Opinions de Benihana Houston
Authentic and flavourful. Service and atmosphere: Our server was polite, friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean and very well designed and decorated. It had great Persian vibe including music played. Food and drinks: Very good selection of traditional dishes that were not westernised as in other Persian restaurants. The food was fresh, well seasoned and was full of flavours. The meats were moist, salad and starter tasted fresh. Pinch of sumac which was available on each table was a perfect addition to our dishes. Highly recommend hot Persian tea. Pricing: $$ - very affordable for the quality and quantity of foods received.
There is a reason why so many people love Kasra Persian Grill. It is that good. We enjoyed hummus, kabobs, lamb shank, and kubideh at this restaurant. Portions are very large and we are very appreciative of that. The complementary bread is unique and so satisfying! If you have never been to Kasra Persian Grill, enjoy your dining experience. If you are a regular customer of Kasra Persian Grill, you already know how this restaurant is such a treasure.
A perfect lunch experience! Large group- no problem! Want great unique food?- no problem! Worried about staff being too busy for you at lunch?- no problem! Highly recommend
It's the best place for irani/Persian kabobs far. Kubideh kabobs are very juicy and delicious Jujeh is grilled on the outside, juicy and moist on the inside and perfectly marinated Lamb chops (get them medium) are super delicious Finish all with Persian hot tea The staff are so amazing and friendly. Big shout-out to one of the staff Syed. Very friendly and nice. Amazing experience here. Will definitely be returning!
One of the BEST places in Houston. Food was amazing, appetizers are wonderful, don't miss it. Staff specifically Sumaia is great, she assisted us and her recommendations were exactly. We were 4, and family platter was more than enough. If i visited Houston later, definitely i will come back again.
Absolutely delicious!! We got the redfish which was fresh and cooked perfectly. The lamb chops were melt in your mouth.
Food: The food was delicious! The beef kabob was magnificent. It had a beautiful color and taste and had a smoky flavor. The filet mignon was very juicy and tender and had a sparking color on the inside. The chicken was also fabulous with a good texture paired with the aroma of grilled tomatoes. The hummus and bread were amazing. The white rice was fine, though the cranberry rice was not as delighting as the others. The complementary salad with feta cheese was charming. Service: The service was also ok. The front clerk was not the nicest and groaned at us for requesting a table. Though our server was completely opposite and was as kind as can be. He came to our table multiple times to check if we needed more stuff. He gave us time to decide what we wanted to eat. And he gave us extra salad. Atmosphere: This was THE best out of all three factors. It was very modern with comfortable seats and clean tables. The lighting was perfect. The bathroom was extravagant. Blue marble floor to ceiling with luxurious sinks, mirrors, and stalls. Overall amazing.
Always great service at this spot! Also my favorite Persian restaurant, I love the atmosphere and the interior design. Even the bathroom is cute! As for food, I love getting the eggplant appetizer and the ground kabob. I also love the dill rice. I also love the greens with cheese and onions and bread as appetizers on the house, it’s my favorite!
Fantastic experience, attentive service and delicious food. The filet mignon steak kebab was tender and flavorful. Salmon kebab was also delicious.
Absolutely delicious! Customer service was excellent the food was heavenly. Loved the hummus and eggplant dip. The steak cubes were so tender and melt in your mouth. The best steak I've ever had. Bread was warm and soft. Persian tea was delicious. This place deserves more than 5 stars. Definitely a gem.
My family and I had an amazing experience at Kasra Persian Grill. We came in on a busy day without a reservation and were a party of 9. Instead of turning us away, the hostess did everything she could to make sure we could still dine there. I believe her name was Skyler (I apologize if I got the name wrong), but she was incredibly polite, professional, and truly went out of her way to accommodate us. That kind of hospitality really stood out. Our server Christopher, who has helped us on several occasions, was phenomenal as always. He is patient, attentive, and makes sure everyone at the table is taken care of. Even with a large group like ours, he handled everything smoothly and made the experience enjoyable for everyone. And of course, the food is absolutely amazing. The portions are generous, everything tastes fresh, and the flavors are authentic. It’s easily some of the best Persian food in Houston. Between the incredible food and the outstanding service from the staff, Kasra Persian Grill continues to be one of our favorite places to dine with family. Highly recommend.
BEST dinner me and my boyfriend have had in so long! Everything was perfect!!! Lanie was spot on, we joined our table late and she made us feel so welcome and we made friends with the others at our table. Alejandro was the chef and he did GREAT! All the tricks and jokes made it so worth it. Bar drinks were fire we loved it! Everyone happly came over to sing happy birthday to the boy at our table. Very family oriented!!
