I visited Maple Street Biscuit Company with a friend and we tried some of their chicken biscuits. I got the farmer with a side of kettle chips and my friend got the Five & Dime. All the food was so good and the kettle chips were freshly cooked (I was expecting a bag of kettle chips). All in all i would highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast/brunch and I would definitely come back to try more!
This is probably one of the best places to get an excellent and delicious meal at a super reasonable price. The staff here are always cheery and fun to talk to and the overall atmosphere is really great. You can tell Raven, the manager, cares about creating a welcoming environment and an awesome experience, I have never had anything that was not delicious and I always have a good morning when I come here.
Raven and her team were so kind and helpful!!! I felt welcomed and appreciated as the customer and the food was MAGNIFICENT. It tasted so delicious and a small potion made me feel full and satisfied. You can taste how natural the food is for sure. :)
I was welcomed by Shamar who was very pleasant and professional accommodating the order for me and my daughter. Shamar even came over to check on us midway through our dining. My daughter loved her chocolate, waffle, and thick bacon. My breakfast bowl was a little bit salty but other than that, it was fine. I really enjoyed the staff and especially Shamar, and we will definitely be back. -Steve
We were suggested this place by family while visiting from Los Angeles. This place exceeded my expectations. The location is nice, the store was clean, and the staff were super fun and polite. I ordered the farmer and toffee nut latte (It's so hard finding a good place with toffee nut!), and my partner got the biscuits and gravy covered in eggs with a vanilla latte. There were no crumbs or a single drop left. I also want to give a shout out to the gentleman working the front for not just being super helpful with the menu, but for the cool polite conversation too. Relaxed workers is always a good sign that they're being treated well. ✨️
Do not miss this breakfast spot in the Homewood area in Birmingham. The atmosphere is casual. Large tables to share with friends or strangers, an order window and a pick up window. The food is delicious and the coffee (self- serve so you can make it exactly the way you want it). I had the chicken and bacon maple biscuit sandwich and the smashed browns. Both served up quickly with a smile. Both absolute perfect. Crispy, crunchy, perfectly cooked. I will definitely go back. Also fun... when you order they ask you something you're grateful for. I said Landing safely from Maine. When my food was ready, they shouted out "landed safely"!
We went to this restaurant chain for the first time this morning for breakfast and really enjoyed our time! This is a great model to get your food quickly without sacrificing the breakfast experience. You place your order at the front counter, and then your name is called for you to pick up your food and drinks at the pick-up counter. Even though there is no table service, they still provide real silverware, plates, and a variety of condiments for you at your table, which I really appreciate! The food was very delicious! We enjoyed the sausage gravy and biscuits with eggs, which are very flavorful and savory, the maple biscuit, a classic sticky maple, and a side of smashbrowns, which are elevated, savory hash browns with green onions. For drinks, we got a maple latte and drip coffee. The maple late was perfectly sweetened, and the drip coffee was flavorful and rich. The coffee house environment is cozy and comfortable with nice chairs and benches. There is plenty of space for small or large groups. I would definitely recommend this chain and restaurant for your breakfast outings.
I have nothing but great things to say about this place. There is a unique question they ask you when you order, and your answer to that question is how they call you when your order is ready. The service was refreshing and unique, and the food was fantastic. You'll have a hard time finding something you won't like here!
Ate at Maplestreet this past Saturday. It did not disappoint. We ordered the five and dime and an egg and bacon plate. The amount of food is insanely large. The Five and Dime was perfect with chicken, bacon, cheese, and egg on a biscuit smothered in gravy. The bacon and eggs were cooked great. It can get crowded but when we arrived, we did not have a wait. The atmosphere could be better- only because there is limited seating but we found a spot and enjoyed our meal!!!
This place is beyond amazing! The Squawking Goat is hands down one of the best things I've ever eaten. The biscuits are crunchy on the outside, flaky and soft on the inside. The chicken breading has unbeatable crunch. The goat cheese is perfect in combination with the jelly. My husband got one of the B&G options and loved it. And they gave us free cinnamon biscuits since it was our first time and those were so unique and so good. This is officially one of my favorite restaurants and we will be stopping any time we're near one!
