We had a wonderful stay. The property is stunning! The architecture and style are modern and elegant. We enjoyed our trip and look forward to staying again soon!
Absolutely beautiful hotel, honors the spirit of the Menil Collection next door. Friendly, helpful staff including valet Rick!
Tony valet has done a wonderful job.
Damar with valet was great! Thank you!
The valet attendants were super helpful especially Luis
Hotel was amazing, Luis from valet was helpful as well
A calm and tasteful staycation in one of our favorite parts of Houston. Staff was accommodating and Perseid breakfast and dinner was phenomenal.
Good was great. Nice decor and vibe in both the restaurant and the bar. Will be back
Tony Valet and Perseid were excellent!!
Jamarr was fantastic! He took great care of my car in the valet and was super kind! 10/10 recommend business happy hours here!
Jesse was amazing and extremely helpful and kind. The hotel is fabulous and highly recommend!!! Thank you
Rick embodies customer service at is best. We'll mannered and polished as can be.
Damar with Valet was fearless in the pouring rain. Much appreciated!
Officially obsessed with this hotel and will be returning. Luxe, comfy rooms, delicious food and drinks catering to various tastes (eg fantastic mocktails), tvs that connect to Netflix and other apps, and the most wonderful quality of service from their entire staff. ❤️
Rick at Valet was great. Restaurant staff was wonderful. Food was delicious
A wonderful weekend in Montrose! It is such a unique place with a relaxed vibe. Everything about this hotel is tailored for a great stay and relaxed experience. Staff is fun and friendly, I will definitely return as my go to spot in Houston.
The architecture and thoughtful design awes in a quiet way. It honors Frank Lloyd Wright's idea of organic architecture where the building is "of the land and not on the land.". It respects its neighbors by blending in with the neighborhood. The attention to detail including xeriscape planting and a stunning common public room that is exactingly designed and excellent restaurant (Perseid) and staff made this a memorable stay. It's like the quiet luxury version of the White Lotus.
I read some of the reviews on here and Expedia and some suggested this hotel wasn’t GREAT! The rooms were beautiful, the actual property was stunning! A true hidden gem in the middle of the city! The water pressure was a little bit of an issue but not enough at all to not visit! Do yourself a favor and book a night or two here
Valet was amazing and Victor provided such an amazing service.
Jesse - was unbelievably kind and the hotel was absolutely lovely- I would highly recommend!!!!!! Thank you 🙏
Rick and Tony are phenomenal. The service these young provides are top notch.
Fantastic new boutique hotel. Beautiful design inside and out - the campus layout is very pretty - it complements the adjacent Menil Collection and neighborhood. It is just the right amount of design edge - we appreciated the details - the property will only improve with time as the landscaping matures. The restaurant and bar were well above average - we enjoyed the meals and the atmosphere, playlists - ambiance.
Jesse and Rick are great! Lovely valet team.
Elegant and Inviting This new boutique hotel is everything you could ask for—sleek, modern design paired with cozy touches. The service was impeccable, and the location couldn’t be better. A perfect place for a relaxing getaway!
We had a great stay here! The valet, Jesse, was so nice, quick, and helpful! Ashanti at the front desk helped us out with an early check in, which was a great help!! Definitely book a stay here!
We recently had a company retreat here and I am truly amazed at not only the service team but the hotel itself. Absolutely gorgeous hotel and everyone there was super friendly and helpful. I'll definitely recommend this place to friends and family in the future!
Amazing hotel!! So much thought was put into the guest experience. From check in, to the extremely clean rooms, to the atmosphere. Maintenance staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!!!
Pretty amazing hotel. One of the nicest I have stayed at.
Hotel saint augustine is amazing. Starting from the valet on to the inside front desk. Everybody was helpful Especially service at the restaurant, The perseid was top service. I recommend this hotel for its peace and quietness. Best 2 days ever here.
Damar with valet was excellent! Fast and professional.
