I came in for a random dinner and sat at the bar but I felt like I received special service from the parking until I left. Nia was my bartender and she was attentive the entire time. Her suggestions from the entree to the dessert was spot on and I have a new daily dinner location. The highlight was the seasonal butter cake which I was convinced to get even though I’m not a dessert type of guy but it was phenomenal! Thank you for the great service and food, you’re missing out if you dont go here.

I had the best time. We sat out on the patio next to the waterfall and the weather was perfect. Lena took care of us and David made the night great as well with all the wine recommendations. Steak was perfect, company was perfect, and the wine was perfect. Will be back soon!

We had such a wonderful evening here. The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and very attentive throughout the night. The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was amazing, everything looked stylish and the interior was beautiful. It really made the whole experience feel special. The only thing I would mention is that it was a bit noisy because of the waterfall and the large crowd, but honestly, it didn’t take away from how much we enjoyed our time. Overall, it was a fantastic evening and I would definitely recommend this place.

I had an amazing dinning experience at Mastro’s last week while visiting Houston with friends. The restaurant was beautiful and the ambiance was immaculate with mood lighting and live music. The service and attention to detail at this location was outstanding. Our waiter, Sam, wowed us with his knowledge of the menu and absolutely perfect recommendations. The manager, Aleksander, was very pleasant and made sure to stop by our table to check in on our experience. Everything we ordered was delicious. I had an amazing dinner with friends at Mastro’s this week. Sam was our server and he was super friendly and knowledgeable as well. All of his recommendations from cocktails to entrees were great suggestions. I especially enjoyed the pomegranate martini (which came out smoking with dry ice 😍), quail knots, and bacon steak. We ordered the branzino and 33oz ribeye to share and it was cooked to perfection. Special mention and the lemon blueberry butter cake, it was delectable! Get it while you can I believe it’s seasonal. These were my top picks from the night but there wasn’t single thing that we ordered that we did not enjoy. The manager Aleksander stopped by multiple times to check on our table and ensure we were having a pleasant experience. Everyone was kind from the hostess to the busboys. It truly felt like a family environment. I just came for dinner with friends on Tuesday night, but they made us feel like it was the most special of occasions. I can’t wait to return on my next visit to Houston!

My husband took me here for my birthday. The ambiance was there, it was dark but romantic. It got a little noisy but we were enjoying everything so it did not bother us. Our waiter was Michael! We came here to celebrate my friends birthday and this place is absolutely the best. 10 out of 10 Lauren and Lanaya did an amazing job. Taking care of us. Service was amazing, the food was delicious. Five years ago, I walked out of Mastro’s twice and thought, “Overhyped, overpriced, and not worth my heels.” Fast-forward to this month’s Houston Restaurant Weeks — I decided to roll the dice and give them another shot. And you know what? I’m glad I did, because they completely flipped my opinion. Let’s start with service — which, by the way, has always been Mastro’s strong suit. My waiter Sergio? A star. The kind of waiter you’d want at every meal. Professional without being stiff, quick without being rushed, and the man literally sprinted after me with my forgotten credit card like some steakhouse superhero. Later, when I called for my receipt, it hit my inbox almost instantly. That’s not just “good service” — that’s service that makes you feel like a VIP. Now, my friend strolled in from California wearing sweatpants because apparently “Texas fine dining” translates to “casual Friday” in his head. The manager could have sent us packing, but instead they seated us in a private room so nobody’s Wagyu-and-wine moment was ruined. Classy move, Mastro’s. On to the food. The bone-in ribeye? Gorgeous. Big, bold, perfectly pink in the middle, still sizzling when it hit the table. The kind of steak you take one look at and know you’re about to ruin your diet. Cooked exactly as I requested — medium rare, leaning rare — with flavor that needed nothing but my fork and a glass of red. The tuna appetizer? Fresh as in “this fish probably had plans an hour ago.” Bright color, perfect texture, and a clean, perky bite that makes you forget you’re in a landlocked city. And then… the warm butter cake. Listen, I hate butter cake. I hate the dense, crusty outside. But this one? Soft, buttery heaven with a whisper of apple, topped with vanilla ice cream and a cloud of homemade whipped cream big enough to ski down. I didn’t just eat it. I demolished it. If it’s wrong to fall in love with dessert, I don’t want to be right. Not everything was perfect — the pork chop was a flop. Supposedly marinated for 14 days in garlic and seasoning, but it came out dry and flavorless. I had to drown it in salt and hot sauce, which I never do to good meat. To their credit, the manager handled it like a pro and made it right. One warning: this is not a quiet, candlelit date spot. It’s loud, buzzing, and full of energy. Great for a celebration, terrible if you’re whispering sweet nothings. Valet only — $8 for the garage, $20 to park right up front. Final verdict: Mastro’s won me back. That ribeye and butter cake combo? Worth every calorie. The service? Still elite. I came back out of curiosity. I’ll return out of loyalty. Great experience overall. I called last minute when plans fell through for Valentine’s Day and they were understandably booked. The hostess was able to find us a table and got us reserved. We showed up 15 minutes early (5:45) and they sat us right away. Getting there later would have been a longer wait, this place filled up fast (over 800 reservations just that evening). Our waitress (Tuy) was amazing and very attentive. All of the staff who served us were exceptionally professional and attentive. The food portions served “family style” were very generous. We decided to split the 1/2 orders of mac&cheese and Brussel sprouts, and we weren’t able to finish them. The steak was a poor choice on my side I believe. I ordered the dry-aged and it was not a flavor we will be requesting again. Perhaps paired with a wine to bring out more flavors could have enhanced the experience, but I’m not a wine drinker. The tallow fries were excellent, the marrow appetizer did not meet expectations from other similar establishments we have visited. The lemon dressed arugula garnish saved the day for the marrow. Make a reservation, plan ahead, valet or getting dropped off is the only option, dress appropriately for fine dining, and enjoy the waterfall ambiance provided at a Houston Gem.

