Mayne.... I love the Breakfast Board concept. The wings are crunchy yet still juicy, and the waffles are thick with a slight crisp. I didn't want to do the Advocado Toast, but I did. It happened. Haha. Soooo worth it, especially with a side of bacon. (Yeah...yeah... ignore how I took a healthy meal into what I WANTED IT TO BE. Move around. :-)...). Service....pshhh... it's busy but the entire team from morning to evening shift was on point, present, and knowledgeable. Bar was quick with drinks. Hennessy Side Car and Espressso Martini were both great. Destiny and CeCe (sp??) Were great, especially during the shift change. They split tips, so if possible, pay and tip in cash so they leave with bread in their pockets. Owner...or GM (IDK) moved around, kept a vibe and checked on his staff from servers, bar, security, and bussers. Shared the love with everyone. (IYKYK) Atmosphere: If you're unhappy, then you just don't love life. (I said it...). Music alone is at a volume that keeps the crowd engaged and moving. DJ was on point with the best list. The snare drummer walks around and engages the guests, allows them to try thier best to play along and is on point with the DJ. Sheesh!!! Took everything in me not to ask for the sticks. Lolol. As you can tell, I can't say enough about Clutch. But I will 'cause I need to try the hookah (and to get in that snare :-z). I was told it was only $40 for the hookah and had a variety of flavors by a guest seated next to us. Let me stop now. I have much love to you and the culture you brought to the Heights area. <3 Aurora. JK... Not done.... I should have read previous reviews because I was shocked to see an average of 3.5 stars. Firstly. Racist/Colorist was not on display at ANY point during the 3 hours we were there. It's unfortunate to hear that people felt that way, but we will never know the whole story. Jordans not being allowed... lies. So many people were in Js and they dressed their color ways to perfection. I will say, I did not see a single person dressed down. And I wouldn't come casual for an exceptional establishment like Clutch. The staff does not show up looking lazy, so don't do them a disservice by not coming to have a good time and feeling your best. Simple.

We ordered two Don Julio shots and a breakfast platter that serves 4-6 people and the total was just a little over $100. The breakfast food was all so good! Had more than enough food To go as well. Atmosphere was nice. We sat at the bar. We went around 11 am and there was a nice crowd.

Came in and had the avocado breakfast sandwich and the watermelon mint margaritas! Michelle was our server and was making sure our drinks stayed filled!

It’s was a nice atmosphere sucks you have to pay $10 for parking and then after an hour they come to your table and tell you your time is up … And on the checks they charge 20% gratuity automatic on every transaction

Bar tender was nice. Tried a new drink. Can’t remember the name of it though. I’ll just call it lemonade deliciousness. Chicken sandwich was fantastic. I also ate something that tasted like ceviche, and it was fresh as could be. I highly recommend.

Good food and a good time! The vibe is great. The DJ was good on Sunday. I will definitely be returning. On Sundays the best time to go in my opinion is in between brunch ending at 3 and 5 before the kitchen opens back up. The margarita flight is cute in presentation, strong on the tequila, and good in taste. The mimosa tower is great as well and a very decent price. I think the shots are overpriced but they were also good. The bartenders and bottle girls are sweet. When it's busy with large groups they get very slack with circling back around to check on you. The hookah is good and you can pay with cash app which is always convenient. The flavors with mint were better in my opinion. The food is good and comes out quickly.

I was nervous reading all of the other reviews. But they were actually very accommodating to our large party 14 turned to 20 and no issues on dress code. We did go on a Saturday early brunch so I'm not sure if that's different for a night crowd. But the food was really good, the patron tree was good, the prices were reasonable. We didn't have a wait because we arrived a little after 11 when they opened but as we were leaving I heard there was a 2 hour wait. I don't have any complaints outside of parking $20 but that was to be expected for the location.

I had an amazing brunch experience at Clutch in Houston over the weekend! The ambiance was perfect with a great open-air flow, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. I ordered the Clutch Breakfast Platter, which was fantastic. The eggs were nice and fluffy, and the pancakes and waffles were delicious. The platter also came with perfectly cooked potatoes, bacon, and sausage. We also indulged in a Mimosa Tower and a Patron Tower, both of which were excellent. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would definitely come back whenever I’m in Houston again! Highly recommend!

