Fabulous experience! I don’t think of coming here for whatever reason, maybe it’s the location. But I really should! The drinks were amazing as was the food! The ambience is incredible as well, perhaps better than any local restaurant. So warm and inviting. I really got a “homey” vibe while eating here. Had the tuna tartare, firecracker shrimp, filet mignon sliders, and lobster roll. All were great! Service was fabulous. Better than the Polo Club in Manhattan, imho. Check it out!

Abby and Nicole were fantastic. Their food is reasonable and made well and well proportionate. The drinks were made well and the interior is super classy and warm. Definitely worth a visit. The petite filet minion 💕🔥. Second time visiting—overall, Friendly, clean, wholesome, and delicious

Outstanding dining experience. All of the dishes were well prepared, each carrying a unique taste. The calamari appetizer, not pictured, was well prepared with a reasonable portion. Perhaps the biggest surprise was the Togarashi crispy cauliflower. While not normally a fan of cauliflower, I have to admit this won me over. I could have had it for a meal. My wife raved about the land and see, and all of the meals were satisfying. If I would have one suggestion, it would be to add a bit more sauce to the linguine Bolognese. We were there on a Thursday night and there was plenty of parking. Service was excellent and the restaurant is nicely decorated. This is a remarkable facility for a special occasion.

First time here. What an experience from the aesthetics, the service, the food, all top notch. My new favorite place. Outside of my cousin Ray (who's on a diet) everyone had great portions. Angela was our server who gets a special nod in taking care of cousin Ray. Very nice time.

Phenomenal food and drinks! Light, crispy calamari; large pieces of lobster in creamy lobster bisque; unique, yummy Sugar cookie martini; scrumptious Halibut with beurre blanc sauce. New decor was pretty. Waitress was attentive and proactive (only negative, they had her running to both sides of the dining room despite a different waitress at the table next to us - they need to map out the waitress stations better).

This is my 4th time here I believe. The restaurant is beautiful inside and the staff very inviting. We went to dinner on a Saturday night, 7 of us. We went to the bar first to have a drink while we waited for the others in our group. We arrived at 7pm and the bar which is fairly large was packed. Barely an empty seat. I felt sorry for the bartender as it seemed she was the only one working. There were two others behind the bar, I’m not sure what they were doing, not serving that’s for sure. Anyhow, once everyone arrived and drinks in hand the waitress showed us to our table. We sat in the back this time. Actually it was perfect. We ordered a few bottles of Brunella wine, apps and main meal. For the table we got 2 different salads, crispy cauliflower, tuna tartare, octopus and sweet potato fries. All delicious. Our main meals were rack of lamb, shrimp (which were huge) filet mignon, NY strip steak and a fish dish. The two strip steaks were supposed to be cooked medium but were a bit undercooked for their liking, but an easy fix, they brought it back to the kitchen and a few minutes later it seemed they were back on the table and all was good. The food was delicious, they didn’t rush us out. And I will definitely be back. It wasn’t cheap. It ran us about $150 pp but then again we had 3 bottles of wine

We went to The Polo Club early on a Thursday evening. We were greeted warmly, and our coats were checked by the hostess. Being early, we were given our pick of where we wanted to sit. We chose the main dining room not far from the impressive open kitchen. The main bar was impressive, but we'll save that for another visit. Our waitress was very nice and attentive and took our drink orders quickly. I didn't have one but others in my party had Cosmopolitans which were excellent. Though they looked interesting, we skipped the small plate warm appetizers and split a Ceasar salad. It was a bit disappointing the dressing was not regular Ceasar, applied very lightly, and had a lemon base. Next time, we'd try another. For dinner, one party shared the 32 Oz Porterhouse, and we each chose 6oz filets. For sides, both fingerling and gratin potatoes were shared. Both choices of steak were excellent! They were cooked perfectly medium rare with a nice char on the outside and accompanied with a few slices of asparagus and a nice light steak sauce. Nothing but raves from all in our party for the dinner. Quite full, we skipped dessert and opted for a decaf coffee and a cappuccino. After dinner, the manager gave us a nice tour of all the seating areas, back bar, and wine cooler. Very impressive with lots of options for a different dining experience each time you visit. We'll be back.

