Surprise from the other reviews. I just had great service here, both guys behind the bar are supper attentive and friendly. My egg tacos were good as well. And they kept constantly checking if I needed a new drink or any condiments. I guess I got lucky.
The servers are really nice and the food was hefty enough for the price💗💗💗(I ate most the fries by the time I took a photo)

If you are in Houston International Airport, George Bush, terminal E and feel like Mexican food this is the place. As all the restaurants in this airport they have an amazing architecture and decoration. Here the menu is basic but good for an airport. Quesadilas, chips, drinks, nachos is in the menu.
Bright and festive lit restaurant at the end of the terminal with many seats having a great view of the runways. They only have QR code menus and require all transactions done online. Minus one star for that because the order and payment system is buggy. I had 2 airline meal vouchers that I did apply to the system but then it finalized before I added the gratuity which meant I had to pay for that myself separately, even though we had enough money on the vouchers (they expire after first use). Other than that, it is airport expensive ($20 breakfast, $5 cup of standard black coffee), but it is made to order fresh and healthy serving size and tasted delicious. Good variety of Tex-Mex type offerings. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice quiet area that is worth paying a little extra for the tranquility. Overall we would consider returning again if we were going to be eating at the airport.

I read several Yelp, Google Maps, and Facebook Reviews before settling on Houston Wheelhouse. Of the complaints I think the root issue was expectations. It’s an airport eatery, and in the South. With that in mind, I bellied up to the bar area of this eatery. An automated tablet replaced the server, which, in this case only, enjoyed. Time was short for me, so while I love Southern Hospitality ... didn’t have time for it either. That said, I ordered the local beer: Shiner Bock with my grilled steak salad. Both were sufficiently filling although the price point was higher than I wanted to pay. To address the service, I was greeted with a smile and “Mr. Los” every time.
So my $20 cheese burger was undercooked. They use two small Pattie’s instead of one juicy patty. Service was great but like the other restaurants at this airport they use the same ocr ordering system which has many of the same options as the other restaurants at the same exact price. I have to wonder why I would pick this restaurant over another one, the look? Anyway the same ocr system demands a tip for service BEFORE you are served. Somebody needs to look into this flawed system.
Nothing special here but certainly better than some of the options around gate E17, hence the 3 star rating. Service- Our server Shakera was nice, fast and friendly. Please note you have to be able to use an iPad, that’s the only way you can place an order. Some people were frustrated, I was happy I know how to use an Ipad- self taught :). Things to note: if you complete your order, then decide to add to your order and you’re one to check your credit card statement immediately, it will show 2 charges - one for the first order and a second for the cumulative charge. They confirmed you will only be billed for the last posted charge, and that’s how we were charged, so no issue there but something that might make your perk the brow. Food- This is the airport, you’re not going to get a Michelin star restaurant in the airport so get over yourself, go simple. We had a burger and some chicken quesadillas(Napoleon!, why don’t you go make yourself a damn quesa- dillah!?). Burger was pretty big for me because it had 2 patties. The burger and quesadilla were decent. Drinks- had a regular and spicy margarita. Nothing special, they use a margarita mix and the salt on the rim seemed like they just scooped up some sea salt- it was sallllty!! I kind of wish they had a better list of beers, some local craft options would have been nice

Caution! Recommend pay in cash and have RFID protection over your credit cards while dining there. While l I am unable to definitively prove fraud, I am fairly confident that they (Potentially )have skimmers on devices for ordering or unscrupulous wait staff that are stealing cc info. I've been out of the country and have not used this particular card in weeks, it's a new card , and shortly after dining in this restaurant there ywere over $1,000 in fraudulent charges attempted on this credit card. Again , it's unconfirmed but proceed with caution as my card has been in my possession at all times except 30 seconds when waiter "helped me" with paying and turned his back to me momentarily. I had a feeling at the time something like this was happening.
Waited 30 min for food - it wasn’t crowded at all. Maybe 1/4 of the seats taken. Usually people in airports have flights to catch….. no mention that food was taking a long time until I asked more than 20 min in to my wait. And then when it arrived, the rice and beans were cold - totally cold. The enchilada (which were more like tacos) had a very small amount of meat. I probably would have been disappointed had I paid $10…. At $40 it was super irritating. I know I’m in an airport yet… so better please.
I never ask to speak with someone, but I did today. First, the service was great. Everyone was kind. It was clean. You have to pay and tip before your food even arrives. I ordered the classic enchiladas, which say that they are cheese enchiladas covered in green salsa and cheese. I am not exaggerating when I say that the three tortillas came with one tablespoon of unmelted cheese in each one. The sauce was ice cold and served on the side. No cheese on top. The sour cream in the side was a bigger portion than the cheese in the cheese enchiladas. The flavors were actually there, which is why I'm super disappointed. I paid $20.99 plus tax and tip for three tortillas and three tablespoons of cold cheese. Absolutely unethical serving of food. The manager ordered to remake it, but I declined. They can do better for their customers.
Order everything on your phone. They don’t have servers or bartenders but still automatically include a 20% tip. Overpriced drinks and they give you plastic utensils. Beans and rice were good but overpriced.
The tacos were a sloppy mess and tasted like I was taking a bite out of an onion. The food took over 20 minutes which is pretty slow for an airport restaurant. Premium pricing, bad food