Cozy and beautiful hotel in a great location. Staff in all departments were friendly and helpful. Rooms are nice and spacious. Will definitely come back!
Right next to the Menil collection, this hotel is a quiet and cozy getaway in downtown Houston. The service is fantastic and the beds are immaculately clean. Also, whoever did the gardening for the hotel needs to get an award since the plants and nature in the hotel made it seem like a resort in Hawaii. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable place to sleep and hang out in Houston. Would definitely return!😀 Note: some rooms don’t have elevators so you have to carry your luggage manually up the stairs and if you don’t want valet parking , you need to park in the street.
Great hotel and staff. Jesse was amazing at the valet!
We stayed in St. Augustine Hotel for one night as a part of our stay in Houston, and all I can say is that we were more than amazed. The reception staff, as well as the rest of the staff on the property are extremely nice and helpful, we were always with a smile. Additionally, the rooms are kept very clean, room service is exceptional. The architecture and style of the hotel are amazing. Definitely recommend staying here!
My stay was amazing! great spot for some quiet time away from the noise and Luis from valet was super helpful when i checked out
The best vibe! And the valet guys are stellar; thank you Jamarr for loading and unloading the wheelchair from my car. And remembering us.., that’s personal service when you are remembered Augustine lounge is also equally memorable!
Our stay at Hotel Augustine was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the service stood out—especially thanks to Ashanti at the concierge desk and Jesse at valet. Jesse assisted us multiple times throughout our visit and always brought such positive energy and professionalism. Ashanti was incredibly helpful in walking us through our options when we needed to extend our stay, and she made the whole process seamless. We’ll absolutely be coming back here anytime we’re in need of a local getaway in Houston.
Damar was so helpful, attentive, patient, respectful, and professional. Exceptional service from him & the rest of the staff. 10 stars all around.
Very thankful for Jesse the valet supervisor. He was very helpful and very respectful.
Had dinner at the Persian. The food and service were amazing. Tony and Amani were great at the valet stand!
Restaurant was fantastic, service too. And Rick was very polite at the Valet. Will come back
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding Experience at Hotel Saint Augustine! I recently stayed at Hotel Saint Augustine and can confidently say it was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. The service was impeccable—attentive, friendly, and genuinely focused on making my stay memorable. Whether you’re traveling for business, leisure, or a romantic getaway, this hotel is a perfect choice. I can’t wait to return and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious and unforgettable stay!
Amazing time! The ambiance in the hotel was brilliant!! I slept really well on the bed, and woke up refreshed and ready to start the day type of feeling. The lounge has a certain type of vibe where you can really kick back and enjoy the music and drinks are spot on! The whole thing just bloody smashing!
Eric at the front desk made our day. Thank you for helping us make our friends' stay even that much more special. Our friends had a 7 hour flight delay and Eric helped facilitate a welcome package to await them in their room to surprise them after a late check in. Truly mean a lot -- thank you!
Beautiful and so vibey! The valet guy, Jamar was top-tier. Also, the front desk staff was extremely knowledgeable about the company other properties. Welcome to Houston, Bungalow!
I stayed here, and omg Victor in valet was incredible, the service was so great! Thank you so much!
Planner here! My husband, pup, and I had a lovely stay at Saint Augustine. We’ve always been a fan of the Bunkhouse hotels up in Austin so we were equally excited to visit SA. The interior design of all the hotel spaces are inspiring, the eats at Perseid were show stopping, and pool was nothing short of relaxing. Great stay, dog friendly, and would highly recommend.
Nice property very different and really unique. I love the vibe of the hotel as well. The beds are so comfortable, the restaurant and guest service are amazing they will take care of you and your needs! I can't wait to visit this property again. Oh and the bar area 10/10!!
