Opinions de Jeni's Ice Creams Houston
This is probably my favorite location so far! It’s in a cute home that’s been renovated and there’s so much seating. Inside and out. Me and my boyfriend got ours and then sat in the chairs outside that rotate around. I think they are for kids but we had a blast spinning, giggling and eating our ice cream. (We’re both turning the corner on 30, by the way, haha.) The flavors are amazing as always!!
Excellent service! Extremely clean, there was an abundance of flavors to choose from, and you could try each one. Designated parking by the building. Plenty of seating inside and nice swings and bench outside on the deck. The perfect treat before shopping all the thrift stores on this street!
LOVE. Ice cream is my fav dessert especially fruit flavor or sour and I was a little hesitant as I thought Jeni’s would not have a flavor of my liking. BUT I had their snow cone flavor and by God it was amazing. I love it and I don’t think i’ve been back to get ice cream more than I have recently.
The ice cream varieties and tastes are indeed splendid! The scoop shop has cool interior and inviting colors. It also has nice outdoor and patio seatings. It is really nice to just sit down, relax, and enjoy a bowl of delicious ice cream. I had these flavors: salted peanut butter with chocolate flecks, brambleberry crisp, and salted licorice, on top of a waffle bowl. The waffle bowl was slightly salted probably to counter the sweetness of the ice cream. I’m loving it. A bite of salty waffle bowl, and a spoonful of sweet ice cream. Scrumptious! All the flavors I had were real awesome! The salted peanut butter had a good balance of saltiness and sweetness. The brambleberry crisp flavor had good amount of oat streusel which gave a nice crunch to the smooth ice cream. The salted licorice was super yummy too! Jeni’s ice cream store impresses me so much with their unique flavors and tasty ice cream that I bought a pint home to enjoy at night, and a cookbook to make homemade treats.
The classic ice cream brand has a new spot and it’s amazing! The Jeni’s here has all the flavors, decorations, and quality of service as the rest. They have three serving stations to make it easy to sample and get your ice cream quick and easy. The prices are still super value for what you’re getting, and the staff are so kind. They also sell pints and merchandise here too. There’s a good amount of indoor seating, as well as some outdoor swings. Parking is a surface lot right around the corner. A great new spot with all the favorites.
Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, a delightful Houston chain, has truly won my heart with its exceptional offerings and inviting atmosphere. My recent visit was a memorable experience from start to finish. One of the standout features of Jeni's is their commitment to seasonal flavors. With each visit, you're greeted with a fresh array of inventive and delectable options. Whether you're a fan of classic flavors or enjoy exploring unique, seasonal creations, Jeni's caters to every ice cream lover's cravings. But it's not just about the ice cream; it's the overall experience. The staff at Jeni's are consistently friendly and enthusiastic, which adds to the joy of indulging in their sweet treats. They're always willing to provide recommendations and samples, making it easy to find your new favorite flavor. The ambiance of Jeni's is a perfect blend of cozy and trendy. The modern yet welcoming interior design, along with the pleasant music, creates an inviting space where you can savor your ice cream and engage in conversation with friends and family. In summary, Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams is a gem in Houston, offering a rotating selection of seasonal flavors, a friendly and knowledgeable staff, and a welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're looking for a delightful dessert or a place to enjoy some quality time, Jeni's has it all. It's a must-visit for ice cream aficionados and anyone seeking a memorable sweet treat experience.
I really like this location - cozy and stylish interior with some chair swings outside and relatively clean. Typical flavor selection and the team lets you try samples. Ice cream tastes good as usual! The only minus is the price..but this is all across Jeni’s locations the same as you pay for the brand
Splendid indeed! Jeni’s has a multitude of flavors to choose from. My personal favorite is “gooey butter-cake”, sooo good. They have fruit flavors like “bramble-berry” and classics too. They offer a “darkest chocolate” vs a “ milkiest chocolate” to give chocolate fanatics a choice. The best ice cream shop in H-town in my opinion.
The ice cream was so good of course. I went 10/1, late evening, and it was one young lady working, she was so sweet. The line could get backed up quickly with everyone trying to decide and taste the new flavors. She was really composed and polite. Shout out to her. She was a delight.
My son and daughter in law introduced us to Jeni’s from the Austin location. Comparable and possibly better than my grandmother’s homemade. Amazingly unique flavors
Went there later in the evening and it was a bit of a wait but thats because the two super stars behind the ice cream were attentive to peoples orders. You could tell they were working hard and knocking out the orders definitely didnt mind the wait
best ice cream place ever, not over sweet like most place (because this is America ), I LITERALLY MEANT BEST ICE CREAM IVE EVER TRIED
The Texas Sheet Cake flavor was AMAZING! I got the new sundae fudge sauce on top and it was absolutely impeccable. I am always a little hesitant on dairy free ice cream options, but I was pleasantly surprised! 10/10 recommend!
Im not the biggest icecream fanatic but their icecream is amazing! I especially love gooey buttercake, i get it almost every single time
They have a limited selection of non dairy but WOW it's delicious I believe it's the banana pudding yummy 😋
Really splendid indeed. I was not a big fan of ice creams before but I am now. Courtesy Jeni’s splendid ice cream shop.
