This time my girl brought me on a date and I just so happened to really like Greek Food. Of course I had to try the Gyro. Also how to properly pronouce it, is. "Your-O" not "guy-row". It's good, but I still prefer great wraps version over it. Oh and you get a choice of fries, rice, or something else on the side. Honestly I can't remember. But they give you a truck load of rice. I couldn't finish it all .. wow. It's not your typical restaurant where you wait to be seated, you know that type. You walk in, wait in line for the counter, look at the menu before fully getting to the register, then you order and pick out your table and wait for your order to be up. I'll definitely be back one day. ::UPDATE:: so I'm finally back, it took some time. But I'm here again and with my girl's family. Tried something different this time around. The Sourlocke Sandwich. I might be spelling that wrong, but I know I'm close. Honestly it was just like a Gyro. I tried to get away from it just for it to bring me back, lol. Next time I'll try their Greek beer or margaritas.
Truly a great place and delicious desserts. My usual is the Hercules plate. You want a tour of Greece, you got it with this plate. It has everything but the kitchen sink. Anything you want to taste (besides the dessert) in Greece it's all here. The ladies looooove the honey balls. Will not be disappointed going here. No table wait service so beware. Excellent wine choice.
The food was absolutely on point—flavorful and nicely portioned. The dessert menu was so tempting, we tried the chocolate covered Backlava, sooo good. I’ll need to come back just to try them all. Great spot for a satisfying meal and sweet treats!
I was very impressed with the level of service I received from the catering / Togo team. I ordered a large amount of food for my birthday party, when I got home, I noticed that there was an incorrect item. The restaurant acted swiftly and delivered the correct item. I highly recommend this place!
Absolutely the best Gyro in town. I love the rustic environment and it’s really easy access off of Montrose. The staff are very knowledgeable about their product and very friendly. They get the orders in quick and the meal out to you really quick considering the volume of guests. Well done, now build one up near the Spring/Woodlands area.
Since I’ve moved to Houston in 2019, I’ve always wanted to try different food and this place hasn’t disappointed. If you’re in the mood for some Greek, then you HAVE TO COME HERE. They have a extensive menu and other opportunities for happy hour. Below in the pictures is their Greek salad and the Greek Chicken Parmesan plate. It’s a whole meal for under $20. It’s a deal considering some other items on the menu don’t include all of this. They have indoor and outdoor seating so you can seat wherever you like! Order at the counter, get a vibrating pager, and causally wait for your order! The service is nice and they move relatively quick. It’s a nice place for lunch and dinner 🙂
Niko Niko's offers a large selection of great tasting Greek dishes. This establishment is better described as a Cafe/diner rather than a restaurant. It's usually busy, so when you get there you'll probably be hopping into a line to order. Grab a menu at the door, the line moves rather quickly. The place might have A/C but i can't tell, the doors open so often the cold air rarely gets to settle in. Not to say that it's hot, maybe just stuffy at times. The food is great. They don't skimp out on seasoning, so you really get a balanced blast of flavor in every bite of whatever you ordered. Never too much flavor, always enough to satisfy your craving. While you're at the counter you should consider one of their dessert options. Don't know that to get? Just pick something!
I moved into the area in 2010 and I am ashamed to admit that I’ve eaten here about 3 times since that date. What is even more confusing is that when I lived in the Clear Lake area, I made the drive many more times. For historical sake, the uneven floors and counter order is how long I’ve been a customer. Yesterday Labor Day, and based on a great marketing promotion of a Gyro Sandwich and fries for $7.50 , I revisited, I did a curbside pickup which was very well organized and efficient with a friendly employee. 5 star service. When I got home and opened my container, a familiar smell arose. The amount of fries/potatoes exceeded my expectations. My first bite made me wonder why did I simply forget about this restaurant that is 1.2 miles away from my house. My disappointment in myself caused me to write this review. Every single day, I read about another restaurant closing their doors, some with long tenure and loyal customers that seemed shocked and confused about what occurred. The restaurant market is competitive and diners seem to focus on the new and often higher priced menu, and I’m guilty of this statement. Please visit NN for the first time or again. Support this legendary Houston landmark and you will not be disappointed. Food 5/5 Curbside 5/5 Taste 5/5 Value 5/5 Thank you NN for a meal that made me smile…
Absolutely loved my visit to Niko Niko’s! The portions were generous and full of flavor the gyro plate was one of the best I’ve had in a long time. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere felt lively yet cozy. Perfect spot whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or enjoying a meal with friends. Definitely coming back again soon!