My experience- The service at Mastro’s steakhouse was phenomenal. They were very attentive with hardly any wait time. I do think they should be stricter in enforcing the dress code to match the upscale atmosphere. The food itself was amazing. One thing that really stood out for me was the truffle butter that paired perfectly with our steaks. I ordered the filet mignon that was cooked to perfection and my partner went big with the Australian wagyu tomahawk. The quality was undeniable, though we both agreed a touch more salt would have taken it over the top. Our sides were garlic mashed potatoes, asparagus, and lobster mac and cheese. The potatoes were the only letdown, a bit on the bland side but the asparagus was really delicious and crisp, and the lobster mac and cheese was top tier! At the end, we received a complimentary dessert for my partner’s birthday that we were really surprised by! It was a butter cake that melted in your mouth. Overall, an exceptional dining experience with incredible flavors and standout service.

We love Mastro's and have been going for years. Every special occasion, Birthdays, Anniversary's, when we have special guests come into town etc etc. We had my husband brother fly in from another state and took this opportunity to take him to our favorite place for dinner and at the same time invite their other brother and wife who also had never been and heard us talk about it a lot. We have spent thousands of dollars dining here and never had a bad experience...until now. We came as a party of 5 on Tuesday evening around 6pm. We all dressed up smart as I had warned them about the dress code as it was fine dining. As soon as we sit down the first thing I notice is a guy sitting at the bar in a HOODIE !! and it immediately took the tone of the place down. There was also some firm event going on so the lovely area where the waterfall feature is had been shut off by big glass doors and all the tables were squashed up towards the bar, and we could no longer sit near this beautiful feature like we had always done on previous visits. The noise level in Mastros was something we had never experienced before. It was like a night club! They were pumping out music like it was Happy Hour at a dance Party and even the staff had to shout at us to tell us about the specials on the menu. Gone was the intimate romantic setting, the quiet, low lights, and fine dining ambience. It was awful. It truly ruined the whole night and we were embarrassed as we had always told everyone how good it was and they always seen our photos on social media and here they were having a dinner where we had to shout at each other and could not even hear the person next to us. It is my Birthday next week and we were coming back for it, but if this is the new normal for Mastros then I'm afraid we will never be back. The food was great but and $800+ meal was ruined by the atmosphere and staff not making sure everyone was dressing to the code. There was also a lady playing the piano and singing which I did not even know until I was leaving so why would you even be playing music over the top of her? absolutely awful experience and I am so upset and I do not want my Birthday to be ruined so I may skip this next week which is a shame as I have been to Mastros for my Birthday every year for years!

I expected a top-quality dining experience given the reputation and prices at Mastro’s, but the tables here are a serious problem. The design leaves very little legroom, and the table supports hit directly against my knees. This isn’t just uncomfortable—it’s caused me physical pain, and I’ve even had to visit the hospital twice because of it. For such a high-end restaurant, it’s disappointing that so much investment went into décor and presentation, but basic comfort and functionality were overlooked. Dining should not feel like a health risk. I sincerely hope management takes this seriously and replaces these tables with something suitable for fine dining. Until then, I cannot recommend this location.