Not a detail was spared in the making of the Hotel Saint Augustine. From the stylish and inviting furniture, to the breathtaking landscaping design, to the stellar service of the staff, I could not envision a better escape from the city. Walking around the property makes me feel removed from Houston in the best way. The food from Perseid was second to none in both presentation and taste, finished off with a nightcap in the Augustine Lounge crafted to my tastes perfectly. I am eagerly awaiting my next stay at this new oasis
Wow this place was great! They were very welcoming and greeted me immediately upon entrance. I found myself at the bar and Rey took great care of me and my friends. Very kind and great vibe. Super cute spot would def recommend for a getaway
Beautifully designedly, and Kaneshia was the absolute best! She was the sweetest and most helpful! Kelly is also amazing!
Hotel Augustine was absolutely amazing—far better than expected! The staff was incredibly attentive and went above and beyond to make my stay perfect. The rooms were quiet and the beds extremely comfortable, ensuring a great night’s rest. The on-site restaurant was wonderful, and the valet service was top-notch. A special thank you to Rick and Jesse for their quick and friendly service!
Everyone at this hotel were fantastic. Professional & friendly from check in to Rick at the valet. Only a block away from the Menil Collection. Great dining & lounge as well.
Amazing hotel! Spectacular vibes and neighborhood. The entire team is amazing, and the valet is even more accommodating. Look forward to coming back here. Jesse is the man at valet!
I never knew this place existed and had an opportunity to enjoy a meal at the restaurant. I'll definitely consider the hotel for a weekend staycation as the it looks super cute. The restaurant was great as well.
My wife and I flew into Houston without a hotel reservation. After a previous bad experience elsewhere, we made our way to Hotel Saint Augustine—and it turned out to be the best decision of our trip. Jesse greeted us warmly outside and immediately made us feel welcome. He directed us to the front desk where Erick went above and beyond to help us book a room that fit our needs and budget. Since we arrived early, they kindly stored our luggage until our room was ready. The lounge was elegant and comfortable, and Ashley, the bartender, was fantastic—so friendly and attentive. Our king accessible room was stunning, and the room service was excellent. We also enjoyed a delicious meal at the on-site Perseid restaurant. Chelsey, another amazing bartender, made the experience even better. Although the stay was a bit on the expensive side, it was worth every penny. We were genuinely sad to leave. Exceptional service and a beautiful stay all around. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Service was exceptional- from Jesse at valet to our waitress, Kia at Perseid. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
Beautiful place, great drinks comfortable bed and pillow. Dint get to stay long enough for the restaurant but that will be on the next trip
Stunning hotel in a great location! Staff were extremely friendly and helpful! We especially appreciated Ashanti's hospitality and recommendations during our stay!
One of the best hotels I’ve been in Houston, rooms were very beautiful and service was great. Victor in valet was very helpful in the process of getting my car back.
We stayed at Hotel Saint Augustine this Christmas and it’s been fantastic. Our room was large and the lobby/bar is beautiful. Also, the staff is friendly and helpful. We will be back!
Phenomenal stay. Clarissa at the front desk was so kind and accommodating. Damar with valet was swift and thoughtful to make sure I didn’t forget anything in my room. Will be back!
Probably the prettiest hotel in Houston. Excellent design choices, in a great, art-forward neighborhood. Highly recommend for a different vibe in Houston.
Had lunch at Perseid on a Saturday. There was complementary valet and Damar provided quick, professional, and friendly service! Leaving to our next appointment after lunch was a breeze.
The valet man Jesse was extremely generous and nice, really appreciated him. The location is not a 5 simply because it’s so hot in Montrose in the summer, and the area is underdeveloped but still has a ton of nice parts and museums nearby. Service was good, but they bill you for every extra small thing for breakfast, and the food takes a little long despite there not being many people eating there. But overall the hotel is incredible, clean, insanely nice, unique, and the pool is very nice and warm. The bar is also very nice to get a drink at. It will definitely become more popular as more people hear about it. Highly recommended place and town to stay in if you’re visiting Houston.
the valet service is top tier…specifically Justin! he chased me down to personally return my card to me and make sure i had everything i needed. i’m truly grateful for his patience and kindness.