When we arrived, there were many free spots in the parking lot. You simply walk inside, order meals at the counter, and pick it up there when your buzzer sounds. Although I've never had Greek breakfast, it was excellent. In addition, I purchased an iced mocha, which shocked me. They actually have a wonderful selection of sweets and a pretty good coffee menu. Despite the fact that I skipped the dessert this time, I will surely have it the next time I visit, which will be very soon as they have a number of things I'm eager to try.
Arrived about 1:30 on a Sunday afternoon. Plenty of parking in the parking lot. A fairly long line to order food, however it moves very fast. Given a vibrating device to alert when the order is ready. Ordered two mini gyro and an order of fries to share, along with two drink cups to use at self serve drink area. Found a booth and enjoyed relaxing while eating our lunch. Most people have casual attire, however some people arrived dressed up.
Been going here my entire life. Best Greek food in the city. But the reason I’m finally reviewing is how awesome Sarah was. Incredibly hospitable, helped sign up for the rewards app, checked up on us mid meal, and just generally awesome service.
Went early around 5:30p on Friday evening, little to no crowd, but filled up quick by 6:30-7p. Spanokopita was outstanding - very light layers of dough, and lots of spinach. The sauce was ok. Whole Lavraki (aegean bass) came with a delicious Greek salad - described as "small", but more than enough for two people! Now the main attraction - the whole fish. Done extremely well, with lots of grilled veggies, very very light on salt. Ignore the sauce on side as it took away from fish. The only dislike was amount of olive oil the fish was laid in. It didn't need that. One half was in quite a bit of oil, the other wasn't - so you could compare and tell it didn't need that.
Niko Niko's on Montros is a staple of Houston cuisine - must try for visitors and Houstonians alike. While you may be tempted to order fries with you gyro, branch out a little and get roasted potatoes instead. They are heavenly and simply melt in your mouth. My go to order for a weekend lunch - full dips platter and a bottle of Greek white wine. Hits the spot!
They do a great job making sure your food is quality. I enjoyed the Gyro with fries and it was delicious and soft. My partner got Cabbage wraps with potatoes. She enjoyed them at the restaurant, and took them home to enjoy later. I finished the gyro there it was so delicious. Very ambient atmosphere, sometimes outside gets a little road noise, but that's uncontrollable. Definitely worth a trip down to check out.
Great food and great atmosphere! The cooks do a fantastic job getting the food just right! This is a staple for Houston and definitely a must-try for anyone in town. There's a wide selection of food, drinks, and desserts available. My personal favorite item is the Kreatopita, the wonderful potatoes on the side, and some yummy hummus and tabouli. Some of my other favorite dishes include their Lamb Shanks, Gyro sandwiches, chicken kabobs, and Lemon Chicken Soup. Their desserts here are divine. You can never go wrong with Baklava, which is cooked very well here. My favorite is the Athenian Mudpie, which is a decadent brownie topped with a cooked layer of cream cheese. I also love the Caramel Cappuccino dessert, which is a caramel-coffee cake with a delicious cream topping layer. Lastly, any and all of the gelato flavors are phenomenal. All of the desserts here are fabulous though, and you can't go wrong with any of them. A "MUST GO" for anyone in Houston!
