Place was a hit good Bbq and sides were amazing. The owner was extremely helpful and nice. Drinks machine wells pouring out the right amount of flavor drinks. Sweet we’re on a whole another level.💯💯💯💯
First time at ‘new’ location. Easy parking at noon, very friendly greeting with helpful ordering advice. We split a two meat/two side combo plate with moist brisket and spicy sausage. Awesome pickles! Good iced tea. Brisket was beautifully tender and well seasoned, not very smoky. Sausage was amazing flavour as were the roasted sprouts and the elote salad. Loved the variety of BBQ sauces too. Balmy Houston day was perfect patio weather. Really enjoyed our experience!
10000/10! This was my boyfriend’s and I first time here (def not the last) and from the moment we walked in it was love at first sight 🩷. Ross at the front counter was incredibly nice and gave off such a great vibe. He sold us on their special right away and was super helpful and attentive. We also go the churro banana pudding and girl it was DELICIOUS! I would come back simply for that dessert lol. The staff is amazing the food is fantastic I can’t think of any reason not to come here.
This was my girlfriend’s and my first time at Feges BBQ, and it did not disappoint at all. From the moment we walked in, the experience was great. Ross helped us out while we were looking over the menu and was incredibly kind, friendly, and patient, especially since it was our first visit. He made us feel really welcome. The food lived up to the service everything was delicious, and the overall vibe made the whole experience even better. We’ll definitely be coming back.
This place serves outstanding brisket that you can enjoy with four different BBQ sauces. The sides are also excellent, including coleslaw, gumbo, and fried okra. The restaurant is clean, and the staff are friendly and professional. Unlike some well-known BBQ spots, I’ve never experienced their popular items being sold out in the evening. Highly recommended.
My partner and I heard about Burger Friday at FEGES BBQ restaurant and we decided to visit. The Burger, Fries and a Drink did not disappoint. Plus the Pickle, Red Onion and Sauces bar nice touch. I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture of our burgers. Trust me you will not be disappointed. Best part of our night besides the food was Henry our Food Runner whom I thought was the Host of the restaurant. He made sure we had everything we needed for our dinner and made recommendations for other items on the menu. He made us feel right at home. We will be back not just on Burger Friday. Elvis even made it to the restaurant. A+++ on service and hospitality.
Stellar craft Q and great sides. I eat here every week and am impressed every time. Favorites are the brisket, turkey, and when available the 1/2 chicken (absolutely crushed it). Love the spicy braised greens and mac n cheese. The sweet and spicy Brussels Sprouts have been hit or miss…excellent if they are not dried out. Staff are always cheerful and helpful. A bit more upscale vibe than the usual BBQ joint. Would be nice if they had TVs to watch sports, I would stay and spend more $. Check out Chris Shepherd’s review of them on Eat Like a Local.
One BBQ at the time. Service and atmosphere: We received very good customer service. The ordering process was smooth and easy. The restaurant itself is modern and very well designed. They even offer outdoor playground for kids. Food and drinks: The menu was good and offered typical BBQ staples. Unfortunately, they run out of brisket. I ordered turkey and pulled pork with two sides ($22 combo plate). The turkey was very good. Great seasoning and it was moist. Pulled pork was okay. It was more on a dry side. It tasted better when combined with the signature sides. Chicken wings were juicy and were coated with good sauces. The sides of pickles and onions were okay. I enjoyed the spices but the pickles had skin that was too tough and the onions needed to be pickled longer. They offer variety of alcoholic beverages. Pricing: $$ - average, however, the portion of the two meats plate was pretty small for $22.
Good option for BBQ. Spacious inside with plenty of seating and a good place to watch sports on the huge projectors. Employee at the front gave great recommendations. We tried the brisket, pork spare ribs, spicy sausage, and turkey. The turkey was moist and tender with good flavor. We also really liked the spare ribs - they had a nice glaze with just the right amount of sweetness, not too overbearing. Brisket was solid, and we found the sausage a bit dry. For sides, we did the gumbo, cornbread, Mac and cheese, and brussel sprouts. Gumbo was loaded with chicken and great, and the cornbread was excellent. Mac had a good bite and flavor from the pimento cheese. Brussels had too much vinaigrette which made it too sweet and soggy, would have been great if not for that. Overall a solid spot to get TX bbq with great sides. We hear the Tuesday family platters are a fantastic deal too!