We recently stayed at Hotel Saint Augustine and had a truly wonderful experience. What made our stay exceptional was the incredible service from the team — especially Jesse at valet and Ashanti at the front desk. Jesse went above and beyond with every interaction, making arrivals and departures effortless and welcoming. Ashanti’s warmth and professionalism at check-in set the tone for our entire visit — she made us feel genuinely cared for. The on-site restaurant was fantastic, and housekeeping was consistently kind, attentive, and quick to assist with anything we needed. I truly loved our stay here and would absolutely return — the level of service made all the difference.
Staff was 10/10 valet was very friendly and fast with service. I definitely recommend this hotel if you’re staying in Houston !!
Spectacular hotel. I must say this one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. Hotel bar is on point and the team there is immaculate. They are tentative, friendly and their hospitality skills are at another level. Wow! Front desk team was always very nice and accommodating. It was the atmosphere, design and vibe they have manage to create in Houston that have blown me away. Great job! Not to forget the rooms. They are well designed, great closet space, exceptional mini bar, bathroom is chefs kiss! The only things I can point out is that I miss a gym and then don’t over complicate a burger. Keep that one simple ;) Side note: I was able to share our Koatji milk with the team which was fun. I usually stay with my brother in law when I Houston, but y’all got my wife hooked!
Best hotel and service! Feels like a part of the neighborhood and is lowkey yer elevated. Jessie at valet and Kaneshia at FD are standouts!
Hotel Saint Augustine was the perfect introduction to Houston. From the valet (Jesse F and Jamar) to the bar and restaurant, everything was lovely and everyone was so welcoming. We felt incredibly at home and relaxed during our stay and cannot wait to come back.
Un lugar con espacios diferentes.
Bello lugar 🙏🏼❤️
I can’t say enough about my wonderful experience at this hotel! Major shout out to Ana, Carly, John and the rest of the amazing staff. Everything was superb. The room was spotless, cozy, and beautifully decorated! The food was absolutely incredible! Definitely get the cookie selections of the day, it’s a must! Room service was prompt, the amenities and overall ambience of this hotel are truly unmatched. I can’t wait to visit again!
An amazing experience all around! Beautiful hotel. Most memorable are Jesse and Rick at the valet they went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and were so sweet.
A quietly luxurious and stylish stay that exceeded all of my high expectations. All of the details were spot on, like their attention to detail with lighting, furniture, color, and landscaping. The products that were provided were superb, the staff were incredible and the food at Perseid was as good as it gets. I can’t think of a better value than this hotel anywhere. You get to experience curated spaces, high architecture, comfortable rooms, and you can walk to one of the best art museums in the country next door.
Amazing hotel in a great location! Everything was to perfection from valet to comfortable rooms. This property is beautiful! Victor was a really kind and demonstrated fast and great service. I wish all hotels around Houston were this as attentive and fast as the staff here. I totally recommend this hotel if you’re around the area!
Hotel Saint Augustine is always a pleasure to work with. The staff is incredibly hardworking, professional, and communicative, which makes event coordination seamless (shoutout to Ruth!) The property itself is beautiful—stepping onto the grounds genuinely feels like being transported to a vacation setting. Their commitment to excellence shows in every detail, and we’re always grateful to partner with such a reliable and welcoming team.
I had the most incredible experience during my stay. The team was so accommodating, kind and attentive and the rooms/property is gorgeous and relaxing. Highly recommend and I will definitely be back! 12/10
Lovely new hotel, quite nicely landscaped. Rooms are comfortable. The best thing about this place is the location. Smack in the middle of the Montrose, a zillion good restaurants and things to do nearby. And the immediate neighborhood is lovely and very walkable.
The booking was extremely difficult. But the people through out the hotel, restaurant and restaurant especially the valet service was great.
