I don’t write a lot of reviews because I’m typically stuck in my own kitchen. It was cold today and I was craving some 떡만두국 (rice cake and dumpling soup) and 돼지불고기 (sweet and spicy marinated pork). MDK did not let me down. Everything I ordered was absolutely delicious and authentic, their house-made kimchi was awesome, and the owner was incredibly nice. 10/10 highly recommend this place.
Very inviting atmosphere. delicious authentic Korean dishes. they even had raw fermented skate that you could add to your dish. really fresh flavors. You have to wait a little bit of time in order to have the freshly made and freshly prepared dishes come to the table, but it’s worth the wait what’s nice is that this location shares a hallway to the Ramen Alley. Stacie, the owner, owns both and if Someone in your party wants to get Ramen instead, they might be able to have it there and bring it over. Clean interior and friendly staff. Parking can be tough in this location as it shares with many other retail stores and restaurants.
This might be my new goto korean place. The fried pork dumplings were fantastic, the spicy pork bulogio was awesome and I've never had a seafood pancake better than this. Service was a bit slower than we expected considering we were the only table there but it was acceptable.
We went here for dinner on Friday. The place is spacious and clean. Our waiter gave us barley tea to try. We also asked for water if we didn’t want the tea. We tried kimchi pork dumplings, seafood pancake, galbi, and bulgogi bibimbap with fried egg. The banchan (Kimchi and vinegary cabbage) were homemade and gave each one of us our own separate ones. You can ask for more if you wanted to. We will definitely come back and try their other dishes.
My recent visit to MDK NOODLES has solidified its place as a top contender for the best Korean food in Houston. The star of the show, without a doubt, is their incredible handmade noodles. The cold chewy noodles with bulgogi were a revelation – the texture of the noodles was perfectly springy and satisfying, and the combination with the sweet and savory bulgogi was simply divine. The seafood pancake was another highlight, boasting a delightful crispiness and a generous amount of fresh seafood. The kimchi with pork dumplings were juicy and flavorful, with the perfect balance of spice and savory pork. What truly sets MDK noodles apart is the exceptional quality of their ingredients and the care put into each dish. The side dishes were also noteworthy, with incredibly generous portions and a fantastic variety. And the kimchi? Absolutely the best I've tasted in Houston – perfectly fermented and bursting with flavor. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, with a genuinely chill vibe, and the staff were friendly and attentive, making for a truly enjoyable dining experience. If you're looking for authentic, soul-satisfying Korean cuisine, especially handmade noodles that are truly special, MDK noodles is a must-visit.
This place is really nice inside, great light, and a good Saturday lunch spot. Service was good, server was friendly and recommended the pan-fried dumplings. So glad we tried them, so different than any pan-fried we had tried. Delicious, and good sauces on the table to try. We also got shrimp steamed dumplings, and the kitchen, cabbage and turnips for starters were good too.
We love MDK. I recommend the beef bulgogi, spicy stir fried squid, and the bibimbap! The kimchi and spinach was fresh. Stop by for your next Korean meal.
So happy to have found this place via a recent recommendation who raved about their dumplings & kalguksu (Korean noodles in hot soup). My wife & I ordered the 2 hot soups & dumpling combo (which offers a $4 saving) and my son ordered the galbi (Korean BBQ shortribs). The food was on point in terms of genuine Korean food taste & the portion size was pretty decent at a reasonable price in this day & age. I also enjoyed the kimchi that was served as a side dish so much that we took the leftovers in a to-go box! I would definitely like to return to try the other menu items!
Was looking for a lunch place and decided we wanted noodles. Had no idea there was place like this. Noodles and dumpling mad in house. All the food was hot, fresh and delicious. Thought I was at my mom’s for a minute.