I like clutch but I can get kinda packed on weekends no standing room but bar tenders were attentive and friendly and a cool vibe with the crowd bouncers were cool too no entry fee which I like relaxed dress code for men for Washington avenue that’s a plus

Good bar with friendly staff and plenty of TV's. The food menu looked good but we only had drinks this time around. They don't have diet drinks for some reason which seems strange; therefore, no rum & diet cokes.. hmmm.. The lack of diet drinks got them a 1 star deduction as that might be a turnoff for more people then just myself.

Great atmosphere, Dope D.J & Chill vibes! Drinks were $10-$15 per w/tip. Will be returning with more time to party.

As we pulled into the parking lot we were greeted by a parking attendant who charged us $10 to park for self parking. We had reservations and were seated promptly our waiter Sadie was amazing. She had over five tables and managed to still provide outstanding customer service and personality Not to mention her make up was so cute. The food was OK it was fresh and it came out in a reasonable amount of time. The waffle was plain but the burger was 10/10! The music was great and the atmosphere was a vibe. We didn’t like that we had to pay for parking. Overall a good experience I will come back.

Went here for lunch, but instead, they had brunch & and on a Friday. That was cool. I had their brunch burger served with an egg & was very good. My wifey ordered the avocado toast and also topped with an egg. Our drinks were the michelada & my wife had the "Just in Time". Our friends had a peach crown mixer. All the food & drinks were good. We did have a little confusion with the whole brunch thing. They weren't serving from their lunch menu items at that time (12pm) during "brunch". They said they don't start serving from their lunch until about 2 or 4. Idk... so we didn't get to try anything from their lunch items, which looked good. Oh well, I think they should've just called it something different other than brunch. Just my 2 cents. The only other issue that bothered me was the loud music. It was good music, but it was so loud that I had to yell just to talk. We couldn't even hear the waitress. And I don't recommend taking your kids their at that time cause the music is explicit. All though I think it's cool they have a live DJ playing.

We sat at the bar for brunch, which was delicious. Music was on point with a live atmosphere. The only problem is that the service sucks. As we were placing our, she rudely walked away and began clearing another area of the bar (not too far but not close enough to here us either). If gratuity wasn't already included, she would not have received a damn cent from me.

This was my first time there, I went during brunch, the specials don't start til 3pm. The patron drink was good, not too strong and the avocado toast I has was delicious. I'm not sure if they don't have servers since my guest and I sat for almost an hr and then we went up to the bar to order. Otherwise, vibes are nice. There is a $10 parking fee. We went on a Sunday around 11:30am, waitress told us we only have an hour and a half to dine because they have to get the wait list ppl in. It would be extended if you get a bottle service. Mimosa or tequila tower not included. The food was really good. On point. Do was good and on point as well I suppose. They do not split bills. However, we did stay over the time we said we have and they didn't put us out. Idk if they would've if the situation had changed. Otherwise I would still visit again more prepared. Definitely encourage you to make a reservation if you can. Reservations are only for 8 ppl and up.

Clutch is a great ambiance and the drinks are cool.* Emphasis on just cool, because their patron tower drinks reminded me of a sonic slush. In terms, that they were watered down with little no alcohol. If they could fix that I would say the drinks are great. The food is a 0/10, I went during brunch and it reminded me of middle school lunch. Everything is pre-made and dropped in grease. The chicken and waffles reminded me of Tyson’s chicken and eggo waffles. The French toast is definitely from the frozen aisle. Make sure you eat before you come. I damn near almost cried because the food was just not it. But now let’s focus on the positive, the ambiance is FANTASTIC! Great Dj, great bartenders and reasonable prices for their drinks! The service is also good as well.

The atmosphere was cool, but I left my card in the receipt booklet and as we speak someone is trying to swipe my card for $85 repeatedly. Not cool I left my card around 1pm it’s now 10pm!! You mean to tell me when she picked up the receipt she didn’t see my card in it all day or is the waitress the one trying to swipe it???

This is a chill bar some times and then other times it gets live with loud music. Don't know what you'll get. Good variety of food and draft beer. Outdoors and indoors.

