Very nice establishment. We've done takeout once and dined in once, and were very impressed with both experiences. I enjoyed my cheese and mole enchiladas with all the high quality sides like guac, sour cream (which I normally hate but it's spectacular here), salsas and pico. Excellent chicken fajitas - that was some beautiful quality chicken and perfectly cooked. Extremely sweet staff that made us feel very comfortable and welcome. Definitely will go again! Escalantes is also excellent, but I'd say you get nicer quality with ninfas.

Just a short 13-minute walk from our hotel, this restaurant turned out to be the perfect Monday night dinner spot. We grabbed seats at the bar and were immediately greeted, offered water, and served chips with two flavorful salsas. I ordered a mojito, which was perfectly crafted and refreshing. For our appetizer, we tried the jalapeño rellenitos—spicy, flavorful, and the perfect way to start the meal. For the main course, we had the costillas de res, which tasted like they came straight off a barbecue grill—tender, smoky, and well-seasoned. I also had a classic crispy beef taco, and the ground beef was delicious. To finish, we shared sopapillas and flan—both a sweet ending to a wonderful dinner. Our bartenders, Diego, and Edgardo, management Carlos Martinez and his team, were attentive, friendly, and made sure our glasses stayed full the entire night. The prices were reasonable for the quality of food and service, and honestly, worth every penny. Even though I’m only visiting Houston, this spot is definitely a must—whether you’re here for happy hour with friends, catching a game at the bar, or enjoying a family dinner.

We had such a great lunch at The Original Ninfa’s in Post Oak! The food, drinks, and overall vibe made for an amazing experience. We started with the queso flameado, and it was a total hit—gooey, flavorful, and gone in minutes. I ordered the seafood enchiladas, and they were to die for—loaded with flavor and cooked perfectly. They also offer a lunch menu with premium options, which is perfect if you’re looking for something high-quality and satisfying during the day. The drinks were strong and flavorful—I had the mojito and it was honestly one of the best I’ve had in Houston. So refreshing! Parking is free, but it can be a little confusing at first. Plan a few extra minutes to park in the garage and walk over—it’s not far, just not super obvious from the street. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating, which we loved, and it’s also very kid-friendly—a big plus since we had our niece with us. The staff was attentive, kind, and super helpful, making the whole experience even better. Definitely one of our new go-to spots in Houston. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great Mexican food, strong drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere!

Wanted to try the original fajitas in America since 1973. The portions are pretty massive. Was stuffed. Friendly staff, clean restaurant, amazing mexican food. Can't ask for more.

Food was excellent and the service was top notch. Free parking in the garage was nice too. The weather was nice so we sat outside. This location has the city ambiance without being super loud or overwhelming, beware of the flies though if you're eating outside! The prices are higher than other Mexican restaurants, but are comparable to the other restaurants in the area, and the food was great. We left completely full and satisfied. Overall 5 out of 5!

We finally tried this place for lunch this past Sunday and it was amazing! The food was fresh and on point! Service was excellent as well! We told them we were celebrating a Birthday and they even brought out a complimentary dessert and sang Happy Birthday! Highly recommend this place!

I held my birthday party here and everybody was absolute incredible. Server lent out an extra table for the gifts, served different types of chips and dips like Guac and queso completely complementary, took everybody’s orders quickly and had them out immediately, served a complimentary key lime pie, and even gave me an orchid for my birthday. Amazing food, amazing service; one of my favorite restaurants

Dining Experience @ The Original Ninfa's. . Greatly enjoyed the Chili Con Queso (USD $13), we finished all of it! The thick creamy smooth melted cheese carries cheesy salty savoury spice flavour, but it's nicely balanced. Stays warm for quite awhile, we kept going at it with the tortilla chips. . The Enchiladas De Pollo Con Mole / Enmoladas / Mole Enchiladas With Chicken (USD $20) was more filling than expected, though it's just 2 pieces. . Cutting in, I appreciate the thick chewy tender soft creamy crunchy textures, and the unique bready sweet savoury vegetal sour spice salty earthy chocolatey herbal flavour. This dish stands-out because I think most won't be exposed to savoury chocolate gravy.

We came from out of town for the Thanksgiving holiday. Stopped in for lunch and had a great experience. We had a large group and were seated in no time. Servers were great and helpful giving us kid options that were not on the menu for our little ones. The atmosphere was great and the food was perfect. So glad we were told about this spot. Hope to return one day!