Was looking for a lunch place and decided we wanted noodles. Had no idea there was place like this. Noodles and dumpling mad in house. All the food was hot, fresh and delicious. Thought I was at my mom’s for a minute.
Went here for dinner, food came out relatively fast. Service was good, the restaurant was clean. The steamed pork dumplings and pan fried dumplings were really good! The hot soup noodles and tteboki were just okay.
Our first time here, the kimchi banchan was so tasty. Their Galbi and Bibim Naengmyeon were good. Mul Naengmyeon was a bit salty, we did not enjoy it. Service was nice.
Galbi was some of the best I've had so far in Houston, very nicely flavored. The nengmyun noodles were a bit more pickled/sour-tasting than I've had, but still good. All of the noodles and vegetables tasted great and fresh, although there was not any meat included like at other places we've tried. Service was prompt and polite. Would recommend for anyone wanting to try something different from the usual Korean BBQ joint.
Noodles tasted fresh and broth was flavorful. We had the regular knife cut noodles with chicken broth and the spicy version. Both come with 3 wontons that were so good. I was impressed with the broth, not too salty, and the kimchi on the side was yummy! They serve barley tea as well. Will come back to try the bulgogi pancake, just wish it wasn't so pricey.
I recently got to try this place and it’s now one of my favorite places to get Korean food in Houston. I especially enjoyed trying the spicy cold noodles which they are known for. The noodles are the perfect level of chewiness and also a good mix of spiciness and flavor. Here’s everything I tried: Kimchi - Tasted so fresh, homemade, and authentic. Pretty spicy, and probably the best kimchi I’ve had in Houston! Rice Cake Soup - The rice cakes were a perfect addition to this yummy soup Mixed Spicy Wheat Noodles - Perfect noodle chewiness texture, also served with veggies and an egg Bulgogi Bibimbap - Served in a stone bowl, so the rice is nice and crispy at the bottom 😋☺️ Seafood Pancake - Was made fresh and had a nice crispy texture! Beef Bulgogi - Had a nice sweet flavor, served with rice The lady at the counter is so friendly and the service is very fast and friendly in general.
Loved their Kimchi and Rice Dumpling Soup. The service was good and you have plenty of sitting space too.
Pretty wide variety of Korean food in one place. I liked the broth of the kalguksoo a lot. Very thick and very savory with chicken flavor. The noodles seem to be store bought however vs handmade. The cholmyun was decent as was the dongchimi noodles. The dongchimi soup was quite refreshing, the noodles were an interesting green thin flat noodle. The ddukppoki was a little bland or missing something.

3rd visit: brought different friends and a different child. tried regular noodles which were much better. The pork dumplings were excellent and fresh. The kimchi jeon (pancake) was largely tasteless and had more squash than kimchi. The kimchi dolsot was finished because the kids were hungry but there was an all over bitterness to the food… maybe it’s the gochugaru but it didn’t taste authentic Korean… —- Typical Korean spot. Perfectly sized for Bellaire. It’s always busy, so I today I stopped in after the lunch rush…around 2:15. The pace was largely empty and I got to try the spicy kalguksu. It was pretty good. The spicy broth was a bit overpowering but much healthier than ramen. I should’ve tried the original. Next time, I’ll order some of the dumplings. The mini dumplings in the soup did not have any taste and I didn’t end up finishing them, but the soup was hearty. See pics of menu and video of the noodles. They were fresh, not hand pulled like I said in my video. :) the service was good. Bathrooms were okay, the dining Space felt like I was in Seoul. The banchan was simple. You have a dongchimi and a grab kimchi which are staples for a kalguksu place. This is right NEXT to mochinut but I do not like this parking lot and my car has been scratched and dinged lots in this strip mall… so FYI but it’s a nice Korean eatery in Bellaire. I’d def come back to dry just dumplings and the cold noodles and other boonshik. There is a good variety of Korean noodles and fast food type of quick dishes to choose from. My server (the only server at this time) was a tatted Korean female. She was great. She was professional, perfectly energetic without being in your face. I had a comfortable meal, alone, and she was efficient without rushing me
I would say it’s okay but it’s definitely not impressive among other Korean restaurants in Chinatown in particular. It also feels like they serve pre-cooked or frozen food. It is totally fine but maybe a little bit extra garnish would make it better? There are two complimentary side dishes but both are kimchi. I wish one was fish cake. That being said, I still enjoy the noodle soup and bulgogi is also good. I like they serve barley tea, very refreshing.