I am gonna leave a review even if Niko Niko’s already has 3,591 of them, because it’s that good. Point.Blank.Period. The food has been consistent in quality & taste, the atmosphere is great, and I’ve never had a complaint about customer service. All though I eat there often, I haven’t tried many of the options the restaurant offers simply because I love the Gyro Plate, so I’m sure I’m missing out. My wife loves the Keftedes Plate and is obsessed with their Greek Salads. These plates are $15 each but the serving is large and totally worth it. As if they weren’t already perfect, they also serve frozen ritas and a variety of adult beverages. Yes, they have dessert too. Beautiful ice creams that I have yet to try (they look delish) pastries, and of course baklava.
I have loved Niko Niko's for years! I rarely get to visit because of distance but it never disappoints. The gyros are flavorful and moist, the pita is always fresh and fluffy, the spanakopita is addictive, the service is great and the casual atmosphere can't be beat.
We had the most incredible dining experience at Niko Nikos. The food was absolutely delicious. Every dish was perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. Miss daniella was attentive, knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations. My grandkids enjoyed food so much. Thanks Miss Daniella for taking care of our needs with smile and making my time with grand kids memorable.
Lovely place. I first went about 30 years ago, but today was my first time back in almost 20 years. The Greek salad still wow, along with everything else. Stellar staff- everyone I interacted with at the counter (taking my order, handing over my salad, and handing over my entree), plus bus employees - all so happy and wonderful. I miss this place. Thanks for the delicious lunch!
Relieved to try a soup that isn’t overly salty. The soup is nicely tart, light in taste. The feta dip is delicious; salty, tangy, creamy at the same time. The veggies pair well with the dip. 4 stars for the food; it’s good, wouldn’t say spectacular because it lacks depth. Overall consistent and solid place to eat.
Best place in Houston for gyros and more! I (and family) have been eating here for over 40 years and can always depend on excellent food with great service! Highly recommend! They have a large variety of salads, gyros and many other authentic Greek dishes. There's a large pastry selection as well! And- their French fries are amazing! Foods are made fresh daily. 😍 There is something for everyone - their Philly Cheesesteaks are really good too! You order at the counter and receive a beeper. You'll find a lot of people at lunch and dinner- and throughout all business hours! Don't let a long line discourage you. I've given the "plenty of parking" as even tho it can get hard to find a space -- we've always been able to find a spot! We've gone during the lunch and dinner rush and at other times as well. They do have a pick up lane for orders to go. You can download the Niko Niko's Boba app to order ahead - and add up points. Saying that - I've never done that! 🤣 But the app is easy to navigate and order. It's designed very well!
This is an iconic and one of the older restaurants in Houston. I assure you that it does not disappoint. Over the weekend, expect to step into a bustling, full of energy place. Yet one can get a sense of privacy if you get the bigger tables. The restaurant has both inside and outside seating options. The food is delicious and the quantity is huge! The fried fish was perfectly cooked and the Greek coffee strong and tasty. Must recommend the Greek wines on offer as well as the gyros! Another great place to take friends and family!
I have been eating at Niko Niko’s since they opened in 1977 and I was in high school in Bellaire. I moved away from Houston for my career over the past 25 years, but always include lunch or dinner at Niko’s when back in H Town. There is no better gyro and fries than the ones here. The pita is warm, lamb/beef meat thickly sliced, and tahini sauce spills out on your hands for finger-licking eating. My son enjoys the vegetarian options here. No-one ever leaves hungry.
The most consistently great restaurant I have ever experienced. Been coming for decades and the food and the service is top notch. Didn't know until recently that I could order half fries and half potatoes as a side and that's a super game changer as I always want them both. A Houston classic that everyone should visit.
