Our daughter was in town for Thanksgiving and we decided to get some beef after eating lots of turkey for Thanksgiving. My wife and I have enjoyed Gauchos Do Sul a number of times and it is consistently very good. We like our beef rare and particularly like the Picanha. One of gauchos recognized us from prior visits and made sure that we had LOTS of rare Picanha. It also have a very nice wine selection including some interesting 1/2 bottles, which is helpful when it is just me and my wife since she does not drink. It also has a seafood option, but we haven't tried that as we're beef eaters, but it is a nice option. It is a nice place and I wish that folks would dress a little nicer, but that seems to be a common problem in Houston. Very lovely dinner and experience. Definitely recommend for a nice, celebratory dinner.

Went here on a bit of a whim and so glad I did! The servers were beyond attentive and very kind to my small kids. Made sure we got as much of any specific kinds of meats we wanted. SO much delicious food. The salad bar was so fresh and the meat was all extremely high quality and perfectly cooked. Truly impressed!

I've never been to a Brazilian Steak House before but Gauchos Do Sul has placed the bar high! The restaurant's lighting is on the dimmer side and dress code is pretty casual/business casual. There are plenty of tables and seating- private rooms for reservations are located in the back. Restrooms are nice and clean with a classy décor. The soup/salad bar has a variety of different cold cuts, cheese, and veggies. They also have seafood like cocktail shrimp and salmon loxs. Out of everything I got, I really enjoyed their soup (I believe it was lobster bisque), bread, and roasted eggplant. Their appetizers were also fantastic- they had bread with cheese inside (super addicting/dangerous), polenta fries, mashed potatoes, etc. As for the meats, everything was solid. Definitely get their special (Picanha) and the Fraldinha. The other cuts of meat (i.e. ribeye, calf steak, chicken wings) were okay. But their seafood (shrimp and octopus) was a pleasant surprise! Something that I actually could not get enough of was their grilled pineapple. It has cinnamon sugar on top and the sweetness/acidity of the fruit paired very well with some of the fattier cuts of meat. As for dessert, you have an option of either tres leches cake, tiramisu, or churros. I ended up going with the churros which came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The churros were perfectly fried and had a sweet crème filling. Even though I was so full by the time dessert came, the churros and ice cream were so good I ended up eating it all lol. Aside from the delicious food, the service here was fantastic! I appreciate how fast/diligent the servers were for our big group. Aside from making sure our plates were always full of meat, they were very attentive on our waters and taking away dishes that were no longer needed. Overall, my group and I had a fantastic experience here and I look forward to coming back here!

Ambiance: Brazilian steakhouse in Vintage Park that is nicely decorated with dim lighting, flowers, and upscale rustic touches. The set price includes the salad bar, unlimited cuts of meat, and dessert. The salad bar has amazing options including pasta salad, shrimp, potatoes, wedge salad, asparagus, and more. The wait staff is very fast and accommodating. Once you are ready, you flip your sign to green and very quickly receive various cuts of meats at your table. I enjoyed the prime rib and filet mignon the most! The sliced pineapple was also very good. For the price, the food is amazing quality and you will leave incredibly full/satisfied! Parking onsite in Vintage Park. Walking distance to other shops/bars/restaurants. Friendly staff. We went on Valentine's Day so it was quite crowded but we could tell they were doing a good job at managing many tables.

Came here for the first time for my anniversary and it was excellent all around. There was no one else in the restaurant so the service was top notch. We didn’t feel rushed or ignored. We had a great experience and loved the salad bar especially. They offered to take photos of us and gave us complementary champagne to celebrate. Better place for a couple vs a family.

Everything about this place was amazing! The meats were juicy and flavorful. The waitstaff was above and beyond attentive! The side dishes and deserts were better than expected. Would I suggest this place to others? Without hesitation, YES!