Awesome experience. From the time we're greeted until the time we left, everything was incredible. Even on Christmas day, we were seated almost immediately. Alejandro was our chef and he did not disappoint. He was friendly and he did all of the amazing things that you dine at Benihana to see. The egg trick, the knife tricks, the onion flames and so much more. Of course the food was seasoned perfectly and tasted amazing. Yes, please visit the downtown location. You will be very pleased.
We had a great experience at Benihana’s, and a big part of that was our waitress Tori. She was friendly, attentive, and professional from start to finish. Drinks were always refilled, orders were accurate, and she checked in at just the right times without being intrusive. She kept everything running smoothly while maintaining a warm, upbeat attitude that made the night even more enjoyable. Outstanding service—she’s a true asset to the team!
best time i’ve had at a benihanas location. the server lani was wonderful and took care of us very well she explained the menu in a easy way and helped us order the perfect meal. the chicken fried rice was great and just enough tricks from the chef. will definitely be back
Came here last night for my daughters birthday and had a great time. Lawnie was our server she was so sweet and attentive! The girls loved her and our chef, he really put on a show!! So i like this location but the food was decent, lacked some flavor
With it being my first time trying hibachi, this was an amazing experience! Our Server Tori was very patient and guided us through everything I needed to know. She was fun and made sure we were well taken care of. Our chef was GREAT! Super funny and talented! The food was amazing! Highly recommended on all parts!
Went to celebrate for a friends birthday and had an absolutely lovely experience. The chef Cisan, our server (whose name I don't remember 😔), and manager Ramon were absolutely lovely, and incredibly kind and generous the whole time. They went above and beyond, and made the experience super special and I'd love to come back to celebrate something else again :)
Definitely my top 5 restaurants in Houston. There are soo many things I love about this place. The food, the staff and their ambience and our visit has a beautiful story to it. Big shout out to the manager Justin Morris, Tori, Benny, Mama tram and the all the staff members who went above and beyond to give a memorable experience for my family especially for my toddler. Definitely worth checking out!
This was my first time dining in. The food and service was absolutely amazing. Chef Betty put on an amazing culinary presentation with a little joke here and there. It was a most enjoyable time. The entire staff was great. We went during lunch hours. I had the Hibachi Chicken that came with soup, vegetables, and fried rice, as well as dipping sauces. I had two different garlic dipping sauces. I also had a side of spice for the chicken rather than getting the spicy hibachi chicken. I don't eat spicy food as much like I used to. There is a parking garage available which is a good option since street parking can be difficult downtown.
Visited this place for a birthday dinner with a large group of 20. We had a reservation so there was no wait time. Parking was difficult for a Friday evening since there are other restaurants in the area. Seems to be a very crowded complex. Food was alright. I've lived in the Middle East for a good 17 years so I'm perhaps biased on the quality and flavor. Food is cooked fresh. The kuboos (bread) comes out warm and moist. Have it immediately with Hummus or one of the many dips. You can easily fill yourself with the bread if you don't watch it. Meats were good. I would have liked them more seasoned and flavorful. Rice was ok; definitely needed more seasoning. Wait staff was attentive and friendly. We had a birthday at our table. We brought our own cake. They provided us with plates and cutlery for it. Overall, a nice place. Can be loud at peak hours but it's bearable. I would come back to try different things on their menu.
Took slightly longer for the meal to arrive but the wait was worth it. The lamb, rice and chops were delicious. The server was very courteous and kind. The choice of dessert was minimal and the ice cream was much to be desired, thats why the four stars.
The chicken kabob was cooked well, but it could have been marinated better. The beef koobideh was also good. Overall, considering the quality of the food and the price you pay, you’ll be satisfied. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming.
Stopped by on a Monday afternoon and were seated promptly. The standout items were the doogh (yogurt drink), barg, and the Persian ice cream served with baklava—the baklava, in particular, was excellent. Unfortunately, the koobideh was disappointing; it didn’t resemble traditional Persian koobideh in flavor and had an off taste. Prices were reasonable, and the atmosphere was lively and welcoming. While there were elements I enjoyed, I’ve had better Persian food experiences in Houston overall.
Great place great food amazing atmosphere just the wireless was not so engaging, I love the food and it was so amazing I would definitely come back again, I notice that they gave free starters to double the size of mine for other tables not sure why !!! Like we were two and we got one bread and one plate of the veggies with the cheese but other tables got two bread and two vegi plate not a big deal but was wondering why.
My experience in Benihana was great 🫶🏻 The food was served immediately The bar tender Avery was doing great and put attention everywhere. I have a great last evening in Houston! I can only recommend to experience a lunch here!
My family and I enjoyed dinner last night. Avery was our server and she provided excellent service. Estella was our chef, although she was a little quiet for me, her cooking skills were on point. She cooked our steak perfectly along with the lobster tail, rice and veggies. My only recommendation to the owners/managers is that they desperately need a better ventilation system.