3.5* It was great, we actually got served right away. The waiter was super friendly. But the price for the "big breakfast " was Not worth the price(-.5*). We were expecting a big amount for 3 Ppl. We had to order 2 avacado toast which was amazing. They forgot the egg on the second avacado toast but they fixed it right away. We also order the mimosa tower and in total it was $112 plus tip for a party of 3. -.5* bc the cups looked dirty but it's bc they use plastic so eventually it looks unclean with time but one was dirty I wiped it and the dry dirty water came off. I didn't bother saying anything bc they were busy, nothing that a simple napkin w/water can't fix right?! =) -. 5* the table we kept wobbling so we were worried our drink will fall which it did at the end of our meals. Lol we had to cut our food cautiously to avoid a spill in our food. Other than that it was a nice place. We didn't get to buy the patrón tree, we saw it at the last minute when we were done. Next time we will try it out 😊. We came here bc the Sporting Club we needed reservations to eat inside and no where in the Google map it said that. So we were disappointed, after finishing at clutch, the Sporting Club was still empty. So glad this place was near by.

Went on a Saturday morning when it wasn’t packed and that was the absolute best. The mimosa tower was a great price. The DJ was absolutely amazing. Unfortunately they wanted us to pay Vip parking, even though it was handicap. That itself was the biggest turn off. Establishments that charge gratuity is very unfortunate for the servers because I do feel that that makes them a little on the lazier side as well as the person that I am is going to tip way more than what they’re gonna get based off an automatic 18% gratuity.

The parking situation is ridiculous. Used the qr code and it said good until 6am...it was 5:47pm...get inside, order a hookah $40, and look at my phone and sew a text that said my parking was about to expire. The bartender said you have to pay again after 6pm...what?! I just paid $24.01! Look at my receipt and sure enough it says until 6pm! Other people had boots so we had to watch the car the entire time to be sure we didnt get booted...couldn't even enjoy ourselves so we left! Uber there if you can, otherwise you can't turn up!

Don’t bother making a reservation you’re still going to have to wait 30-45 minutes for a table. Food was blah/bland/could be better. How do you run outta waffles on your busiest day and then serve us frozen pancakes. They should add a time limit on people spending legit hours there.

My party of 5 waited for a table for hours at Sunday brunch. We ended up sitting at the bar to wait and still never got a table. We orders our food at the bar and it all was cold. The drinks needed extra shots that cost the same as the drinks. Over all I give it a 3 out of 10.

So I am from Louisiana and came to Houston for a good time for the weekend. Clutch was a place that I’ve been meaning to get to so I made it my mission to get there this weekend and sad to say I was very disappointed. I don’t know if it’s just because I’m from out of town but paying to park at an Establishment that you are dining in is so confusing I’m already spending money here. Pulled up to clutch and was told $10 to park and they only take cash. I didn’t have cash and had to go to the ATM. Once I came back the same guy who told me $10 told me the price was now $20 like what the heck. I booked a reservation online for me and my wife and when we arrive, they said they don’t do reservations which kind of makes me confused seeing other reviewers say that they also made reservations and was seated promptly. Honestly, the place is a get in where you fit in type of vibe , if there’s a space occupy it especially at the bar. But just to sum things up my biggest disappointment Was the fact that I ordered French toast and chicken wings and when my plate came back out, there were pancakes on it. They didn’t accommodate me Or notify me that there would be a change in my order and didn’t give me the option to replace it. The bartender told me that as soon as he put my order in, they Replied to him that they were out of French toast, but again he didn’t come back and informed me on them. The pancakes were literally microwavable. This place is definitely a vibe. I would go back there maybe for drinks and maybe something real simple on the menu but I didn’t Like the communication and it honestly seems a bit chaotic and unorganized.

The waiter had pretty good service. Overall the food and drinks to me were not good. I had chicken and waffles with the patron drinks that come on a tower. The waiter did advise that they don't allow you to split the check more than two ways.

