This is my favorite southern Thai restaurant!! The staff are very friendly, welcoming and gives a great service. I love running into one of the owners, Sugar, she is so sweet; hence her name Sugar!! I hadn't met her aunt, Jazz, as of yet, but seen her many times online and she has great spirits of the foods they offer. Come try them out, you won't be disappointed and will come back for more!! Highly recommended!! 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 stars for delicious food and excellent service!!
This is a very popular place both with locals and visitors to LA. They offer a wide variety of authentic Southern Thai dishes that you'll be planning your next visit before leaving. The food is awesome! Being popular means extremely busy. The staff is friendly and accommodating but expect to wait to get seated and served. The food is definitely worth the wait. Parking can be tough on the lot during busy times and may be available on the adjacent streets if you're lucky.
There are no words in the English dictionary that quite capture my enthusiasm for this restaurant and the food that they serve. Every bite is the best bite. I am forced to clear my plate past the point of being full because it would be a sin to leave the incredible flavors behind. The crispy morning glory salad is the most perfect bite. The cow man kai rice dish looks like nothing special, but the flavors in the broth are so beautiful and complex that it may be my new favorite dish here. To end the meal, there is nothing better than a sweet spoonful of mango sticky rice. The waiters are kind and attentive, and if you time it right, you can sneak in without a wait. I can’t recommend this place enough.
Jitlada is a small gem on restaurant in Thai Town, LA which has few authentic Thai dishes. Their Pamelo salad is definitely a must try. Nice an cozy little place you don’t want to miss. I was there will my family and we all enjoyed all the dishes ordered and the server are very helpful.
Fantastic Thai restaurant that has been visited by tons of celebrities and won many awards. The menu is gigantic with hundreds of items. Everything is packed with flavor and very fresh with big portions too. The interior is big and has lots of decorations. Staff are friendly and helpful with recommendations on the menu.
Finally had the chance to visit Jitlada for dinner, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The vibe is laid-back and unpretentious — exactly what I was hoping for. The staff were friendly, fast, and warm, but what really stood out was Jazz, the owner. She personally greeted every table, making sure guests felt welcome and cared for. When she stopped by mine, she shared the story of how she brought Southern Thai flavors to Hollywood — a refreshing shift from the more common Northern Thai fare. I told her I wouldn’t bother her with the usual “what do you recommend?” and instead asked her to bring what she loves and thinks I’d enjoy. She nailed it. To start, she sent over Crying Tiger (marinated sautéed beef in chili sauce) and Morning Glory Tiger Prawns (crispy Thai morning glory with prawns and a citrusy kick) — a perfect balance of heat, tang, and crunch. Absolutely delicious. For the main course, I had the Crab Meat Noodles and Green Curry — both packed with flavor, clearly made with fresh ingredients and care. I ended with Mango Sticky Rice, which tasted just like the ones I’ve had in Thailand — simple, comforting, and perfectly executed. Big thanks to Jazz for the thoughtful recommendations and warm hospitality. This small, bustling spot has earned a permanent spot on my go-to list. Highly recommend for anyone craving real Thai food with heart
We had dinner on a Saturday night. The place was packed and there was a long wait. They don't take reservations, but you can put your name on the waiting list at the front door. We ordered Pad See Ew, Crispy Morning Glory Salad, Combination Fried Rice (Jitlada) Tom Kha Soup, Stir-Fried Chinese Water Crest (Morning Glory) and Mixed Vegetables w/ Chicken. There was a bit of a wait after we ordered, but that's understandable with the restaurant so busy. The food was delicious and worth the wait!
Everything is excellent at this place. First time here and definitely a place to go back to. Got 2 chef’s special, sea bass and the sweet baby squids, better than I expected. Got the soft shell crab roll, freshly fried so yummy. Crying tiger which is marinated grilled beef with spicy sauce, excellent grilled beef, good favor and still juicy beef. Sweet crab claws is a must too. Tom yum soup with seafood, just right spicy level, yum-o!!!
