you want a really good meal, good conversation with family and friends - eat here. If you want fast food- go somewhere else.
Food delicious but changed menu, price increase and won't split bill, so be prepared if you go in with larger party.
Don't tell anyone this is my new favorite favorite restaurant in town.
My friends and I go here quite often for their lunch specials. The portions are bigger than you would expect and priced just right. Love the enchiladas.
OMG 😳😸 I haven't been to a place where I have enjoyed my meal so much El Rinconcito is the best place in Hollister to go eat Mexican food 🥑🥝 real Mexican food...... I loved it and you will too!!!!!
Way better than any Mexican food I've had near home. We'll be back, this place was so damn good.
I just recently found this place, and i had to go back the next day because I love the food! The combo plate is my favorite, especially the chavela!! Honestly best chavela, with the orange juice & lemon juice!! Birria was filling and delicious
Enormous burrito, great taste. Very smooth on the way down. If you're looking for a great value that won't upset your stomach this is the place for you! The outside seating area is well done as well.
Customer Service is always awesome.. stopped by to have a cold drink. Their Cavelas are always consistent as far as the making.. Love it! Happy Customer..
Definitely better than average Mexican food with good quality and flavor. The mole was spicy but not too spicy and even the rice and refried beans were noticeably above average. They're in the corner of the strip mall at 191 San Felipe Rd. I'm putting this place into my contacts list for the next time we're at Pinnacles.
I enjoy this place so much! Great service and food. I really like going there. The ladies are funny and always so attentive.
First time trying this little gem. It was delish! Food is fresh trastes great and the cantarito was on point. Clean and service was great.
Loved the food. They have authentication agua de horchata, which they make from scratch (not the store bought powders). I had the camarones a la diabla, and they were actually spicy and cooked perfectly. In my opinion, these are hands down the best camarones a la diabla that I’ve had at any Mexican restaurant. I’ve had camarones a la diabla at many other “authentic” Mexican restaurants, and they are always sweet or the sauce tastes like it came straight out of a can. However, these were very tasty and had the right amount of spiciness 🌶. Definitely recommend this restaurant!

Best food, my favorite plate enchiladas. It's so worth the drive from Salinas. I recommend this place 👌
This is probably the best Mexican food I've ever had. All 4 dishes the family ordered were both get reasonablr priced but also delicious. Even the mojito was good. So nice to actually be pleasantly impressed by a restaurant's quality.
This is one of the hidden jams inside of Hollister for Mexican foodd. I’ve driving by, here but never found it because it’s tucked in the corner of a plaza. They have combination plates, one item two, item 3 item for very affordable prices. I got two cheese enchiladas and a chili telleno and it was perfect.
Staff was super nice to me and my family. I was there with my new born and it was too hot to be outside so they let me have a table inside to help. Always check on us and asked if we needed anything else. The food was really good.
From the moment I walked in, I could sense a vibrant atmosphere and an inviting ambiance. The staff was friendly and attentive, they provided recommendations and answered certain questions I had about the menu. With flavorful dishes and excellent service, it quickly became a favorite of mine I look forward to returning.

Decent Mexican food. I usually order the mocajete with a chelada, wifey orders either the fijitas or or asada plate. Would recommend if your craving Mexican food for the day.
Love the food, service usually quick unless busy.
Service is great and the food was good too. I had the Chile relleno and also the steak ranchero, wish they used fresh tomatoes for the sauce but overall it was delicious food and the price is nice too!
Food was super good, and quick. Our last meal in town before moving out. Wished we had found this place before. Will definitely come back.
Really enjoyed there chimichanga, rice & beans are prepared nicely. Wet burritos are delicious. Recommend Carne Asada. So far all meals have been winner's
Food was outstanding! Delicious, flavorful, and authentic. Good portions, nice atmosphere, and service was amazing. The only thing I have to complain about is the price. They are on the high end for prices. Overall I would come again on special occasions.

The food is good. Very good portions. The food takes a long time to be served, but the staff is friendly

Good food and very generous serving sizes. Waitresses are very friendly and frequently check on your table for anything you might need. You get Chips and Salsa while you wait, could be a little more tasty, just a little more zing, spiceynesss but is still good. I'll be going again for sure. Music isn't too loud nor annoying, a good spot for business meets or take the family.
Great food, somewhat pricey. Will charge extra for things like lemon. extra refills. Don't go as much now.
The salsa was very good the tacos were good but not worthy 2.50 each. And the kids quesadilla with rice was 5.99 again pricey. Will not be going back.
Food was edible. No flavor. The shrimp cocktail was the best thing for the price. There are hardly any chips in the already small bowl, and they charge for more chips. Horchata was $8 and no refills. If they gave refills on sodas, we wouldn't know because the waitress never gave one or asked if we wanted one. When I see Authentic in the name of Mexican food, I expect spicy, busting with flavor. At least the jalapeño didn't disappoint me. Spend $100 on 3. Probably won't be back. But that just me. Staff was friendly, just not very engaged, and the place wasn't that busy. Now I think I know why.
First of all my first time being here it wasn't to to busy, but took a little while for the food to get to us. The customer service was great, the lady serving us was really polite. For all the food dishes I find it kinda pricey. This place doesn't seem to to dirty, overall pretty clean.

