Came here early-ish Saturday evening and it wasn't packed or loud. Easy to mingle and walk around from there to other close bars. I'd love to visit again.

We go there to play pool, however they ONLY have one pool table.... Another one would do justice. The decor is immaculate though, and bartender is super friendly! Love the energy and vibes.

Catbirds is a Montrose institution. Back in the day this place was a wild dive bar. Of course as the times changed, the bar has evolved. They shutdown, and for a while we scared that the beloved Catbirds was shuttered for good. But the she rose from the ashes like a phoenix. The drink menu was amped up, now offering delicious craft cocktails. They still offer Lone Star at the cheapest price I’ve found in Montrose. Their prices range to keep an eclectic clientele. You never know who you’ll be sitting next to. The service is great. Love Liberty. She’s the nicest bartender ever. But the entire team is equally attentive, kind and knowledgeable. One of my favorite things about Catbirds is how inclusive it is. They proudly hang the rainbow flag behind the bar. It’s not a “gay bar”, but it is a safe space. I love this bar and hope it never goes anywhere.

Catbirds is hands down my go-to bar in Houston. After its 2023 facelift, it now perfectly blends the charm of a dive bar with top-notch service and high-quality drinks. The staff is the best in town—always friendly and attentive. I love the pop-up food events, the clean bathrooms, and the variety of fun weekly happenings that keep things fresh. Whether you're a regular or a first-timer, Catbirds offers an unbeatable experience.

RONNNIE WAS SO GREAT; despite not going out so much, as a member of the industry myself, he made me feel seen and appreciated despite a busy, busy night. The best bar in Montrose to just chill and have a drink at. Beer is cheap compared to other Montrose Bars. Bartenders are always nice. The outdoor area is small but cozy and you'll always end up talking to cool people.

Creative, friendly, dive bar with great service. A bit pricey but it is prime real estate. The bartender was very knowledgeable.

Don't miss the special weekly events like live music and drag queen trivia (no, not trivia about drag queens, I mean trivia hosted by drag queens punctuated by dance performances).

The other customers, the vibes and the entertainment are great! The drinks suck. The bartenders are rude and they take out their own tip. Its like, who farted in your beer? Not me, I just got here. But, if you go with friends and you’re not the one going to the bar to ask for a drink and you also like cheap liquor, you’ll have a great time! They definitely switch the liquor. And there are no “craft cocktails”. It’s a bar bar and they only sell American beer so you know they don’t have great drinks lol.