I greatly enjoyed my staycation at Hotel Saint Augustine. It was a relaxing oasis in the middle of a wonderful neighborhood and walkable to many restaurants, shops, and the Menil. There are some definite points of improvement - namely bugs - that I addressed directly with the staff during my stay, who were appreciative of the feedback. Personally, given the price point of the hotel, I do believe they should be addressed rather quickly. Until they are, I do not know if I could recommend staying here for $350+ per night (for the cheapest room). I was staying in the Petite Queen accessible and it felt as though it had everything I needed for one night. If you are staying longer than one night or are visiting from out of town, I would not recommend booking one of these rooms - go up a level. Pros: The design is immaculate and you feel as though you are in an art gallery as soon as you walk through the door. There is an element of the hotel that is evocative of Italian and French mid-century modern style. The room: the bed was so comfortable, it felt like sleeping on a cloud. I loved the color palette and the velvet frame. The room also had a safe, blackout curtains, two robes that were large enough for someone plus sized, the “leave key in holder” for power, a steamer, wonderful toiletries, a hairdryer, and a Bluetooth speaker. The pool, while on the smaller side, is relaxing and has poolside service. The pool lounge chairs were comfortable and there was plenty of seating. Umbrellas at each chair too. The entire lobby, lounge, and listening room area is truly wonderful. It felt like an old school curio room, as it was filled with antiques, art, and modern pieces. The grounds of the hotel are beautifully landscaped and create a lush, verdant environment that is welcoming to guests. Cons: Unfortunately there was a massive con to my stay: bugs. The hotel staff were very accommodating and gave me $50 off my stay, which I appreciated and did not ask for. However, given that I like to give full reviews, I have to mention this. There was a massive spider that was building a web right next to my bed. I only noticed it in the morning before I was going to check out, and took photos and videos to show the staff. Thankfully I’m not scared of spiders and when I bent down to shine a flashlight on it, I saw that under the bed there were quite a few of cobwebs. There was also a cobweb I had noticed the night before in the doorway between the bed and the bathroom. Hopefully it was just one spider! There were also three small centipedes that showed up in my room as well. I was able to get these onto a piece of paper and take them outside. At the pool the night before there were lots and lots of little centipedes - to the point where they were crawling on/in my shoes and I picked them up to sit on the lounge chair with me. Obviously, the lush foliage is an attractive home to the bugs, and bugs are wonderful for the environment ! However, given the price point of the hotel, I think management needs to find a solution quickly to solve this. I had dinner at Perseid and the portion was massive (and delicious)! I looked online for the room amenities of the Petite Queen Accessible - the room I had booked. It clearly states on the website of both the Petite Queen and Petite Queen Accessible that the room is equipped with a minifridge. I ended up calling the front desk to ask if there was a minifridge in my room because I could not find it. They said no there was not and that the Petite Queens do not have minifridges. I let them know that their website states that the rooms do have minifridges, just as an FYI, and the staff member offered a new room for me with a minifridge. I said thanks but I’m okay with staying in my room, just wanted to let them know so they can update their website. Coffee - in the booklet it says that there is complimentary coffee in the lobby from 5am-7am. At least extend it until 9am. Add more hooks to the area around the sink to hang towels
Hotel architecture blended with neighborhood. Made for an excellent atmosphere. Valet Jesse was extremely friendly and helpful. Very knowledgeable of the area. He is a good spokesman for this establishment.
This hotel is beautiful. Neatly decorated and immediately you get giddy as soon as you get on the property. I was really impressed. The room service was quick and professional. The pool looked amazing. I wish I had time to take a dip. I was disappointed there was no gym. That seems pretty insane for a hotel these days but the bed, pillows were very comfortable. The staff was professional and I don’t think anyone could regret staying here unless you needed a workout like I did. The location was great too. Somehow we avoided the Houston traffic both ways so that worked and we ate really good in the area so thats definitely a plus. Not sure I would be back but I wouldn’t discourage others from stay here niether.