Holy Thai Curry! Jitlada’s was an unexpected gem and a place I will highly recommend anyone and everyone go to for super legit, flavorful, authentic Thai and Southern Thai cuisine! I wish I had had more time and stomach space to order and eat more! We had the Papaya salad with fresh shrimp (will go for fresh blue crab next time!), the Spicy Seafood combination, the Green Curry with Pork (excellent) and, my favorite, the Frog Legs in spicy curry with eggplant. Yum! This was only lunch and we ordered 4 dishes off the 10-12 page menu! The food was spectacular, and I’ve eaten Thai food all over the world and all over LA! The service was fast and attentive, and you felt like you were transported from the tiny strip mall, to a family restaurant in Thailand. Definitely heading back there as soon as possible. First, gotta go eat more of the frog leg curry. If you like your Thai food spicy, this place will NOT let you down. I happily ate while my face melted off. It was fantastic.

One of the best Thai spots in LA. Want some authentic thai food. This is the spot to be. From Chicken Satay to any dish you order is going to be fresh, flavorful and fantastic. Would definitely recommend this place
JITLADA is a popular Thai restaurant that serve Southern style cuisine. It’s located in a small corner plaza in Sunset blvd and Kingsley avenue. They have a voluminous food and drink items on their menu. We came on a hot afternoon to grab some quick lunch. It was by random that we selected this Thai spot. We had Pad Woodsen. It tastes good with modest serving; nothing extraordinary compared to other Thai spots in LA. However, food prices are pricey. Some of LA’s known writers and actors have been into this place. You’ll see it hanged in their wall. Getting service staff was somewhat slow when we arrived at 2:20 pm. Food arrived on time. Staff were competent and friendly. Atmosphere was a bit loud due to constant chatter by customers. Parking in the plaza is limited. Overall, we had a nice lunch at Jitlada.
We had a meal for two people and ordered Crying Tiger beef, Khua Kling ground pork, and spicy and sour soup. Overall, the food was very delicious, and we truly enjoyed the flavors of each dish. Food: The taste was excellent; however, the Khua Kling had slightly too much sauce for our preference. Service: The service was generally good, but there was a small issue with our order. We requested ground pork, but sliced pork was served instead. We informed the staff afterward. Atmosphere: The atmosphere was acceptable, though the interior could use some improvement, as the walls appeared a bit dirty.
Jitlada. It was tough writing this review. I thoroughly enjoyed the food here, but to echo the issues that many other reviewers noted, the parking is atrocious, the place is cramped, the wait is unwarranted, and it requires way too much effort to flag someone down for an order (or to ask for the check). The service - some portion of which is out of control of the staff - is why this place earned 4 stars. We ordered: -Bangkok Duck - excellent taste, but at $24 I expected more duck to share with the group. -Crying Tiger Beef - tasty, fried, can't go wrong at $20 but wouldn't order again. -Thai Chili Soft-Shell Crab - tasty, fried, but not much crab at $26. -White rice - $2, good for 2 rice-eaters. We left semi-full. I think there are better Thai restaurants nearby that are less famous but provide a bit more value.
I came to check this place out because I heard it had really good reviews. It does get busy and there is a wait-list. Walking in the atmosphere was cool. Stuff on walls and it felt cozy. The service was great and the staff was friendly. The food itself was good but a bit on the pricey side and the portions were average. Did it taste good? Yes. Could I have gotten thai food that tastes like this for a lower price around the same area. Yes. This place does have a big menu though and alot of traditional Thai dishes that most places don't have so there's that. If you're adventurous with food this place is for you.
Food was decent and portion sizes were large, the waitress was helpful. I think it’s a personal preference but southern Thai curry is not to my taste, it’s also pretty spicy. The duck summer rolls were good and so were the vegetables. Pad see ew was decent as well (a little too salty). The pumpkin curry was the southern Thai curry dish that I didn’t really love. It had little flavor and it was just spicy (we got medium).
