Growing up, Luby's was an after church special lunch place. It holds a special place in the hearts of many Texans who like home cooked meals. I had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and fried okra. Soooo good.
Warm comfort food with a great selection and always fresh. We've been several times and it never disappoints. I recommend the chicken fried steak and the fried okra. This place is big back approved!

The food was prepared especially for me due to my food sensitivity while eliminating garlic; Also, it tasted delicious! The service was impeccable. The food was properly handled without cross contamination, the salmon was scrumptious without garlic, the atmosphere and service was remarkable due to the waiters accommodating all the requests in our large group by providing a clean room and nice set up, and the staff was very energetic and friendly.
First time at lubys in a few decades. Nice to see a place where you can eat for around 10 bucks. Chicken fried steak and 2 sides. Needless to say, no leftovers. Crispy steak and everything was perfect. Those potatoes and spinach and roll. Had water.
When people have to work on a Holiday and/or family live out of town there's no better way than to share a good meal with good people who may be in the same boat either by chance or by choice. The food and staff at this Luby's location is exceptional. Prices are affordable and the quality is as good as it gets. Good service and good food start with management and at this location management deserves a gold medal 🏅
This Luby's has great cooks. The food is prepare well and seasoned just right that a person on a salt restricted diet could eat.

Recent visit to Lubys on Old Spanish Trail, Houston was amazing. My busload of Austin friends were on our way home from the International Quilt Show. The manager, Sam, had a fresh line of all the favorite menu items ready for us. She also had a 2nd cashier in place to ensure the line went smoothly. Our waitress, Annie set up tables so that all 54 of us could sit together. She worked to quickly and efficiently see to our needs during our time there. Wonderful food, service and staff!

Arrived from our place ride in and thought we'd try something new to us. Exactly what we expected with one exception, the service was fantastic. You may not think about service in a cafeteria style restaraunt however, these folks have it figured out. If you're looking for some homestyle food with a cafeteria flare, this is the spot. We'll go back.
Buffet style food at reasonable prices. Service gets 5 stars because they know my Mom when she walks in, and do an excellent job of caring for her as a handicapped person.

Clean. Friendly staff. Super fast. Don't Come here if you have an open warrant. Always has police eatting here. Good looking cafeteria serving line. High quality cafeteria style line up, Just a short notch below regular restaurant quality due to heat lamps ,etc. But if you want a sit down meal quickly in a clean , cool, dinning room you can't beat it.
My overall experience was good. I ordered to go. When I got home and cut into my meat, it was raw. I call the establishment immediately after, but no one answered the phone. Then I put in a complaint online to be contacted. No one has responded to any of my request. This sucks because I like coming to lubys. Wish someone would respond to my grievance
Made a U-Turn to drive into Luby’s for lunch before I go see my doctor. I have been missing their food for the past 4 years. This place is busy during lunch! You have people from different ages and work backgrounds lining up to see a huge array of Salads, Meats and Fish, sides like mashed potatoes to fried okras, and of course beautiful old fashion American deserts. It would not be complete without a sweet tea. The two cashiers on either side of the room help you pay and offer you cash for tip (if you pay by credit card). My meal of fish, 2 sides, 1 bread, and sweet tea was $15.03. My waitress is Shell. She is fast and welcoming. Shell got me my sweet tea as I sat by the windows to enjoy my food and observe the guests. It’s a bit different from my old OST Luby’s which was torn down over a decade ago. It was around 7pm so it wasn't busy. Got the chicken fried steak with broccoli and stuffing. Also the German chocolate cake. The chicken fried steak was hard and dry. The broccoli was good and Firm. The stuffing was a little dry and crusty. The cake was great, nice and moist with good icing.

I work in the Medical Center i stopped by to get a plate of food told the lady i wanted a luann plate got to the register and the lady charged me for a regular plate. One lady that was working had no idea of what she was doing. I asked her questions and she Kept having to get Info from other people. I got to work and my food is inedible i threw it away. Chewing on the chicken was like chewing on rubber, okra was stale and greasy. I took a picture of the receipt and the food called to get a resolution on the issue and person on the phone told me there was nothing that could do for me. I would never spend another dime at this location. Customer service is horrible.

Our food was initially warm but quickly became cold as we waited for our waitress, an older black lady with a bob wig, to attend to us. Unfortunately, she seemed more focused on her phone than her customers, frequently checking her screen and rushing to the back. Despite the restaurant not being crowded, she failed to provide adequate service, leaving us to refill our own drinks. We eventually had to seek assistance from a younger waitress to get our needs met."