Damar with valet was a big help and super friendly! Great stay here as well
Hotel Saint Augustine is a beautifully curated, minimalist boutique hotel that feels like a true departure from the ordinary Houston hotel experience. The design is intentional, modern, and calming, very much a California-meets-Houston vibe. It’s the kind of place you stay when you want to unplug a bit, slow down, and surround yourself with thoughtful spaces and beautiful landscaping. The property itself is well thought out, and you can tell a lot of care went into the aesthetic and overall concept. That said, while the hotel is impressive visually, there were a few things that took away from the experience. Some of the basic essentials you’d expect, like accessible ice or water machines, weren’t available. Instead, you have to call the front desk, and the mini bar also lacked visible pricing, which felt inconvenient and a bit uncomfortable. The biggest disappointment for me was the lounge service. I felt dismissed by the bartender, which really stood out in an otherwise carefully crafted environment. For a boutique hotel that leans so heavily into experience, service makes or breaks the stay. One small but important note: when guests check in, a brief overview of the property, where to find things, how certain amenities work, what makes the hotel unique, would go a long way. This place isn’t a typical hotel, and a little orientation would really elevate the guest experience. Overall, Hotel Saint Augustine is a beautiful, well-designed getaway in the heart of Montrose. While there were things I didn’t love, it’s clear the concept is strong. With a few adjustments around service and guest experience, this could easily become a standout boutique destination in Houston.
While there is obvious and great attention to textures and colors offering a grand luxury visual, it was at the expense of the luxury comforts one expects from luxury prices. Well, we were underwhelmed with service and rooms. We are two experienced, luxury travelers - a chef and an architect - and we didn't have any idea upon booking that the hotel was not even finished - no promo offered, no 'excuse us' while there are large boxes everywhere getting unpacked, people moving plants, furniture and items for photo shoots during breakfast service, no restaurant service (just bar menu) and almost no one around acting as an obvious concierge or even once asking us about our stay. In fact, we often arrived and entered without any contact. Save Juston the valet who was very friendly. So, if you want a stay where you want to feel 'unseen', then it's a good options. For us, with all the commotion and dedication to the opening, we felt not only neglected, but in the way. The room had no seating other than the beds. So, no desk, no chair. No carpet which was inconvenient for the cold weather snap and having to be extra caution not to wake the other during the night. No shower bars for the elderly architect and an odd pile of tissue paper instead of a whole box of tissues for guest use. And, albeit cute velvet beds with wings, it made turning the lights on and off awkward - we managed to reach the wall lights from the bed with the tall Perrier water bottles we got to supplement the tiny bottles of complementary water. Doors were very heavy, but did not shut out hallway noise, at all. So, yes, great color schemes, smooth velvet beds, fancy tiles but didn't make up for missing comforts. All in all, after many stays in many luxury contexts over decades, we find the newer hotels often sacrifice the almost more important attention to service and comfort over the all luxury eye candy in design and being amazing on a magazine page. One thing is to offer something different which is beautiful, albeit lacking adequate elevator service, concierge service, and guest attention, but to compare the cost with the more well established hotels in the area, much is lacking. We were looking for a possible new landing pad for our trips to Houston, will not be returning.
A roach greeted me at the door in the lobby. Very busy weekend with Beyoncé and other events but only one receptionist working. The overall atmosphere was giving intimate cult.