MDK is a very famous mandu and noodles spot in Korea. I have been to the original spot in Seoul and it was worth the hype. Everything there was the best I’ve had of that specific food. Obviously, this is not Korea and I ordered it for delivery so I had to keep my expectations realistic which was a good idea. Don’t get me wrong, MDK here was ok but do not have the expectations that it’ll be even close to the Korean stuff. The Tteokbbokki was very average. The rice cakes were not very chewy. Sauce was watery. Overall, it wasn’t spicy. I would not recommend getting it. 3/10. The bibimbap was decent. There was a good amount of vegetables and the balance between vegetables, rice, and meat was good. It would’ve been nice if it came with gochujang on the side. 5/10. The rice cake and dumpling soup was meh. The same dish I tried in Korea was full of flavor and had depth to it. The one here tasted similar to what you can get from a plastic bag at the Asian supermarket. 3/10. I really liked how they provided a good amount of kimchi on the side. That was the only banchan provided though. It would’ve been nice to have some others. I look forward to trying this place out in person next time I’m in Houston and will edit my review if my experience in person is different.

I ordered a seafood kalguksu, and the seafood in the noodles looked extremely outdated and not fresh at all. It was honestly very unappetizing and disappointing. I strongly recommend that management check the freshness and quality of ingredients before serving food to customers. This was not an acceptable experience.

I typically don't write these sort of reviews, but today I had the strangest experience here. I have had good and bad table service, but this was a completely different animal. TL;DR the worst service I have ever experienced anywhere in the world, not quite out of rudeness but a truly astounding lack of interest in serving food. When we entered the restaurant, at the time with only one customer, the waiter was in the kitchen and so we waited about 3-4 minutes before he came and told us to sit anywhere. Subsequently, he brought a big jug of water... with no glasses or cups, and one set of cutlery for two people. Immediately we asked for a second one, and he nodded and disappeared into the kitchen again. The items never came. A while later he returned again to get our order, and we again asked him for cutlery and cups to drink water, and once again he nodded and disappeared without giving us something to drink the water with. Later he returned with tteokbokki (of microwave quality), and, for a third time, we asked for utensils and cups to drink water. Once again he said yes with an impassive face and disappeared. Around this time, the one other customer is trying to leave and clearly unable to get the check or to-go boxes from the waiter who keeps ignoring him, so he has to stand up at the entrance to the counter to get his attention. As this customer exits, we exchange a glance and he laughs, a little embarrassed. Tired and unable to eat, I got up and walked to the counter to ask him for utensils. He was, now, talking on his phone with earpods in Spanish and it took a while before he noticed me. Without a hint of embarrassment, he asked me what I wanted. I repeated I needed cups to drink the water and utensils, and he, now for a fourth time, said "OK" and came later with... Another jug of water, and no utensils. Halfway through he realized he did not bring cups and brought a second set. At this point, if you're having trouble keeping up, we have two jugs of water, two cups, and one set of utensils and the main entrees are arriving. I get up for a second time to ask him for utensils. At this time he has walked into the kitchen and the door is open, and he is *picking his nose*, makes eye contact with me, and walks farther into the kitchen. A few minutes later, he exits, and he finally brings me a spoon and fetches chopsticks. When we are done eating, I have to stand up once again because he is still on the phone talking about something in Spanish and too busy to take care of customers. Several minutes later, I finally got my check and left. As for food, the tteotboki and seafood pajun, as well as the bibimbap and my wife's soup were mediocre. I probably would not have bothered to write a review if I had not just experienced something that felt out of a fever dream in this restaurant. Buyer, beware.
