A friend of ours recommended that we try Hopdoddy, and I'm really glad we did. From the moment we walked in, the experience was great. A kind and patient waitress greeted us at the entrance and helped us find a table right away, which made us feel welcome. We decided to order the "Goodnight" burger — and wow, it was fantastic! We asked for our burgers to be cooked well-done, and it turned out to be a perfect choice. The burger was juicy, full of flavor, and every bite was delicious. I truly enjoyed it and would definitely go back for more. If you're looking for a tasty burger and friendly service, I highly recommend giving Hopdoddy a try!

Me and my daughter are fans of Hopdoddy burgers. Our favorite is the poblano llano burger it’s not in the menu anymore and now it’s considered part of their “secret menu”. This burger has been our favorite for years and we always ordered this one along with some truffle Parmesan fries. The staff was nice, nothing over the top, I mean, it’s a burger spot, you serve yourself your dressing and your drinks and they bring the food to your assigned table, the service is fast, and the burgers are always good!

Great spot with good service and tasty food! The only downside is the parking — it can be a bit hard to find.

Hopdoddy was a solid burger spot with great fries and sauces. We ordered two different burgers and a couple of fry options, and everything came out fresh and hot. The Parmesan truffle fries were my favorite super flavorful and tossed in a big metal bowl so everything gets coated evenly. The seasoned fries were also really good, especially with their dipping sauce. Hopdoddy is a little overrated. The burgers themselves were juicy and well-built. The bun was soft and buttery, and the toppings were fresh. The bacon on the burger was thick and cooked perfectly, which I loved. Overall, great fries, good burgers, and generous portions. A bit pricier than a typical burger place, but the flavor and quality is personal preference.

Ordered Uber Eats Wagyu Burger requested bacon, but there was NO bacon in my burger. I liked the fries. It was a good portion, although a bit soggy. Next time, give me my bacon. 🥓

I have been here about three time now. Get something different everytime. If you order online, there is a box to specify what you want wxactly, you can tell them less seasoning or salt on your burger. Tried the Wagyu snash, and it was tasty. I love carmelized onions, mushrooms, and just added mayo. It was perfect. Gotta say, one of the saltiest burgers I have ever tasted. I loved their chicken sandwich when i tried it the first time. Also tried their Tres Leches Shake that is made with gluten free cookies, or toppings, all their shakes are gluten free. I could not finish burger, ate half, it was very satisfying. Just too salty. The fries were okay, did not get salt and pepper in them, and they were nice and crispy.

I had a great lunch at Hopdoddy in Rice Village! The double bacon jam burger was packed with flavor, and the truffle fries were crispy and delicious. Paired with a refreshing drink, it hit all the right spots. The atmosphere is lively, and the service was friendly and quick. My only gripe is the price—$25 plus tip feels steep for a burger lunch. Still, the quality is top-notch, and I’d definitely come back for another round!

I was craving a burger, and this place did a good job in assisting. This establishment is in Rice Village, near Rice university itself. Most parking spaces around here are paid. There is a garage that offers free parking for the first 2 hours. Good deal, but there are a bunch of meters as well. The place is clean, modern, and smells like burgers. The staff are friendly and did give me honest opinions on the burgers as well as recommendations. I purchased the Goodnight/ Good Cause burger, and it was great. Hot, juicy, a little bit of that kick from the jalapenos. The sides are separate from the burgers, so don’t forget the fries or any other side you wish to munch on. I hope I come back to town, just so I can try those shakes that they offer, looks pretty good. I would come back here again if I’m ever back in Texas.

For the price of $40 for 2 burgers and 1 fries, this is definitely below 4 stars at this point. Burgers were just ok. The farm burger's caramelized onions were so hard that i began thinking they were cooked and frozen over from the previous day. The chicken burger was good, and the truffle fries we got were far from fresh. This place is not really what it used to be, i remember trying this in austin for the first time, and it was amazing, and this time, it was below average.

I always enjoy the meals I have at HopDoddy from the Parmesan truffle fries to the burgers to the salads and shakes. They always fun and interesting seasonal or limited time variations. Right now it’s hot honey sage sweet potato fries and a thanksgiving Turkey burger. I love that it allows me to try something truly different and inventive. I wish there was more room for substitution and I’d the service after ordering was as efficient and kind as the service you get when ordering. Overall though, I will keep coming back to treat myself to something outside of my norm. It’s also super convenient for me in town and the parking garage is free for 2 hours so you can grab a bit e and still have time to shop/ walk off all the delicious food you just ate.

3 Stars – Great Vibes, Great Staff, But the Food Just Missed the Mark We visited Hopdoddy at night, and the atmosphere in the area was honestly one of the best parts of the experience. The location is beautiful—safe, clean, and lively even after dark. You’ll see people walking their dogs, couples enjoying late-night conversations, and groups gathered outside at tables from all the nearby restaurants. It’s the kind of place where you want to stay and hang out. The outdoor shared seating is such a cool idea—it’s relaxed, inviting, and really creates a community feel. Most of the parking around the area is paid, so keep that in mind, but it felt very secure and well-lit at night. Now, onto the food… which unfortunately didn’t live up to the hype. We’ve had several friends rave about Hopdoddy, so we came in with high expectations. The staff was incredibly nice—seriously, every person we interacted with was friendly and helpful. That part was fantastic. We ordered a burger, a chicken salad, and a lemonade. The lemonade was the best thing we had—fresh, tart, and flavorful. The burger had a decent grill-char flavor, which I appreciated, but the texture was really off. It was overly soft, kind of mushy, and reminded me more of crumbled-up dog food than a real burger. Harsh, I know—but that’s exactly how it felt. We didn’t even finish it. We ended up tossing it in the outdoor seating area. The salad was also a miss. I took one bite and couldn’t go any further. The chicken patty on top was rubbery and off-putting, and it made the whole salad feel like a waste. Honestly, I didn’t even eat it. To make matters worse, they were out of the truffle fries I had been excited to try. It just felt like one letdown after another. That said, the pricing was actually pretty affordable. We spent about $40 for two meals and a drink, which is fair for the area. The restaurant itself was cute and well-decorated, but the bathrooms were dirty and needed serious attention. I really wanted to love this place—great location, amazing staff, nice vibe—but the food just didn’t deliver. I’d come back to the area in a heartbeat, but sadly, Hopdoddy won’t be on my list next time.

Food was just ok. The one on 249 has the best food. I was not impressed here is lacked seasoning maybe that's because of the area. I expected the same tast and flavor. This Hopdoddy location is severely lacking in food quality and operations. Ordered and paid for a few wagyu burgers and then heard the kitchen say they were out on a Sunday evening at 6pm. If I hadn’t spoken up and asked about it, I think they would’ve just served us regular burgers. We asked them to refund the Wagyu burgers and we started our order over. Then they served us the wrong burger and had to remake a burger. It was a hot mess. Unfortunately the burger was dry and lacked flavor. Hopdoddy used to be my fav burger place. Maybe I need to try another location and make sure they have the Wagyu burgers before I go.