I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was too disappointing not to mention. We came to celebrate a friend’s birthday and had breakfast at the hotel restaurant. The breakfast itself was great and the service at the table was wonderful. Afterward we stepped into the lobby to take a couple of quick birthday photos. Nothing disruptive, no professional equipment, and there was hardly anyone around. What happened next was incredibly uncomfortable and confusing. One staff member told us no digital cameras but that a Polaroid was okay. Another employee then told us no flash photography. When we asked if a regular camera without flash was okay, she said yes. A moment later the first employee came back and told us if we used the camera again we would be asked to leave so we told him with the woman had just told us so he went to verify and Then he returned again and told us we needed to leave immediately if we were not staying at the hotel. The issue wasn’t the policy — it was the way it was handled. The staff clearly weren’t on the same page, and being confronted multiple times and ultimately told to leave after spending hundreds of dollars there was embarrassing and unnecessary. Hotels in Houston know their lobbies are popular photo spots and people take pictures there all the time. We were respectful, celebrating a birthday, and simply taking a few photos. Instead we were treated like we were doing something wrong. It completely changed what had been a really nice birthday morning.
They are capitalizing on the caché of the Menil Collection. Yes, they did a good job of blending in with the architectural profile of the museum and neighborhood. However, the room was not worth the $500 room price....uncomfortable furnishings and poor lighting. Even the wall electrical outlets were wobbling. The interior design doesn't work. It tries hard for hip and chic, but is poorly designed and uncomfortable. Was planning on a 5 night stay because of all the hype, but checked out after one night.
Style over substance and completely fails at the basics. Problems: 1) Some of the rooms have exterior entrances - most expensive motel I ever stayed in! This made the room very loud at night from guests talking loudly on outdoor patios. 2) Lukewarm hot water at best. 3) Room decorations were impractical - a simpler desk / table setup would be much better than a large uncomfortable couch and too small table paired with it. Good things: 1) Staff was nice and friendly. 2) Location is excellent. 3) On-site restaurant was good. It was an OK stay - but at this price I expect much kite. Overall my impression is the basics really shouldn’t have been reinvented - it compromised the experience too much, and because of that I would not stay here again.
The staff— the people working there are the greatest people on earth. They are the kindest loveliest humans went far and above and beyond to take care of me during a time of tragedy while in Houston, dealing with my mother‘s passing. The property is a mess. I’ve been a customer of bunkhouse since The late 90s in Austin cannot understand why this place is such a mess -major design issues with functionality & aesthetics….multiple friends in Houston where I grew up are really sad as it looks like a terrible apartment complex on the outside & nothing makes sense. Then there was a very intoxicated, angry man who inserted himself into our private conversation who became abusive….. recap: the staff were beautiful people -amazing, but the hotel was bad. I would ever stay here again. Ps puja was bought by Hyatt. Hyatt brand is being boycotted for allowing ice to use their properties as detention centers. Boycott all Hyatt properties immediately..
Really disappointed with our experience here. Front desk staff was off putting, prices are insane for what you get, and room was the biggest let down. Biggest problem is we didn’t have hot water, the showers were COLD and drafty. No sound barrier, fire alarm went off for 15 minutes one night, TV stopped working after the first night, AC is hard to control and only blows from the bathroom so the temperature was freezing in there and muggy in the room. Pillows are uncomfortable, complimentary coffee is only offered from 6am-7am. For $400 a night it is mind blowing how poor the quality is. The positives are that the location is decent, the coffee shop near the hotel is good, and the bartenders were personable, they were the best part of the stay.
I had high expectations for this hotel as I paid $400 for night for a queen room plus $45 for overnight parking. First, it was pouring rain and the hotel has no proper entrance and cover on property to stay dry. The front desk lady literally grabbed her small umbrella to take me over to my research room. We had the cross the lobby/bar/lounge which looked more like a brothel and smelled like cellar. The reason why room faced openly a side street without any dance and made me feel unsafe. The room was small with a huge bathroom which did not make sense. As even the sink was in the room. No fridge, no coffee machine, the only mirror was above the sink. One star is for the same extremely comfy bed and bedding in which I had a restful night. The other star is for valet as they were pretty effective.
The actual stay was fine, but a couple days later got some phantom charges saying i used the minibar. As a person who does not drink alcohol i was charged for a bottle of wine. I Was not emailed a receipt for these phantom mini bar use and only found out because charge popped up on my credit card app. Total scam