What is a great way to end the night??…desserts. As many would say, “save the best for last!!” That can be true in some instances. Lol, but golly this place is so cute. The other best thing about Jeni’s is that it opens past midnight right in the center of Montross area. They have some serious good, rich, creamy and decadent ice cream! I chose 2 of the seasonal flavors and it was delish. Come check them out if you have a sweet or savory palate! Chow Chow Time!!
The entrance of the ice cream parlor was great! As soon as you walk into the shop the design of the inside was beautiful and vibrant. The best thing is the flavor they were crazy GOOD! Would definitely come again plus the waffles are delicious too.
This was my first time visiting Jenni's ice cream, but I had always heard good things. I have to say, I was very impressed by the overall experience. The shop is literally a quaint little house just off Westheimer. There's a fun and inviting storefront sign and swings on the front porch. When you walk in you enter a trendy and deceptively spacious ice cream parlor with plenty of seating. The store was immaculate, chic, and comfortable. I could easily have lounged there for hours eating ice cream and avoiding the brutal Texas summer heat. The staff was incredible friendly, and the service was impeccable. I asked which flavors they recommended, and I was told Gooey Butter Cake, Brown Butter Almond Brittle, and Brambleberry Crisp were their best sellers, so, I went with those. These three flavors were delightful and actually worked well together. I had a lovely experience and I will definitely be back to try their extensive variety of flavors. Some tips: Try a bunch of flavors before making a delicious. Consider going with "the Signature" as it gives you 3 half scoops in an edible waffle bowl. And maybe buy a pint of two of their famously delicious ice cream to take home with you. Parking is limited, but you can find street parking all along Westheimer. And if you're getting those late night cravings, no worries, Jeni's is open until 1am. Cheers!!
Jeni's compares to Salt & Straw in California! Unique flavors and you can try them all!! Ice cream is creamy and simply amazing! Staff were friendly and helpful and didn't mind us trying several flavors before deciding. A perfect summer or winter treat!
Workers were so nice and helpful, let me try as many flavors as I needed. The standout, aside from the unique flavors, was the light, crisp, buttery waffle cone! I got the miso butterscotch brownie and the double dough ice cream in a waffle cone and it was SO good. The miso ice cream has a nice savory element to it (still overall sweet but not TOO sweet) and with the buttery/salty notes in the cone it was an amazing flavor profile! Highly recommend and WILL be back!
- The ice cream was really good. I got one scoop of the gooey butter cake and one scoop of the buttercream birthday cake. The staff member behind the counter was really knowledgeable about the different flavors.
Amazing ice cream flavor selection and everything we tried was delicious. Tons of unique options plus classics, and the quality is top-tier. Definitely a great spot to satisfy any ice cream craving. 🍦
We drove out of our way based on a tip and the ice cream flavors didn’t disappoint. So many new flavors to choose from - thank heaven they have good customer service. They were truly accommodating. Nice seating area and pints to go for those who want more. There was plenty parking and loads of other great business in the area within strolling distance to walk off your meal and dessert. Friendly customer service and lovely little parlor.
We are so happy to have found a Jeni "brick-n-mortar" outlet for our Jeni's ice cream fixation! We love their peanut butter flavor, but are so happy to have had the opportunity to choose among so many options that are just unavailable in our local grocery. Today we had: Darkest Chocolate and Peppermint! So very good! Those looking and loving ice cream, definitely go here!
Delicious ice cream and fast and friendly service. They give you samples too. We got the signature cone with half scoops of Texas sheet cake, salted peanut butter with chocolate flecks and coffee with cream and sugar. The ice cream is rich and creamy. My fave was the coffee with cream and sugar. The salted peanut butter comes in second. Parking was difficult as the lot is very small and shared with residences. Our table was dirty but they were very busy.
Always a great spot to stop by and grab some ice cream! We tried it last year when we visited from Alaska now moved here and it’s our go to ice cream parlor! Love the swings to sit and swing while you snack on a great dessert!
The patio was so adorable with plenty of seating and vibrant welcoming colors! Handicap parking with handicap rails and wooded paths to the porch! The inside was also handicap accessible. The interior was also bright, colorful and minimalistic! The employees were so helpful! Allowing as many samples as you liked! They had over 20 flavors! I sampled everything!!! I chose lavender, mint, and coffee as my flavors. Very creamy, smooth and full of natural flavors!
⭐️ FINALLY, A DELICIOUS DAIRY-FREE ICE CREAM ! 🍨 The thoughtful flavor combination in each ice cream offering is what sets Jeni’s ice cream apart from the competition. They have a wide range of Dairy-Free, Vegan, and/or Gluten-Free choices. Each flavor I’ve tried is fantastic, but my favorite is the Lemon Bar. It reminds me of Key Lime pie. This ice cream has an incredible mix of lemon and coconut cream with small pieces of shortbread in the mix. The coconut flavor is not heavy (the mistake other places make), so it compliments, rather than takes away from, the lemon. Whatever flavor you choose, you can’t go wrong at Jeni’s.