Today we ordered set for over an hour no food this is the second time never going back .2 stars the food is good if it makes it to table
I would give this place a 2.5. I don't hate it but they need some help. I ordered a breakfast burrito with bacon and got 3 small pieces of bacon inside. My daughter did not eat hers so I ended up using her bacon from her kid waffle plate. The waffles were stale and looked like they had freezer burn. My daughter didn't finish them. My husband likes their huevo con nopales which is why we keep going back. But if it was for me, I would rather eat somewhere else.
I would give 5 stars for food. However...I will give 0 for service. 2 servers behind desk making fun of me most likely because I have pink tints in hair. The food was great but wont return
For the quality and quantity of the food you get, the price is a bit high. We have gotten a better quality for a lot less at another restruant in town. There is also not much in the area of variety and tatse. Pretty bland. Almost like you got it from a tv dinner or slightly higher.
Charged 30$ for a drink, guacamole, and a tortilla. It was a series of charges without names so didn't realize until looking up later it was an overcharge. Very disappointing
This place is HORRIFIC. Read this before dining here. I'll explain why we have vowed to NEVER return. We have eaten here a dozen times in the last year. It started out decent enough to come back. But slowly, it's been getting worse and worse. We have always had horrific service here for dinner. Forget getting a refill on your water or getting a refill of chips and salsa. They "forget" every time. There have been times that we have had to ask for a refill on water four times before actually getting it. They are never extremely busy and by the time you finish this review, you'll understand why. The food is decent, when you receive what you are looking for. Vegan here: we do have to customize our options, which require a little more attention to detail from the cooks. I ordered a burrito, my wife ordered the loaded nachos. My burrito was simple: meat, rice and beans. I asked for it without the most expensive ingredients, meat and just for good measure, I also ask for no-cheese and no sour cream. My wife's loaded nachos come with meat, cheese, beans and guacamole. She asked for it without cheese, without meat, and no sour cream. She even asked if she could substitute out the meat for rice instead? No. That would be an additional $6. So no rice it was. What we received...... a plate of chips covered in cheese. My wife simply told the waitress that she asked for the loaded nachos without cheese and she argued back to tell her that loaded nachos were not even on the menu, which of coarse she verified with a menu and discovered that they were. Ultimately, she was able to receive what was ordered. What I received was a burrito full of beans and rice. Or so I thought..... until the 2nd bite where it was full of cheese. Okay, no big deal, they swapped it out and got me a burrito full of beans with very little rice. It was decent, no complaints but nothing to write home about for $11. What happened next is what made us say that we will NEVER return to this place, EVER. As we were sitting there, the teenage lady sitting right behind us began to throw up. It started with one. Then it happened again and almost seemed like it just wouldn't stop. All over the table, the floor, it was everywhere! For the record, they had just entered, so it wasn't caused by the restaurant by any means but how the restaurant handled it was beyond disgusting. They made the mother clean it up with napkins. They wouldn't clean it up. It took the mom 15 minutes, while others were still eating just a few feet away. This was not a mess for a napkin. It required multiple mops and bleach. The servers just hung around in the kitchen until the mess was cleaned up by the mom. No sanitation at all. That made us think about what other "accidents" happened on the table we ate at before, and around the restaurant. If they are not sanitizing the entire area with patrons present, how much less are they doing when nobody is watching? This place is on our "UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES" will we return. If you're thinking about Mexican food, please try any of the other 60 Mexican restaurants in town. La Villa De Jerez seems like a good option if you're looking for a recommendation.
Sad, to write such poor review. The food here is good. I been coming here for 4 years now. If you are ready to blindly pay for a bill with out any explanation, this is your place. Something about this doesn’t sit well with me. Based on my own calculation, which I had to guesstimate because I was not given a detailed receipt, goes as follows: Reg Breakfast Burritos: $6.50 Side of Rice and Beans: $8 1 Chicken Sope: $4- update actual cost $6 Large horchata: $6 Total of my bill: $26 Based on the food portions, the prices are not reasonable. Unfortunately, I can not post a picture of the beans and rice side. I can guarantee you it is not $8 worth.
Used to love this place but now the prices are getting high and the serving size is small. We always get just the machaca and eggs not the plate and they would charge us less since we weren’t getting all the fixings and they would fill the box full! Now it’s half full and they charge us the full price for everything. Not worth $13 by any means.
My $10 breakfast burrito might as well been a bean burrito. Mostly beans and no flavor. The only thing that saved the day was the red hot sauce that came with it. I do not recommend.
Called in a order. Told me the price went to pickup. Was lied to since they did not have ham but let me order it. Even though they had been out for 2 days per one of the employees. All the employees were rude. Twice the price of across the street so went there instead and the people there are much nicer.
Terrible service if you could even call it service. We recieved our drinks 12 minutes after ordering them and never saw our waitress again after that for over 30 minutes. We had to get our own 2nd round of waters. After requesting a new waitress Noone showed. Yes it's Father's day, but there is only 2 other patio tables being served. We do not reccomend coming here unless you have 5 hrs to wait for mediocre food.
Had to update my review from below, that was 6 years ago. The servers still the same, no connection with the customers. She brought all 3 plates and did not bring the 4th. Called her to the table so many times, and she kept going back and to other tables. She didn't take the last order until 15 min later and dared to say we came last. I've been really coming her for convenience, but one person really kills the atmosphere there, and that's the older lady with curly hair in a bun...... ..... ....Food is delicious. Service is not best not once did the ladies stop by my table to ask if we were doing good and obviously we needed something . Do NOT eat outside lots of flies cant even eat comfortable, and it smells like fish? Anyway, it has a family environment and a super tranquil good menu. I would definitely come back.