One of my wife’s favorite Thai restaurant. This place is incredible well known for their food being really spicy. I’d consider it a landmark as many celebrities endorse this place. Unfortunately the chef that started this restaurant passed away and now his wife and relatives are in the kitchen. The food is not as good but my wife still enjoys it. Their Thai tea is hands down one of the best Thai teas ever!!!

Jitlada isn't too bad, been around for years. I got the pad thai and ordered extra spicy but it wasn't spicy.. Was kinda disappointed. I asked them about why it's not spicy and they just told me to add more chili powder/flakes. Those aren't spicy and just have a bitter end taste. Pad see ew is ok too. If you're in the area, it's worth trying but not if you have to drive over 15 minutes.

I think social media has ruined restaurants and this place is proof of it. I understand Selena and Bennie Blanco had their first date here, but that’s no reason why you should too. I went on the notion that it was fantastic as it was getting a lot of attention on TikTok, only to leave with the impression that this might be the most average, or less than average Thai restaurant I’ve ever been to. Due to its popularity the parking was awful, the wait time after signing up on its clipboard sheet outside the restaurant was over 45 minutes, and the restaurant itself is very small and cramped. I ordered the Crying tiger beef, crispy catfish flake salad, tom Kah soup, and ox tail noodles. The only thing worth eating in those four dishes was the crying tiger beef, and the crispy catfish flake salad (which had very unripe mangoes). The soup you can find at any Thai restaurant, and the oxtail noodles were incredibly bland, my date was wondering if they may have forgot to season the oxtail. I considered sending them back, but didn’t want to deal with the service and honestly just leave as I was disappointed already. I also had a Thai iced tea and a Thai coffee, both had too much milk and barely any tea/coffee. I asked for napkins for my table, and the waiter must have literally counted two napkins instead of just grabbing a decent amount for the table. The restaurant is quite proud with itself, with who I assume are the owners, going around and asking if it’s delicious, and then stepping outside to see the horde of people waiting and overheard her say “ohhh a long wait, must mean the food is good!!” to which I rolled my eyes as I sat there disappointed. I attached pictures of all the dishes but if you can, find any other hole in the wall Thai restaurant (there’s thousands in LA) and avoid this mess.
Restaurant has extremely long wait times to start off with. Once you are seated, the time to even have your order taken is about 15-20 minutes, with the majority of the customers still waiting for an order. In my own opinion, the food has no flavor or seasoning with such high prices for extremely little portions. I came with a group of 4, each ordering a plate per person with drinks. It came out to a total of $170.00. I had the crab with fried rice, and my significant other had the spicy mango salmon. The salmon had the littlest portion, with mainly the meal consisting of the lettuce, onion, and mango. Meanwhile, my order number 223 on the menu displayed a large crab claw, but to my expectation, it was very small and disappointing, with a single tiny slice of lemon provided. Overall, the decoration was nice, and if they had more servers, I think the restaurant would flow smoother, but it has long wait times, and in my experience, the food has no seasoning, small portions, crab tasted like salt water due to no seasoning. Expensive for small portions.
The service was extremely poor. The staff had a bad attitude, didn't pay attention to customers, and made us feel unwelcome. This was one of the worst service experiences I've had.

Service was pretty bad. We were sat down and immediately handed water which is much appreciated. What was tough was trying to flag the same guy down and ended up ordering after 20 minutes of waiting. We ordered two items and only one arrived after one hour. It was a very average crab noodle plate. We waited another 30 minutes for the second plate that never showed. We asked the front desk and they reassured it was coming until I told them to cancel it and they immediately told them to NOT cook it. I knew they never even started. I paid for our one meal, and we left to another reliable restaurant because we were still hungry. Really disappointed that we wasted a lot of time.