Craving Tex-Mex, we decided to try this place and were really happy with our choice. We came for an early dinner on a Saturday, and the restaurant wasn’t overly crowded. The service was excellent, and the food was just as impressive. We had the beef fajitas, which were perfect—the tortillas were super fresh and not greasy, and the meat was cooked exactly how we wanted it. The margaritas were delicious as well. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’ll definitely be back!

Amazing food & great ambiance! When relatives were coming into town, I needed a restaurant to take them to that would give them the Houston experience, and this location was perfect for the task. We ordered the Chicken Fajitas, Queso Flameado, Mushroom Quesadillas, and enchiladas. The food was fantastic and we could not have has a better time!

Wonderful Tex Mex chain in Houston. I had tried the downtown location a few years back and remember it being so good. Going to this location in Uptown I was reminded again how boozy their drinks are, how yummy their free salsa is, and the fajitas are so flavorful. Even down to their rice and beans sides tasted good. My friends got ceviche and flautas and the portion size was generous and tasted hearty and fresh. You seriously can’t go wrong with anything on this menu, both food and drink! We’ll definitely be back for another meal!

We wanted to try this local restaurant and were not disappointed. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. There was plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. The chips and sauces were very delicious and fresh tasting. The food arrived very quickly and was very delicious and pleasing. Would be a great place for a date night or with friends. It is more expensive than you may find at other Mexican restaurants, but we were not disappointed with the service or food we received. We would return. Quick note: the bathrooms we used may be hard to navigate for those with disabilities as the hallway leading to them and the stalls were fairly small.

My server was great! For a 38 dollar Fajitas, I wasn't impressed. It was cooked correctly but clearly separately when cooked. No seeping of the juices together. While hot and good cuts of meat, I was hoping for flavor and wow! Twas not. (I asked for no guac no sc and no pico so they do not appear in pic)

I recently visited Ninfa's because a family member who works there recommended we stop by for margaritas. We were excited to check it out! By pure coincidence, we entered through a side door instead of the main entrance. Our server happened to step out through that same door, greeted us warmly, and seated us at one of her empty tables. Shortly after, the host Shayla brought menus to the table and told us in a rude tone not to enter through that door again. It felt unnecessary, especially since we had been told it was okay. What made it more uncomfortable was that I noticed other guests entering through the same door, and she didn’t approach them the way she approached us. A simple “Please use the front door next time” or even just “Enjoy your meal!” would have been much more appreciated. Aside from that interaction, the vibes were amazing and the margaritas were great! We came to have fun, and thankfully we still ended up having a good time. I just hope staff communication can be handled more politely in the future. 🙂

Pretty good food. Ok service. Energetic environment. In the top 50% of Mexican restaurants where I've eaten, but not the incredible experience I expected. Everything was fresh. The service was quick. They handled a party of 16 well. Mostly I expected more from the food. It was good, but nothing special.

The waitress was very friendly and attentive to our table. I ordered the Tacos Al carbon were well seasoned and fresh sides were enjoyable.

The food was pretty mediocre. The queso tasted like velveeta or some sort of processed cheese. The charro beans were bland. The crab tostada only tasted of lime and avocado...the crab was there but it's flavor was non-existent. On a positive note, the rice was decent and so was the shrimp and fish taco. In regard to service, it needs much improvement. We were seated and given chips and salsa. We waited for a server to take our drink order. Within a couple minutes, another couple sat at the table next to us. They were greeted by a server and provided drinks, while we still waited. Overall, the highly anticipated experience at Ninfas was subpar at best. There are many better options in the Houston area. We will certainly not be returning.

I came here on Friday night (12/5) to celebrate my birthday, and unfortunately my experience ended on a very disappointing note. My group was the last party seated in the back, and we left around 11 PM. When I got home, I realized I had accidentally left my birthday card on the table. I called the next morning and was told someone would contact the manager on duty. After calling throughout the weekend, I finally spoke with Erica on Monday, who was very kind, helpful, and genuinely concerned. She assured me she would look into the situation. Later, the General Manager, Jose, called to let me know they checked the cameras and did not see the card on the table. However, he also mentioned that the leftover cake and the card provided by Ninfa's were still there-just not my birthday card or the gift card inside it. That was extremely upsetting and confusing. While I can't say what happened, I want to strongly encourage future guests to double- and triple-check their tables before leaving. If something is left behind, you may not get it back. On a positive note, our server Gabriella was wonderful, and I truly hope she had nothing to do with the situation. Unfortunately, the handling of this issue has left me unwilling to return.