To be completely honest, I mostly go for the Greek lemon potatoes - the main course is secondary. The meatballs and gyro plates are my go-to's, and are delicious! But the potatoes are in a league of their own. Please don't change! :)
Niko Niko’s is a great place to get some tasty food that fills your tummy. There are many good options for a meal; the gyro plate, one of these options, is a classic Greek dish that tastes wonderful. It includes gyro meat (lamb), pita bread, tzatziki sauce, tomatoes, and a choice of fries, potatoes, or rice. My brother said that his gyro was five stars. That meal is always a solid choice, but the burgers here are also smashing. I ordered the Bacon Kasseri Burger, which includes a large beef patty, onions, crispy bacon, and a sizable amount of amazing Greek Kasseri cheese. Many fries came with my meal, and they were seasoned well, adding considerably good flavor to them. Our food took a little while to come out: 20 minutes or so. However, it was well worth the wait. I would recommend coming here whenever you’re in the area.
It's good for Mediterranean-style fast food. I love how extensive their menu is. My daughter loves choosing the large variety of desserts, such as the gelato and the baklava. Vegetarians love the large selection of choices on an otherwise limited selection.
We got the wrong size item(regular instead of mini), but they quickly fixed it. I always feel rushed at their counter, but sometimes can't make a decision. Everything is so good. When one particular food expo lady is in the front, I can't hear anything so when she works, I sit in the back area or I cant hear my husband 😅. I love this place though. Our favorite is the village salad. Just like Greece for us.
I love the show Dives, Diners, and Drive Ins and I’d heard about this place from there. I was excited because I love Greek food. Let me tell you it was worth the wait. We went in for lunch on a Saturday and it was pretty busy but was not too bad of a wait. You order at a register and then sit down and pick up your food when it is ready. The menu is very large and I appreciated this as there were a lot of options for everyone. We had our family of 14 here and everyone found something they liked! I ended up deciding on the Greek Salad Pita and added Grilled Chicken, green peppers rather than red, and got Fries as a side. Hands down one of the best pitas I’ve ever had. Everything about it was delicious. It was so juicy and had just enough of all the ingredients. I love feta and this had plenty of it, so I was thrilled about that. The fries had seasoning on them and were the perfect pairing to the pita. The amount of food was great and VERY filling. Lots of fries for each plate so you could definitely share with someone if you wanted. I also decided to get a dessert. I got the Hazelnut cake and my dad got the Troufa chocolate cake. Both were absolutely delicious. The Troufa cake was rich in chocolate and the mousse was the perfect texture. The Hazelnut cake was just as good but not as heavy. I’d definitely recommend it for someone who loves chocolate but doesn’t want it to be overpowering. The cake on both were very moist and the cream was light and airy. I didn’t get a picture of the Troufa cake but the pictures attached is the Hazlenut cake. I’d go back here anytime I’m in town. It was one of the best places I’ve been in a long time.
This is not our first trip to Nico's We come back every time we come back to Houston. We had the roasted chicken, and it fell..off..the bone. And the potatoes were delicious! Looking for some great food and dining, add this to your stop. We make one mistake of not leaving room for dessert.
It had been years since I visited. A friend of mine was not sure if she had been there. The employees are very friendly and courteous. I was ready to taste the wonderful food. She on the other hand has a sweet tooth. We talked for hours without interruption. We felt at ease enjoying our snack. The baklava cheese cake is like people say " It's to die for". Her first time tasting the baklava, I loved it. It's one of my reasons for choosing to dine there. We will definitely be coming back in order to try other delicacies.
We came for lunch. It was pretty busy. You order at the counter, get a pager and return to pick up your food. I got the small Greek Salad with grilled chicken. The serving size was perfect for lunch and quite tasty. The Greek salad dressing was excellent. My husband had the Philly Cheese steak and enjoyed it. Be aware it takes about 15 minutes extra for them to make the Philly dish.
I’ve been eating here for many years the food is delicious10/10 the lemon noodle soup is amazing. The salad with the feta takes you to another place. It is great. The lamb chops is always on the spot. The staff is wonderful. The deep-fried doughnut dessert is so warm. My mouth is absolutely blowing on them. I wish we had more restaurants like this. It’s always nice to have good food and good service.
