MKT Bar in downtown Houston is a great casual spot to unwind after shopping. The atmosphere is relaxed, the food is delicious, and the drink selection is solid. It's the perfect place to enjoy good music, tasty bites, and a laid-back vibe right in the heart of the city.

When we came it was ridiculously packed because of a race but our waiter was very nice and tried her best to be attentive to all of her tables. The food came out and it was absolutely delicious and we really enjoyed our meal. Will definitely return!

I really like this place. Probably great for a first date, it has a nice food and wine selection. I had a South African red wine, while my wife had a nice Spain red wine. Service was really good as well, our server, Seth had really good suggestions and was affable. Because this is attached to the market I’m sure we’ll be visiting again.

Seated quickly in a nice, spacious spot for a trio and a baby. Good, service with knowledgeable waiter. Good menu and drink selection. (With the exception of the Margarita...would not suggest it) Cozy, chill vibe. Nice, interesting decor. Clean restrooms. Favorite place to go after Toyota Center event or visit to Discovery Green.

This place is really nice, the ambiance is really enjoyable. The play good music, and some days even have live music. The place is super spacious so it's good for small and large parties (10+). They have booth, low and high chairs seating. The have really good appetizers and pizza I would recommend the cheese board, ceviche, and the queso. For drinks they have tons of draught beer, and cocktails.... My fav is the mango frozen cocktail. Stuart was our waiter, he was amazing he even remembered us from the day before. Happy hour is Monday, Tuesday and Friday 4-6pm.

Casual restaurant attached to Phoenicia market. I enjoyed that haloumi tomato salad stopped with grilled shrimp. My daughter enjoyed that sliders. Very tasty. Free parking garage for kanisha customers is a plus.

Brunch section of menu may seem small, but they're okay. Great value if you just want to chill. Coffee and juice are the best and the staff are incredibly excellent! Food is good, but not always the greatest, but never the worst, but I haven't tried the other items so I can't really speak for the other food items, but at least the scrambled eggs are about better than what I expected, and I usually don't care too much about scrambled eggs. If you like food, you're probably better checking out the grocery store connected to this place before ordering them here. But if you're curious about the food here, go ahead, you might find something you like. Overall, great place for the value you get and if you love coffee, this could be your place. EDIT: The zaatar fries are so thin and soggy, they don't dip in the garlic aioli. Service is excellent so they replaced it. I expected so much from MKT Bar but it seems their food items are either hits or misses. Gelato are great, mac and cheese is awesome, and of course, all the drinks I tried so far are top notch. Not saying MKT Bar is bad but I wished they could work on their food items more, especially if they're owned by Phoenicia and they sell better food than MKT Bar does. But other than that, MKT Bar is excellent for cold drinks and gelato.

Reviews made us want to try this place, but our experience was less than stellar. Service was painfully slow especially for a Friday afternoon lunch. Waitress would disappear for 20 minutes at a time and food took forever to come out.

This place is great for coming to grab some drinks, but the food can take a seat. If your salad tastes better than your steak on a steak night -Houston we have a problem. My steak was heavy-handed (salt), and the crust was really thickkk (burnt). Overall, service was great , and live music made it a little better, but they need to step it up.

Nothing like trying to get a quick lunch that was made so fast, they forgot the condiments. Supposed to have a HEAPING of coleslaw on top, and mustard on bottom. As you can see, nothing there. Manager walks by, ask for more condiments, she ask for it via her Walkie-Talkie, 4 minutes go by....nothing. Bartender finally comes back, wave him down...ask him for it. Finally comes out, been 10 minutes since it's delivered, and now it's cold. It's not the lunch rush and don't understand how difficult it is to legit grab some mustard and slaw. They did comp my meal, which I didn't ask for, but the fact that the bartender could see I was frustrated...so he asked yet another manager to comp it. Only person to apologize...the awesome bartender (forgot his name). Packed up to go, what's the point eating it now.

My one star is primarily because of the server who attend to us. She placed the wrong order got sliders instead of the Austin burger and she forgot to bring the peach drink. Did not show her face after placing the order. I learnt later from the other stewards that she was the manager. They then said they would take the Burger of my bill and give it to go. When I open the to go box at home, it was pancakes and not the burger we ordered. This place is messed up. I will not go back and certainly do not recommend.

I’m attending AfroTech, I came here to get a vegetable dish. I ordered the vegetable curry pot pie. This was the first thing I ate today, it looked so good, I ate about a quarter of it then began working on my iPad. After 30 minutes I had an upset stomach and had to race to the rest room. I tossed it. I ate an apple and it helped settle my stomach. I’m never ordering this dish ever again, I can’t recommend it. I’ll only purchase a curry dish from a place who Mae culture is known for making it, not MKT Bar. I’m not sure