I highly recommend The Polo Club. My friends and I stopped by for drinks last night and they were amazing! Took a look at the food menu and if we didn’t already have reservations I would absolutely eat here. I will be back again for food AND drinks. The atmosphere is fantastic, the interior is absolutely stunning. Very clean inside and well kept. They have 2 bar areas with ample seating in the front area. The bar in the back is smaller but there is a large sitting area with tables and leather chairs to sit, relax and enjoy outstandingly made drinks. In the center of it all is a large open kitchen where you can watch the team prepare meals. If you’re lucky enough to be there on a Friday or Saturday night and Chris is making your drinks you are in for a treat. He takes drink mixing seriously. Drinks are well balanced and flavorful, no overstuffing of ice and sugary juice mixes here. The staff is extremely attentive. If something isn’t right, they’ll fix it. If you’re looking for something new to try they’re right there with recommendations. Kudos to Chris and Ryan at the back bar you both made the experience wonderful! Excellent job on the blue cheese stuffed olives Ryan, they were outstanding! My friends and I will definitely be back!!

Wow, Food was excellent, and service was outstanding. They also substitute items within the menu for diet restrictions with ease. I had sushi, squash soup, 4oz. steak, with carrots and asparagus and shared chocolate lava cake. Everything was presented beautifully. It was alsoa restful dining. We took our time, and could converse hearing each other easily. Prices were reasonable for the meal

We planned my husband's surprise 60th Brunch this past weekend! My family and I love dining at the Polo Club. The atmosphere is elegant yet welcoming, with an upscale country club feel that makes for a great dining experience. The customer service is always top-notch—attentive, friendly, and professional. And the food? Absolutely fantastic! Every dish we’ve tried has been fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Whether you’re looking for a special night out or just a great meal in a refined setting, the Polo Club never disappoints. Highly recommend!

From when we entered till we left our experience was WONDERFUL. The restaurants decor is stately yet warm and inviting. The service is First Rate. Brandi our server is Outstanding, Friendly & Everything you would want. The staff is very accommodating and appreciative not like most of the restaurants that we have been to lately. Bill at the rear bar is very friendly. Our food was superb from appetizers to desserts. They have a main bar area with a huge fireplace & music last evening. We even stayed an hour after we paid the bill just talking & enjoying ourselves. You can actually have a conversation with your friends without screaming. Cannot say enough superlatives about this restaurant. Go experience for yourself. 👍👍👍👍👍

My wife and I have been here a multitude of times. The first time, we sat at a table and the service and food were top notch. So, we came back. Again and again. The only downside is you need to make reservations. However, we were told that you didn't need reservations to sit at the bar. Knowing this, The Polo Club which was previously Remington's was born! From the atmosphere, food and service, you can't go wrong. The Polo Club is a must! Danielle at the bar makes the best drinks from originals to spins on the classics. Combine the personality and skills of Danielle at the bar and the voice of George at the piano and you are in paradise. George is an entertainer from his instrumentals to singing Billy Joel, Sinatra and Phantom of the Opera and other showtunes. This is a must if you are ever in Holmdel! You won't be disappointed. Can't wait until next time!

Our first time here with friends for a birthday celebration and everything was great. The steak and the other main courses were delicious. Our waiter was very attentive and the manager came over at the end of the meal to check on how everything was. We will definitely return in the future. Don’t miss the red velvet cake… worth every calorie.

A Perfect Thanksgiving Experience We recently celebrated Thanksgiving at The Polo Club for a second year in a row and it was nothing short of fantastic. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by the beautiful classic decor that immediately gave a warm, homey feeling. It felt like stepping into a cozy family gathering rather than a typical restaurant. The food was extraordinary—truly reminiscent of a home-cooked Thanksgiving dinner, but even better! Each dish was flavorful and satisfying, capturing all the traditional tastes we love without the hassle of cleanup afterward. The drinks were equally impressive, perfectly complementing our meal and adding to the festive atmosphere. A special shoutout to our server, Pauline, whose kindness and impeccable service made our experience even more enjoyable. She attended to our needs with grace and made us feel welcomed throughout our visit. Overall, The Polo Club is a gem for anyone looking to enjoy a delicious Thanksgiving meal in a beautiful setting with excellent service. We can't wait to return!