We had the Hercules plate, gyro sandwich side greek salad, and hummus with pita bread....all was great, the lemon potatoes with any meal are a must try. Also we were so full that we didn't get to try the sweets even though I really wanted to. Added bonus they have the sonic ice iykyk. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Houston.
Wow what an experience! Just entering the place and feel all the good vibes. It’s a counter order, pick up and bring back to your table type of place. Everything we ate was fresh and tasty. The portions are generous. Every person we encountered was so friendly. Free easy parking and clean bathroom. I will definitely return!!!!! I have two picky items that I must mention. 1) kitchen staff should NOT go into the bathroom With apron on -ewwww🤮 2) the tzatziki sauce was bland- but the garlic aioli made up for it

Went here on Tuesday with my mom. I haven’t been to a lot of Greek places, but I was pretty impressed with the quality and taste of most of the items. Debated between a 3 and 4 star. We ordered a “Greek Combo” which comes with a side (we chose fries). You might have to look up names for things like we did if you’re not familiar with Greek dishes because some items are not described on the menu. This was a huge amount of food (don’t know how one person could even make a dent). Cool way to try a few different Greek items. It comes with a Greek salad which was a bit over dressed and had a lot of dressing on the bottom. Desserts were $3 during week day “happy hours 3-6). I ordered a rice pudding and took it home because our food was so filling. Tasted delicious but thought even that was a bit pricy for it. So many dessert and menu items to choose from. Would possibly go back, but will also try another Greek place or two to compare.
A neighbourhood classic. I have been coming here forever, and rarely and, I mean very rarely disappointed(once in decades) The service is friendly and fast. Although this is not fast food. Quality Greek food full menu. . Vegan vegetarian options. Ample parking. This place always a first choice even if just coffee and desserts, which are exceptionally done.
I've been coming here for years, great place, food and service for a quick bite, best place in Houston for gyros. Sometimes you have to wait in a long line to order food but there are always free tables and parking. Make sure to check your bag when ordering takeout, they usually forget to include all your order...
The other location is better. This one has much less space to move and didn't even know Greek beer is a thing - despite the banner ad hanging by the cash register. The food was still really good but slower coming out.
I did order a non-standard Greek item in the Philly cheesesteak, but it was just OK. It looked great and the flavors were pretty good, but it was almost like ground meat instead of sliced meat with a more stewed like flavor. The cheese sticks were fabulous though they had a great flavor a great texture And well worth the order. I need to go back and try some more of the classic options that they have.
You need to order before and pick it up when it's ready. You can order online too. Everything is served in disposables even while eating in, which is disappointing given the price of the food. Tzaziki is good and a bit runny, hummus is ok. We ordered the chicken and meat small gyro and the spanakopita which were quite delicious. The meat tasted like ground meat made as gyro meat. The chicken was nicely seasoned. Kids enjoyed it too. Nice patio area
What I don't like about Niko Niko's is the fact that they put you in on the spot like making you give him a tip I just really resent and hate that I don't go there often and next time I'm going to stand up to him and not tip. After all they're just taking orders if their company wants them to make more money they need to pay him more
Service was great. My food was below average. I have been to Niko Niko’s years ago and found that it has dropped in quality. The boiled potatoes are still very good as are the desserts but the meats were hard.
I went there today for a field trip for my school because our teacher recommended it and it was so good! I got the chicken gyro and the size was so filling and the fries with the tzatziki sauce was amazing! I also got the strawberry smoothie that tasted like yogurt but it was so refreshing especially on a hot day! They had a bunch of other sweets which I wish I was able to try but I would definitely come here again!