Updated: After reading other reviews I went back to check my receipts. Every single transaction is charged gratuity. There is also a card transaction fee. Neither is posted nor mentioned verbally. Now it makes sense. Why provide quality service if you are getting tipped either way. Below are the receipts I still happened to have. Original : The Paloma pitcher was 🔥. However, I was tended to more by the bussers than the wait staff. To the point we gave up on the wait staff and were going back and forth to the bar to request our tower refilled ECT. In my opinion the mimosas were mostly juice. The water that was "available" was never refilled. I asked that certain elements of the nachos be put on the side. They brought out everything on the side w/o any type of utensils. The RR door was propped open for some odd reason. Not to mention at one point they turned off the a/c in TX summer heat with an open area that leads to the sm patio area.

Whether you are from here or out of town- I would not have it on my itinerary. 1st- it's 20 dollar parking. Unless you're planning to be there for hours, it's not worth it. 2nd- their attire policy is weird. I would try to get confirmation before you go since you cannot wear certain shoes but you can wear sandals. It was pretty hot whether you sat inside or out since they do not have a closed building. We were served pretty quickly but at this point, we weren't very excited to try anything. The drinks come in plastic over glass cups which could be understandable but came across as cheap. The drinks themselves were okay in taste and subpar in alcohol ratio. We had a spicy pineapple and a Paloma. The chicken and waffles tasted good but again- pretty standard wherever you go. It was not something I would go to it you're visiting as the vibe they were going for is one you can find done better in your city. They did have good music though.

I had a reservation for two. When we arrived we were told it was $10 to park. Then on our ticket they charged 20% gratuity. (Brunch time) The music was super loud. You can’t really hear the person in front of you. Definitely overhyped and ridiculously priced. You can catch a vibe anywhere in Houston so don’t let that drive you to Clutch.

Stood at the hostess stand for over 30 minutes before an employee informed us of open seating. Once seated, we waited nearly another 30 minutes before a waitress came over. She then informed us that the kitchen was closed, which brunch was the main reason we came.

I would give zero stars but that’s impossible. The bartender attempted to make me a drink. Dropped the drink then try to make it a shot from what was left. When I asked her to make another drink because I didn’t want a shot she got very nasty and tried to argue than have me removed from the bar. The bar is very active but everyone should be treated fairly as a paying customer. Disappointment.

They allowed me to make a reservation at 2:30pm, I got there the host is texting never even looked up with them nasty nubby fingers. I told her I was here for my reservation and she said “the wait is a hour and even when you sit we wouldn’t feed you because the kitchen would be closed” probably the WORST establishment I have EVER experienced. They need to be shut down immediately and turned into something else with better customer service

Me and my friends arrived from out of town and came to the Cluth before we board our flight. Once our food came out we noticed a bug at first then we they offered to remake it the second time we noticed plastic in one of our meals. The waitress took our id and debit cards and made it a big deal when we asked to speak to a manager. She continued to hold our id for whatever reason. Im not even sure why Id and debit cards have to be held but terrible service and a terrible experience WOULD NOT RECOMMEND !!

I wish I could give a 0 stars to this place. I walked into this place there's no host or waiters to let you know you sit yourself. The bar tender just looked at me and didn't try to let me know I could sit anywhere. I sat down eventually and waited to get a menu or some kind of service while I was waiting on my party to get here. Nothing happened till my friend went to the bar to ask who will give us a menu so he finally gave a qr code menu. The bar tender charged a 20% gratuity for 4 people which makes no scene. Kevin's cavalier attitude, epitomized by his callous suggestion to "split up or leave," reflects a culture of indifference that permeates Clutch Houston.Beyond the inconvenience, this experience strikes at the core of hospitality, leaving an indelible mark on the collective memory of those present. It is regrettable that such a revered establishment could fall short of even the most basic expectations of service and professionalism. In light of this egregious misstep, I am compelled to caution fellow gastronomes against entrusting their dining experiences to Clutch Houston. Until fundamental improvements are enacted, it remains a regrettable stain on the culinary landscape of our beloved city.

Drove from Dallas to enjoy some time away. Came here and received horrible service! This guy was the rudest person I’ve met! He acted as if he was annoyed with us when we tried to request anything. Our food didn’t come out with our friends food even tho we were on the same table! The waitress or whatever they are jus sit around on their phones! Bottom line the service is horrible

After I told them that flies were on the oranges and limes they just wrapped it . And didn’t throw it away. Be safe out here consuming fly eggs . No telling what goes on in the kitchen .