Very relaxing atmosphere. Food was very flavorful. I had the five and dime, which was a biscuit that sandwiched, egg, cheese, bacon, and a very tasty and peppery gravy. Only take away as far as service, was the wait time. Wasn’t busy but some of the patrons had to go back up and ask about the status of their orders. Other than that, no complaints. Staff was friendly and I enjoyed myself.
My husband and I were in town to celebrate our anniversary. We were actually looking for a coffee shop but it was closed so we decided to stop here. So glad we did! Shamar’s service was such a pleasure. I had the Squawking Goat and my husband had the Sticky Maple. Both were delicious! The chicken was well seasoned and paired so well with the goat cheese and pepper jelly on my biscuit sandwich. We also had the Iced Cinnamon biscuits and the Maple Vanilla lattes. So good! Whenever we visit Birmingham/Homewood, we MUST visit Maple Street Biscuit Co.
We arrived right before a rush of people. It's cute that they asked where I wanted to go in the world and that is how they announced my order was ready! Fast, warm, service. Answered all my questions, made great suggestions. Had the Five & Dime. My only wish is that they would indicate the chicken has a bit of a kick to it. I wasn't expecting the spiciness. The gravy was flavorful and rich. The bacon tasty. The biscuit was good. Also had a taste of the Sticky Maple, which was also very tasty. Can't say I was a fan of the Smashbrowns though, but I'd be willing to give them another try. I think the heat of the chicken overwhelmed my taste buds. I also really enjoyed the Peach Berry Lemonade!
My husband I first went to Maple Street Biscuit Company while traveling in Greenville, SC. When we got home to Birmingham we wanted to try our local restaurant. It was extremely underwhelming to say the least. Employees were unprofessional, food was lackluster, and our meal was $38 and we barely had anything on our plate. There was even an employee with his pants down. Super disappointed in this experience. First picture shows the Greenville, SC location “Retro Plate” And the second picture shows the Homewood, AL location “Retro Plate.”
We visited the Homewood location on a Sunday around 1 pm and they were not that busy. The food came out quickly, gravy and biscuits and strawberry chocolate waffles. The food was good but not impressive. The cleanliness of the restaurant left a lot to be desired. Trash was overflowing. It took a minute to find a clean table and I won't even go into the condition of the unisex bathroom😖. I worked in restaurants before and was always told if you have time to lean, you have time to clean. Not a single employee walked through for a check the whole time we were there. You only get one chance to make a good first impression. We won't be back.
I was so excited to try this place for breakfast! My son and I met there and luckily found parking pretty easily. It’s a really nice area of Homewood with lots of quaint stores around. You walk up to order your food and find a seat. We were greeted by Samantha/Tink. She was pleasant and assured us she’d bring our food out to the outdoor tables when ready. I was so excited about the food options we had chosen. I ordered the power bowl as I’m trying to watch my carb/calorie intake. My son ordered the seasonal carne asada bowl. When Tink delivered them, we were both disappointed. Presentation was missing the mark, neither of them looked anything close to the photos.. and neither of us finished our food. I did see some other foods as I went in for a coffee refill. The gravy biscuit looked amazing! I also saw a fried green tomato biscuit advertised that looked incredible. But again, I’m not sure if the actual product would resemble the photo. We did go in and leave a tip as Tink and another young lady were wonderful. Perhaps I’ll give this place another chance with something different to eat. However, my son and I both rated our meals a 5-6. We will not be ordering those particular meals again.
I hate to leave a bad review l, especially on Maple Street. They are one of my favorite companies, but this location was trash. The employees were nice & they were having a blast amongst themselves which I love to see people being happy but the food & cleanliness of the restaurant were severely lacking. I kept switching tables trying to find a clean one. Finally I just cleaned one myself. The bathroom was disgusting! Worse than a nasty 711 along the hwy. The biscuit seemed old & a little stale. We weren’t asked if we wanted fried egg or scrambled & honestly I forgot you could choose. So they served us rubbery scrambled. It was so bad. I would never come here again. It’s a shame too because the location is super cute.