Niko Nikos: A Reliable Local Favorite for Stellar Gyros Niko Nikos has firmly established itself as a must-visit local spot, providing an unbeatable combination of fast, efficient service and consistently good food. While the establishment itself may be small, the experience—and the flavor—is anything but. The dining experience here is quick and casual. You place your order directly at the counter and are handed a buzzer that signals when your food is hot and ready for pickup. Though they do offer a separate side dining area, be aware that this place gets wonderfully busy, especially during peak eating times, a testament to its popularity. The setting is decidedly no-frills, with meals served on paper plates using only plastic cutlery, which reinforces the focus on speed and delicious food rather than formality. Logistically, the parking lot is conveniently sized, making entry and exit easy. When it comes to the menu, the Gyros are undoubtedly the star of the show and the most popular dish for a reason—they are fantastic. However, loyal patrons will tell you that the menu holds other items equally worth exploring. No matter what main you choose, you can't go wrong with the excellent selection of sides: whether you opt for the classic fries, the flavorful roasted potatoes, or the well-prepared rice, all are consistently good choices. If you’re looking for a spot with delicious, dependable food, quick service, and easy logistics, Niko Nikos is highly recommended. It’s the perfect place for a fast lunch or a satisfying casual dinner.
This place is bustling! Especially during the lunch hour. They are very efficient with their ordering process. Only one person takes the orders, and doesn't leave to do something else 🫡 The food is very tasty and the portions are generous. Although everyone else has said that already.🫢 Although you are called to pick up the food when yours is ready and bring it to your table. There is still someone who comes to the tables and brings water and cleans up...💁🏻♂️
Visited Niko Niko’s while in Houston. The atmosphere was casual with an old-school diner-style feel, and the service was friendly. We tried a few of their dishes — they were decent but didn’t quite hit the mark for me, landing more in the average range. Overall, it felt a bit overrated based on the hype, though it might still be worth a second visit to explore more of the menu. Saluti

My wife and I have been coming to this niko nikos since 1999. Lately the food has not been nearly as good as it was when Demetrius manned the counter. On this recent visit Nov. 2025, the food was just thrown together to the point when I was handed my platter the dolma literally rolled off the plate and the food runner, younger Hispanic guy, didn't even bother to offer a replacement. The $18 chicken gyro plate was a huge disappointment. The chicken was dry and covered with a weird slaw that didn't belong. The chicken lemon soup was good but Abit overpriced if you ask me. Overall a 2.5/5 experience.
Summary notes: The Gyros were amazing, the fries had no seasonings, the HI-C was very watered down, and it was a lot of money for a subpar dining experience. I was kind of disappointed overall- There were a few things things that I liked but the food was overpriced for what we got ($3 fries is a lot if you're not going to season them). Per request of my partner which used to frequent Niko Niko's years ago- "They were under-seasoned and undercooked in comparison to how it used to be and it's so disappointing to me." I appreciated the inside of the building, it had dividers between booths and a lot of beautiful imagery. They also were highly responsible regarding Covid- all workers wore masks and the dividers between the booths really show that they care and I, personally, appreciate that. I really wish the majority of the items we got were better or perhaps better priced but the combination of all the negatives really put a bad look of the restaurant for me.
The food is as good as ever, but service needs some attention. I was there this past Sunday about 5:30 and almost missed my turn to order because the cashier spoke so softly. I told him he needed to speak up, but he just kept speaking so softly I could barely hear him over the din. It was very frustrating to be ignored, and just have to hope he heard my order correctly.
This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had in a long time—and it was just an online order. My wife placed the order, and at 3:22 PM, she texted me to pick it up. I arrived at Niko Niko’s around 3:40 PM and informed the cashier that I was there for the order my wife had called in. After sitting in the lobby for 15 minutes with no updates, I went back to the counter and asked about my order. An employee checked and told me it had just been sitting in the back. She finally brought it out at 3:59 PM. At that point, I realized my mango shake was missing. An employee came by to ask if I had received everything, and I told them no, I was still waiting on the shake. After another three to five minutes of waiting, I walked up to the front again and let the manager know that I had been sitting there for over 20 minutes for a call-in order and was still missing my drink. The receipt showed my order was supposed to be ready at 3:30 PM. After hearing my frustration, the manager, Maria, apologized and offered to comp a meal, which I appreciated, but the entire experience was frustrating. To make matters worse, my dog was waiting in the car the whole time—I had expected to be in and out quickly. Thankfully, it wasn’t a hot day. What made this even more frustrating was the lack of urgency from the staff. Several employees, including what appeared to be a shift lead (I assume they wear red hats), were just standing around chatting instead of ensuring orders were completed and handed out in a timely manner. Overall, this was a terrible experience, and I’m hesitant to return. To top things off, our food was cold when I arrived home. I ordered a gyro plate with half rice and half fries and my wife ordered a chicken gyro.