We have dined here at least a dozen times over the past year as a couple & with friends. We have tried almost everything on the menu & have never been disappointed. We love the slower service rather than being rushed through dinner. The ambiance is relaxing especially with the fireplace burning in the winter. We can spend hrs chatting in this beautiful venue! 5 stars in every area! Keep it up!

Amazing night at the Polo Club Restaurant in Holmdel, NJ!! We had a surprise, Italian themed, birthday party for my dad and it was a smashing success thanks to the Polo Club staff and out-of-this-world food! Sophia, Brittany, Caitlyn, Dennis, and Laura made our family feel welcomed and well cared for! The service was EXCEPTIONAL and the food was beyond compare!! We will all be going back again!!

What a beautiful place. It's a well-rounded menu for all. Food is tasty. Just make sure the description of ingredients matches what you get. I prefer to cut my own meat, so ask about this. Some TVs are in the main bar and live music. There is a second bar that is quieter. My wife and I will be going back.

The Polo Club has a great vibe to it. Brick and brass... it just feels right. Service was terriffic and the food was great. Definitely a place to try!

The atmosphere is gorgeous, staff is friendly… The only problem is quality control. It’s either really good or just not up to par. This is a hit or miss situation, place is good and very elegant. Just need to start setting higher standards for sending food out. I would try it!

After many years of wanting to try this we went last night. Here are the highlights: Atmosphere, it’s very fitting to its name rich tones. Food was solid, steaks, lamb, Halibut cooked perfectly. Cocktails were also good. If you like Empress 1908 try the Polo 19 I asked for it on the rocks it was perfection. So why a 3 star. The service was so slow, delayed, and stressed. Keep in mind we had an 8:15 reservation, it was packed we were promptly sat at that time. Great table in front of the open kitchen. I could understand the delays in the beginning but by 9 that was over and we were still waiting a long time for drinks and water refill and finally the check to be picked up. My other challenge was very limited appetizer menu and dessert menus, no specials, no bread. Sadly our server seemed very overwhelmed and stressed out. We waited and waited for all the things but waiting for the check for 15 mins then another 15 minutes for him to take the check was a lot when the restaurant was empty. We tipped the minimum of 20% $82 but would have been $20 higher and another star had that not happened. I do not mind paying but I don’t see myself going back for that “special” meal which this was anytime soon.

Went early on a Wednesday evening with friends who had been there before. At their suggestion we went to the bar area to sit at a table. Before we sat down we were approached by a women asking if we had a reservation, which is unusual when going to a bar area of a restaurant. Then we were lectured that we should always call for a reservation, especially for Saturdays, but, this was Wednesday and the place was pretty empty. More than half the tables and half the bar remained empty the whole time we were there. Contrary to what other reviews said, our server, April, was prompt and pleasant. The table shared several shared small plates. They were served in a reasonable amount of time. The calamari was a nice amount and came with two sauces - a chili sauce and marinara - both were good. The pulled pork slider had good flavor but was a little dry and not hot. The chicken slider was dry and overcooked. The southwestern style corn was delivered late, not very warm, but, had good flavor. My pre-meal drink, a whiskey sour, was well made. The restaurant is decorated as you would think a polo club should be. The prices are very high for the amount and quality of food, but, I imagine that is to pay off the decor. It is unlikely I will be returning despite the nice time I had.

Came here for Valentine's Day looking forward to the meal, and was sadly very disappointed. Our meals came out over an hour after being seated, luke warm and extremely overcooked. Many tables around us were also having similar issues, and we could hear a lot of complaints. For the price that you pay for the meal, this food definitely needed to be better than it was. It is important to note however that they gave us free dessert and apologized for both the long wait, and the food not being good. It was appreciated they tried to make good on the disappointing night, but this is not a place I would come back and eat at again.

Went there Saturday for the 3rd time love the restaurant it self. Reservations were at 7:30 did not get my settings and drinks till 8:00 had lobster tail special was overcooked 3 of out of 4 dinners I give a 5. Love the atmosphere but trying to make it work . But not going back foe awhile . Sorry

Just got back from mother day dinner and could not be more disappointed . They sat us in bar, next to piano when open tables abounded. Food came out cold, wait staff only marginally competent, never came to ask if we needed another cocktail after first drink and never received bread with our meal. Final straw. They had a bucket of white roses being passed out ostensibly to all women and we were not given any although had two women in our group. Complete lack of concern and proper service despite some white haired gentlemen coming over to see how things were, early. Should have come over after dinner to alert him to how the restaurant is not good and we will not be back and advise our friends of the bad experience we had.