(I think they changed their name they were so bad.) I should have left when I saw how dirty the tables were. I ordered on the app then they asked for a 25 percent tip before we even got our food. Got a crappy Ck sandwich for 23 dollars. No mayo, no jalapenos, tiny piece of bacon. CK inside was tiny. Menu said that it had chipotle aisle. When we finally flagged someone down they said they didn't have mayo. They should have payed me 23 dollars to eat that discrace. See photo.
Horrible, low quality, overpriced food. Go to a Dunkin’ Donuts and you’ll get better quality food. Or the barbecue place in the airport. 27 dollars for an underdressed salad with minimal amounts of protein and no flavor. Plus it takes 5 minutes just to order on 5 different webpages .
AVOID!!! Absolutely no service. Order through QR code with pre-tip. The person who delivered our food didn’t say one word. The drinking glasses had LIPSTICK RESIDUE. The salads were obviously old with bits of black lettuce, mushy vegetables and off taste. Unfortunately, I was starving after a long flight. At the bottom of the bowl there was A LIVE INSECT.
25 minutes for a taco? The place was empty. Asked for it to go that took another 5 minutes and I had to leave. Really poor service. Find somewhere else to eat.

Bartender at Tex Mex Bar tells me he has tea but fails to inform me I have to order online. I sit here for 10 minutes waiting for nothing. Then when I do order I get flooded with ads. I suppose you're going to spam my email as well. You guys are exactly everything I dislike.
Expesive, shitty service, and they lost the food... Gave it to another table. 2 plates and 2 drinks was over $100
Showed up at the Wheel House Houston airport bar, right in the middle, no greeting by the bartender or host. Bar code didn’t work, so I eventually asked for a menu. About an hour passes and i’m still getting ghosted by both employees. Even during down time, the host is chatting with a friend like I didn’t exist. I finally got up and left and they probably had no clue. I can’t say it’s the worst service because it was ZERO service.
Food tastes fine but good luck getting what you actually ordered, my tacos came out missing half the toppings. Service sucks too because they charge everything up front including tip. Way too expensive. Should get a 0.
Staff not really motivated and monosyllabic. Didn’t explain the menu. Service was super slow. Disappointing after receiving great service on this trip.
45 minutes from order to plate time for three tacos. This is unacceptable at any restaurant, and even moreso at an airport terminal where the customer has a flight to catch. It took them almost a half hour to inform me that they were out of short rib meat and ask to substitute steak. When I tried to make friendly conversation and ask if short rib meat was a popular choice in Texas, they got very defensive. Overall the tacos were edible, but overpriced. Beans and rice were loaded with cumin and inedible. Service was among the worst I have ever had. I will definitely go elsewhere the next time I have a layover in IAH.
This place is disgusting. DO NOT EAT HERE! I waited for over 30 minutes and then the server asked me "how did I like everything" I said I never got my food. It was finally served cold. I had to ask for the 10.00 tres leches cake and when I finally got it. It was spoiled, the milk was curdled. When I went back to get a refund the server didn't apologize and had a horrible attitude. She walked away and didn't process my refund request. Another server came and helped me. There are a lot of other options I STRONGLY suggest eating ANYWHERE but here.
Service is terrible. I sat in the bar area browsing the menu and after about 15 minutes I asked the waiter “Is it ok if I order”. He reluctantly considered!! Then after ordering, I had to pay prior to receiving my food and drink. Staff very impersonal. I’m usually a great tipper but I couldn’t. Advice: eat at the eateries before you get to E19 if possible.
The only bartender was some kid who spent 10 minutes closing the bill with some women and then went around back and got on his phone until someone else called for him. Sounded like he had ordered a beer 20 minutes previously and was still waiting. Needless to say I did not risk ordering a cocktail…
Why are there restaurants like this in the airport taking up the limited real estate available whenever an actually good restaurant could be there. Waited an hour for crappy, watery queso and a Caesar salad. The place was empty. Requires you to give a tip first, your phone number, and your email just to place an order. I saw a server maybe twice, getting my food and getting a box. Just insane.
The single most unenthusiastic worker I have ever had to deal with. Big lady working the night of Sunday October 26th. If you don't want to do the job quit and let someone who will be happy to have a job have a go. Just disgusting
The mixed drinks were watered down and the chips and salsa came out with literally 15 broken tortilla chips for $20. My wife had a margarita and I had an old fashion, both were $20 each and only had half a shot each. I don't mind paying for higher prices for the airport but this was ridiculous.
Horrible service and never got food that we ordered. Waited for almost an hour. When asked to have it boxed, they still couldn’t perform. Go somewhere else!
Extremely bad value for money. $90 for cold bad food. Go anywhere else at the airport.
I’m honestly surprised this place is still in operation. I went here a couple years ago and it was overpriced and AWFUL. I went back bc it was right by my gate, MISTAKE. I paid 20$ for the worst “enchiladas” (if you can even call them that) I’ve had in my life. The service staff are apathetic and unhelpful, right after tipping my waiter 20% he watched me plug in to outlets that don’t work and he said nothing, knowing full well they don’t work as he told me when I asked when my food finally came out. Now I know to never go back to this place. EDIT: I was just told that Papacitos down the way is WAY better and actually worth what you pay
Well this bar at the airport is worthless. Sat here for awhile trying to work the QR code. Did NOT work. Then finally got a menu. Girl didn’t come back for another 30 Minutes. Asked to order from the guy in the pic. He said no. Waited for the girl. She never came back. All I was gonnna order was a cabernet and she never came back…. He said order from the waitress and she was chatting to a manager and never came back to take my order. Pictures below. They don’t take your order here!! They don’t want any money! 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
The shrimp quesadilla included mostly only the tails of the shrimp. Absolutely no service and I asked for the manager who they told me hasn't been around all day. They the. told me to chef would come out but he/she never did. Avoid this place at all costs!!!