It was a very unique experience going here. I had a good time, but your experience here will be determined by the chef you receive. I had a hard time hearing anything the server was asking me, but I was really impressed by the cooking performance. This is not a place I would go to alone, it is definitely intended for groups or couples.
Lamb shank very good, but nothing memorable. The food is good, if you want a delicious meal at a reasonable price, I would recommend. The atmosphere is nice and comfortable and the staff was very attentive.
THUMBS DOWN!! 125 for the food you see in the pics… poor service disengaged employees and not enough space for chefs to cook. Our chef didn’t even care… we were celebrating my partners birthday and should have really taken our money elsewhere. We thought it would be a good experience but this place is run down. The cocktails are basically ice with maybe 1 oz of drink in it… the chef threw the little extra food in trash instead of offering to the people on the table. It was all just super weird. We waited forever for our check and we had to get up and get them to check us out. Overall really poor and we will not be coming back to this even though we live down the street from it!!
⭐ 1 Star — Extremely Disappointing Experience This was, without question, one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. The restaurant refused to honor the discount clearly printed on their own gift card. Instead of acknowledging the issue, the manager insisted on a “per table” policy that is not written anywhere on the card or in their terms. What made the situation worse was the manager’s attitude — rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Her tone came across as discriminatory, and she even walked over to our table to ask if we “needed further explanation,” which felt condescending and completely unnecessary. Between the dishonesty, the lack of accountability, and the disrespectful behavior, this place has lost all credibility. I will not be returning, and I strongly recommend others avoid this restaurant. There are plenty of places that value their customers and honor their own policies — this is not one of them.
I visited yesterday and I was very disappointed with the Sabzi The amount of beans is double than the normal I barely Tasted spinach server asked me if everything was good. I sent that to him. He didn’t comment anything. The amount of rice is OK. The bread was good Bathinjan was so good but The amount is very little paid around $70 and I didn’t enjoy the food, The server need to be trained as well when he talked to us he was Standing on the edge of the table not on the center
We were looking to try something new and someone had recommended Kasra to us so we decided to check it out. After a 25min wait, we were seated at a table between two very large parties; it was uncomfortable and there was no room. We said we were not uncomfortable and were told this was the only table. Jacob our waiter was really good and came quickly to get our order but the encroachment from the parties was too much so we asked to move. Both hosts were very unaccommodating and inhospitable and that made the entire experience bad! the experience got worse when we got the food. the eggplant was filled with garlic and had no other flavor, the persian salad literally had no flavor nor taste and was just cut up cucumbers and tomatoes with nothing else, the rice with the kabobs also were very plain and no taste, and the kabobs also did not taste good. overall bad customer service by the host and bad food - the only saving grace was our water Jacob who was very good
We had the most miserable experience here. We had dinner reservations at 7:30. When we arrived they told us they were running 25 minutes schedule. We went into the bar area to have a drink and wait for our table. The place was chaotic there were dirty dishes, empty drink glasses and napkins piling up everywhere. We were finally seated at our hibachi table around 8:20 pm. Our waiter took our drink orders for our table, but forgot my husband’s drinks. He then took our food orders and disappeared again. Still no drinks for my husband despite a 2nd request. Our hibachi chef didn’t arrive to begin cooking food until after 9pm. He showed up at the table just as we’re were talking about walking out of there. We had lost our appetites by that point, and the other diners at our hibachi table were saying the same thing. We had to remind our waiter a 3rd time that my husband was still waiting for his drinks. When our food was served I told him I didn’t have a fork, and also requested teriyaki sauce. After waiting more than 10 minutes he still hadn’t returned with my fork. He finally reappeared in the room and someone at our table saw him walking by (without my fork and teriyaki sauce…) and had to flag him down to remind him that I was still waiting on a fork so I could start eating. By the time he brought it I was so angry and annoyed that I didn’t even eat my food. Our entire table was expressing their frustration and anger. This was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. They need to completely overhaul their service team.
Extremely bad experience. I went there during happy hour to try their burger. I know Benihana and orders a burger, but that’s what I was in the mood for. It took them around 25 minutes to get my burger and it was the wrong order not to mention the place smells atmosphere is depressing and the bartender is very ignorant about the menu and had attitude. The fries is obviously one of the cheap frozen ones not edible at all. Although the bun was regular size the patty is the size of a happy meal patty. I doubt I want to try anything else in that restaurant. They need a whole new management from the kitchen to the bar to the house.
Waste of $90 dollars!! Was planning to go to Benihana’s for my birthday, but with a newborn we decided to order to-go. HUGE MISTAKE. We were extremely disappointed with the amount of food in the Togo containers, complete waste of time and money. If the portions are this small, maybe think about lowering your To-go prices. Also you don’t even speak to a real person when ordering food, so we were unable to change the meal how we wanted. Huge disappointment for a birthday dinner, do not recommends.
