I noticed that no one posted about their afternoon tea yet, so I’m here for your service. You have to call in advance to book a table. The tea service starts at 3 PM (you cannot choose to start at any other time). It’s $55/adult. Once you stepped in, the servers will take good care of you from start to finish. There’s only one menu with 6 options of tea to choose from. All but one item is vegetarian. So, even if this menu isn’t marked as vegetarian, it is pretty vegetarian friendly. There is a live piano playing as you have the tea. Most songs are kid friendly. You should note too that most tables have children with them.

My wife and I took the kitchen tour for the Audubon restaurant at 2pm on a Monday at the Omni Homestead Resort. We met Chef Roderick who gave us the behind the scenes look at all the food preparation stations, oven and giant smoker. He invited us back for breakfast the next day and prepared the best breakfast we've ever eaten (pictured). Fantastic meal, service and atmosphere!

Don’t let the reviews fool you! The American Audubon is truly an amazing experience. The service was spot on and the atmosphere was even better. I would highly recommend.

The buffet for dinner was absolutely marvelous. The food was cooked to perfection and the favor was fantastic. As for the service you could not ask for better and with piano playing in background made for an evening to remember

Food service and atmosphere were stellar. The food was delicious kudos to the chef, kitchen and staff. It was a complete experience. It felt like a Michelin star quality of food. The price was reasonable for what it was. Would eat here again! The trout and lobster bisque were particularly delicious.

This was our first time here, definitely recommend the Friday night prime rib/seafood buffet. Dining room was beautiful with live piano music. Fernando was an amazing server, he was the cherry on top for our meal. Cannot recommend him enough! We will definitely be returning!

We ate the prime rib buffet on Friday night and breakfast buffet over the weekend there. Prime rib buffet was very good. Dessert buffet was excellent. Piano music was played during dinner. A beautiful dining room. Breakfast was good. Omelette was excellent. Croissants were amazing.

We absolutely loved it. The new format of smaller plates for better pricing was perfect. There were six of us and the duck, beet salad and pork belly were all delicious. Perfect place for a celebration and great service.

We went for breakfast. The donuts and cinnamon roll were really good and we enjoyed the omelet station. They had a decent amount of southern breakfast options including grilled chicken, grits, biscuits, and some sort of shrimp in red sauce. The price was a little steep at $35 a person. The staff was very friendly.

Breakfast buffet is so so. No other options for breakfast. I would rather want to eat at Jefferson if they open in the morning. But service and historic dinning room is fantastic.

During COVID, they're only doing their breakfast buffet which honestly was disappointing. We got free breakfast through Amex which is good because there's no way it's worth $32 a person. The potato hash was good and the omelette station as well. Skip the pancakes and the cold biscuits and gravy. The cinnamon donuts were also good. Three stars as the setting is really cool. More sprinkler heads than I've ever seen before.

Lovely setting, and great staff. The Sunday brunch buffet had a lot of good choices - of okay but not exceptional food. It made us question the value of a $70 brunch. The pianist was exceptional, though.

When at its best I might give the food four stars but it's inconsistent and very expensive so ding... three. The service is good but not great and if they're going to have a dress code at dinner I expect service to be top notch. The lobster bisque was ok but had very little lobster. My fish was very, very salty. My husband's beef was good, but a tiny serving. The children's chicken soup was bad. At breakfast the baked goods were good, also the meats. The prepared hot dishes were universally mislabeled and not good. Coffee cups went empty. The dining room is very pretty and the formal service is generally pretty well executed but the food isn't impressive and the prices are very high, you can get substantially better food for the this price in some very expensive places, Manhattan, London... so, disappointing. The good news is the recipes seem good, the ingredients are quality, the food is just poorly prepared so that's a pretty straightforward fix. Fingers crossed.