We came here a few months ago and it was great. Food and service were excellent. Came back today and were disappointed. I ordered a buttermilk chicken burger after the server gave me a hard time about ordering it but said they would make it and was served a very dry and cold grilled chicken sandwich that they wouldn’t let me send back. On top of that the fries were cold and not especially good. Several of us ordered burgers which were great the first time we went and are served with bacon. There was literally a one inch strip of bacon on the burgers. We told the the server and at least he brought us extra bacon. Which was cold. The best part was someone came around to ask how our meal was and didn’t care about our response. After who we thought was a manager or owner walked away we wondered whether he was another diner just being friendly. The whole experience was so absurd all we could do was laugh. We live in the area and were hoping this would be a new go to spot but we’ll keep looking. At least the experience was comical.

Had dinner and drinks there last night with a friend. For a high-end restaurant like Polo, we found it pretty tacky to charge customers per piece of additional bread when we asked for them. Disappointed!

I try my best to like this place, beautiful restaurant But service is so poorly organized and it will be a harder to go back again. Prices don't match the service.

Came here when the place was not busy. Waited 1 hour 30 for appetizers, soup came cold and had to send it back. Waited another two hours for food to arrive and most of the party hated it. Food tasted stale, bland, and lots of plates were still cold and we had no energy left to ask for a reheat. The waitress kept forgetting to give us our drinks and plates and we had to remind her. She later chased us out because she thought we did not tip enough. This place used to be amazing until the chef changed. One year ago was an entirely different experience. I ordered the same exact meal and it went down to diner standard. My meal was so soggy and there was a literal pool of water around my mashed potatoes and salmon (you can see it in the pictures.) We will not ever be coming back. Way too expensive for the quality of food. Prices went up, quality down. Such a shame because the atmosphere is great.

Went there for our anniversary and was offered a glass of what tasted like flat day old Prosecco . The Food was best described as atrocious. Sad because the restaurant is beautiful and has so much potential. We Ordered the grilled octopus which was served with mayo squeezed all over it . Same with the Greek bronzino no seasoning just a mayo drizzle. The duck we ordered came to the table and looked beautiful however there was zero seasoning , was rare, and tougher than any other duck I have ever had sadly. Only thing that was enjoyable was the dessert and the martini one of the waitresses made after dinner and was served at the back lounge.

Wow. This place is truly awful. I never leave reviews. But my entire experience was so unbelievable horrible I feel it’s my responsibility to warn people to stay away. First of all the parking lot is in complete disrepair. We arrived promptly for our 7:30 reservation, and were told it would be a 20 minute wait. No problem, we decided to get a drink at the bar to wait. The bartenders are very talented. My polo pear cocktail was phenomenal. (This was early on in the evening, I was still optimistic.) We were finally seated at 8:00 which was fine. We were offered complimentary bread (which never came). Our order was taken at 8:15. The table next to us was seated, their order was taken (they were informed that they were out of lobster bisque), and their appetizers arrived. 45 minutes later we were told that they were out of lobster bisque, “the kitchen literally just told her a minute ago,” and our appetizer would be out in a minute. So clearly our waitress forgot to put our order in. When the lobster Mac and cheese finally arrived there wasn’t a single piece of lobster. Our entrees arrived at 9:35. The risotto was crunchy but the scallops were tasty. We had to send the Parmesan fries back because they literally tasted like they had been sitting in the back of the freezer for 3 years. We were offered complimentary dessert for our troubles but by this time it was 10pm and I didn’t have another hour to wait for an undoubtedly mediocre dessert. The bathrooms were revolting. It looked like they hadn’t been tended to in days. Which may be why as we were leaving the restaurant we came across a middle aged man relieving himself for all the world to see. Perhaps he was unhappy with the service as well and decided to take it out on a parking lot shrub.

This place has gone downhill very fast. The food has gone downhill and the prices have gone uphill. First the portions of the food have gone down and the food is dumped with salt. Second the prices have been raised by over 20 percent. Third the service is hit or miss. The main dining area service is pretty good. The bar service is painfully slow. The bald bartender is a zombie who has no people skills. I have no idea how he still has a job there. Must know the owner or something. The decor is really nice and upscale. Now if only they could bring back the food quality and the service they had when they first opened - that would be great.