Nice, convenient spot to enjoy casual Greek cuisine. We will order from here again. Gyros and Pitas were delicious. We dined at the restaurant, and I was shocked that everything is disposable inside. Paper Plates, plastic cups, wrapped utensils. Great idea for to go orders but this just added unnecessary clutter to a pretty small booth for four guests. A lot of waste. There was cleaning staff but they didn’t go up to our table to remove empty plates while we were seated.
Hadn’t been to this location in years. It wasn’t super clear on how ordering/receiving your food happened. Waited in the line, order and the lady at the register gave me a buzzer and left. Didn’t say anything. Had to ask the other employee at the register next to me on whether I pickup food or it was delivered, etc. Hummus was plain and not super. The cheese sticks weren’t very good and the falafel wasn’t crispy or flavorful. Some other people had the shawarma plates and said they were good but nothing to write home about. A bit disappointed bc there’s one opening in the woodlands, and was initially excited to have it here. I might give it another chance but I know there’s better Greek restaurants around.
Tried Niko Niko’s for the first time today during my Houston trip. Overall 3.5/5. I got a shrimp po’ boy which I assume may not be as popular of a menu item. It was okay.. they definitely put a Greek twist on it, and I wish the shrimp had more flavor. I was most disappointed by the fries. They did not seem fresh, came out at room temperature, and were too crispy for my liking. They also didn’t have much flavor to them. That being said, the best menu item I tried was the spanakopita. They were really delicious and I highly recommend them! Overall, the restaurant has a nice casual vibe, and the food came out very fast considering it was fairly busy! They also offer a wide range of desserts that looked yummy, but didn’t get a chance to try them this time around.
Food was pretty good, but they forgot my greek salad and never brought it to me. I gave up and just took the hit. Memorial location.

Heard astounding reviews on their greek food so went to try it last weekend. Unfortunately it failed to impress me. I ordered their special Goat cheese salad with added grill chicken. The salad was just completely filled with romaine lettuce and all other veggies were barely sprinkled on top. The goat cheese was grilled warm which was the only thing that tasted good. The grill chicken was so dry I could barely cut thru it. I waited for 15 minutes for that salad which costed me $19. I probably didn't order their signature dishes, but this one is definitely a no for me. I would rather spend that $20 for more mouthwatering bowls or salads in other places around.
I’ve always enjoyed Niko Niko’s over the many years I’ve been in Houston. This latest lunch I got was tasteless and funky. The gyro had very few veggies (see picture), the meat was not seasoned well. The feta fries were tasteless and just had a sprinkle of feta. The Greek salad was okay. For the price it wasn’t near worth it. I’m crossing them off my favorites list. Really disappointed.
I ordered their veggie kabob sandwich thinking there would be some type of kabob… it was grilled veggies on pita and not very good. The feta fries were okay. My husband got the Greek salad with shrimp and it came with 4 pieces of shrimp and a basic salad without dressing. The order also took 30 mins to make. I would not recommend coming here for vegetarian options.
Tried multiple items from the place, including chicken sandwich, gyro sandwich, chocolate baklava, halumi cheese. Gyro sandwich was okay. Chicken sandwich was dry and missing flavor. Baklava was dry although nice flake. Halumi was oily/rubbery. Overall , I’d give this place a 2/5 for takeout considering the gyro was better. I’d be willing to try again in person to see if it can redeem itself but currently, the takeout hasn’t been a great representation.