This is hands-down my favorite Brazilian place in all of Houston and I’ve tried most of them! Recommendations: ✔️Lobster Bisque w/marinated mushrooms on top ✔️Grilled Pineapple ✔️Smoked Old Fashioned (Woodford) ✔️Parmesan Crusted Chicken ✔️Beef Ribs ✔️Candied bacon The food is a great mix from the salad bar to the grilled meats. They always have a great selection going and they’re happy to accommodate requests. This last visit was for my grandmother’s 79th birthday and they gave us the wine room in the back. I was worried they wouldn’t know we were there but the service was great!

I went here for my wedding anniversary. The place and service were very good. All the staff were nice and food kept coming fast, and they even asked if i wanted something particular, and they would bring it. Some meat felt overcooked, like the lamb chopsticks. The brazilian limonade was out of the world. It is the best limonad I ever had, and it comes with free refill. I felt the price was kind of high compared to other places, but nice please for a special occasion.

The food was definitely good but if you’re someone that doesn’t eat a lot this is not the place to be. My bill by myself was $140 and I barely at 4 shrimp and a few pieces of beef. What I ate was equivalent to a kids meal. And I had two drink orders. And they automatically add 20% gratuity so I paid $22.

As a native Brazilian, I noticed a few things missing that most Brazilian churrascarias usually offer: feijoada (black beans cooked in a traditional way), fried bananas, vinaigrette, and—most importantly—farofa. Overall, the meat was good. Unfortunately, I can’t say it was the best steakhouse I’ve been to, but it’s worth trying at least once. Don’t overthink the price—go in with an open mind and be prepared to spend some money; otherwise, you might change your mind before going.

We had made an advance reservation for a party of eight. When we arrived, service started immediately and food was brought out quickly. While that initial rush felt a bit chaotic, the bigger issue came afterward. It became very difficult to get servers to come by with additional meat selections. Several gentlemen at our table had to repeatedly wave staff down just to receive more service. This was not our usual experience at this location. We’ve been here before and service has always been excellent and attentive, so this was disappointing. I’m not sure if it was due to the crowd, but the delays were noticeable. The second issue was during payment. One of the main reasons we chose this restaurant was because my team and I had a $350 Visa gift card. When it came time to pay, I provided the gift card and asked that the remaining balance be charged to my personal card. The total bill was quite high. A woman who was not our server came back and, very loudly, said that the card did not go through and that they “don’t even take this.” The entire table heard this, which was uncomfortable and unnecessary. Because of how it was handled, I chose not to ask her to rerun the card and instead gave her a different card. The following day, I used that same Visa gift card at the mall with no issues at all, which leads me to believe it either wasn’t processed correctly or wasn’t handled properly. Regardless, the situation could have been addressed discreetly instead of announced in front of the entire table. Between the service delays and the way the payment issue was handled, I left feeling dissatisfiedespecially after spending close to $1,000 . Unfortunately, this experience didn’t feel worth it, and I don’t see myself returning to this location. I will likely stick to the Westheimer or other location in the future, as this visit did not meet the standard I’ve previously experienced.

As frequent patron of Guachos in Westheimer me and my family decided to go the vintage location for our annual Christmas Eve dinner. The salad bar was sub par to say the least . The food was bland as can be , the lobster bisque was cold, and not worth anything close to the price that your charged . I assumed when it came time for the meat and main courses it would atleast make up for it a little . I WAS WRONG. More bland food and persistent waiters trying to unload tasteless cuts of inferior meat .Although it was a mistake the waiter splattered grease on my husbands tailored dress shirt . Lastly and finally , desert. We ordered my son’s favorite dessert , tres leches , that he still talks about the from the westheimer location . It was dry , and short a leche if you ask me . For $500 I expected a far better and tasteful main coarse . Do your self a favor and drive the 40 min or so to the other location or just go to and a real steakhouse . Merry Christmas I hope they take this review and make the necessary changes to live up to the standard we expect when spending over $500 dollars for a family of 4.

The food is good but overpriced like everywhere else. We reserved a room for a large party and had a deposit with minimum total spend. The staff is highly trained at convincing guests to order drinks without disclosing the cost of the drink. They are also very adept at stating that you are under your minimum spend when, in fact, you are over - way over. If you eat here, stick to the food and avoid the drinks.