L

Took a friend here to celebrate his success and feel awful this is the place i picked! The service leaves a lot to be desired. The food is tasteless. Drinks and dessert were only positives. We got a Tomahawk steak and there was barely any meat or flavor and the price was honestly outrageous! I have wanted to try this place for a long time but this was my first and last time. Feel awful because my guests didn't enjoy their food at all. Also brought home leftover lobster mac n cheese for kids and they didn't even want it. Didn’t see any lobster nor taste any cheese; we threw it out.

This place was such a Nightmare I was waiting for Freddy Krueger to show up. We had been there last Christmas Eve and it was not very good..but..what the heck give them another chance.... We sat down at 6:30 pm The 5 of us happened to all order the Halibut. Several hours later we were told they didnt have any Halibut..Yes..I'm serious..!! My brother and his wife were so disgusted they decided to cancel their dinner orders. But the rest of us were hungry so we ordered the Salmon...15 minutes later the waitress comes back and says.."Oh wait we Do have Hailbut..do you still want it.".? . I mean what the...!! So they finally bring us the Halibut and it was awful..like eating a piece of rubber...Then the waitress comes by again..knocks over the Ice bucket..now there is ice cubes and water everywhere..Never sends anyone to clean it...So I cleaned it up..It was now 10 pm and the waitress wanted to give us a free dessert..But all we wanted to do was get out of there..A Real Heartburn Horror Show for Christmas Eve...!!!

Beautiful restaurant, but thats about it. First sign there was going to be an issue was the separate sushi menu they had on the table, always a red flag in such a restaurant. The table bread was the same you get in a grocery store where you microwave warm… cocktail glass was filthy, not dirty, filthy (black crud)…appetizers came and i would compare to what you would receive in TGI Fridays. At that point we ate what we could , cancelled the entrees, paid the bill and left.

Just went to the Polo Club for dinner with my family. To say that dinner was a disappointment is an understatement. My husband ordered the french onion soup and within a few bites he said… “where’s the soup?” There was absolutely no broth, it was a piece of bread, topped with cheese, and onions on the bottom - driest soup I’ve ever seen! I ordered the lobster mac and cheese appetizer as my meal. As I kept eating my meal, I noticed the lobster was very pink and fibrous - it wasn’t lobster but salmon. I told the waitress this is not lobster and how I was completely grossed out. She apologized, took it away only to come back to me and tell me that the chef “wasn’t able to fit the entire lobster in the pasta” and that the meat was “minced together”. Number one… the lobster mac and cheese was ONLY $16, so they wouldn’t put an entire lobster in the mac and cheese (which was only the size of a croc), if so, that’s the best ever lobster deal I’ve ever heard of in my life ($16 for an entire lobster?!) Number two, the “lobster” in my meal was clearly pink - I’ve never seen pink lobster before ever. Sure there’s a tinge on the meat, but this was salmon pink. Number three, I’ve never seen lobster in an organized rectangle before. It’s usually not uniform and in chunks, not fibrous and pull apart. The waitress took the mac and cheese off the tab, but the entire bill was still $290. Additionally (and I’m not exaggerating), we heard her apologize to EVERY single table in our vicinity - I think she was serving 6 tables, each of which had some type of issue. I will never go back, so disgusting.

J
Justin Gazi

Service very slow and inattentive. Food poor to mediocre. "Lobster" in the lobster Mac n cheese was clearly a pink flaky fish. After noted to the server, she inspected and agreed... Only to bring the dish it back to the table to say they the chef confirmed it was lobster. It was still clearly fish. Complete insult. Never again.

where do i begin. 7:00 reservation. host sat us in wrong section and asked us to move. waitress didn't come by for 15 minutes. proceeded to not know her own menu. i had to remind the waitress about my beer that i ordered from the very beginning. appetizers came out WRONG at 8:45, she apologized and said the chef cut his hand and had to go to the hospital... then she forgets my second drink and i again had to remind her. did the bartender cut his hand too? you know it’s bad when we began talking to other tables about how bad the service was. this place is a disaster from front of house to back of house, stay away.