Worst food ever. I had the “smothered chicken burrito- Salsa verde on top was sour as if it contained nothing but tomatillos, burrito contents tasted okay but were nearly cold. I wish I had checked the reviews beforehand
Made you pay up front and took 18% before even delivering your food. I know it's the airport and expensive but you expect at least par and not sub par. The "steak" fajita qasedia was ground hamburger. The side of refried beans was miniscule. Two bites Max. We got half a quesadilla instead of a whole one. Just come in and mooch the chargers and get water.
Service was atrocious. Had to ask to check on a simple quesadilla after other food had already arrived. Prices are insane ($22 for a “double” Tito’s)….bringing me to my next point. Ordered a double Tito’s and Red Bull. It was served in a highball glass and the extra Red Bull was brought out in the can. A double, served in a highball glass, with full ice should only be able to fit a little bit of Red Bull so my Red Bull can should have been almost full still. My Red Bull can was less than half full, which means they used a lot of Red Bull, which means they didn’t put in hardly any Tito’s….but it was a double. All of the food was mediocre, at best. The guy sitting across from me returned his food because it was “not good.” Just go to Chik-fil-a in the food court. Don’t go to this place. Ohhhhhh, and they collect the check (and the tip) with the order. So, we tipped 20% for all this crap. Definitely would not have done that for what we got.
Ordered through the QR code food came out 45min later and had to remind the bartender I had a drink as well, guy didn't read the order and got the drink wrong so there's that. Would rate 0 stars due to Service, Attention to Detail and No Welcoming sense.
This was one of my worst airport dining experiences, and that's saying something. They gave me the most stale chips I've ever had at a Tex-Mex restaurant, except the two of them were actually chewy which was disgusting and gross. The waitress said I had to pay when I placed my order and gave me the total w/ an 18% tip, which she indicated was mandatory. She took my payment when I placed my order. Then she proceeded to ignore me the rest of the time I was there. I had to flag down another server to bring me a napkin, and two others to refill my drink. Terrible service and bad food. I understood afterwards why she wanted the payment and tip on the front end. I'm positive that the only reason this place is still in business is because it's in an airport w/ a captive audience.
Ordered food with three others while the restaurant was not busy. It has now been almost an hour since we ordered and we still haven’t been served. 😮💨 Food before a flight should not take an hour, especially when most people are on a tight schedule. They also clearly have no order system, as they served a couple who arrived 20 minutes after us before serving us. The waiters informed us only 12 minutes before our flight that they were out of ALL lettuce, forcing us to take our salads in to-go boxes so we wouldn’t miss our flight. 🛑 Do NOT come here.
My coworkers and I ordered food an hour and 15 minutes before our flight. It came ten, five and 3 minutes before we started boarding. They didnt even serve napkins and did it all with a bad disposition. I wont be back.
It really shouldn’t take 20 minutes to get chips and a salad. Service is garbage and the staff was super unfriendly and uninterested in the existence of any patron. This place depresses me. The queso arrived watery with a thick skin on top. At least I got some help with requesting a refund. I didn’t want to eat it and I def didn’t want to pay $18 for it.
This place is a complete joke. Looks cool, menu looks good, but the service is comically bad and the food is fast-food quality. You also have to order everything on your phone using the QR code; the “server” was irritated that I ordered a water without using the app.
Service was HORRIBLE. If you are in an hurry don’t order here. Ordered on the phone using QR code. Once you paid and tip the server JD, will never come to check on you. I waived to her once and she ignored. We had eye contact. Had to ask another waiter to get my Diet Coke. Food was normal. Nothing special. Just service needs to improvement.