Our server was very nice, as was the rest of the staff. The stars for food are a balance between breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was fine. We ordered off the a la carte menu instead of the buffet. It was odd that their default seasoning on a fried egg was so much paprika it was red. Had to send that back and ask for just salt and pepper. The menu said nothing about heavy seasoning otherwise we would have asked to hold the paprika. Dinner was a different story. They’re testing a new menu. It’s not apparent from the menu they publish that it’s not a normal menu with appetizers, salads, entrees, etc. It is designed - per the server - to be enjoyed as a tasting menu so every item is absurdly small portions for the price. You either have to order from each “course” on the menu - even though they’re not described as such - or be a very light eater. Each plate was a few bites. The appetizer was literally 3 pieces of pasta. For a menu clearly designed to be eaten in courses, the flavor between the courses wasn't cohesive. Both salads had overpoweringly strong cheeses and the amuse bouche had enough garlic powder to bring down Dracula. Following that with a delicately seasoned piece of venison (which was excellent) was unfair. There’s no prix fixe option with this menu, and we had reserved when the old menu was up with the prior dinner options and the prix fixe four course. In order to actually eat what would feel like a complete meal, you’d have to spend $150+ pp from this new menu. Because that’s not transparent in the menu structure or literature, it’s left to the server to explain and for the guests to be surprised. If you’re planning on spending this amount, eat at Jefferson’s instead. We went to Martha’s for a la carte breakfast items and should have gone to Jefferson’s a second time instead of being disappointed by Audubon. It was also probably 90% empty in the restaurant, so we could hear other people saying similar things as the diners were all seated in a small cluster. We told the maitre’d the entire situation because he asked for honest feedback on the new menu, and he thanked us but did nothing else. I think the staff knows this change is for the worse because they’re watching it unfold at each table over and over throughout dinner service.

Beautiful place and service was great however the portions of food were absurdly small especially for the prices.

Very disappointed that this was a mediocre buffet on a Friday night. Simply does not match the upscale dining room and live band playing atmosphere or the upscale resort. Will not be back.

Stale bread. Reheated, lukewarm, & expensive food. Average at best service. Go to Jefferson’s or off resort for dinner. Very disappointed.

Very Disappointing. We did not realize until our server informed us that the menu was a small plate menu. We adjusted our courses accordingly. 2 of our 4 items surprisingly turned out to be soup, and these were not even listed under the soup or salad section of the menu. The first was what we thought was a lamb ravioli type starter, it turned out to be 3 small lamb filled tortellini type pasta floating in clear broth, like wonton soup. Very strange. The other disappointing course was the tile fish. I smelled the Tile fish before our server even set it on the table. This was no Tile fish! Tile fish, usually a mild, white sweet fish, had a very strong fishy odor, it had slimy grey skin on it, the meat was from the tail portion of some other kind of fish. This was presented in a bowl, then a cup of brownish liquid was poured overtop, turning it into a fish soup. It was disgusting. I will say the fig and speck salad was very good, and the duck was very good, although small.

I'm going to assume anyone who gave this restaurant a good rating thinks that IHOP is fine dining. In what world is serving watery, completely unflavored, plain white grits that taste like microwave grits with a little bit of super low quality flavorless cheese acceptable at a nice hotel like this?? Crazy. I know this is a rural area and I can't expect urban dining standards here, but seriously?? This is slop. The black waiter looked at my food and just smiled knowingly and said he would get the manager. I'm pretty sure he knows what grits are actually supposed to look and taste like. Unfortunately the chefs don't. It does say on the menu that they include gravy which these clearly did not, so maybe that was meant to impart flavor and creaminess? Certainly wasn't any gravy on my plate. In general the food here resembles what you'd expect at a retirement home, no seasoning or flavor, made for people whose doctor said they are no longer allowed to enjoy life. The rest of the resort seems nice so we were talking about coming back in winter but I'm not sure how many days I could eat IHOP quality food. The only good thing I could say is that the manager was very nice and ended up comping us for the entire meal even after we tried to insist on paying for the coffee and eclairs at least which were fine (not amazing, but acceptable).