Definitely on the pricier side of ice cream places, almost eight bucks for the smallest size which is two “half scoops” but honestly it was really enjoyable, we got two different flavors and both were so rich. The place is so cute and cozy.

Excellent service- super fast and friendly! Also, I loved the really inventive limited edition varieties available. Due to the eclipse all the options were so fun and pretty- but I didn't love the taste as much. The ice cream flavors were good, but all kind of similar and no flavor really stood out for me.
I tried both of their vegan flavors. Both were very good. Unfortunately, I do not recall the names of the flavors and I managed to take a picture of everything except the half scoops. I read that they sold half scoops but was not thinking it was the only option for the same price of full scoops so be prepared for that. There was plenty parking and it's wheelchair accessible.
Walked by and had to try Jeni’s, We like the chance to try any flavor. The scoops are large enough to get multiple flavors. Get the waffle bowl, it’s thin & crispy. I’d eat just that.
This is such a cute date spot! They have plenty of seating both inside and outside. The ice cream is pretty standard in terms of texture, but they offer a wide variety of unique flavors. They also have limited-time flavors, so watch for any that interest you. My personal favorite is the "Buttercream Birthday Cake!" Our waffle cone was excellent—I'd highly recommend getting one! I plan to return to try more flavors. I visited in the evening, and parking was a bit difficult to find. They do have a small parking area, but it's still limited. Street parking is available around the area as well!
I had Jeni’s ice cream. I got two scoops in a waffle cone. 1) gooey butter cake: fantastic- gimme 17 of them now. Creamy, salty, buttery, sweet…some of the best non-chocolate ice cream I’ve ever had. 4.7/5! (Insane) 2) Texas chocolate sheet cake: this one was good too but it was hard to follow the gooey butter cake flavor. It was chocolatey with a bit of dark chocolate bitterness. 3.4/5. The gal working the counter was very nice too and offered many samples! I enjoyed the ambiance of the place as well- could definitely sit with friends or family if wanting to. As far as price, 7-9$ for a 2-4 scoop cone was worth it! Overall, will definitely go again! 4.1/5!!!
Good ice cream. $9 for 2 different flavors. It's 1 scoop. So 1/2 scoop for 1 flavor. Clean restaurant. Quick serve. Friendly customer service.
This ice cream is delicious! It is shipped in, not made in-house, but they have a lot of interesting flavors, to include non-dairy, with some new ones that rotate through. They have waffle and sugar cones, bowls and even a flight of 10 flavors to try (which I wish they offered in a smaller quantity and price option.) They also have pints and snack size for purchase. I got the standard 2 scoop which portions are on the smaller side, but calorie wise it is probably a good thing. The cake batter and chocolate chocolate cake flavors were very good. I like that the place is bright and open. There is a lot of seating inside and a cute outdoor seating area as well. Staff were very friendly. There are various merchandise items available for purchase. I enjoyed my first visit. 4 stars due to cost/value, but all else was 5 stars.

The staff and the ice cream itself were great. As were the facilities and parking. The three most popular flavors are the Blueberry Crisp, Gooey Butter Cake and the Brown Butter Almond Brittle. I liked them all but the r Gooey Butter Cake was probably my favorite. My kid got all 3 varieties of their chocolate ice cream. I thought the Darkest Chocolate was the best followed by the Milkiest Chocolate. The last one Dark Chocolate Truffle was dairy free and a bit on the icy side. So it was my least favorite and I probably would pass next time on it (I really feel for all you lactose intolerant folks). My only complaint is that the waffle bowl was stale. Chewy. Like when you get one of those drum sticks from H‑E‑B that’s been in the freezer too long and not crispy. I used to work at Baskin-Robbins and I love fresh waffle cones. But I also hate stale ones. So I had to knock a star off for that.
Came here because of the good reviews. Ice cream is pretty basic for what it's worth a little overpriced. Honestly store bought Blue Bell is way better in my opinion. Place is nice and the customer service is good. $16 for 4 tiny scoops is not ideal.

Update, I was contacted by the company, and they understood my issues that I had. I appreciate their response. I’ll go back and try it again. Previous response: The ice cream is delicious. You get half a scoop, instead of a whole scoop, I didn’t realize it when I got my cone. I had two half scoops in my wafer cone, and it basically didn’t even come to the top of the cone. This never happened at any of the other Jeni’s I have been to. The one in Atlanta was fantastic, they give you large scoops. Not a good experience. She could’ve let me know that you needed to order more ice cream. She was not friendly. They weren’t that busy. I will not return to this location.
My wife and I decided to try this spot out after dinner. The ice cream was great the young lady helping us wasn’t. No greeting like hello or ask us have we been there. Nothing. I asked for a sample she gave me the very tip of the spoon. Wasn’t personable at all. Would go back only for to go pints.
No parking AT ALL. Even when they are not busy they will have your car towed. I got ice cream from their establishment. Ive been coming for months with no issues. Today i take a quick walk up street with my delicious ice cream. They towed me immediately. Please dont park in their parking lot. Very discriminatory parking. The towing company is a bit difficult to work with.