Feges BBQ Review: A Texas Monthly Top 100 Contender Feges BBQ arrives with the impressive distinction of being a Texas Monthly Top 100 BBQ award winner, immediately setting a high bar for diners. Located as an anchor in a bustling strip mall, the setting offers practical amenities—plenty of parking, ample indoor and outdoor seating, and even a dedicated play area for children. The atmosphere is casual and geared toward sports fans, with lots of projection television screens tuned to the big games. However, despite the top-tier ranking and excellent setting, the culinary experience itself proved to be a mixed bag. The Meats: High Expectations, Mixed Results The Brisket offered a glimpse of excellence, featuring a nice, dark bark and a robust, savory smoke flavor that hits all the right notes. However, the overall texture was a little dry, resulting in a fairly standard, unremarkable bite that lacked the supreme juiciness expected from a Top 100 contender. The specialty Big Red Brisket Burnt Ends were highly anticipated but ultimately polarizing. While they possessed a good textural chew, they were also a little dry. The dominant flavor was a strong, almost overwhelming burst of the classic Big Red soda. While novel, the profile would have been significantly elevated by dialing back the Big Red intensity and introducing a touch more balancing sweetness to round out the flavor. The Chili and Jack Cheese Sausage was the most disappointing of the trio. The texture was noticeably off, failing to achieve the preferred double grind that often characterizes exceptional Texas sausage. Furthermore, the jack cheese did not melt and ooze as expected, and the casing proved to be a little tough, detracting from the overall enjoyment. The Sides: Moments of Elevation Feges' sides offered some unexpected highlights, demonstrating creativity and skillful preparation. The Hog Fat Cornbread was a wonderful surprise. It delivered a satisfyingly sweet flavor profile, beautifully enhanced by the accompanying cinnamon butter, which added a luxurious richness to the culinary experience. A small suggestion for elevation would be the addition of small pieces of corn for texture and earthiness. The Sprouts were executed perfectly. They featured the right amount of crispness and a beautiful char, combining a good balance of sweet and spicy flavors. This side dish was arguably the strongest item sampled, showcasing precision and flavor ingenuity. The Verdict Feges BbQ is clearly an establishment that takes its craft seriously, evidenced by the quality of its bark and the impressive technique applied to its sides. Yet, when judged against the benchmark of being a "Texas Monthly Top 100" destination, the experience felt decidedly average. The dryness issues in the main brisket cut and the textural failings of the sausage indicate room for significant improvement. Overall, Feges BbQ feels more accurately ranked between the 50 and 100 spots on the Top 100 list. It offers a solid, but ultimately uninspired, barbecue experience that doesn't quite live up to the promise of its high-profile accolades.
My burger and fries was top notch. I loved the sauce on the feges burger and the fries were crisp and flavorful. I also had the Saturday special burnt ends but they were inedible. They were chewy and not very flavorful. My mother had them as well and agreed. The spicy greens tasted like kimchi with a umami flavor I was not a fan of. Too spicy for my daughter but the umami taste is what I disliked. In general I like this place as it has a kids play area and a good sized patio but some stuff is better than others in the menu.
We had a nice experience at this BBQ spot. The turkey, ribs, and sausage were all flavorful and well-cooked, definitely the highlights of the meal. Some of the sides were hit or miss, but a couple stood out as really tasty like the Mac n cheese. There’s a wide variety of sauces to choose from. The ambience was warm and welcoming, and the staff was super friendly and attentive. Overall, a solid BBQ spot worth checking out if you’re in the mood for good meats and a laid-back atmosphere.
The staff was great. Very nice, helpful and friendly. The brisket was as good as you can expect at 8pm on a Friday. They were sold out of the ribs and sausages. The korean greens and the whole pig were good, but mixed together, they are a perfect marriage! The corn bread was great. Not dry at all. The carrot cake was a nice finish to any room left in our stomachs. Oh, and the pickles are addictive!
First time here, overall the food was good, and the service was quick and friendly. The place wasn’t too loud or busy when we stopped by. Portions of meat felt a bit small but still filling. 4 sauces to choose from but i wish there was a spicy version. The sweet was a bit TOO sweet. My favorite was the Texas gold. Randomly the fries and corn bread are really good! I do agree with others that some sides taste reheated and not very fresh.
I wanted sp desperately to love this place, it's meats and their sides. The description of sides sounds like they put a tin of thought into their recipes, but they all landed with a thud. Even the smash burger was just super bland, and the marrow fries were not good, the brisket was missing something. The ribs were flavorful, but still not that great. I would go to Pit Room, Demeris or Truth before this place The Brussel Sprouts in ponzu were unique, but a tad too roasted. The fried okra, not good, I ate about 5 of them. Church's or Luby's had them beat on the okra. Sorry, cannot give this place a good review. The restaurant itself is fun and service was outstanding, I loved to try the many bbq sauces on the table.
I probably wouldn’t recommend this place. I arrived around 4 p.m., and the place was completely empty — usually a sign for me to turn around. There was also no smoky aroma, which was disappointing for a barbecue spot. Surprisingly, the sides outshined the meats. I’m not usually a Brussels sprouts fan, but these were actually pretty good. The rice and cornbread weren’t bad, just had an unusual flavor that didn’t quite work for me. As for the meats, the ribs and brisket were decent, but nothing memorable. On the plus side, the lady at the front was friendly, we received a military discount, and kids eat free on Wednesdays. But if you’re a tourist looking to try true Texas barbecue, this is not the spot.
Wanted to love it... but it fell flat. After hearing so many rave reviews, my husband and I were excited to finally try Feges, but sadly, it just didn't deliver for us. We both ordered the 2-meat 2 side plates. I had sausage and turkey with elote salad and Korean spiced greens; he had brisket and ribs with dirty rice and sweet & spicy brussel sprouts. We also tried the hogfat cornbread and the smoked chicken posole soup. While portion sizes and food temperature were solid and the service was friendly, the flavors were overall underwhelming. The turkey was juicy, but the course salt and pepper rub overpowered everything. Sausage was average, and the brisket was dry and not fork tender, leaving us disappointed. The ribs were okay but not memorable. The sides ranged from just okay to confusing the "Korean spiced greens" turned out to be kale, not the collards I was expecting 🫤 which was a big letdown. The dirty rice tasted boxed, and the soup was overloaded with crunchy cabbage that overwhelmed any smoky flavor it might have had. On the other hand, the BBQ sauces brought a positive highlight to the experience with a good variety of flavors, but overall, it just didn't live up to the hype. Great concept, nice space, but a one and done for us.