Yea don’t eat here. 100 dollars for 4 people and we all drank water plus a 15.00 gratuity . It wasn’t busy in the restaurant and the waitress took her sweet time getting to us. We were attacked by flies the whole time. So how was the food? Uh you could have stayed home and cooked this.. wasn’t special at all. But yea the flies again was horrible. There was a little taco truck across the street that has better food. And there was about 7 things on the brunch menu.

If you’re military don’t come here!!!! They let employees smoke weed in this place. Halfway through our meal I had to walk out. Multiple workers were smoking weed in the middle of the restaurant and no one did anything. Be careful at this place.

I walked out of the bathroom and one of the servers bulldozed into me. I told her to watch it, and she said she had something for me and then brought a large man to start pushing me. I told him to unhand me and he wouldn’t. Kept pushing me until I was outside. I asked to speak with a manager and the door guy said there wasn’t one. Literally run away from this nasty horrible establishment. The bathrooms were all filthy and didn’t flush. It was a nightmare on earth.

This spot ruin the experience of Houston Texas for me. The bacon was undercooked, and the pancakes and waffles tasted disgusting. Not only that the service was awful.. Our waitress barely interacted with us wasn’t sociable didn’t smile look like she hated her job and wasn’t helpful. They also include gratuity within the bill and don’t split checks. For anyone visiting Houston do not waste your time at this brunch spot.. The only thing good I will say that came out of this spot was the DJ.

DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! If I could give this place zero stars I would, it was Trash capital T! Everybody was so rude it’s insane, from the guy asking for ID’s to the bartender who wasn’t even polite enough to open his mouth when I asked questions about the menu. You can see how nasty the table was and even the floor. There was no one attending to us you had to go order everything at the bar. We ordered the Patron tree and the breakfast board. The food was cold and no silverware was provided, only flimsy plastic forks and knives to eat waffles and pancakes with. After more than 40 minutes no patron tree in sight, I had to ask a passing by waitress about it for her to tell me that we have to go get this big thing (see pictures) ourselves at the bar. The bartender made no communication about it that we had to come get it at the bar when I placed the order. And it doesn’t make sense since the food was brought to the table by a waiter. They were supposed to be frozen margaritas and as you can see they were all watery by the time I went to the bar to pick them up. I confronted the bartender about it and he is going to tell me with an attitude that I had to come pick it up here (which he didn’t mention) and anyways he did not know where I was. Thing I didn’t understand since the Patron tree had our table number on it. And the big finally, the cherry on top of the cake, they added a $14 gratuity (for a party of 2 people) to the worst service I’ve ever received in my entire life. Do not go waste your money there please, it’s not worth it at all. Houston has better spots for brunch, I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!

First Time On Washington Ave And This Just Wasnt My Vibe. It Took My Bestfriend A Good 20 Min To Be Acknowledged At The Bar…It Wasnt Even Busy Yet. The Music Was Mid. It Gets Real Packed But Everybody Just Stands Around Looking At Each Other. Weirdest Experience Ever Won’t Be Back.

I came for hookah and drinks. Let’s start off by saying the drinks are good so it’s not one complaint in that dept. The music is good and mixed genre but DAMN it’s extremely loud. There was one waitress waiting 7-10 tables and was the only one. Now onto the main reason of me coming for which was the hookah! Bruh mixed the hookah and had it ready in less than a minute. When I told him I only taste SMOKE & the LOVE 66 which was one of the flavors. He took it back three different times. When I told him he could take it back. He wanted to argue with me that the flavors are there. Listen, I get hookah at a lot of places but when I tell you this was the lowest of quality and worst service ever from the hookah people. I’d never get hookah from here and I advise you to save your money unless you want something mediocre.

Nice location. Decent food and drinks. Very friendly bar tender….HOWEVER, everything is plastic…glassware, utensils, etc. Really makes the place seem cheap. Music is extremely loud and only hip hop?? which is ok, but unexpected. Would be nice to have a variety AND BEWARE of PREDATORY PARKING …we got our vehicle booted and paid $138 to get it off. Barely visible signs, it is very easy to miss them especially when it seems there is so much parking like any other restaurant in the area. Very disappointing. Will never go back.