Worst food, atmosphere, and price is through the roof! Had to stop and get a bite for lunch today 1/16/2025 12:30p.\nDidn't want to spend a fortune, just a gyro, small fries, and one small helping …
We are usually regular customers at Niko Niko's restaurant. And the food is always really good. But this last visit the lady taking the order did not take the order correctly. And then when we received our food I had asked for the four zeke sauces for each of our plates that I had initially ordered with our food. And the guy that handed us our food got an attitude and did not want to give us the sauces we had initially asked for with our order. All of this could have been avoided but it took another lady worker to tell him to give us the sauces we had asked for yet I payed for the extra sauces after the fact simply because the lady taking the order had not done her job correctly. It is not my fault nor our fault as paying customers that the person behind the register did not know what she was doing let alone took our order wrong from the beginning. To say the least I was very disappointed with the service.
I ordered a Greek salad add chicken, which is supposed to be 4 ounces as well as a side chicken breast that was supposed to be 8 ounces— It looks kind of small so I checked it with my scale the side chicken breast, which was 13. Something dollars was only 4.7 ounces not 8 ounces and the added chicken to the salad which was supposed to be 4 ounces was only 2.2… So check your orders they’re charging you a hefty price and not delivering the amount that they advertise it for- 13$ for 8oz side chicken and 4.95 for 4 oz add on
I ordered the chicken soup to go and I had to put more seasoning in the soup when I got home. It was bland before so....the chicken itself was tough to eat . The only thing that was good was the pita bread which was soft a chewable. The chicken needs improvement with its texture
My family and I have been loyal customers of Niko Niko’s for the past five years, and I have always appreciated the kindness and courtesy of both the owner and staff. Unfortunately, during my most recent visit, I had an experience that was deeply disappointing and unlike anything I have encountered before at your establishment. While dining with my mother, after paying nearly eighty dollars for two entrées, a server named Diego removed our drinks without explanation and replaced them with two empty cups. He then went so far as to accuse my mother of stealing and stated that he would be calling the police. When I requested the supervisor’s contact information, he yelled at me and claimed he was the manager. This interaction was very upsetting. I have never been treated so poorly in a restaurant, especially one that my family and I have supported for years. Sadly, what should have been a pleasant family meal left us feeling disrespected and unwelcome. I share this feedback because I truly value Niko Niko’s and the positive experiences we have had in the past. However, I believe it is important that you are aware of this incident, as the cost of two drinks should never result in the loss of a loyal family of customers. Thank you for taking the time to read this message. I trust that you will address this matter appropriately.
So sad because I love the food here but the last time that I dined in, the lemons at the drink bar gave me mouth sores. It seems that the drink station is not well kept and the lemons carry a lot of bacteria so beware!
Really mediocre food, terrible dry cakes. I don’t know why this place has so many stars. We came here for dinner on a Friday night, it was busy so we had high expectations. We ordered the fish and chips and the gyro plate, total came out to be about $42. The good: fries are really really good and crispy, gyro itself if tender. The bad: order took forever to finish, like >20 minutes. The order was mostly fries with a somewhat small portion of gyro, even though the menu said there was extra amount for the plate. For the cost ($20), it was NOT worth it. Fried fish was also mid, very dry and not much flavor in the breading at all. Roasted potatoes lacked flavor, it tasted just like boiled potatoes. The worst: the cake is so so bad. For EIGHT dollars we got a small slice of the pistachio cake. It tasted sooo artificial, and it had a strong almond extract flavor which was really unpleasant. The chocolate sponge cake layer was also sooo dry, and did not have any chocolate flavor. This was probably one of the worst cakes I’ve ever had in my life. Just go to HEB and get a cake from their bakery section and it’ll be better. Would not recommend at all.