Worst experience ever. They couldn't explain the menu the food was small my venison was brown and dry there was absolutely no sauce on it. We got a dead piece of celery in our Bloody Mary there is no worse place in this restaurant do not waste your time

The Dining Room at Omni Homestead was not even close to the fine dining experience we expected. First, we were sat next to a dirty waiter's station with dirty dishes and napkins stacked on it. The service was bad from the start with our waiter never explaining the menu, dishes, or courses in general. He was pushy and rude about ordering and kept repeating not to order from the top of the menu. It wasn't made clear those were complimentary hors d'oeuvres and he seemed annoyed with us asking questions. When we did get the first course, he pulled the pre-plated hors d'oeuvres from behind that same dirty waiter's station... which had been sitting there for who knows how long. Needless to say they tasted old and some were congealed. When we asked for a drink menu we got the same response a lot of other diners complained about- they only had a few options otherwise they would have to walk "all the way to the other bar". I asked for a cabernet sauvignon, he said ok and was going to walk away. My husband asked what exactly he was going to bring, what was the brand or were there options? He didn't know so I ordered my usual Louis Martini. I also asked about any main course supplements or upgrades like a steak we could order and he said no I would have to go to Jackson's. Then I asked what Chateaubriand was and he said oh that's a steak... again would have been helpful to walk us through the menu at any point. The service and overall experience was very disappointing. I would not recommend or go back here until they make some major changes to training staff and menu.

Fixed price for the dinner, $95 per person, even though my kids refused almost all of the unusual choices offered. Other than the Filet mignon, which was very good, it was mostly inedible for me, dad, as well. I heard people complement the food here which is hard to understand as most of the items were surely frozen and microwaved. For some reason they also refuse service at the restaurants after 8, so if you're a late eater, just plan to go offsite. The Dining room service is about as poor as you can imagine, with no coming around to ask if you need anything. After putting in the order, we waited for approx 30 min before we were able to ask for some bread, wherupon he brought 3 pieces for the 4 of us. He also forgot to bring our desserts, and was generally so slow that the entire experience took approx 2.5 hours. Mind you this is when he only had 1-2 other tables to service. Grumpy if you ask for an alcoholic drink because he explains that he will need to walk over to the bar in the next room to get it. For this price, and the expected $90 tip, you would think getting us food and drink would be without complaint. Unless you have a lot of money and time to waste, I would recommend everyone skip the formal dining room altogether, and go offsite if Woody's and The Jefferson Restaurant are closed (which happens a lot). Jefferson Restaurant is very good, and is plenty good enough to be the only fine dining experience of this beautiful resort. At the Jeff, try the mac and cheese without lobster, Filet mignon, and the swordfish. All to die for. Enjoy your stay! If anyone from the resort is reading this, please close the Dining Room, and make the Jefferson Restaurant open 7 days a week and until 10pm. You will be surprised how well this works.

I really hope the "renovation" comes with a complete overhaul of this restaurant. It's historic and beautiful but has become notoriously awful over the past 7-8 years due to poor service and low food quality. Please resurrect this once majestic restaurant and make it a great destination again!

Very disappointing. Food served was not as described on menu. Ceaser salad had store bought stale croutons and drenched in store bought dressing. Not worth the price. $350 for a family of five.

Food tastes very cheap, which is weird for such a place. Waiters don’t understand English well, coffee was from the market because the coffee machine was broken.

We waited for 45 minutes after seated without anything served. Not even bread. The manager said they ran out of bread afterwards, but nobody ever told us or came to us explain anything. Can you believe that? The food portion was also extremely small, it’s like small plates. I really don’t understand why people would choose this restaurant. It’s far from a real fine dining, the ingredients and cooking techniques are just so-so at most. We got a 30% discount after communicating with the manager but still I’ll leave this comment and strongly advise everyone think twice before making reservations here. Look at their Google review stars(3.3), there must be a reason isn’t it?
