Quick, easy and friendly service. The cafe sua da was strong and had great flavor. We got the beignet pillows for easier snacking and they’re sooo soft and pillowy! I like mine with honey but wasn’t a fan of the brand they use. Our son likes it with the powdered sugar. We would definitely visit again based on this experience.
Chez Beignets was such a great stop! I We ordered the Beignets Pillows, and they were the perfect sweet treat—soft, fluffy, and just the right amount of sweetness. Paired with a cup of coffee, it was absolutely delicious and so satisfying. Everything felt fresh and comforting, and it made for a really enjoyable café experience. I’d definitely come back for another round.
5 stars for the rice rolls (banh cuon). Freshly made in house and tasted exactly like the ones you get in Vietnam. Beignets are just okay in my opinion but my husband liked them. Salted cream coffee was pretty decent. Tables need some cleaning in between guests. Will definitely be back for the rice rolls.
This is a must-have when you visit Little Saigon. We drove into town and hit our usual spots, to top off the night we picked up our favorite beignets. This place has been around for 100 years+, the staff is always friendly. The drinks are good, and the beignets are top shelf. Before leaving Houston ofc we had to pick some up for the road. This place has a great atmosphere at night as well. It was around 8 pm. on a Sunday. They were setting up for karaoke, and the place was very lively.
The Dac Biet Banh Cuon is made to order, so fresh! Tasted very good. The fish sauce with the their homemade crush peppers is really spicy but it’s a good type of spicy! Very delicious! I will definitely come back and bring friends with me. The beignets were delicious! Definitely recommend this place! I did eat the homemade Vietnamese yogurt and reminded me of my mom’s, so delicious!
Woke up early in the morning craving banh cuon (rice rolls, crepes). While the Dac Biet (combination) was the go-to, they have varying options on how you can customize your platter. To top it off they have beignets in varying shapes with your squeeze bottle honey. Such a refreshing experience to be eating at a surprising great combination of styles.
So, this is my first time to try Beignets, like ever. And Since we were close by, we tried this place out. We just ordered beignets and some Taro smoothies. Didnt really go for anything else since we just ate a big buffet, this was our dessert. AND BOY OH BOY, THEY WERE DELICIOUS. The beignets were light and fluffy, and eating them hot was just perfection. AND I GOTTA ADD, the Taro Smoothie with pearls...ITS THE BEST TARO SMOOTHIE I'VE EVER HAD. It was so good i bought another before leaving. Will definitely come back 👍
GREAT PLACE! Highly recommend the beignets & the crème brûlée. The beignets come out plain, you add your own honey & powdered sugar which is great if you’re like me who wants more sugar than their bf who doesn’t. The people working were so nice, informative, and patient. Also, this order for the beignets we got was a small. When we asked for a to-go bag they included to-go syrup & sugar as well. Their crème brûlée was so good I had to buy an extra one. Their facilities are also very well kept and clean. Definitely coming back. 🥳
Food is pretty good priced a little high imo but man the viet coffee is literally the best in the city if I have to say so! No matter the day and time I’m down to go get some! Best pick me up after a big lunch!
I haven’t tried much here, just the beignets. I wish I had a chance to try them fresh in store! The time I went (around 6pm) wasn’t busy at all and the only other people in the establishment besides the person taking orders and cooking was a couple. The vibe was okay. Id be willing to go back.
We stopped by Chez Beignet Quan Ong in Houston to hang out for a bit and enjoy some coffee and treats. The cafe sua da was smooth and enjoyable—not too sweet and with a nice bold flavor. The beignets were just as impressive—soft, pillowy, and freshly made. A great little spot to relax and satisfy your sweet tooth.
We went during slow time, after lunch. Most drinks were good, just one drink is too sweet. Their bánh cuốn is freshly made right there which is good, corn milk also good. The mashed avocado wasn’t up to our expectation. During the day, sitting at the patio is good as long as it’s not too hot.
1st time here. 1st impression of this place was something burning or overcooked. Must have been my beignets. Only ate 1 out of 12 we ordered because it tasted overdone. I'm hoping they aren't using recycled cooking oil from the day before. The place looks nice and the staff was friendly.
The guy at the cash register could have been more welcoming. We have never been here before and he made us feel rushed. Afterwards he messed up our order and acted like it was our fault and gave my wife an unnecessary rude and sassy attitude. Everything else was great
Came here for the first time four days ago on Saturday because I was craving some beignets. Reason why I'm giving this restaurant 1 star: 1. I was not greeted upon walk in. The employees continued to glance, continue talking and laughing, and did not say a word to me. I stood at the counter for almost 4 minutes and right when I told myself to leave and go elsewhere, was when an employee came around to take my order. 2. No one apologized for the wait. No one apologized for keeping me waiting or even acknowledged that I was waiting for almost five minutes before being attended to. This is a pretty small coffee shop so they saw me. We locked eyes several times. 3. There was a stark difference in how I was treated versus the rest of the customers. Everyone in the restaurant looked like them and I observed how the employees treated them. They were very kind and attentive. Not sure what it was about me that made them treat me differently; actually I do believe I know what it is which is why I'll never come back here. 4. They charge you 3 percent of your entire order if you pay with a card and not cash. Mind you, there is no sign or anything advising of this extra fee which I feel like is sneaky and unethical. I had cash in my car and had I known there was a fee for using my card, I would've just went back to my car and paid in cash. Charging customers extra fees without informing them is stealing. Plain and simple. 5. They refused to touch the buzzer when I attempted to hand it over to them to get my order when was ready. They acted like I had some kind of disease and no one wanted to touch it so I simply slid it on the counter and grabbed my order. No one told me to please come back and visit them again, have a great day, or anything. They just walked off after I took my order. These people here are so rude, my goodness. All in all, were the beignets good? Sure. I'd actually give the beignets itself a sold 9/10- some of the best beignets I have ever tasted. But would I be back to this establishment? Absolutely not. And I will be sure to tell others who look like me to avoid this place.
